I stayed here on several visits in the past and was given clean rooms. For some reason room 318 was filthy and I can hear children running inside in the room above at 2 am in the morning. Couldn’t get any sleep.

While Hotel Pacific was conveniently located to the wharf, it lacked in a few areas. I was very disappointed with check-in. The wait time was a bit unreasonable. While the room size was pleasant it lacked in cleanliness. Very dusty and cobwebs along the patio door and in the corners. But honestly the worse was the tv remote, clearly it had not been cleaned in months! The patio area outside was disappointing. Very unkempt and the tree roots were everywhere with no manicured lawn! It made sitting outside unbearable. The one thing I can say is that the bed sheets and towels were clean and crisp to the touch. And, the bed was pretty comfortable. Personally, I would have second thoughts about staying here again.

The hotel was beautiful and close to cannery row and downtown Monterey. This hotel is NOT ideal for families with young children or if you have any mobility issues as there are many stairs cases. They do have accessible room options, but even then, the hotel is a little challenging to navigate. Parking was a challenge as well. The lot was full. The person that arrived before me had prepaid for parking, but were unable to find a spot. We ended up parking on pacific street which was very busy, and has only 2 hour parking Monday-Saturday, which we ended up getting a ticket for. Additionally, it can be challenging to find your room if you arrive after dark. Our room was on the 4th floor and the elevator in our building was out of service and we are traveling with a 9 month old. We selected a junior suite with a balcony. The room was spacious and well designed, but the bathroom did appear to have mold in the shower which was not ideal. The continental breakfast was standard. French toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, yogurt, whole fruit, bagels and toast.

Pros: Very Spacious rooms with patios especially if you have kids and furbabies. Hot breakfast was good. Breakfast lady was super friendly and accommodating !

Cons: All elevators were out of order except one that is way in the front and farthest from our room. We had to carry 5 suitcases through 3 flights of stairs. Nobody informed us at check in.

We have been going to hotel Pacific for over 10 years and as of these recent 6months - the care, quality and cleanliness has sadly declined. We had to change rooms 3x due to bathroom door broken, cobwebs in every corner and over beds, wall fixtures broken, broken toilet bases, hair on bathroom shower walls. Basically a lot of cheap landlord fix jobs. Neighbors smoking weed on balcony. The hot tub was filled with animal hair and slightly green. It is going to be super noisy for any room facing pacific street. The rooms we were placed in was 204, 205, and 306.

The staff is very friendly tho and only offered to move rooms which was appreciated but even more disappointing and frustrating was when each room was worse than the next. Property is in such a good walking location to everything that we didn’t mind the parking charges. The room sizes are big and spacious especially for families but don’t sleep on the floor. It’s sad that the one controllable factor is cleanliness of the rooms and that is being heavily neglected.

Yes, book here. Or actually don't, then they'll be room for me to return. This was an amazing set up. Spacious room with fireplace, balcony, the windows opened, ceiling fan, two showers, a couch, two extra chairs, a table set, walking distance to everything. And all this for the proce we paid....just no complaints! So glad we booked two nights for a quick get away. Planning to come back with my family joined by my friend and her family.

There was some bacon on Sunday, but gone when we arrived and never refilled or provided as an option again. The sausages and biscuits were also barely warm or cold. Good breakfast options and the fireplace and living room area in the rooms were cute. Walking access to downtown and the wharf was great! My main complaint was the noise. The design of the room with the bed being arranged against the wall to the outside of the room near the front door: the hallways were tile/cobblestone so every time someone came by in the night with a suitcase or housekeeping with the laundry bin (which seemed often) it echoed and caused loud clattering.

We stayed for 2 nights here. It was overall a comfortable stay, however, the hotel could use some upgrades. The property location is great, it looks pretty from the outside, but the interiors could use some up keep. Our room was spacious and clean, but the bathroom smelled horrible the whole time. The breakfast was also not very impressive, especially when you're paying so much. I feel with a few upgrades, this place will be amazing to stay.

Room was not ADA compliant and we had to change rooms and that was not ADA compliant either. I tripped over the curb stop in the hotel parking lot handicapped space which was extending into the pathway. I landed on my cheek face down on the pavement and bruised my face, knees, hurt my foot, and neck and shoulders. I reported it at checkin. No one ever called to check on me. When we walked into the first room they gave us, there was a doorstop right in front of the bed and my husband tripped on it and bruised 3 toes! Toilet was not raised so they then switched us to the only
other ADA room they said they had. Toi

not ADA height and this room had a tub. I had reserved ADA with roll in shower because i have a bad knee and hard to get over the tub. Doorstop was in the correct place in the second room. Most ice machines were not working and we had to ice our

The hotel is quite a bit old and that’s fine, but they should keep up with repairs in the room. The floor in my room has holes, there’s repairs that the ceiling needs, the water coming out of the faucet leaves a nasty taste in your mouth, the elevator smelled like urine, etc. I would not recommend this hotel. This hotel should be no more than $150 a night at best. I feel like I ripped off.

