Mostly good but the noise at night from the beer garden and restaurant was a bit of a problem - one certainly couldn't leave the windows open. I understand that this is not something the hotel can change but it would make me think twice about staying there again. And once all the guests outside had finally left the staff clearing up outside was anything but quiet! The AC in my room (26) wasn't working properly or, in any event, not very powerful. And this was during a hot weather spell. My brother in room 23 had a better AC but had to draw the curtains at night because the light fixtures on the wall outside his room (not mine) were irritatingly bright which was only helped partially by drawing the curtains. Mattress a bit tired and soft but otherwise the rooms were nice and the bathroom very clean with a good shower. All in all I think the noise factor is unfortunate and maybe the rooms should't be as expensive as they were given the fact that this is certainly not a quiet place.

Towels changed every day, whether used and hung up to dry or not. Eco-friendliness poor. Apart from that a memorable stay. There is a really nice self-service beer garden with a good selection of beer, ciders and wine. Very good food in the outside dining area, too. Friendly staff everywhere. The scenery next to the river Main is stunning and very calming.

I do love this place. Great room on the 2nd floor, overlooking the river. Room is very well appointed, with a Nespresso machine, Bluetooth speaker and Samsung smart TV. There are some restrictions on place at the moment and they are not serving the usual excellent breakfast.I'd think twice about going for the breakfast included option, for the time being.

Perfect for a weekend stay

Lovely, beautifully decorated room. The bathroom was up to date with walk-in rain shower and nice vanity. Plenty of closet space and in-room safe. Sparse continental breakfast at the front desk apparantly due to COVID-19.
Restaurant had a diverse menu with an excellent wine list. Service at dinner was great.
Location on the Main River was beautiful, especially at night with a view of Frankfurt.

I did not use the travel insurance and could not keep the hotel visit. The hotel was very nice and offered to change the date or just leave it open and paid for, for future need. Travelocity informed me that the hotel declined to support the plan directly offered to me. Who to believe? The policy does clearly state there is no Plan-B. With no insurance, you lose your payment. C-19, hospitalisation, what ever. Buy the insurance or lose the payment. Even if the hotel wants to help, they can’t.

The Location is great. The park next to the hotel is so much cleaner than in the city proper. The staff are very responsive to guest needs. I have a dog and the pet rooms are maintained very well. The complementary breakfast offer is appreciated but is a tad lean. Hot croissants are very nice, but a little butter or jam would be so nice.

Since, it was my first time in Frankfurt, Germany therefore I wanted to stay somewhere chic and unique for its hospitality. Hotel is unique in many ways such as being near to city river flowing by, neat rooms, excellent service and restaurant is one of the best in city(check out reviews). Main attractions are not that far from hotel. So much to explore, eat and wander around. Overall, had a lovely stay here and would highly recommend it!

Beautiful building inside and out, great ambiance throughout the hotel, comfy room with crisp bedding, spotlessly clean, warm and welcoming staff, great views from the restaurant... I have only positive things to say about our two-night stay here and would absolutely recommend to anyone. Little touches put it over the top—like interesting books in the rooms (we had one on design-led hotels that I enjoyed) and swings hanging from the tree out front. I would gladly return for another stay.

The hotel situated just beside a river and a park all along the river, very nice. It is a very quiet and pleasant area, and yet not far from city, just about 30 mins walk or even less. I had a very pleasant walk along the river to the city.
The design and layout of the hotel, as well as the room(junior suite) we were staying are impressive.
The only thing was the breakfast, I think it was pricy based on the type food served.
Would definitely come back!

The setting was perfect. Lunch outside beside the Main River with view of city skyline. Staff was excellent. Desk associate had cab waiting based on request the night before. Dining room atmosphere and food excellent. The best was the bar and lounge located in section of hotel that was still original 14th century stone. I can’t image a better place at great price to visit Frankfurt.

