My friend and I stayed 6 nights on the 18th floor. Only two elevators are used for floors 1-18. One had been down before we checked in, and was still when we checked out this morning. So very long waits to go up and down.

Housekeeping wouldn’t always give use clean washcloths (even though we got fresh hand and bath towels), so we had to call to get clean ones.

There is a $45/night resort fee on top of the price you pay on Expedia. This allows you to get 10% of a few restaurants in the hotel. I came to Manhattan to tour the city sites and restaurants-not stay and eat in theirs. So not happy that this isn’t made clear when booking your reservation!

It was not the staff particularly- it was the system that is so confused, so rigid, so UN-HUMAN that it was constant difficulties and frictions. This is not customer service- and the fault lies with the owner/operators.

The people here in the hotel that I speak to with my mouth do not have control over the system- and the customer suffers. And in my case particularly- since I was recuperating from an illness and I THOUGHT that having staff and a concierge and amenities would be helpful.

Instead they got almost no sleep and constantly reoccurring headaches problems issues with lost communications. It was awful and I’m moving to another hotel.

It looks a nice hotel. But I was really frustrated with a shortage of the stuffs at front desk and the elevator issues. They have only 2 elevators (2 left elevators are actually not usable to this hotel guests), and they are not enough to serve the number of their guests. I had to wait more than 5 minutes or more every time I used them, and it stopped almost every floor even though no one was there. They also have almost no amenities available in the room and the phone at the room was broken to call any hotel service. I will not consider this hotel anymore.
Also, they charge you $100 resort fee at arrival. Be careful!

Great location, great staff, clean room, huge bed.
Now for the bad. If you dont like city noise, select your room carefully. Windows definitely are not soundproof or even slightly noise reducing, street noise (sirens, horns, etc.) was prevalent all night, but hey, it is the city! Other issue is lack of elevators. Be prepared to wait!
Overall though, excellent experience and great location just south of central park next to Columbus Circle and Carnegie Hall.

Only one elevator was working all week which led to 20 minute wait times to leave or return from our room on the 18th floor. There was no ability to control the thermostat in the room and the windows only open a crack. The room was stuffy and hot which made it difficult to sleep. One the 2 mattresses in the room was caving in on one side and very uncomfortable. Location is excellent. Walking distance to Central Park, theatres and Times Square.

I have stayed at this hotel so many times I've lost count. It was always my go-to hotel so I even did so while I lived in NY and had to stay overnight for business. That was then!

Unfortunately, my visit this week will be my last. The hotel is tired and worn and dirty. My first room (1065) looked like a Motel 6, if that. There was a stain on the bedspread; lamp shades were lopsided due to no finials; I had to fight with the drawers to get them into the dresser. Safe was broken or not working. Carpeting was filthy.

I asked for a different room and got one. It was better but the carpeting was also dirty. And the safe also no working. The amenities are a bar of soap and a tube of lotion at the sink. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are on the shower wall.

We met a woman who was sent up to a room that was still dirty and not ready. Her first and last time, she said!

The lines for checking in and out are horrendously long bc they bring in large economy tourist groups who may not care. There are 2 small elevators on the left side of the lobby and maybe 3 on the right side so give yourself extra time to get down to the lobby with luggage.

The bar area is comfortable and roomy. The hotel staff is very pleasant and accommodating so no complaints there. The room attendants were great!

Overall, I give the Park Central a 3-4 at best! Don't believe the website!

100 year old hotel in the center of all the action. The staff including front desk and housekeeping were friendly. The room temp was cold and they sent maintenance with a portable heater right away. The hotel also has live music on the weekends. The bed was very comfortable too

This was my third time to stay at the Park Central. I love how easy it is to get around to a lot of places from there! There’s a subway station right around the corner, plenty of places to eat, and it’s only a short walk to Times Square! The staff is always so nice, the rooms are very clean, and this time I think they waived the resort fees! 10/10 would stay here again.

