I loved my stay here! When I first arrived I was greeted by a very friendly front desk person. I don't remember her name (I think starts with an M) but she was amazing and so easy to talk to. She recommended some places for me to visit and always took the time to say hi and chat with me.

The room itself was very large, clean, and so comfortable to stay and work in. It's central but far enough that you don't get much noise. It's close to great places to eat and great coffee spots! They also have umbrellas for you to borrow which I found so helpful since it was raining most days.

If I come back to Prague, I would love to stay here again.

The property is nice & modern, but the electrical outlets are not user friendly. The coffee maker is hidden inside the cabinet & difficult to use. Also, the bathroom, although very nice, it’s not equipped with grab bars for safety especially for seniors.

Breakfast was really nice. lots of healthy options , the fresh sourdough baked in the hotel was so good I bought a loaf to take home . the Room was really nice, it was quiet and private . I was hesitant from the photos that the hotel might not feel warm or may not feel luxury but I was proved wrong, the hotel was built 20 years ago and has really stood the test of time. The top floor Gym and Sauna were great and felt really easy to use ... Staff were really friendly and welcoming and good at their jobs nothing felt like it was too much to ask they were always so accommodating and professional and happy. My only improvement would be to the courtyard garden which could do with a bit of love from a gardener for a day as it felt a little underwhelming of its potential but it was still March so im sure it comes to life in Spring time , it was still really nice though, the hotel feels like a hommage to 1970s Modern design . Id definitely recommend staying here especially if you like style and good taste.

We had an amazing stay in Prague at this hotel. From the start the location is great and, the staff were amazing from the start so, accomodating and friendly. We had a superior room and it was lovely the room all the amenities and, the room clean was spotless. We had breakfast in bed for my girlfriends birthday and it was lovely. On top of this they made some cake for her and gave a bottle of wine. Which we came back to Sunday evening which after being out all day was a lovely surprise. It was worth every penny and couldnt recommend it more.

The hotel was centrally location which was great to walk everywhere, the rooms where quite small, the housekeeping one day came in and refilled our refrigerator, but didn’t make the bed or clean the bathrooms so we had to go up and ask for housekeeping - it was little strange, no conditioner in the shower only soap and shampoo, the AC works, but not the best! The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful when we needed anything.

My partner and I love everything about this hotel. The staff was very cordial and welcoming, the room come with a complementary minibar in the fridge. We will definitely come back to this hotel the next we visit Prague. It’s close to main tourist attraction, restaurants, shops and nightlife.

I did not have a great experience at Hotel Josef. Upon arrival I was told my room was ready, but it took 30 minutes for me to actually get my key with no explanation. I booked a balcony room but no mention on the site that some balcony rooms have city views while some have a “view” of a dirty courtyard and dilapidated and under construction apartment buildings. At checkout I was told breakfast was not included even though when I booked it was. Going in for breakfast staff took my name, marker me off and hade me sign a slip but made no mention of the fact that

Usual for Europe issues with air conditioning made it hard to sleep at night. Very hard bed and very soft pillows didn’t help. I didn’t get any sleep in 5 nights.

Our stay at the Hotel Josef was exceptional from our arrival to our departure. The location was fantastic, within walking distance of many attractions, Cafes and Restaurants.5 mins to the mall, short distance to Old town Square, astronomical Clock, Charles Bridge, etc. What sets Hotel Josef apart from other 5 star hotels is the well trained, amiable and personable staff. They were all professional, helpful and fluent with languages. From Wanda, to the other staff members who all helped us with restaurant selection and reservation, directions on how to take the tram to Prague Castle, housekeeping services, my family felt well taken cared of throughout our stay last March. Bathrobes, slippers and re fill of drinks were a nice add on. Our room was maintained everyday with Egyptian cotton beddings. They prepared a bed for my daughter which I really appreciated.
They accommodated us on the 5th floor and view was amazing and from up there it was generally quiet. Breakfast was buffet and can easy order from the menu. The baked goods were all freshly made. The restaurant and bakery staff were attentive to guests. Ambiance was very nice and clean. Security and welcoming staff were all courteous. Overall, I'm impressed with Hotel Josef and I hope they will maintain the excellent quality of service and hotel amenities through the years.

this is a very good hotel overall. unfortunately, though, it is currently undergoing renovation, and this creates many problems.
the lobby is closed, and there is a bell you have to ring to enter through the underground garage. well, the bell wasn't working, and i stood there, in -10 degrees, waiting and not knowing what was happening. in the end, i called reception and they came to get me, but someone else might not have an EU functioning phone.

secondly, the room was cold. i switched on the heating, through central air con, but nothing happened, and there were no clear instructions on how to operate the heating switchboard. the following day, i asked, and THEN they told me that there is a problem with the system, and they offered to send a portable heater to the room (which they did promptly).

a third problem is that the bathroom area in the room has a small step (which is a problem at night if you're not aware of it), and the glass 'wall' separating the bathroom from the room is very transparent, and I bumped my head on it once... they should put a ribbon/sticker on the glass.
to make up for the renovation issues, they are offering free breakfast to everyone, which was excellent. But really, they need to address all of these problems.

Everything was great, especially the hotel staff! But if you want to rest at night, NEVER take a front facade windows rooms. Bars downstairs, drunks’ scream shout yell sing fight all night under hotel windows till 6 am! Plus municipal garbage trucks pickups all night. No chance to sleep normally. Take rooms on the inside). But the property is wonderful otherwise.

We like our room to be very cold when sleeping so opened the window at night. Only downfall with that was all the noise. (we were there over the weekend so it was busy) Overall- would stay here again.

Hotel Josef was very hospitable. Our A/C in the room stopped working and they made new accommodations for us with a complimentary bottle of wine. Max the bartender had some great jokes! The breakfast had many choices and we looked forward to a cappuccino each and every morning. The mini-bar in the room needs a little help though. It's only a 15 min walk to the Charles Bridge and all the shops. Great hotel.

Impossible to open to bedroom door. Even the staff had lots of difficulties to let us access our bedroom. Every evening we were locked outside our bedroom.
In the bedroom light switches and
USB ports didn't work.
There was a hole in the bedroom wall, with electrical wires coming out of it. They had hidden this behind the curtains.
Dirty towels on the 2nd day.
Even if they apologised all these issues and a noisy bedroom under their gym made the stay really unpleasant.
