This was our second stay at the Hotel Mountain Paradise, and it was just as good as we remembered! The two-bedroom villa is spacious and a great way to relax for a family of 5. We loved the plunge pool and views and enjoyed breakfast. Great location, close to town and a lot of the activities we wanted to try. It was much busier the second time round and while the main pool is lovely and warm, more chairs are needed. When we tried to visit all chairs were occupied and we had to leave our towel and belongings on a nearby rock.

The hotel was older but quaint and \"typical\" of Costa Rica. The rooms were spacious, with good air conditioning and had own bathtub outside. Had a nice big bathroom with a waterfall shower. Dissapointed that there were hardly any views from the cabins because there was too much vegetation-(do not cut the beautiful trees) However, it makes it very beautiful and private. Saw tons of birds, monkeys and even an aguouti! I do wish we had hammocks like we saw some rooms had. There was a nice view from the pool and restaurant. Like that it is not huge so not a huge amount of tourists. Dissapointed that it only had one small pool/hot springs and property not very big - wish had a \"sendero\" to take walks in the forest. The room service has nice presentation but taste was average- Breakfast not so great. Service was not consistent and some of the workers seemed like \"forced to be nice\". Overall it was average 3 star ...not a 4 star and definitely way overpriced. (We were there during Spring Break) Perhaps low season is way better prices. Cute but would not stay there again.

I highly recommend this hotel, the staff was very helpful in helping us get a private shuttle to our flight home. They sent us off with food at 5am in the morning and things lined up perfectly. Waking up to the sounds of animals was a really nice experience and the breakfast was a great way to get loaded up with energy. The hotel is close to go adventure park which was a really great professional place. Zip lining and horse back riding there was amazing.

Beautiful view from the room and from the pool area. Room was very clean, bathroom was really nice, and property was very well kept. The beds were super comfy and the room was spacious. Some negatives: the TV in the room did not work properly, there was no phone to contact the front office from the room, the bathroom didn’t have hooks for the towels. The service was pretty poor- very laid back, people seemed bothered when asked for service.

Everyone was nice except the receptionist on our first night. He was rude and impatient. When I didn’t get what he said, he told me, ‘I told you that already. Do you want me to repeat? Am too fast for you?’ And smiled sarcastically. He just had a strong accent that’s why I asked again but he wasn’t too happy about it.

The only thing we wished was in our bungalow room there was no mini fridge to hold our leftover foods from dinners or our water-bottles cold! But everything else was amazing! 10/10!!!

We didn't get the villa we had reserved/ paid for. The gardens have real potential, the pool is nice, parking secure and the staff great! Breakfast was a typical but a bit disappointing buffet. Dinners however were a pure waste of money - you're better off getting a sandwich or snacks at the pool. The place looks like it had had its day and slowly over the years deteriorating. The gardens under maintained and especially away from the reception and restaurant just kind of junky and weedy looking. Building aren't kept up very well - real potential, over priced for condition, and again the restaurant is a waste - eat out.

This was a great hotel for us. Traveled with my family of 3 and stayed in the villa. The room was very clean and comfortable. Good AC. Had a nice view of the volcano even though it was overcast and rained everyday. Staff was very polite, helpful, and replied to requests almost immediately. Pool was beautiful. Restaurant and breakfast were very good. Safe and quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was very nice and comfortable, but what truly stood out was the staff going above and beyond to make my son’s birthday special. Per my request, they arranged a cake for him, which meant so much to us.

A beautiful setting with flowering plants, birds and butterflies. Clean with very friendly staff. The one draw back was our room was very close to the restaurant so that we had no wifi (my guess it was supposed to connect with the router at the restaurant but it didn't ). I could stand outside other cabanas and log in... First world problem. Otherwise quiet and nice. La Fortuna is a crazy busy town so you really can't walk from this hotel anywhere as the roads are narrow and cars are a bit fast.

We had a wonderful stay here with our 5 teenage/young adult children. I was skeptical that the views and the rooms were as great as the pictures, but they were even better. We had two villas near each other for 7 people and had plenty of space. The location is private, yet a short Uber drive to La Fortuna. The food at the restaurant was great, though not a huge variety. There is AC in the rooms, which wasn't obvious from the listing, but much appreciated. The staff was wonderful. Everyone was so friendly, attentive, and helpful.
If I had any criticism, it is that there are no loungers at the pool, only chairs. And yeah, it rained pretty hard on a couple of days.
Overall, it was the perfect choice of hotel for us and I highly recommend it.

We had a very nice stay. I would go back. If you have mobility issues the cottages are uphill a bit but you can take a ride in a golf cart. WiFi in the back cottages was spotty but I think that is common. The view was amazing and our kiddos enjoyed the unique shower.

The reason we gave 5 stars is because of the very friendly helpful staff! We are very picky about beds and pillows and we slept really well! Even though this place needs updating it provides everything you need! Breakfast was awesome too! We saw toucans the minute we got there and heard howler monkeys. We loved the rustic atmosphere and authentic scenery! Our view was of the volcano too! How can you complain! Bar was fun at the swim up pool! We recommend this place for families! Loved our stay at Hotel Mountain Paradise! The place is beautiful, with amazing views of Arenal Volcano right from the doorstep, and beautiful rainforest all around. And all the animals around! Our bungalow was spacious, clean, and felt very private. The staff was friendly and always happy to help - they even helped us out with the travel crib for our little one. The hot pools was a great bonus and perfect for relaxing after a day out, or even during the rain. Would definitely stay here again—highly recommend if you’re visiting La Fortuna!

We spent 3 nights at Paradise Mountain Hotel, everyone was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very unique and very clean! We enjoyed sitting out on the veranda and looking at the scenery. Booked my trip to Costa Rica to celebrate my birthday with my sister. Madelyn made all the arrangements; from arranging our airport pick up and drop off to booking all our 3 excursions pre arrival. She also upgraded us to the villa garabito from the premium casita with a stunning view of the Arenal volcano. I have never had such a smooth trip with everything taken care of pre arrival.
Our rooms were cleaned daily by Josie. Fresh towels provided and was spotless. A cute towel animal was placed daily on my bed which was nice to come back to. The shampoo conditioner and shower get was paraben free and smelled great. Espresso machine was amazing with delicious coffee stocked daily.
The pool was clean with a nice temperature and Louis at the wet bar was amazing to chat with. His service was impeccable.

The security guard Reynaldo helped us get in our room upon arrival as our room key card wasn't working. He was really nice.