Fantastic hotel. Very comfortable, clean and fairly spacious room. We were offered a free drink of a value up to 15 euros upon check in which we had on the terrace by the river which was a lovely touch. Everyone who we spoke to at the hotel had excellent English. We did not try the restaurant at the hotel as it was very busy but we were able to find a lovely restaurant about 5 mins walk away through a forested area full of rabbits! A very comfortable, one-night stay

Fantastic hotel direct on the Main

Seriously this is one of the best hotels I've stayed at. I was greeted warmly on check in and, without request on my part, assigned a room over-looking the river Main (rather than the pre-allocated room with view facing the road. I was advised of the facilities and also given a voucher for a free, complementary drink at the bar. The room was \"amazing\"!!! Nespresso coffee machine, Smart TV, Bluetooth radio / music system and a bathroom with walk in shower. Breakfast was excellent. Great selection of cold meats and cheeses, backed goods, fruit, etc. I was offered a selection of hot, egg based dishes and hot drinks. I'll be back.

One of my favourite spots in FFM

I have been a regular guest for roughly ten years now. It is a wonderful place right on the river and the beergarden in Summer is unbeatable. Great traditional Frankfurt food with a modern spin is served and the wine list sports some great local wines. While I have eaten there literally a hundred times I have also stayed over night on a number of occasions. This time in a beautiful juniour suite. I slept like a baby and I will be back soon.

Nice if you can stand the smoke

The hotel and staff is very nice. The room was clean and comfortable. The only downside was that they left the door of the smoking bar open at night and our room was almost unbearable with the smell of cigarettes and cigars. I’m sure if you are on the second floor it would be fine, but the first floor opens up over the lobby so the smoke was sweeping through the door. We probably wouldn’t stay there again, because of this.

Chic Hotel with a great vibe

The bar that was located in the hotel was so really nice! The bartenders were really helpful and friendly! When we got to the hotel we were worried about parking but there was plenty! Downtown Frankfurt was a a bit of a walk to the closet tram stop, but a very scenic one. We walked the trail along the river and felt very safe, as there are runners and others walking.

Very nice hotel and calm location on outskirts of Frankfurt. Access to river boats/shuttles/tours right behind the hotel. Also had a great public viewing area for EM (soccer). Excellent breakfast area and friendly staff. Only drawback was extremely spotty WiFi that kept dropping the connection. Also, nothing else really in the area. Just lots of peaceful tree-lined riverbank that is very popular with runners and bike riders.

Nice hotel, but needs attention to details.

We enjoyed the location near a walking path and relatively near public transit. Staff were very helpful and the restaurant was very good. The included breakfast was very good (cold buffet and breads, etc + plus made-to-order egg dishes).

There were two things we did not Like - the queen sized bed was two smaller beds pushed together which separated easily...not cool. Also, since we were there during the holiday season, there were a lot of Christmas parties taking place. That was not the problem, but the profuse amount of smoking in the bar and at the entrance of the hotel traveled quite well into our room. Since we are both non-smokers, we found this particularly unpleasant.

A little out of the way - loved the quiet location

I stayed here for 1 night on business and overall found it to be mainly fine.
I liked the quiet location in the park by the river but found it a little out of the way when it came to going out for dinner. A taxi was always needed.
Nicely renovated building, lobby area clean and well kept and the views from the breakfast area are very good.
Check in/out went smoothly - staff polite and courteous.
My room on the 1st floor overlooked the car park. The room was a good size as was the bathroom. Wi-Fi was just ok and there were plenty of local & international TV channels to choose from.
The only bad thing I found was there was an oily footprint on the bare wooden floor at the foot of the bed. It looked like there was no real attempt to remove it which surprised me as it stood out so much.
Breakfast was fine. Not a massive choice but enough to cater for everyone.
I would stay again and would recommend The Hotel Gerbermuhle to anyone.

Good, but a walk

We were flying out of the Frankfurt airport so decided to drop our rental car off the night before and have an evening in the old section of Frankfurt. We wanted the hotel to be a walk back from the old section, but this one was a little further than we had realized - maybe an hour.

There was an option for the Ubahn, but it was under construction, no service. And, since the local soccer team lost a game, the staff suggested it might not be a good idea to take the tram. So we walked.

Taxi to the airport about 40 euros and 15 minutes.

