Beautiful guesthouse suitable for family with young children, love their tiny playhouse caters for children at leisure corner. Better experience if the place were to be given a minimal facelift, the kitchenette and wares were a little dated. Understood the importance of sustainability but breakfast selections were bare minimum. We were overall happy with our last minute booking, catch the most beautiful northern lights through our whole trip!

Checkin was easy. Room i booked had a small kitchen area, i did not utilize anything in this area. Basic bedroom and bathroom. Window facing the water, which was beautiful. Huge aurora show the night i stayed. Staff very friendly. Limited restaurant options/times at times during the year- so make sure to check into that. Outdoor seating nice, there were blankets available. Would definitely stay again. Wish we had more than 1 night here.

We had a great stay, nice staff, and very clean. We appreciated the option to purchase dinner, and it was a wonderful traditional Norwegian meal. Breakfast was also good. It was nice and quiet when we stayed in early September. We’d stay here again.

The young man at the front desk was very kind and appears to do everything there (check in, dining, cooking). However, there were no other guests there when we arrived at 6 pm and our room was very old, smelly, and not very clean. I asked if there was another room and we were shown one with 5 beds. It was ok, but still not clean, and mattresses felt plastic. Ended up leaving and booking another hotel about an hour away. I would not recommend staying here—it’s a pretty setting and has potential but we found it very odd there were no other guests (a little creepy) and again the room was just not acceptable.

这家旅店所处的位置周边的环境非常漂亮，小镇和农场随着起伏的山峦铺展开来，可以看到峡湾。但旅馆的设施很陈旧了，我们入住的是两套family room，其炉头是不工作的，并且水槽也漏水，向前台的员工申诉了他的解决办法也很搞笑：用一个水桶接在水槽下面，而炉头呢就给我们两块强力胶让我们把那个开关强行的fix住......, 想想就住一晚上，再想想周边的景色这么漂亮，也就没有太去理论了。

We stay there for one night. The owner is super friendly and helpful. We like the breakfast there, it is delicious with many choices. The choice on the dinner menu is very limited. We ordered two main dishes and two classes of wines. Price charged is reasonable. We can see the grass rooftop from our room which is very nice.

This place is located a little outside of popular vacation spots I heard about, but the view was stunning, and the fact that the entire roof was covered with grass was so cool. They kept the rustic feel to it in the lobby and the dining room, but the room looked modern and new. I chose this place because of the convenient location for our road trip, but I would love to come back just to stay there and relax for few days.

It's taken me awhile to write this review because of my powerful feelings towards my stay.
Everything was like a dream at Fjellkysten. It was the fairytale I'd hoped to find in Norway. The view from my room was more beautiful than any of the postcards of the area, everyone was incredibly nice (thank you, Tor and Matthew!), breakfast and dinner were delicious - the hotel even smokes their own salmon and has a (delicious!) exclusive Pale Ale brewed for them. :)

During my stay I visited the Polar Park and went on some hikes. There are waterfalls and so much beauty.

Be sure to take advantage of their jacuzzi and sauna! Sitting in the hot-tub there is an incredible view of the fjord and mountains - super romantic.
I can't wait to come back. But this time, instead of moving about Norway and staying all over, I want a longer stay at Fjellkysten... there was something so peaceful and relaxing - I want some more of the sleep, some more of the balance and calm I found here. It was almost like time slowed down... I miss it.

Feeling at Home Near the Top of the World

Tor is a wonderful and interesting host who makes sure guests enjoy their stay. Fjellkysten is stunningly beautiful with comfortable rooms that offer exceptional views of the fjord. Our baby of nine months also enjoyed his stay, playing with the toy fire truck and other toys Tor makes available. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all suburb. It was so nice to see Tor in action, doing what he loves to do: making his guests happy!

Sensibly priced accommodation with character.

Delightful setting with a breathtaking view from our room. I had some health issues over a weekend that were handled by the staff with genuine concern and a very satisfactory outcome. Wonderful people in a great country.

This is a small hotel, hidden well up a hill, with fabulous views down a fjord. It is apparently the longest grass roofed building in Norway. Our room was quite small, good for a one night stay. No hair dryer. The evening meal was a little haphazard, there is no menu, and there were three choices, of which we picked two, however, we both got the same meal! Coffee and tea available all the time, but not kept filled up. There only seemed to be a few people staying, but breakfast was sparse, and some things had run out by the time we got there, well before the end of the serving period. There was no-one around to ask for more. This is a lovely hotel, the public facilities are beautiful, and expanding, but it was let down by haphazard catering.

Mye spindelvev i ganger, skitne tannglass, mye støv på glass over dusj og andre steder, noen rom med kun rammemadrass, uten madrass eller overmadrass, toalettet var løst og holdt på å tippe, null ventilasjon, nymalt men slurvete utført, ikke TV på rommet, hyggelige ansatte, fantastisk kontinental frokost. Upåklagelig utsikt, romslig gratis parkering.

