I found this beautiful boutique hotel by accident and so happy I did. I spent two days on complete bliss. The location was central to the French Montreal. Close to metro. The restaurant serves authentic Ethiopian food. The cocktail prior to and dessert to follow was exceptional. I highly recommend. Adam was a wonderful host each morning with a cappuccino and croissant. I will return.

Everything was SUPERB. We spent one night in the penthouse suite, and it blew any hotel I’ve stayed at out of the water. Completely worth it - and honestly, better value than what you would get at hotels. I’ve stayed at the W in downtown Montreal, and this was even better. The bathroom was enormous, jacuzzi was total luxuriating, kitchen upgrades were so versatile and well thought through. The lighting and space was intelligent and beautifully decorated. It was artsy, fun and the staff was were impeccable. At 4am after a fast airport run, I returned and my key didn’t work. A staff member came up right away and solved it for me without any wait. In the morning they give a complimentary latte and croissant delivered to your room.

This boutique hotel is NAILING it. They are attached to a delicious restaurant and patio, which you can easily order to your room if need be.

I will be back. What a treat ❤️ thank you so much!

Cannot recommend highly enough for welcoming stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Kutuma. Our only regret was that it was a stopover for just one night so we couldn't enjoy it more. It was a beautifully-decorated, updated room with an extremely comfortable bed & variety of pillows. The tv connection was a bit spotty but that wasn't important for our stay. Our tub was deep and the shower was high-tech (actually took me a while to figure it out!) I'd recommend the valet parking (only ~$32 CAD) to lessen worry about street parking in a busy neighborhood. The connected restaurant looked AMAZING, can't wait to go back & try it. It's a family-owned property, and Adam was such a gracious host, truly wants your stay to be incredible. Leo checked us in and he was so welcoming. There *are* quite a few stairs if you are on a higher floor so be aware of that. Everything was fabulously clean and new. Loved it!

The location was perfect and the staff were incredibly helpful, kind, and all around wonderful. This place was an incredible value, and I would certainly stay here again. There is a daily rate to valet park the car, which I highly recommend, as parking in Montreal is limited. Once you are in the area everything you would like is within walking distance or a short Uber ride away. The staff were excellent here helping us with the luggage, the car park, breakfast, and anything else we contacted them for. The room itself was spacious and included a kitchenette which was a nice surprise!

I recently stayed at the Kutuma Hotel in Montreal, and I had an excellent experience. From the moment we arrived, the friendly and attentive personnel made us feel welcome and well-cared for. The service throughout our stay was exceptional, ensuring all our needs were met promptly and efficiently.

A nice little gem in the Plateau

A lovely little hotel with a beautifully outfitted room. Friendly and responsive management - we felt very welcomed. The bed was comfy, and the room was quiet and we had a great night’s sleep. The room also had a lovely and well designed kitchenette with everything one needed. The location is great - very close to Metro, and walkable to a lot of great Montreal attractions, neighborhoods, dining, and shopping. Valet parking was a nice, reasonably priced convenience: delighted to not worry about the car and having to figure out street parking.

Gorgeous and luxurious African-themed suite with every imaginable amenity and comfort. We felt so pampered. Lovely staff who assisted with valet park and luggage and getting us settled. It is a convenient location, perfect for biking and walking. The room was nice, shower was awesome and the pillows were great. The room was on 4th floor & required navigating stairs- there is no elevator. It was difficult getting heavy luggage up and down. That was the only drawback.

Really lovely boutique hotel. Service was really outstanding. Offered to carry bags in from car and also carry upstairs. Used valet parking service as well which was worth it since we couldn’t find any available street parking nearby.

The room itself was large and clean. Bathroom was also very spacious. Could definitely smell the food from the restaurant below throughout the building, even on top floor… which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, because the food smells incredible.

Our room was on the top floor and there is no elevator, so just be prepared to climb 2-3 flights of stairs.

Would stay here again if we were on a lower floor.

