The only problem was the shower hose was leaking making it rather unpleasant when having a wash with water splashing over one's face when not mounting the shower on its bracket. The door for the shower cubicle tends to brush the shower mat out of the way when one comes out of the shower unit. A fault of the design of the shower cubicle. I wish the cups in the room are bigger for drinking tea and disappointing with such a small kettle. I don't particularly like the reclining couch which is impractical for two people to sit on and an extra chair would be more helpful. The location of the hotel is excellent being so close to the MRT and lots of eating places around.

The hotel did not look like much from the outside. The inside was simple but tasteful. The room was also simple but tasteful, well put together, functional and spacious. We appreciated the artful simplicity. Location was perfect. Walkable to food courts and MRT. Perfectly located. Great value for price. Staff were very helpful, courteous, kind and discrete. Great Chinese restaurant on the 3rd floor. Enjoyed our stay thoroughly.

We had a two night stay after our cruise from India and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The girl on reception was excellent and the service first class. It is in a great location with all services very close by and just down the road from Chinatown.

The hotel is newly renovated in good conditions.
Location is very convenient and opposite to MRT station.
The famous Maxwell Hawker Market and Chinatown are just within walking distance.
Only need to pay around $30 for getting a grab cab to the airport.

Ive stayed here many times. Its the best location for the MRT, boutique restaurants and cafes, for walking to most places. Most of all its quiet, safe and clean.

The main thing that I didn't like about this hotel was that it didn't have a business , but the desk staff was very kind to let me use their laptop without any fee.

I wished that they had a gift shop.

Best location plus value for money in Singapore?

Great location for those who like a comfortable mix of experiences. Easy access to the metro services/ easy to and from Changi Airport. Great access to local food with a food hall just across the road and 5min walk to Chinatown. 8min walk to waterfront. Yeah... Location location location... Hotel was fine. Biggest issue was the pillows, they are huge and uncomfortable. Beds are fine. Staff were very helpful and friendly. I felt it was good value for money given Singapores general prices and it's location. Room was clean in all the important places, but I could get a bit picky about some of the dusty higher shelves and under bed but again for price it didn't bother me. Thanks would definitely stay again!

The hotel locates in the good area convenient to travel by all transport means. staff was friendly and helpful.The room is clean except height of the tower hanger which does not suit for ppl 1.5 m tall like me. the tower hanger is almost 2 meters high and i had the backboneache when trying to take the tower down.

We did not have much of an interaction with the staff as we did not have any issues; hence the rating as pleasing. As everything else was excellent I am sure the staff are just as good.

Very happy with our room, it was clean, well decorated, spacious and unbelievably quiet and comfortable.

The price was slightly higher than some others who also have an excellent reputation, but were delighted with our choice nevertheless. It was great way to finish off our time in Singapore.

There are many hotel choices in Singapore. I’d recommend choosing another option if travelling on business. The biggest issue is the internet is unusable. The staff is aware and was unable to improve it. I could not work from my room as planned.

Hotel is generic and clean. Slightly dated rooms not fine for a nights sleep if you need. But would recommend choosing elsewhere for an overall better experience.

The Orchid is in a great location near the MTR and lots of restaurants and bars, but the hotel itself looks tired and the room a little shabby with peeling wallpaper and marked surfaces.

Lovely modern hotel close to marina. Very welcoming and accommodating staff. Good sized room with a good view and nice bathroom. Great pool area. We did get to the restaurant once for the al carte menu- we had to wait a bit to long and the food was a bit average, with my partners lamb being completely over cooked. The t.v in bedroom was very out of satellite service also, some channels un- watchable. All round though a lovely stay.

When we arrived for breakfast at 9:15 we were reminded 3 x that we had to be gone by 10 AM. My husband had the buffet dinner and I had (more expensive) a-la-cart, but when I took one tiny cake from his dessert, I was told I'd need to pay for a full buffet dinner if I did that! Too much fear of loosing a dollar. makes people very uncomfortable

When I come back, I'm staying here again.

I chose the Orchid because I was a little familiar with the neighborhood and it was an affordable choice. It was a great choice! The room was very nice size, the bed comfortable with a selection of pillows. Bathroom nice, climate control great, staff helpful and efficient, and the neighborhood was great. 2 blocks to Chinatown, Hawker centers all round, fantastic (and expensive) restaurants all round. Shopping malls, subway is close, safe, walkable neighborhood, and an excellent Bagel shop a block or so away. I stayed here because I'm on a budget and the Orchid far exceeded my expectations. The furniture is dated....so what. It's a great place to stay

Lovely hotel and in a good area, convenient for the subway trains. Staff and friendly and the room clean and comfortable. The only thing that bugs me was that as we were 3 people with large suitcases we had to order a large taxi/mini bus from the concierge which cost us even more than it did to get from the airport to the hotel which was at a premium rate anyway due to them being airport taxies. I suppose it is all part of travelling.

The hotel and out family room, 1712, was elegant and spacious with great views over the city. It is a short walk to China town and 4 minutes walk to food courts and supermarkets as well as cafes. The pool is beautiful, clean and is open 6AM-10PM. All the staff very helpful and polite. We will stay in this hotel form now on.

A lovely, well sited hotel.

Located a few mins walk from Chinatown plus lots of good restaurants very nearby.
A good varied breakfast is an optional extra we enjoyed, however their tea was made in a large glass pot with two tea-bags, so very weak.
A wonderful infinity pool is a real plus.
The lifts have a key-card function to prevent illegal access to floors, but the numbers of the storeys are very tricky to read.
Clear and efficient reception.

Nice hotel. The bed had very poor cover with holes in it. On complaint this was rectified.
I now note that they have charged me for a security deposit which was to be credited however this has not happened to date.

Impressed with this hotel and its surrounds. Across the road fromTanjong Pagar MRT station, with direct link to Changi Airport. A variety of bus routes, including the 400 bus to Gardens by the Bay, can be accessed within a few hundred metres. Good places to eat and drink all around.
Rooms are clean and spacious. Only criticism would be that temperature in the shower was a little variable.
Would happily stay here again.

Everyone was very friendly and efficient. When we checked in we were given twin beds. Within 10 minutes of calling, the office sent someone to remake the bed. We didn’t check out the restaurant. Lots of eating places nearby. Coffee in the room and a fridge. Will stay there again.

There were many mistakes. I don’t mind the mistakes themselves as they always happen (I make one too) but how the hotel staffs approached them was disappointing. From the beginning, my reservation name was completely misspelled. Very rude non-constructive conversation like this is your right name by the hotel staff (already told them it wasn’t. Pls look at my passport which I showed you repeatedly). I was asked to pay for my breakfast at the restaurant although I was told by the hotel staff to just sign there and pay later when I check out from the hotel. I had a meeting in the morning and so I checked it with the hotel staff beforehand. The restaurant staff didn’t care what I was told. I decided to just stop the conversation and went straight up to pick up my wallet (I don’t wanna be late for my business meeting). The location of the hotel is good.

The hotel had really big rooms, was in a really good location, convenient stores, small restaurants nearby and a 1-minute walk to the train station. Although, the bedsheets were not totally changed, the comforter were rehashed for the next day. We were allowed to leave our luggage until our night time flight and to use the shower at the pool area to freshen up even when we were already checked out.
