Our stay was perfect. The King ocean view room was beautiful and renovated with an amazing view of the ocean thru the canopy of the cliff side trees. The trees are the perfect wind block and it has a luxurious tree house feel. The room was very well cleaned. No traffic noise or noise from other guests. The staircase to the beach was awesome! And the beach out front has no crowd. This is truly a gem of the PNW and minutes from picturesque Seabrook and multiple beach accesses so you can drive on the beach. When we first pulled up the building looks run down, sign was missing, and I was like hmm… but the friendly staff and the room and the restaurant and the all around vibe of this place more then cancels out the large volume of deferred maintenance on the exterior. If this place is still standing… we will be back for another stay 100%. Step up and get that renovated ocean view room, it’s well worth the extra money. Thanks Ocean Crest!

Surprised this is listed through Expedia. This place is need of a serious update. The pictures on Experia are nothing like the real thing. Beds, toilet, shower, cabinets, landscaping are poor. The room right next to us was in total disarray, not under reconstruction, but like totally torn up. We could not even enjoy the patio without looking at this mess and the poor landscaping. We will never stay there again

The setting on a bluff above the ocean was beautiful as was the view from our room, but this building is old and weathered. They are now renovating, but parts of the exterior still look pretty bad. Our room was quite nice, with modern decor. Since we stayed on a Monday, the restaurant was closed so we couldn’t try it out. We did not use the indoor pool or sauna either.

The rooms were awful old dirty, and little, we tried to upgrade room but bc we booked through Expedia they did not let us. Felt like we got the oldest and smallest rooms just bc we booked through Expedia. The whole resort is old and falling apart. The boardwalk to beach is falling apart old pallets used as part of walkway. Overall the place needs a good renovation.

The location is unbeatable. Our room looked out over the lush ravine where a winding staircase takes guests from the top of the bluff, through the trees and rhododendrons, to the ocean below. The restaurant exceeded our expectations, both in views and food. We'd recommend this place for anyone looking for a low-key relaxing beach vacation. Great for families or a romantic getaway.

I'm not sure how to review this hotel. We had gone out of our way to stay there since the pictures looked good and it was oceanfront. The positives: a wonderful big pool and hot tub, ocean views and can walk down stairs to the beach, friendly staff, extras like a bathrobe, nice soap, etc.
The negatives: Our ocean view room was really old, I will try to attach pictures, but the doors, carpet, wood paneling... yikes. Pool hours (pool is across the street) were 10-8 for families, so we got in late and only had 15 minutes, they dont open in time for you to swim before checking out. There were holes in the ceiling tiles and the toilet wasn't secured, couldn't lock the bathroom door, and the traffic was really loud overnight. Why is the restaurant so fancy? $40-60/pp seems out of place and made us scramble to find something around there. Unless they did a big renovation i wouldn't stay there again, I cant give it more than 3 stars. :-(

Remodeled ocean view room was very nice. The only problems we had was not being told by Expedia that the restaurant was closed the days we booked. That was one of the main reasons for staying here. We were told after setting up all our plans and booking. The refrigerator also didn’t have a freezer area in it. Which caused a little bit of inconvenience for us.
Also the price for the room would have been cheaper I found out at checkout if we had called property and booked directly. Thought we were getting this great deal. Nope!

We rented a single room with a queen bed. It was old inside, with an old rug. Whole room seemed to be tilted, like it was built on the side of a hill. It caused dizziness when we walked. We also rented a 2 queen bed room, but it also was old. The only reason I knew it was old was because my daughter rented the same day as me and she got 2 queen beds, real soft beds, and new flooring. She was I guess in the \"new\" side of the resort.

View was beautiful, ocean fun but pool was poopy! The staff didn’t seem to mind and told us not to worry there’s bleach. There was poop at the bottom of the pool when we tried to go for a swim. There was also sand in our bed, and the children wanted to sleep on top of the blanket. Then we were accused of lying about occupancy in front of our three kids and told we needed to leave or they’d call the police. Nothing says relaxing family vacation like your 10-year-old thinking you’re about to be arrested for using the hotel hot tub you paid $250 to enjoy. The manager later apologized and said it was all a misunderstanding, which we appreciated. Nothing quite wraps up a luxury stay like pool poop, sandy sheets, and clearing your name before checkout. Other than these unfortunate happenings we had a wonderful time with our family and the updated room was beautiful.

It was amusing watching guests walk the catwalk and cross the road in their floor-lengh, hotel-provided bathrobes to get to the hotel's clubhouse to swim and soak.

This property will be difficult to \"check-out\" of because it has a cultish appeal that transcends the typical seaside vacation air b&b.

Stayed at Ocean Crest Resort in Moclips and overall had a really good experience. The location is hard to beat—easy access to the beach and perfect if you’re here for razor clamming. The grounds are well maintained, and it feels like a comfortable, convenient base after a long digging session.

The biggest downside is the traffic noise. Cars passing by can be noticeable, especially at night when everything else is quiet. It’s not a dealbreaker, but something to keep in mind if you’re a light sleeper.

Other than that, the stay was enjoyable. Great spot for clamming trips and being close to the ocean. I’d come back, just would try to get a room farther from the road next time.

We only stayed for one night, but we really enjoyed our visit. Our room offered a beautiful view, and all the staff members we interacted with were very friendly. We appreciated the wooden stairs leading to the beach, although it can be quite a climb if you're not in good shape. However, less than a mile south of the resort, there is a beach access point where you can drive your car right onto the sand. We had a blast driving the truck along the beach near the water's edge.

Although we didn't use the spa area, it looked nice.

