The room, the staff, the location and the food were fantastic! The room, so comfy and much bigger than expected, the view from our balcony was beautiful, the staff could not do enough for us and the food?? One of the best dinners I had during my 19 day visit to Italy. The breakfast items available were delicious and so many options. They even had fresh honeycomb for their delicious bread. I hope someday I can return to this wonderful hotel.

A charming hotel. The most lovely, colorful bar and reception area. The buffet breakfast was outstanding!! quality food, and the most excellent staff!! the pool was perfect and also great pool attendant. The mattresses could've been a little more comfortable, but overall it was an excellent stay. great view! friendly helpful staff.

We stayed in the Annex building and we had problems with the hot water in the shower. I reported it and they made it a little better but the hot water pressure in the sink and shower is much lower than the cold so the showers were not good. It would have been better if they extended the rain head away from the front wall.

This hotel was recommended to me through an Italian Facebook group. Thanks to that person, we had the most amazing stay in Sorrento. The staff were just the loveliest people who couldn't do enough to help you. Our room was fabulous, with the best view looking out over the ocean. The restaurant served up meals to die for. Everything was within easy walking distance from the hotel. Hubby said it is the best hotel he has ever stayed in. If we returned we would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful property. Great views, we had a room with a balcony, where we sat and had wine on the evenings before dinner. Giuseppe Maitre D is a hoot and helpful, Teresa dining room server is fantastic and Antonio the bartender can hook you up with any libation. Town is a short walk 15 min. We ate at hotel twice for dinner and twice in town. Good breakfast as part of your room fee.

Very Unique Layout with beautiful views, walk into town is easy breezy, walk back is a bit of a chore. Complimentary breakfast is very very good. Pool overlooking ocean is very nice however weather was not on our side to enjoy a swim. Highly recommend staying here price is reasonable as well.

We had an excellent stay at Hotel Minerva. The property is beautiful and the views are stunning. We felt like we were staying at an all inclusive resort. The staff was so nice and helpful, especially the lead host during the breakfast service. The pool and lounge area were a highlight for us and a nice way to relax in the heat. For some reason when we arrived to check in our expedia reservation did not show up for them but they did not question us and provided up with a beautiful room with a large patio overlooking the ocean. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the centre of Sorrento but it was a nice walk down hill along the busy highway. Overall we had the best stay at Hotel Minerva and will recommend this hotel to others!

The hotel is beautiful and the views spectacular. Most of the staff were great, especially at the pool. It is about a 20 min walk to the town center. It’s hard to walk back up in the heat, and taxi’s will charge you a lot for a ride. Better off taking a bus.

We had a great holiday based at The Minerva. The hotel may be one of the older hotels in Sorrento but the standard of accommodation was excellent, topped off with an exceptional view over Sorrento, Naples Bay and Vesuvius.
Best of all was the excellent service provided by the hotel staff, with everyone from the cleaners, waiters and reception staff happy to help with our attempts at basic Italian phrases.
We can happily say our stay was Molte Bene. Grazie.

Very nice property with great views of the sea. Great breakfast and very courteous staff. We did, however, have a problem regarding parking. We rented a car and went straight from the airport to the hotel. Their valet parked it. When we retrieved it the next morning there was a dent on the front fender that wasn’t there before. When we said something to management they adamantly denied responsibility. Luckily for me they had security cameras on, and after I asked them to review the video we never heard another denial. Disappointing in an otherwise lovely stay.

The hotel offers a very nice view of the sea at a good price, at least relatively speaking. Included daily breakfast is good but needs more daily variety. Air conditioning was weak, and the thermostat in your room doesn’t really change anything, when I called them about it, they said they will set it at a lower temperature on their end!! I’ve never been to a hotel that you can’t choose you own desired temp!! And even after they changed it, it took several hours to get the temp of the room down. You get one room key card and it needs to be inserted into a slot inside the room for the AC to work. If you open the balcony door or leave the hotel with the key, AC stops automatically and then when you come back, you have to wait again for the weak AC to get the temp down. It was a significant inconvenience. Also you have to walk 10 minutes each way to get to the main Sorrento street where all restaurants and bars are. It’s not a bad hotel but the AC issue and location will make me hesitate to book here again.

