Clean room with all the ammenities needed. Quite for a good nights sleep and good location for things nearby, however might be a little bit far out depending on what you're visiting so you spend a bit of time on the subway.
The table in the room was also too big and woulve been good to fold away because it made the room feel a bit cramped. Otherwise comfortable enough.

Kind staff, beautiful and calm hotel, in a relaxing area 10 min walk from the stations! Surrounded by coffee shops and a convenient grocery right across the street. They also let you create little baggies of bath salts for free which was a godsend after a long day of walking! Would stay here again :)

The overall customer service was good, and the staff were able to speak English well.

The cons, however, are the location, the air-conditioning, and the room space.

We booked their biggest room for 2 adults and 2 children, but unfortunately, the space was too small if you have two large suitcases — you could only fully use the two super single beds.

Only one sleeping pillow was provided per adult, unlike other hotels that usually provide two. The bathroom basin was very low, more suitable for children, and the toilet height was uncomfortable for taller adults.

They only provided two bottles of water for adults, with none for the kids, and towels were only supplied for the first night. When we requested extra water from the front desk to prepare milk on the second night, we were told to go to Level 4, but there were no jugs available to collect water. Normally, if there’s a water dispenser, shouldn’t the hotel provide jugs? How did the staff expect us to go all the way from Level 11 (our room) to Level 4 just to get water?

The worst part was the air-conditioning! The airflow was extremely weak, and the lowest temperature setting was only 20°C — we were literally sweating after returning from outside or after a shower.

Breakfast choices were limited and served only from 8:00am. to 10:30am., although they actually opened around 7:00am.

Overall, we will not return to this hotel. It was a nightmare for our family, especially with kids, to walk from the nearest station.

The area is a little on the quiet side - not so much to do, but it's nice to come back to somewhere which isn't so crazy and busy every night. The room is exceedingly comfortable and clean to the end degree. Daily service of towels and bed straightening. Lovely amenities such as essential oil and bath salts in the lobby. Excellent breakfast buffet delicious coffee and very nice and accommodating restaurant. Hotel was very convenient to transportation And absolutely lovely to look at.

Room was a bit small, but luckily I was able to upgrade. Close to the main street, so it can be noisy at night if you are easily woken up.

Hotel smells good walking in and is clean! A semi-double is a good size (for Japan), and I like that there was room on both sides of the bed. There's an area to get ice and water, but there is no hot water. There are also vending machines. There is no onsen at this hotel. There is a 24hr market and Family Mart in walking distance. Clean towels and water bottles brought daily, even when you have the \"do not clean\" sign on your door.

Nice hotel with a chilled vibe and the muted decor of a jazz bar. The reception always smells great from the essentials oils and dried flowers available to make your own bath salts. The rooms were quiet and comfortable. There is a artisan chocolate shop at the back of the hotel, which we got a piece of lovely complementary chocolate upon check in. Staff were all very polite and attentive. Breakfast selection were varied and food was delicious.

The location is pretty convenient with a bus stop outside and about 10 mins walk to a couple of subway stations. Also has a supermarket across the road and some eateries. A good quieter stay away from the hustle of the city.

This was our 3rd hotel during a 3 week stay on Japan, and while it doesn't have amenities like some other hotels, we found it down right lovely.

We were greeted immediately and checked in. The staff informed us that there were no amenities on site (such as a onsen or gym)but there was laundry, vending machines, a microwave and utensils available on the 4th floor. We were provided a complimentary chocolate from the luxury chocolate shop, Nel, that is attached to the hotel as well.

Our room was beautiful and spacious. I opted for a corner terrace suite that came with lots of windows and made me truly feel like I was on vacation. The hotel has greenery on the outside so it creates a tropical vacation feel while in the city. Rooms come with pajamas, coffee and water. You can pick up toiletries downstairs and they have complimentary bath bombs you make with salts, dried flowers and essential oils. We definitely made use of this for late night bathes after a long day of walking. The shower was large and had a deep soaking tub.

Hotels in Japan insist on cleaning rooms every 2-3 days to maintain cleanliness and safety. This is a nice change from western practices nowadays where most hotels will ONLY clean your room every 2-3 days opposed to daily if needed. On days we opted to not have our room cleaned, staff still left a bag at our door with clean towels, new bottles of water and coffee. His was my second time staying at Hamacho. It’s a beautiful hotel, with a lovely surrounding area only a short bus ride from Ginza and Akihabara, and walking distance to a few different subway stations. I had another wonderful stay - the only thing I will say is that this time my room faced the main road, and there was a fair bit of traffic noise in the evening. I didn’t have this last time. Obviously this is not something the hotel could change, just something to keep in mind if you're a light sleeper.

This hotel is nice and clean with friendly staff and you'll have no problem with supplies here. The rooms are much more cozy than anticipated but still gave us a nice place to stay in Tokyo! Easily walkable to many stations nearby, the only downsides is noise as a result. I would recommend to anybody on a budget that just needs a good place to stay!