I could visit again

Huone oli kuuma, sillä aurinko paistaa suuriin ikkunoihin. Eteisen valo ei toiminut. Aamupala oli suppea eikä samaa luokkaa kuin Suomen isommissa hotelleissa. Ravintolan annokset on, mutta hinta -laatu ei ihan kohdannut. Sijainti on retkeilyä ajatellen hyvä ja 2 henkilön majoitus aamiaisella sekä 2 pääruokaa listalta maksoi vain alle 200€. Hintaansa arvoinen ja menisin uudelleen.

Kauniilla paikalla ihastella maisemia

Huone oli todella rauhallinen, hotelli on upealla paikalla. Aamiainen näytti aluksi vaatimattomalta, mutta siitä sai oikein hyvin vatsan täyteen.
Hauskat olkikatot, autoa sai ladata pihassa ( mutta maksullinen ja aika hidas). Isolta tieltä ei liian pitkä matka tulla ja aivan vierestä lähti merkittyjä vaelluspolkuja.

Upea paikka ja miljöö. Sängyt kaipaavat uusimista, jouset tuntuivat läpi selkään, muuten Sopiva huone ja mukava kun kaikki viisi henkilöä sai oman vuoteen. Aamupala oli hieman suppea, eikä lämpimiä ollut ollenkaan. Ilmoituksessa mainittu pelihuone oli pettymys lapsille, sinne ei mahtunut kolmea lasta yhtäaikaa vaan oli ennemmin lelukoppi, tämä oli kuitenkin yksi syy valintaamme joten se kannattaa poistaa mukavuuksista.
Tämä paikka sopisi hyvin vaikka hääkuvauksiin.

Fint lite hotell midt i skogen i Troms. Hadde en fantastisk opplevelse med kaldt vintervær og nordlys. Hyggelig personale og grei frokost - savnet dog bacon, men selvrøkt laks kompenserte greit for mangelen på bacon. Fikk et familierom nært resepsjonen. Sengen er litt lav - ellers alt ok.

Etwas abgelegen.

In die Jahre gekommen aber man hat versucht etwas daraus zu machen. In der Lobby trfte es aus der deke und zum Fenster rein. Wir hatten das Gefühl wir waren nicht wirklich willkommen. Eher unfreundlich und mussten uns sehr bemühen um ein Bier zu bekommen. Der Herr war sehr unfreundlich und mürisch. Ab 18:30 war da kein Mensch mehr weder im Restaurant an der Bar noch in der Küche. Wie ausgestorben. Das einzige war das Frühstücks-Buffet das war sehr gut und die Dame di da wahr war auch freundlich.

Igen en overraskelse

Fandt et spændende gjestehus lidt væk fra den trafikerede vej.
Fra vores anviste værelse var der en fantastisk udsigt over tætliggende vand og bjerge som baggrund. Fik serveret dagens menu til aftensmad i restauranten. Meget velsmagende. Fin service og hyggelig vært. Vi er et ældre ægtepar, men kan se at stedet også er børnevenligt.

Un hôtel qui a du charme, ne ressemble pas à ceux des chaînes, en connexion avec la nature. De nombreux espaces de lecture ou pour jouer ou pour boire un café. Nous étions en hors saison mais le personnel est quasi inexistant, le petit déjeuner correct (mais sans plus) et le dîner… très peu de choix (et même pas de dessert), un service lent! Par contre la salle a beaucoup de charme. Mais si on le souhaite on peut se faire à manger, il y a un peu de vaisselle, un réfrigérateur et une plaque de cuisson dans la chambre, cela peut être un bon plan.
Chose étonnante ici, le sauna est en supplément (avec le jacuzzi)

Værelset var fint, men når naboen havde gang i emhætten lød det som en stor kompressor i rummet. Rengøringen i fælles arealer var dårlig og der lugtede af cigaretter, terrassen var fyldt med gamle cigaretskodder. Vi havde glædet os til spa badet, men det var ude af funktion, hvilket først blev oplyst da vi var på hotellet.

Hotelli oli aivan mahtavalla paikalla. Näkymä peilityyneen vuonoon täydellinen. Hotellin yleisissä tiloissa oli kiva tunnelma ja yksityiskohtia mietitty. Asiakaspalvelu oli ystävällistä. Mutta huone oli vanha, ja sängyt tosi huonot. Kylppäri oli siisti ja remontoitu, remonttia kaipaisi loppukin huone. Äänieristystä ei ollut, naapurihuoneen puhe ja kuorsaus kuului selvästi läpi. Aamupala oli yksinkertainen, mutta hyvä.

Var ganske skittent på rommet, fant søppel etter andre gjester på vårt rom. Kjempe trengt do, var så vidt plass til et menneske mellom doen og dusjveggen, dårlig løsning. Hele gulvet ble fullt av vann på badet etter en dusj, da det ikke var helling i dusjen. Veldig hyggelig personal da.