A stunning hotel with breathtaking views of the coast, from every aspect of the hotel, the room, the restaurant and the pool.
The food in the restaurant was excellent and the service from the waiters was top class. Nino was particularly passionate, charming and friendly as he talked though the menu and served us through our stay.
The rooms are dated but for me this add to the charm of the hotel and the view from the balcony more than makes up for it.

Amazing hotel with an amazing view!

Everything about the Hotel Minerva was outstanding! We had a room on the 5th floor with a spectacular view. The daily included breakfast was very good. Eggs made to order and lots of choices, including gluten-free for me. We also had dinner there one night, and the food was excellent, made even better by the amazing view. staff was personable and attentive. The hotel is a 15 minute walk downhill to the city center. But of course that means uphill for the return, but not that bad, or taxis are readily available. My only suggestion for improvement would be a shuttle perhaps twice a day. The rooftop pool was an added plus, again with a wonderful view. We have been to Sorrento several times, but this was our first stay at the Hotel Minerva. When we return, we will return to the Minerva.

Pros:
1. Absolutely brilliant view over Sorrento bay. The spectacular curvature of the shoreline unfolds in front of the hotel. Definitely, if you stay at the seaview rooms.
2. Balcony is a great addition to the seaview rooms, you can contemplate the landscape with a glass of a great wine
3. Bed was of a good quality, feeling rest after sleeping on it
4. Bathtub
5. Nice room design creates a pleasant atmosphere
6. Spacious room
7. Roof terrace restaurant with even better view and polite service staff with avaliable lunch and dinner
8. Descent breakfast
9.Rooftop pool
10. Free parking
11. Easy walking distace to the touristic areas of the city
12. Helpful staff
13. The hotel is not cheap, but stay there deserve every euro spent

Cons:
1. No bathrobes and no slippers
2. Minibar almost empty, only a bottle of still and a bottle of sparkling water
3. Reception on the 5th floor and no official stopping near the hotel, so if you arrived on car, you should leave it on emergency stopping and start to look for check in
4. No coffee and tea packs in the room for quick preparation, although e-kettle is in there
5. Upper pool is backlocated on the rooftop, it would be great to move to the front creating a feeling of \"infinite\" pool over the seaview through transparent railing
6. Parking is free, but valley so you have request for the car half an hour prior takung off.

This hotel has a wonderful view of the ocean and the rooms are spacious and well appointed. Some of the rooms are located in a different part of the hotel and you have to go up to the reception area and then down to your room. The pool on the roof is really nice. The breakfast had normal breakfast items, cereal, yogurt, cheese, meat, bread, pastries, etc. and you could order eggs.

The bell captain is so helpful. The room is spacious, however, renovation is needed as the furniture and bathroom equipment are a bit dated.

A woed of warning. The garage is the size of mine and they try and fit 8 cars in there. Plus the door is usually closed and you will drive right by it. Plus there is no where to pull over. They comped my parking fee so im happy with them. Room was surprisingly insulated from car noise and morning light. Room was clean. Pillows were flat. Had a fridge. But it was under the safe and could cook your electronics. Not too far to walk to town and port. Toilet sometimes smelled of sewage. Not sure why it did only some times. Heater worked. Good hot water.

This hotel is positively stunning! The views are outstanding and the property itself is so beautiful. So much thought and care has gone into the aesthetics and the staff are lovely. The pool is beautiful and the food and drinks are very well priced. Breakfast is served buffet style in the restaurant every morning and we were always provided a table overlooking the sea. They sometimes bring in a piano player in the evenings on the terrace, which was lovely. Overall, excellent hotel. Highly recommend!

My husband & I loved this hotel! Our room was much bigger than any others we stayed in during our stay in Italy. Sea view was amazing! It was about a 10 min walk into Piazza Tasso. Breakfast was very good and had many options. Pool area was great and had an amazing view. We ate a delicious lunch while at the pool. The only complaint is that one afternoon we got back to the room a little later than usual and didn’t feel like showering, getting ready, & going back out for dinner, so we had planned to stay in and order room service. Dinner is served 7-9PM in the hotel restaurant. My husband called @8:30 and we were told the kitchen was closed. Other than that, it was a wonderful hotel and we would definitely stay here again!

