AiAiba provides a unique experience in the Erongo Mountain region. The hotel is beautiful and peaceful. We would have loved to stay here for a week, if possible. Longer stays are recommended, but we stayed one night as a midway stop between Etosha and Swakopmund.
The hike from the hotel to see the cave paintings is well-marked, has amazing views (the sunset is spectacular), and has a lot of cave art paintings. We did not expect to see this many paintings in such a quiet, serene space, which is a nice surprise. The ability to participate in hiking, biking, and other outside sports is enjoyable for all age groups.
For the hike, we never found #1 (probably our oversight). Seeing the baboon families on the rocks overhead is exciting and unique to the lodge. We also thought the lights lighting up the rock faces behind the hotel at night were beautifully designed.
We highly recommend this eco-friendly hotel. The room can get very cold in the winter at night, but the thick blankets provided helped tremendously.
If you are interested in learning more about in cave art in a scholarly way, buy the cave art book (Peter Breunig in collaboration with Gabriel Franke, 2023). There no better source of informative, scientific, and scholarly knowledge on the rock art in the area. The book is well-researched and clearly communicated through the writing, pictures, and diagrams.

Best lodge I stayed at on my 17day Namibia trip.
What an amazing lodge in the middle of nowhere. The surroundings is just incredible beautiful and you will experience the best sunsets. I could kick myself for only booking one night.
Dinner was fantastic too. First we started with a Brioche with three different kinds of butter, followed by an amazing salad, then Beef filet on a delicious mushroom sauce and to finish all this off a nice pudding for dessert.
In the morning I had springboks right in front of the veranda. Will definitely go there again!

The area around the property is cool, really nice rock formations. The property itself from the outside looks unique but other than that it’s skippable. Check in was extremely inconvenient and long (couple of hours), no capability to pay via credit card on checkout. Staff not helpful or knowledgeable on questions about vicinity. Go to Spitzkoppe instead.

We chose Ai Aiba to spend our 10th Anniversary during a two week trip to Namibia and we were not dissappointed. The food was excellent and location is just pure magic. We hiked over the rocks at the back of the lodge and saw San paintings.

Access by 2 wheel drive on gravel road. Not much wildlife, rock painting nice but not spectacular, staff and facilities good. Dinner was 3 course fixed menue. very peacful spot.

Brilliant place just to stop and chill. We had been travelling for a while, visiting and driving ot was good just to have a pulse of days downtime in a very beautiful part of the country.
Staff were really accommodating and very adaptable to what we wanted to do. Good was good but the evening meal was a little like European prices.

Wir können die Lodge wärmstens empfehlen. Wunderschönes Ambiente, toller Service, geschmackvolle Einrichtung, wunderschöne Landschaft! Man ist direkt im Urlaub angekommen. Die Anfahrt sind ca. 50km über Schotterpiste - lohnt sich aber total!
Eine Sundowner-Wanderung mit Guide ist im Preis inbegriffen (lohnt sich! Ist sehr interessant!).

Super Unterkunft mit je zwei Einheiten pro Häuschen. Inbegriffene Mahlzeiten waren hervorragend. Ebenfalls wie der Empfang. Wie in jeder Unterkunft, die wir in Namibia hatten, waren alle Corona-Massnahmen vorbildlich. Die Zimmer sind grosszügig und sehr sauber. Einfach nur empfehlenswert.

Lodge besteht aus Bungalows mit jeweils zwei Wohneinheiten. Parkplatz direkt hinter dem eigenen Bubgalow. Zimmer sehr gross und zweckmässig eingerichtet. Kleine Terasse mit Blick in die Landschaft. Frühstück ok und Abendessen (Menü) sehr umfangreich. Leider sind die organisierten Ausflüge im Vergleich zu anderen Lodges gefühlt etwas zu teuer.

Ce lodge très fréquenté par les couples vaut surtout pour les environs et la piscine agréable (mais froide). Un repas correct. Pas d'eau chaude, mais le patron s'en excusé le lendemain (panne mécanique). On a eu du mal à trouver notre lodge car l'explication fut furtive et sommaire. Un accueil pas top mais cela arrive. Un coucher de soleil depuis une colline proche. Des singes qui passent au petit matin, mais pas grand chose d'autres. Mitigé en regard de nos attentes.

Wunderbare Lodge mitten im Nirgendwo. Wir haben am Nature Drive mit Sundowner teilgenommen. Unser Guide war sehr gut und hat uns viel erklären können, einige Tiere wie Zebras und Dik-Diks konnten wir auch erspähen. Das Abendessen war ein Traum - das Oryx-Steak hat super geschmeckt. Wir können diese Lodge wirklich empfehlen.

Wunderschöne Unterkunft mitten im Nichts! Der Ausblick ist grandios – vor allem vom Pool und von der Terrasse. Es wäre vielleicht bloß besser, wenn es etwas mehr Liegen am Pool gebe :-) Mein Freund hatte am nächsten Morgen Geburtstag und er wurde mit einem Geburtstaglied und Kuchen samt Kerzen überrascht :-) vielen Dank nochmal für den tollen Aufenthalt!

Lodge in outstanding location
This lodge is perfectly situated \"in\" the rocks. You will have an outstanding, unobstructed view from every room and a beautiful pool area. Rooms are in split Villas, nice and clean. I highly recommend a visit the \"Living Museum\" of the San People directly at the entry of the Lodge premises. The San People live there in a village and they offer 1,5 hour tours to rockpaintings and to show their ancient hunting knowledge.

Außergewöhnliche Umgebung, ruhige, angenehme Athmosphäre, perfekt für einen Zwischenstopp vor dem Besuch des Etosha NP. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Luxus in Erongo
Auf dem Weg zwischen Etosha und Swakopmund verbrachten wir 2 Tage in Ai Aiba Lodge. Die Chalets sind sehr geräumig, komfortabel mit grossartiger Aussicht auf Erongo Gebirge. Aus der eigenen Terrasse kann man die Wildernis bewundern, ohne die anderen Chalets wahrzunehmen. Die Küche ist ausgezeichnet, besonders die Steaks. Gleich neben Lobby beginnt der Wanderweg zu Rock Paintings. Kleines Pool unter Palmen ladet zum Relaxen ein. Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden und würden gerne dorthin noch Mal reisen.