The hotel was ok. Elevators took a really long time. Early check in was verbally confirmed but at arrival, it wasn’t and we had to wait 3hours but at least the bar lobby waiting area was comfortable.

We called housekeeping for extra pillows (4) and they kept delivering 1, for 2 nights in a row. Lots of miscommunications from calling housekeeping to the actual order that was sent.

Location was great and convenient. Overall ok stay.

Our stay at this hotel was disappointing from the start. The room had an unpleasant odor, and the overall condition raised concerns about maintenance and cleanliness. The bathroom lacked an exhaust vent, and the mirror appeared to be a peeling sticker rather than a proper fixture. Several outlets and light switches were noticeably crooked, and the carpet was in very poor condition—we even found a nail clipper on the floor, which was unacceptable.
Additionally, a drawer handle was broken and left hanging throughout our stay without being repaired. The elevator situation made things worse. With only two elevators serving a large hotel, they were consistently overcrowded and stopped on nearly every floor, making it frustrating to get around.
We had originally booked a five-night stay, but due to a flight delay, we arrived late. Unfortunately, our reserved room had been given away. While the staff eventually provided another room, it appeared to be of significantly lower quality.
Finally, our experience at the front desk was not welcoming. Ana, the attendant who assisted us, came across as unfriendly and lacked a customer-focused approach from the beginning.
Overall, this was not the level of service or quality we expected.

Great location near Radio City Music Hall and Central Park. Not a big fan of Resort fees especially when you feel it is not a resort. Also paid for 2 people for breakfast and the name of the business on the card did not match the vendor for breakfast but they said that is place. They were out of croissants and would not change the 2 croissants we paid for the one muffin they had so we had to pay for that. Staff at the breakfast store were very rude and told hotel staff which also did nothing to make the situation better. Do yourself a favor and don’t pay for the breakfast upfront or maybe consider other hotels in the area. Less then a block from NY Subways but so are many other hotels.

The staff did not go above and beyond and were sometimes rude. We also forgot a pair of headphones, and no one was willing to help us or even pick up the phone to assist in getting them back.

Service was slow, and the hotel looks much better in photos than it does in reality. Overall, it felt like the staff didn’t want to be there.

The staff was professional and very accommodating. I was in NYC for my daughter's surgery and she did better than expected. The hotel agreed to let me out of the third night so I could stay at her home as long as I let them know the day before.
There were several teenager/young adults on my floor that we're running the hallways at 1am in the morning so that was annoying, but overall a good visit.

The staff were all wonderful -- helpful, friendly, and efficient! This is a great location, within walking distance of many things and kitty corner from Carnegie Hall. The bathroom had a nice big tub, and the room didn't feel as tiny as other NYC hotel rooms. My only complaint is that this is an older hotel and feels very dated and worn out. My room was so \"old\" feeling that it had a bit of the \"ick\" factor. Also, when I got to my room, the windows were wide open (in March's colder weather). I was on the 6th floor, and it just felt strange. I was just there for a night so it felt tolerable, but this is not a \"luxury\" hotel, even though the building itself is very impressive!

I booked a room with a king-size bed, but when I arrived at the hotel, they didn't have one available. Instead, they gave me a room with two queen beds. When I lay down, I noticed there was blood on the sheets; I called the front desk to report it. I believe a manager came up to the room and said they would come to change the bedding, but they never did. It is a really lovely hotel—it's just a shame that I found something like that on one of the beds.

The staff were friendly, but there were a number of issues with the room - one being that the aircon/heating didn’t really work. I booked a corner room with two views and it apparently is a common problem. Eventually we were given a heater.
The hotel is really well placed for Central Park (5 min walk) and Time square 10/15 min walk. It’s near several underground stations.
The customer facing staff were lovely and helpful - rooms could do with a bit updating but we were very comfortable (ask for a kettle and you’ll get one)

The room has definitely seen better days. There were rips in the carpet, stains on the sheets, stains on the chair and the bathroom could have used a deep clean. Bathroom mirror was actually scary. All service was outstanding with the exception of the front desk.
