We love the Viking Inn! They've done a great job with clean, efficient rooms and a welcoming property for our little dog. It's close to one end of the main street and less than a block from the pancake house. The only changes I would welcome would be daily room service (were were there 2 nights with no service), the beds are VERY firm, and the bedding and towels are on the lower end of the scale. Parking is limited, but free if you find a spot.

Overall a great stay. Would definitely stay again. As for room 2, the front door seemed a bit off at the bottom, almost like it's been kicked in before. I'm not sure if there was room service available, but getting new towels, toilet paper was quick and easy.

The room was spotless and comfy. Really appreciate the set up to make coffee and tea since it was quite cold in the evenings and mornings. The fire pit was nice for that too. We stayed at an older spot last year so this felt like a night and day difference. Would def look into staying again :)

First off the property from the exterior looks clean. Sadly the interior isn’t exactly what the pictures make it out to be. The a/c didn’t work very well. The mattress was old and uncomfortable. The bathroom renovation was poorly done. The toilet is old and very low to the ground. The shower had mildew. There was no where to hang your clothes. The room had a musty smell to it. And the room was very small. I was bummed because the pictures really make it seem like the renovations are great and the room is going to be very nice. Paid to much for our stay.

Check in was super easy, no need to interact with a staff, the code sent straight to my phone. I was sick during the stay and the staff was able to find some medicine for my headache. Wiping floor with wet tissue = these floors are filthy. Weak AC. Cable TV nonfunctioning after extensive troubleshooting--watched TV via other means. Cable remote not hygenic. Hair wad on shower curtain. Fridge unplugged, took hours to get to temperature.

This was our second stay at the viking. Safe to say it's becoming our go to place in solvang. I love the rooms. The cute fire pit outside. The room is just what we need. Nice and clean and modest not overdone just has what you need. I love how easily accessible it is for us as cyclists not having to go up and down stairs while carrying our bikes. We love the viking and I'm sure we'll be back.

We do love the location and esthetics, as I’m Norwegian so I jumped at it because it also accepts pets!
We got a text code for self check in, it was wrong we couldn’t get in. The paper in the room had the same code. Why did it change on us? Thank god we didn’t arrive after the front desk girl left. What a horrible welcome.
We got in and it was somewhat clean, picked up is more like it. Beds were made nice and liked the decor.
The shower has black mold in the grout - super not ok. It doesn’t say if the water and coffee are complimentary.
The noise level is insane. We had crazy neighbors that came home at 1am and were yelling and screaming for 2 hours you can hear their every word! And in the morning at 7am slamming doors yelling - I can’t - it ruined our stay. We liked the outside courtyard and didn’t know how to use it, but it’s a cute idea.

Better than I had expected. Room was clean, loved the fact it has dispensable hand soap and in the shower the dispensable shampoo/conditioner/shower gel. Walls are a little thin so heard our neighbors but that’s not uncommon. Overall was very satisfied with the accommodations. Great location too! (And just as an aside, I stay in hotels for work all the time, my standards are pretty high).

Loved that the room had a microwave and mini fridge, plus a table and chairs for eating or visiting. Water bottles and an electric kettle with hot tea and coffee packets were a nice touch. My only negative was that room 2 I was in was closest to the main road and there is a significant amount of traffic sounds. However on the flip side being so close to everything was amazing.

Property was nice on the outside but I had a couple concerns. First, there was definitely black mold in the shower and the room continuously got stuffy. Even though it was quite cold we had to keep opening a window. Second, water pressure in the shower was terrible and took forever to rinse off shampoo. Lastly, mattress was very old and uncomfortable.

Room otherwise was clean, but the black mold and old shower with little water pressure was definitely an issue.

I booked a stay for my husband and I for Christmas. The inn was so cute you can definitely see how much time was put into making this place shine again. I loved it. The room was comfortable everything we needed for our four night stay. It was nice to be able to walk in to town we didnt have to drive anywhere. I also loved the addition of the fire pit as well. Super cool art with the cycling viking. Being that we are cyclists it was the perfect touch. Would absolutely stay there again.

We went to Solvang for a couple's getaway. Viking Inn was fantastic as it was close to the main shops but also removed to where it felt like a break from the hustle and bustle of the busy shops. The layout of the inn was great as we only shared a wall with one other room, but it was the bathroom wall. Viking Inn notes that they're remodeling, which is super understandable, and it's great that they're making improvements. My partner and I loved it and enjoyed the biking option. We also loved the Wine Passport! My partner and I loved the recommendations for wine tasting! While some minor repairs are needed, you can tell that this inn is being remodeled with lots of attention to detail and care. This inn was very thoughtful in their care for guests, and we are certainly returning! Thank you, hosts, for being so attentive and understanding and letting us come by to see your dog!