The hotel is beautiful with a very good restaurant beside. We just spoent one night there, the room was modern and clean. The bathroom shower did not have a door so first shower got all bathroom wet.... The hotel does not have fitness center, if you are lucky and get good weather you can jog in front of the hotel which is beautiful

Festive hotel next to the river

Hotel Gerbemuehle was a 20 walk along the southern riverbank from the city centre of Frankfurt. It's styled like a ski lodge and all the Christmas decorations were up on our visit. Staff were very helpful, the room we had was very comfortable, some nice perks like free WiFi and complimentary minibar. Breakfast in the winter garden was pretty standard but the food was good. One thing we found was that the noise of children playing seemed to be right outside our room due to the large open lobby which rose to the full height of the building with rooms on higher floors surrounding this space.

Chose this hotel because it had parking and good reviews. We were not disappointed. Easy to find with good amenities and friendly staff. Nice location overlooking the river and parkland. We were upgraded to a suite room and we're very pleased with it - spacious and modern with lovely wood floors. Very comfortable. Breakfast was good in their nice conservatory. Only downside was it's a long walk along the river to the old city centre (30 mins).

The hotel was wonderful. Reception desk was extremely helpful in that I was having problems with getting in touch with the rental car place, they offered to call for me, and made all of the arrangements for pickup. Great way to kick off our european vacation, i highly recommend this place to anybody interested in staying near Frankfurt!

Poor nights sleep in a nice venue

Our room was on the balcony over reception and backing onto the delivery area. This meant it was noisy until gone midnight and from the first delivery in the early morning. The pillows were also uncomfortable which added to a poor nights sleep and influenced this review!

It is a fancy hotel and attracts a fancy clientele. Lots of business people midweek.

The decor is modern and stylish. Rooms very white with good lighting. Bathroom was lovely and the shower blissful. The minibar is stocked with a variety of soft drinks and chocolate which is complimentary.

Breakfast was good with eggs cooked to order as well as the usual german buffet to a high standard.

The bar is smoking which coming from the UK I forgot can be in a hotel and also the football was on a large screen which dominated so we sat in the lobby. Cocktails highly recommended.

Had a meal in the restaurant. Good view of the city. Nice food, not outstanding. Desserts were highlight of the meal. Nice wine menu.

In terms of location we got a taxi from the main station. €15 with tip in the day. Heading back to town we walked the ten minutes to Buchrainplatz and grabbed the no. 16 tram, goes to main train station via lots of good areas for food.

It is a nice hotel and I think in a different room this would be a different review, so just request not to have a room overlooking reception!

Great hotel on the river and only an easy taxi ride from the airport. Very friendly staff, good dinner and exceptional breakfast buffet. Easy walking distance of Sachsenhausen all along the river. All rooms have a walk-in shower which was great but not so good for bath lovers ! Bar was nice but spoilt by the smokers congregating in there, can't believe that is still allowed in Germany. Would definitely stay there again.

Recommended - great hotel!

Great hotel, very elegant and located along the Main river which has a walking/biking path along the river all the way into downtown Frankfurt. There isn't much close to the hotel but it has a great restaurant and a wonderful outdoor eating area as well.

Great oasis from the city

The hotel is fantastic. I was in Frankfurt for work and was a little worried to see how far out it was but the tram is only a 10 minute walk and it will quickly connect you to the SBahn. The beer garden is fantastic and breakfasts are also very nice. There are great running paths along the river as well. Highly recommend.

this hotel was wonderful from the standpoint of being beautiful with wonderful service but any traveler needs to understand there is NO way to get to this hotel other than car or cab. To get into the City Center or restaurants requires a cab ride and over a couple of days taht can make the price of this hotel alot more expensive.

Booked this for my brother and his best friend as part of a weekend get-away present in Frankfurt. They had never heard of this hotel, but were pleasantly surprised. The architecture and design of the hotel was modern, clean, but with a lot of character. Great location. My brother has traveled all over Europe on business and said he would go back to this place any time!