Great location in the plateau, steps from hundreds of fabulous restaurants, about 30 minute walk to the Old Port and Old Town and same to Mont Royale. The service was impeccable at front desk, they have 15-minute reserved parking in front of the hotel where you can pull up to unload your items if using valet parking, which is what we did as we were there 4 nights and we walked everywhere. It’s hard to park in that area so I’d recommend the valet service. Front desk hosts helped us carry all of our luggage and items up to our room from our car (there is no elevator at this hotel), and they had our car back waiting for us early at 7:30am on the morning of our departure and again helped us to load up our car (we had LOTS). Our Room was very nice, (rm 203) African themed with small kitchenette (fridge, cook top, sink, espresso machine, kettle and toaster, there were two plates and a few utensils, pots, pan, but I’m sure they’d bring you anything you need as they have a beautiful Ethiopian restaurant attached to the hotel. Bathroom was cool with LED coloured lighting behind mirror and under the tub. Nice “rain” showerhead too. Small outdoor space (which I think might be fire escape) but does allow for some fresh air. No screens on the windows so did,t open them. Free wifi, safe in the room for valuables, iron and ironing board, and a super comfortable king size bed. TV had some English channels too. I’d return here for sure! We had a great stay and a great time from this location.

There is no indication that this place lacks an elevator. We were on the 4th floor. Our key card for the suite stopped working twice. Fortunately a staff member was on the floor for the first time, the second time I had to go back down 4 flights to get it fixed, then back up again. The tap for the sink in the washroom was broken - no hot water. We reported this and they 'fixed it' but then the hot water tap would not shut off, so we just closed the hot water access to the tap. No one checked the suite to ensure that we were not running out of anything - we asked for more toilet paper as we were running low after a couple of days (roll was only partially full when we checked in.) No new roll was provided and we just squeaked through. Staff we spoke to were nice, but the place felt a bit grungy. I asked for a receipt from the hotel, but they declined to give me one. I will not return to this place.

Its a unique and beautiful small boutique hotel. The Ethiopian restaurant was wonderful. I traveled during Covid so not much contact with anyone and the place was empty. Its not in Downtown Montreal, the location worked for me as i visited a friend living in the area.

This small hotel is great. It is my second stay at Kutuma, and I would stay there anytime I am in Montréal. Every room have small kitchen area witch is very convenient during this pandemic, if you don't want to eat take out food all the time; this being said the restaurant attach to the hotel is excellent and deliver directly to your room. It is very easy to get to the subway or the bus to go anywhere you need. I recommend this place for a more homely stay in Montréal. Thank you!

The property is a boutique hotel with 9 rooms. The rooms are tastefully done and are much more comfortable than a regular hotel room. The food and the drinks in particular at the restaurant are really good.

Service was good for the most part. Restaurant staff could be friendlier.

While it’s quite the norm for a hold to be placed on one’s credit card at the point of check in for incidentals, it was a concern that staff wanted to scan a copy of the credit card as well, especially when credit card fraud is such a worldwide concern. This practice should be reviewed asap.

All in all would recommend as a place to stay in Montreal.

Amazing suite! Loved the room and hotel. Very quiet hotel with responsive staff. Wonderful location in a great walkable neighborhood. Price was very good for such a great room. Really appreciated how helpful and supportive that all staff were during our stay. Oh, and great jacuzzi tub!

Only minor annoying thing was the shower. There isn’t a separate shower - it is a “rainfall” shower head over the jacuzzi tub! So, using it as a shower is difficult. Water gets everywhere on bathroom floor, no curtains, and a little bit dangerous getting in/out. The water pressure was extremely low, as well. But overall, this was a minor thing.

Small Gem in Montreal

Incredibly nice - family run small hotel. Rooms have limited utensils and coffee / water boiler. Location is in a very hip section of Montreal. Walkable to many venues, but car parking requires valet service at extra charge (service was very prompt). Internal restaurant has breakfast (at charge) and nice dining facilities. I would highly recommend this location, and would stay there again.

Updated room, friendly staff, quiet hotel. Room had nice comfy king bed, a/c kitchen unit. Ask for instructions to use the coffee maker, stove, we weren’t shown and tried to figure it out ourselves. We walked to a NHL arena, old Montreal, is walkable, but a good half hour walking fast. Not your average room layout like big hotels, has good history like the area. I’d stay here again, but I’d use transit more
