stay away....hotel smells soo bad. The door to my room didn't lock. The TV was broken in my room and the side door on the first floor was a safety issue. The card reader didn't work, so the emergency exit door was left wide open for anyone to come in and out. We did not stay here after checking in, and deciding this hotel is horrible. Guess for 70.00 I should've expected this

Room was dirty, smelled musty, and everything was broken (toilet paper holder, towel holder). TV remote didn’t work so you couldn’t watch it. And the vacant room next to us had a smoke detector battery low so it beeped all night. Breakfast was non existent and the lobby smelled like weed. Even for the cheaper price, it wasn’t worth it. Won’t stop here again.

I booked this for my daughter’s 30th anniversary. She said the desk person was hard to understand. Her room had holes in the carpet which was filthy. The bed was lumpy. The night stand was dirty. Without question, the worst lodging experience she could remember. My attempts to reach Hotels.com were fruitless. Maggie, the desk agent advised me she had issued a credit to Hotels.com. I hope to learn of a way to easily resolve issues like this in the future. After decades of doing business with Hotels.com this is my first less than ideal experience. I would like to be reached at my cell phone on record as I do not enjoy texting.

My stay was real bad ,The room was not clean , It was Bugs in the bed, the bathroom was not safe to use for me and my family, The TV didn’t work and we couldn’t get the money back and we wanted to change room and we was told no they still had a lot of rooms available, So me and my family just sleep in the car.

It is an ok hotel... The only thing that I had a concern about was the smell of the room ... The carpet was wet like they tried to wash it and it made the room smell horrible #335 ... If your goin to clean a carpet U HAVE TO USE CLEANING PRODUCTS AND CLEAN WATER... It just smell like they used the dirty Water that was sitting in the mop bucket for days ago otherwise everything else was ok 💯

The bathroom had missing handles on the faucet.

The microwave was burned out and rusty inside, could not be used. I try to use one in the breakfast bar area that one didn’t work they said the power was out. When I asked for a replacement, they decided to put me in a different room, and it wasn’t much better.

The rooms were dark and dingy.

The bathroom was under maintain needs remodeling.

The breakfast was horrible had pancakes, old bagels, and I think yogurt was all I can recall. No meat or eggs or juice.

I actually moved to Homewood suites next door and it was 10 or 20 times better. We ate the expense of the new place (Homewood Suites) because the Microtel we booked was not refundable.

The photos online are misleading.

This hotel stinks, literally! From the moment you walk in, the hallways, the rooms! Just a nasty, smoking allowed, run down stench. It looks like they are trying to fix it up and make it presentable, but once you walk in, you’re better off walking out. Unfortunately, I booked a non-refundable room through an app. It was just a quick nights stay to catch a flight out early on. If you’re tired and just need a crappy bed and run down room for the night, this is the place for you.

This is my go to stay when travelling to Henrico, its safe and comfortable, the staff is incredible from front desk(every shift) to maintenence and the property staff to housekeeping...they've made a few updates, wich is nice and also now have coffee 25/7 , wich i really appreciate..I prefer the 1st floor , but arriving late wasnt able to get 1st floor but woundup being surprisingly happy with my room...I feel at home here and that type of comfort and safety is irreplaceable

I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The room did not appear to be properly cleaned upon arrival. The shower was broken and difficult to use, and the fridge was rusted and did not feel secure or safe. The TV remote/control was sticky and clearly had not been sanitized. On top of that, there was a very strong unpleasant smell in the room, likely caused by humidity or mold, which made the stay uncomfortable.
Overall, the room felt poorly maintained and unhygienic.

Honestly, I didn’t get a chance to read the reviews before coming. I figured I didn’t need a super nice hotel but something manageable enough for me to stay for the two days I’ll be in Virginia to tour a college.

This was the absolute worst experience of my life. It was so bad I wasn’t even able to force myself to stay the night.

They have stains all on the carpet, the pull out couch was so nasty and disgusting I didn’t even bother pulling it out in case there was roaches. The bed was the only decent thing in the entire building and even then I couldn’t sleep in it because the walls were dirty and so was the bed frame. It genuinely looks like a trap house rather than a motel/hotel.

The smell of the room was so thick and smelled like straight cigarettes. The smoke and thick are was so bad I legit started sweating the first few minutes we were even inside the room.

Tbh I don’t know why this is even an option for staying.

It looks nothing like the pictures so don’t fall for the same thing I did.

Let me start by saying I never expected the Ritz for the price I paid but I did expect clean. The room was musty, dingy and unfit for a dog let alone a human. Had to sleep on top of the comforter because there was a brown spot on the sheet. Couldn't shower because the tub had a black coating. I'm really not one to complain and it was after 7 when I checked in and I was tired from the long drive so I took one for the team. Then I couldn't even sleep because there was yelling and the cops came on two different occasions so now I'm fully awake at 2:30am. The front desk was abrasive when I asked for an iron and said I had to wait for the cleaning staff. Seriously???
I honestly couldn't get out of there fast enough so thankfully my son arrived at the airport early and I got outta there without even sampling breakfast. This hotel is an absolute disgrace to the Wyndham name and I really wish I had done by homework before booking.