Feines Boutique-Hotel

Wir hatten eine Nacht in der Junior-Suite verbracht. Insgesamt hat uns der Aufenthalt sehr gut gefallen. Besonders hervorzuheben war das Frühstücksbuffet. Es war zwar nicht riesig, aber dafür hochfein, besser als in vielen Luxushotels. Es gab selbst gemachte Marmelade (Marillen und Rose) und herzhaften Aufstrich, ebenfalls mit frischen, hochwertigen Zutaten. Cherry-Tomaten waren reif und süß. Orangensaft war echter Saft und kein Nektar. Sehr lobenswert. Sehr freundliche, zuvorkommende Mitarbeiter. Natürlich sieht die Villa mit Tradition auch sehr chic wie vornehm aus. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist ebenfalls gut. Ich werde es weiterempfehlen.

Getränke kamen nach 40 Minuten. Das Essen nach 1 Stunde und 40 Minuten. Die Preise: sportlich! Das vorhandene Personal war sehr freundlich und bemüht. Die Kritik geht klar an die Geschäftsleitung. Viel zu wenig Personal für einen Feiertag wie Christi Himmelfahrt. Klarer Fehler des Managements! Die Qualität des Essens war OK - das Frühstücksbuffet eher spärlich, aber dafür inklusive. Lachs oder Rührei,- leider Fehlanzeige.

Am Empfang mussten wir 10 Minuten warten bis dieser besetzt war, das Gleiche auch bei der Abreise. Preis Leistung stimmt hier meiner Meinung nach nicht mehr. Offene Kabel im Flur, fehlende Bilder. Kein Bademantel und Hausschuhe (wie angegeben) auf dem Zimmer.

Wer Service und Komfort sucht, sollte weiter in die Innenstadt gehen. Wir waren enttäuscht.

Kleines feines Hotel in historischem Gebäude. Top modernisiert, Zimmer sind sehr gemütlich und komfortabel eingerichter. Direkt am Main, super zum joggen, Radfahren oder spazieren gehen. Sehr gutes Restaurant mit großem Biergarten.

Schönes traditionsreiches Gebäude in ansprechender Lage direkt am Main.

Gutes superior Doppelzimmer mit Blick auf den Main. Leider schon etwas abgewohnt. Hier sollte wieder mal investiert werden… der Beistelltisch war voller Flecken und über den Teppich mochten wir nicht Barfuß laufen.

Sehr freundliches Personal besonders im Restaurant und an der Bar im Biergarten!

Die Damen am Empfang waren aus unserer Sicht nicht sonderlich kompetent. Auf unsere Frage hin, welche vergleichbaren Zimmer es zu dem bereits gebuchten Zimmer im Hause gibt, konnte keine Auskunft gegeben werden. Wortlaut: „Alle Doppelzimmer sind gleich…“

Die Steigerung zu dieser Inkompetenz kam dann nach dem Schichtwechsel in den Abendstunden.
Auf unsere Frage an die Empfangsdame, ob sie bitte ein Foto von uns im Foyer machen könnte, kam ein unfreundliches „nein“. - Unglaublich!

Auf unsere Nachfrage hin, wer diese Person denn sei, wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass es angeblich die Geschäftsführerin ist.

Alles in allem aber ein toller Aufenthalt bis auf die Damen in falscher Position!

Die Lage am Wasser ist genial, und das Parken vor dem Hotel so ziemlich einzigartig in Frankfurt. Man kann in der Gerbermühle auch hervorragend \"schlemmen\" .. die Zimmer sind klug eingerichtet.

Schönes Hotel in guter Lage. Großes komfortables Zimmer mit bequemem Bett, geräumigem Tageslicht-Bad, alles sehr sauber. Restaurant mit abwechslungsreicher Speisekarte und freundlichem Service.
Einziger aber heftiger Kritikpunkt: In der Hotelbar wird geraucht, daher ist diese für Nichtraucher nicht nutzbar. Der Qualm zieht sich bis in die Lobby und an die Rezeption - schade!

Am Hotel selber gibt es nicht auszusetzen. Sehr gepflegt. Top Ausstattung.
Lediglich nach der Frage zur Haltestelle Richtung Innenstadt bekamen wir einen veralteten Fahrplan.