We followed Rick Steve's advice and are happy we did! We spent a week here for our 30th anniversary. We were welcomed to our very spacious suite (#609) with a bottle of sparkling wine and fresh fruit to celebrate our anniversary. The large corner terrace featured a table and 4 chairs plus 2 lounge to soak up the sun. The views of Sorrento and Mt. Vesuvius from the terrace are breathtaking. The bed is firm with no joiner when pushed together for a king size, but we still slept well and there was plenty of storage. Breakfast is included (half board) and is quite adequate. The highlight of the hotel, other than the view) is the large rooftop pool and terrace, complete with a bar and nice cafe (I recommend the Greek salad). Stefano is the main server at the pool and took great care of us, even recommending a great local restaurant and securing reservations for us. Only a 15 minute stroll to many shops and restaurants, I highly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel! Rooms are a little dated but clean and well kept. Excellent service from the staff and the views from the rooms and roof were amazing. The breakfast spread was awesome as well. If you’re ok with being a 15 minutes walk from downtown it’s well worth it for a relaxing stay.

Fantastic location. We were upgraded on checkin to balcony sea view room -a very spacious room overlooking Bay of Naples , Vesuvius and Sorrento. Breakfast service and choice in restaurant ( with more great views) was excellent. 15 minute walk into centre of town was easy. We ate in town 3 nights ( huge choice of restaurants and opportunity to watch Easter ( Good Friday ) processions. Ate at hotel restaurant last night - fabulous food too. Bus stop just outside hotel for buses to/ from Amalfi/ Positano ( but we walked into town to get bus to be sure of getting seat) on way back tho was nice to get off right outside hotel. Only minor downside - can not make tea/ coffee in room. Had to search for Barman and pay 2.50 each time wanted cup of tea outside breakfast hours.

We stayed at Hotel Minerva for three nights. The hotel is a short walk from center city ($20 taxi from train station if you have several luggage), but manageable walk to local sights. Our room was very adequate with a SPECTACULAR view. We dined at the restaurant twice and were NOT disappointed. Buffet breakfast was very good with attentive service. Our visit was in early November and tourist season was over. Therefore, we experienced a very quiet visit which we enjoyed. We would recommend this hotel. Wi-Fi good.

Nice hotel; great staff. Wonderful views of the Bay of Naples. Short walk into centre of town and public transport links. We stayed a week and did not tire of the hotel. Nice breakfast, too! Plenty to do in the area. We alternated trips out with \"rest days\" in Sorrento going to the beach, round the town, the hotel pool.
Only minor downside - we had a second-floor room so there was a fair amount of traffic noise - we didn't use the balcony as much as we would have done on a higher floor (5th floor restaurant terrace was really quiet by comparison). This is a small niggle and beyond the control of the hotel

Hotel Minerva - a gem

Our stay at the Hotel Minerva could not have been better. Our rooms were on the sixth floor and had magnificent balconies with wonderful views of the Bay of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius. The rooms were large and clean. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfasts were more than ample and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Sorrento.

We have stayed in many 5 star luxury hotels
around the world.
The service of the staff at the Minerva was as good or even better than many of the 5 star hotels and resorts.
We stayed there for 3 nights and had a room with a balcony.
The view is stunning.The location is very convenient.
The hotel lobby is on the 5th floor with a couple of cosy areas as well as a large outdoor terrace and
stacks of books that people leave behind.
Breakfast and dinner are not much to write home about.
This is an old property,though and is a bit tacky.

Fabulous- My Daughter and Mother stayed there several years ago and recommended it...no dissappointment. old style Italian furnishings, lovely room with open shutters to the balcony overlooking the sea, 10 minute walk to the center of town, the staff bent over backwards to help us with anything we needed, the food was remarkable, good local/ out of the area wine list and fairly priced with a wide variey of choices. I will definately return there and recommend it to anyone heading in that direction. When we left early in the morning (before breakfast) they gave us a bag of breakfast goodies to take with us.

One of the best hotels/location we enjoyed during a 4-week trip in Italy. Our room featured fantastic views of the city and harbor. Hotel staff was professional and friendly. Only drawback was that local taxis were so expensive we decided to walk everywhere, which limited our dinner options, but, overall this was a small price to pay.
