No check in/out issues. Didn't actually talk to anyone-access was all remote. We couldn't find bedding for the pull-out sofa, but we made due. Everything else was clean and hassle free.

I thought the Fenway Hotel was a great hotel. From check In to Check out there was great Communication. The bed was very comfortable and never woke up whole night. The shower was also very nice. They had small refrigerator and a microwave in room. Had a non keyless entry to your room. Free parking on south side of hotel building. If in area again will come back forsure.

When we arrived, no one was at the front desk. There was a sign that said to pick up the phone and call for someone to come down. Then a young teenager came down the stairs in shorts and socks. We went up to check out our room, and were immediately disgusted with the conditions of it. There was food smeared in the microwave and the tables and mirror were filthy. The bathroom was horrible, not fit to use. The sheets were not even changed and had blood and stains from food on them, and a bug was on the bed as well. We immediately went back downstairs and told the girl that we were not staying, that the condition of the room was absolutely unacceptable. I told her that we had previously done cleaning work for a realtor that had B&B properties, and I know what is expected when a room is reserved. The girl kept apologizing and offered a free night stay, but we would never go back there as unsanitary as it was.

Fenway House -Think Twice

This hotel was a big disappointment. They do not clean the rooms during your stay. I had to ask for fresh towels after two days and they gave me one more wash cloth, hand towel and bath towel, no fresh bath mat.

There is never anyone at the front desk. You have to call a number if you need anything.

The HVAC in the rooms is substandard. The window AC unit had to be set to 76 degrees (it was 80 degrees outside) because at 70 or 72 degrees if was freezing in the room. At night I froze because any heat was too hot. Leaving the unit off, the room would get to hot. None of the windows opened or were in working order.

Historical charm

This little hotel is a nice step back in time to the turn of the last century. Everything is quite simple, but provided for. There's a front desk cage that isn't occupied, but you just call and a friendly person will check you in.

Upstairs, there's a nice Fennimore history book, along with the \"Coffee Shop\" that has what you need to make coffee in your room, along with tea. Also provided are earplugs in case you're staying street-side (Highway 61). I didn't use the earplugs as the traffic dies down into the evening and night time. I was street-side and when I heard it, it was more like the quiet hum of car going by.

The rooms aren't the generic hotel rooms you'd stay in within a city or suburb, uniquely old hotel. The only out-of-place accoutrement (other than modern basics like TV, microwave, coffeemaker) is the chuegy box on top of the toilets. Everything else gives a nice feel for 1905.

If you're passing through town and need a place to stay, this is a good choice.

This place is absolutely gorgeous and very quaint with much history to it. Rooms are very comfortable and accommodating. Fell in love with the lobby and it's beautiful charm. We arrived late after a long long drive and they texted to make sure we were well and estimated time of arrival so they were present to greet us and make sure all our needs were met. Which all were. Definitely look forward to staying here again in the future.

Room was cozy and clean. The property is dated, but that certainly adds to the charm.

There was some confusion with getting checked in. They wanted to charge me for the stay even though I had already paid via Expedia. After two phone calls everything was sorted.