I wasn't aware that I needed to book a reservation for the restaurant in advance, so it was fully booked when I checked in. Unfortunately, we couldn't enjoy it. From the waiting area, the restaurant appeared very nice, with a beautiful view of the ocean.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to check into a 1950s fever dream, look no further. The location is a 10/10, but the hotel itself is a solid \"Time Machine Broken.\"
Walking into the lobby felt less like a vacation and more like an estate sale. The air had that signature \"Grandma’s Attic\" musk, and the reception featured a glass cabinet of snacks that I’m fairly certain have been there since the Eisenhower administration. They’re also still trying to make \"DVD Rentals\" a paid thing. In 2026
Speaking of charges—bring a kidney if you’re bringing a dog. They \"allow\" pets, but its $$$
The walls in our one-bedroom were made of what I can only assume was high-quality tissue paper. I didn't just hear the people in the parking lot; I’m pretty sure I’m now legally a witness to their divorce proceedings.
Pro-tip: Don't be fooled by the photos. 90% of them are of the fancy, overpriced restaurant next door. Also, the \"walk\" to the beach is actually a vertical mountaineering expedition. We enjoyed the workout, but if you aren’t training for the Olympics, you might just want to wave at the ocean from the parking lot. Joking aside, if you like no frills whatsoever, reasonably clean, and decor from almost 70 years ago, this is for you. For me, the price was way too high for what this place was, and I wish I had known about Seabrook (5mins away) before I booked.

No, the ocean was not visible from my room. There are no pets allowed. The weather got really cold and the stairs developed ice, and I almost slipped and fell, and the girl at the front desk was unbothered by the whole situation and just said she’ll tell her manager, but there was no salt on the premises to keep anybody else from slipping on the stairs, the beds are extremely uncomfortable and the noise is not good either these are the rooms located close to the office. It’s just a bad location maybe the other rooms are OK the more expensive ones, but the cheap rooms are cheap for a reason.

The front desk staff at this property lacks basic hospitality. Upon arrival, there was no greeting or acknowledgement. When I inquired about checking in 30min early with my child, I was met with a blunt \"your room is not ready\" and no further info.

Later, due to a booking misunderstanding regarding guest count (we had 2 adults, 1 child), we were denied check-in. The staff offered no sympathy or assistance, only stating that our room would be reposted for sale before a refund could be considered.

Throughout the exchange, the communication was short, cold and dismissive. There were no \"thank yous,\" \"goodbyes,\" or attempts to provide a welcoming experience.

The service here is worse than a budget motel. If you value a warm or professional welcome, I recommend staying elsewhere.

Stayed in one of the renovated rooms. They are nice but attention to detail when cleaned is lacking. Stains on some of the walls and pictures, paint chipped walls, etc. Water pressure in shower is not good. Not sure if there is smoking rooms on site but sheets had a small small smell of smoke. Overpriced for 1 night stay, considering you cant check in until 4pm and have to be out by 11am. Once we checked in at 4pm, we explored the area got back at 8. Restaurant closed at 8 or 9 and we couldnt take advantage of pool/hot tub as it doesnt allow kids for the last hour of it being open, then doesnt open till 10am the next morning and you have to check out by 11. Staff at front counter was nice when we checked in and out. I would consider visiting again but not for 278 a night.

Under no circumstances should anyone stay at the Ocean Crest Resort.

My wife booked this property for our family to explore the Washington coast, but arriving left us stunned. The only visible sign said “Resort”—the “Ocean Crest” portion had fallen off. The exterior was alarming, with rotten wood, heavy moss, staining, and widespread decay.

This is not a resort by any reasonable definition. At best, it is a neglected motor inn. The advertised spa does not exist, amenities are minimal, the pool is across the street, and bathrooms were closed. Staff shrugged when asked where guests could go.

Our double queen suite was deeply unsettling. Floors slanted toward the ocean at roughly three degrees and felt soft underfoot. The balcony was moss-covered, walls and ceilings were damaged, carpets stained, and the room smelled strongly of mildew. Bath water ran black initially, and the toilet didn’t flush properly.

Management was dismissive, and the manager hung up on my wife. Photos online do not reflect the current condition; surrounding buildings and grounds appear abandoned, superficially repainted, and hastily reopened.

This property is unacceptable, unsafe, and unworthy of its advertised status.

I had only 2 minor complaints. The only type of pillow available was feather pillows -- I much prefer synthetic fill. The other was that the cleaning products used were a bit perfumed. I'm sensitive, and it took awhile to air out the room. The good surprise was that our suite had an unadvertised kitchenette with a mini-fridge, microwave, sink and dishes. We'd expected just a coffee maker.

The room was very outdated , no A/C, heater was on when we got there and it was unbearably warm in the room. We were told to open the window , a window where people could walk just by to get to their rooms and where the screen fell out when opening it.
No restaurant or food nearby , access to beach by lots of steps or by driving up the road for public access.

It was pretty, but the furniture was really uncomfortable. Who wants to sit on hard chairs? It's a 2 bedroom but there was one soft chair & one weird couch. It was better when we lowered the back & added a bunch of pillows. Also, I totally get upgrading your pool area but it would have been nice if there would have been one bathroom closed at a time or something. It would also have been lovely if there were more treats available for sale in the office or something.

We stayed in this room a year ago and it appeared to be the same. We love the room because of its amazing views and space. The room was clean and tidy. That said, the unit itself is outdated, needs to be refreshed, and repairs are badly needed to wooden doors and ceiling tiles. Draperies need to be cleaned or replaced. Kitchen utensils and cookware are sparse for a room that sleeps 6.