This has got to be one of the grossest hotels I've ever stayed at. Non-smoking but there are burn marks everywhere and the hallway always had trash on the floor. The rooms were bad too, killed a roach next to my toilet when I first checked in, the sink was missing the knobs for the faucet, there was a sticky spot on my floor, the pillows were so flat you had to fold both of them in half and put them on top of each other just to keep from hurting your neck, the room was anything but soundproof I could hear people opening and closing their doors from all the way down the hall in the middle of the night. Pet friendly hotel but the entire staff seemed to be scared of animals, they wouldn't walk past me if I had my dog with me, also seemed like they didnt speak much english except for the front desk? My mom asked for an ice bucket because her room didn't have one and they refused to give her one. Our keycards stopped working after 1 day and we had to get them reset. When we first got there and were assigned our rooms, both rooms had their doors wide open, cleaning staff was in one room so I assumed cleaning staff was in the other as the tv was also on, stood outside the room and waited a bit and never saw anyone moving around, went inside the room and there was no one there, turned off the tv and it never worked after that.

We arrived at the hotel after midnight and had to wait for a few minutes for two staff members to check us in. The interior of the hotel had a terrible smell. Upon entering our room, we found a stained carpet, plastic-covered sprinkler heads that appeared non-functional, and black mold growing around the top of the bathroom door frame. The room was extremely unclean, with stains on the walls and light switch covers. It was a cheap hotel, but it shouldn’t have been this dirty.

I had to go get carpet fresh and pour on floors and sprayer ribbing alcohol on all surfaces just to stay there the maid the next morning let me use the vaccum to get it up the room smelled much better and had to leave the window open for my 2 day stay room was old stinking. Never again.

The first room I was given was a smoking room (no idea that was still a thing) and it had no A/C, so the window had to be left open. Hotel is next to the airport, so that made it very difficult to sleep with the window open. It was 80* outside and hot and stuffy inside. As it was a smoking room the smell was nearly unbearable. There were holes in the walls, as well as the shower wall and the closet door was hanging on one hinge. All the hallways smelled quite off putting as well. I give the staff a higher rating because on the second day they gave me a non smoking room. Thisnwas on the first floor and thebother clientele was fairly loud untilnlate in the evening. It was better but the first night was so bad that I am compelled to leave this review to let people know what they may be in for.

Im fond of this hotel & travel here all the time, i love the staff and i feel very confortable and safe , if it was updated could be a 5 star , but for me , nothing beats dealing with good people, & feeling 100 percent safe & convenience= the location is perfect and walking distance to food/stores, and a quik uber/car ride to pretty much anywhere..The owner & staff are such good people & very trustworthy...they will go out there way to make u comfortable...i will go there everytime I come to Richmond/Henrico b4 any where else..(just adding they have added brand new phones, alarm clocks and bedding, and tbh , there are some rooms that have pretty decent views at sunrise/sunset)

My experience with this property was horrible smell just like smoke and even have customers smoking in the lobby as I walked in. I as walk around the gentleman to wait the smell of cleaning supplies and old cigarette smoke was lingering in the air. The host and the gentleman began to argue about him not having toilet paper and the host responding stating the rooms wasn’t ready. With him saying this is his second night staying. I knew that was not the place for my family to stay!! Please if you a visiting Richmond I wouldn’t recommend staying at this property even with good rates.

I can only say its only a place for you to go and sleep. Room is extra small, TV is on the top of a closet! And no channels! There are apparent stain everywhere on the carpet, chair, and couch. No tissue box; breakfast has waffles and plain bagels and plain cereals. And no napkins! Asked the staff - she said “we don’t have napkins” without a “sorry” or reasonable explanation. No more Microtel for me. Who gave this property over 8 points is beyond me.

Room. Pillows had to be folded in half and still didn’t have a decent pillow asked for more they didn’t have any. Room obviously wasn’t properly cleaned-ashes still on top of microwave. Smoke detector was unplugged and hidden under microwave-OSHA violation. Windows didn’t lock-OSHA violation. Fire alarms going off middle of night with no explanation.
Stayed at many Microtels in other states never had this issue. Should get compensated for this miserable experience.

Knowing that a winter storm was coming, the staff failed to do even the most basic precautions for ice and snow. At a minimum, salt could have been put on sidewalks, but no, that did not happen. Instead, a computer printed message stating that the sidewalks and parking area was icey, and they were not responsible for any slips or falls.