We had two large suites next to each other on the quiet side of the property with a fireplace and balcony, which was nice. Both suites were large with a sofa, dining table, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. It's an older property and the rooms were a little dark and dated. Also the elevator on our side didn't work so we had to lug our bags up two flights of stairs. The breakfast was simple but just right for the kids - scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, toast, cereal, bagels with cream cheese, orange juice, coffee and tea. The parking was a bit tight but it's walking distance to the wharf and there's a free trolley that comes around every 10 minutes. The staff was very responsive when we asked for towels and to refill the conditioner. There's room for improvement but the price was good and the location is good.

The location is perfect, the suite was spacious, clean and comfortable (I believe ours was the “Luxury Jr Suite” with 2 doubles) and the staff was kind and always available. The Elevator closest to our room was broken at the time, the stairs were manageable even for us on the 4th floor and we were able to bring our luggage up to the 3rd floor on the working elevator but that is something to keep in mind. The breakfast was good- eggs, bacon, french toast, cereal, bagels, yogurt, etc. The hot tub is on the small side but we were able to get in on a night when most people were probably checking out, it was perfect for the 3 of us and very relaxing after a long day of exploring. There is a free trolly that stops within a short walking distance of the hotel, and the walk to Fishermans Wharf (and all of the shops and stops in between) was not bad at all. Overall we genuinely enjoyed our stay.

Hotel Pacific was the ideal home base for a weekend getaway in Monterey! I stayed here with my partner and another couple and we had an absolute blast. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location couldn't have been more convenient for exploring everything Monterey has to offer.
A big bonus — the hotel is dog friendly, which is always a plus when traveling with your furry family members. It's clear they go out of their way to welcome all guests, four-legged ones included.
Monterey is such a gem of a destination and Hotel Pacific made the whole trip even better. Would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay in the area!

Unfortunately during my most recent stay the bathroom in my room didn’t seem to have been cleaned before I arrived. Perhaps only the linens were replaced. There was hair on the shower walls and on the floor and someone’s hand sanitizer had been left behind. I’d still recommend the place because my other stays have been pleasant.

We had a bad experience with this hotel. When we checked in, it took the hotel staffs three times to make the room keys work. Then, the shower handle falls off. The water pressure was at minimum when showering. The kitchenette faucet has no water. The toilet, after a couple flashes, overflows. We stayed two nights and they were nightmares. We warned the front desk personnel as well as the manager to look into their practices. If these deficiencies persist, they may not have future patrons to support their business.

Please do not pay over $300/night to stay here. It is a worn-out, tired property with dents in the room walls, elevators and ice machines that don’t work, broken pocket doors, and patios that overlook sewer lines. The common areas and rooms need a full overhaul. The breakfast was awful and the check/in experience like a Motel 6. Not worth paying more than $125/night. I actually would accept a full refund without feeling bad.

We absolutely loved this hotel! The room was beautiful with high ceilings, a balcony, fireplace, sink area, microwave, and mini fridge. Everything felt very comfortable and cozy. We also really liked that the bathroom had both a bathtub and a shower.

We enjoyed spending time in the hot tub, and the location was excellent. It was an easy walk to both the pier and downtown.

The breakfast was not very diverse, but everything was tasty and well prepared. We also appreciated that breakfast was served until 10 AM, which was very convenient.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back.

My Gf and I’s stay was pretty good overall. My main complaint would just be how certain things were maintained. Their elevator was out of order and while that’s not a problem taking the stairs from the 4th floor (where our room is located) to the garage to get some stuff, it can get tiring. Staff were very friendly and the free breakfast was adequate. The room looked very cleaned, however upon entering the room we also noticed one light switch broken. Again, pretty good overall with just a couple minor complaints.

I recently stayed at the Pacific Hotel and was disappointed with the overall experience. The room was not very clean, which immediately set a bad tone for the stay. The hotel also advertises being close to Cannery Row, but the actual walking distance was much farther than what was posted, which was frustrating. On top of that, the receptionist was unfriendly and did a poor job explaining the charges on my bill. I would not stay here again.

We checked into the and immediately were hit with the smell of bleach. The bathtub had something brown and gross and the carpet next to the bed was very wet. After putting a towel down it soaked through. Clearly something occur the night before and housekeeping tried to clean it up. But did not communicate to the front desk that this room may not be ready that day. The staff did have another of the same room available which we moved into. So there was never a reason to give us the deity room to begin with.

The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. One thing to note is that the building is not very accessible for guests using crutches or wheelchairs. The elevator got stuck during our stay, but Nick was extremely helpful and went out of his way to assist us getting to the garage and navigating the property. Very outdated, didn’t feel clean. Many upper spots I noticed hadn’t been dusted in awhile. Breakfast options were good, staff was helpful and friendly.