We booked our stay wrong and forgot to book a night so we were very fortunate that they had a room for us and we just had to pay the difference for the one night extra. The staff were always very helpful and kind. The room felt a little small even though it had two twin beds but they were comfortable. My only complaints about the room would be the no closet just a rack and no safe. The hotel had a breakfast, it wasn’t continental but it was good. I liked that the hotel was in a quiet neighborhood.

This hotel is beautiful! The lobby is so warm and inviting, the staff is very friendly, rooms are very clean and up to date (and spacious, especially the bathrooms), the neighborhood is gorgeous and in the perfect location for transportation. Convenience stores/food spots within walking distance. Also, if cherry blossoms are your thing - there’s plenty of those around the neighborhood as well! (We stayed March 31-April 1 and they’re full bloom)

My ONLY issue is with the beds being a little hard - but that wouldn’t stop me from staying here again. :)

Truly excellent experience all around for our 4 night stay. 4 stars on comfort only because the beds here are a little more firm than we’re used to in the states, but it was expected. Loved nearly everything else!!
Front desk staff were incredibly kind and spoke English well which was helpful in easing my anxiety as a first timer in Japan. I asked about luggage forwarding to our next hotel and they made it quick and easy! (Total was $37USD for 3 suitcases)

The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful & our room was exactly as pictured which is what I was looking forward to most. I loved walking into the hotel each day because it smelled like a serene spa! The self-serve amenities were awesome! We utilized it every day. My favorite part was making my own “bath bomb” aroma therapy packet.

One downside I almost forgot— The dryer did NOT dry our clothes. Only 3 days worth of clothes and it was minimal. Ended up hang drying…

The hotel is about 10 min walk from the train station, 30-40 min by taxi from HND, 30-40 min to Tokyo Disney, about a 30min walk to Ginza, and about 10min walk to Sumida River. It’s near a fair amount of food/coffee/conbini too.

Others have mentioned it was a little out of the way, but this was the perfect place to stay for our first leg of Japan. We were looking for a quieter location and loved being able to walk and take in that part of town.

My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer! Thank you Hamacho Hotel. I hope we’ll be back again some day.

We chose Hamacho hotel for our stay in Tokyo over new year. I was aware that many bars and restaurants would be closed over the new year holiday so I specifically wanted a hotel with a decent bar and restaurant so that we could eat on site. Unfortunately the bar/restaurant was closed for the majority of our four night stay. Breakfast was advertised in the lift for 2,200 yen but the restaurant was closed on our first morning, on the second morning we went but it was a “new year buffet” for 3,500 and was quite poor with no fresh fruit. We had arranged for a family friend who lives outside of Tokyo to come to the hotel to meet us on the last night but as with the other nights of our stay the restaurant and bar were closed, we found it difficult to find something open close by so had to walk quite far. The hotel itself was nice, small rooms as is normal in Tokyo, helpful staff, nice public areas but it’s best not to think of it as a full service hotel. They were also unable to book a taxi to bring us to the airport when we checked the night before our departure m, they suggested we hail two separate taxis on the street but with an early departure we didn’t want to risk it so managed to book one online ourselves. From reading other reviews it looks like our experience of the catering facilities not always being available to guests wasn’t unique.

The hotel was amazing, with a great location. The surrounding areas were quiet, yet the hotel was well connected to the metro lines, allowing us to reach anywhere in the city in a maximum of 40 minutes. It was close to many good food options and a 24-hour grocery store. The staff were nice, and the room was clean and modern, although it was a bit small. I will definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Tokyo.

This was the best hotel we stayed at on our trip to Tokyo. It was a beautiful property, especially at night with its romantic lighting and occasional live music. It was convenienrly l ocated within 10 min of 2 stations, a 24 hour grocery across the street, and many dining options all within a few blocks. I do wish there was a convenience store a little closer, but having the 24 hour grocery was helpful. The staff was extremely helpful. The staff were so helpful when we needed directions, to get a taxi, and even storing our luggage the day we checked out. Our flight didn’t leave til the evening but they were able to hold all our luggage until we came back for it before our flight. They also offered a luggage delivery service, but you’ll have to do it at least one day in advance, no same day. The room was spacious for a Japanese hotel with a moderately sized bathroom. As some one who is accustomed to Western hotels this was an exceptional hotel for a fraction of western prices.

Beautiful hotel. The staff were so helpful and kind. The property is a nice 20 min walk from the market, shopping arcade, and pontocho alley. The bus stop is just minutes away and takes you places like Gion, and Arashiyama. The subway station is also around the corner. In my opinion a great location. Overall we had a wonderful experience at this hotel.

Had a great stay for 3 nights in a deluxe queen. The room was very cute, cleanly, and comfortable! Not much room for luggage but that’s pretty typical for Tokyo hotels. The staff was always super friendly and helpful. I loved the chocolate upon checkin and the bath salt station, lovely unique touch!
