Location in park like setting very desirable- still very close to center of town. Nearly adjacent to Aqua and Jorn Museum.

Grounds just lovely, tranquil. Rooms attractive though small. Hotel restaurant food only sampled at breakfast, but was good. Lovely terrace for breakfast in good weather.

We loved having an authentic Danish experience while staying at the hotel. We could have stayed elsewhere in a hotel that was like any other hotel but this hotel has an interesting history. Plus the property is gorgeous! The front desk staff were great!

Brilliant hotel, amazing stafff

Superb hotel, extremely kind and accommodating staff. Loved the breakfast, free bicycle use, beach towels, beautiful garden and walking trails. Dinner was of good quality and reasonable value, especially the wine. The hotel is well positioned relative to the town centre and swimmable Almind Lake.

Excellent stay. Very clean rooms. Hotel restaurant was fully booked but they made space for me and made me feel most welcome. Food quality was excellent. A special thanks for the lady on reception who was most helpful.

Nice hotel in the outskirts of Silkeborg

My friend and I had a really nice stay at the BW Premier Collection Gl. Skovridergaard. The hotel is in the outskirts of Silkeborg but you can borrow bikes for free or enjoy the 20 mins walk to the center of town. The hotel is a bit outdates but still nice and the beds were really comfortable. Also enjoyed the balcony overlooking some nice green area. The breakfast was excellent and there were plenty of nice choices. The reception was welcoming and helpful but the receptionist could have had a bit more knowledge about the areas as was struggling to provide recommendations. Anyway we had a great time and I would go back if I get a chance. Thanks a lot

Spacious rooms with terraces overlooking a beautiful sculpture park. Very convenient to the attractions in the Silkeborg area -- especially museums and the park. Probably a good 15 minute walk into the center of town. Breakfast choices in the morning are ample and delicious. Filled with lots of local and regional art. Had a nice covered area that allowed us to sit outside even in a deluge!

Staff was outmost friendly and organized a late breakfast among other things to accomodate to our plans for a run in the forest just outside - directing us to a very clean lake close by for a pre-breakfast swim. The cleaning was ok but did not include outdoor furniture on our balcony. The five course dinner in Orangeriet was absolutely fantastic- amazing value for money. we can recommend this place for a gourmet getaway in beautiful natural surroundings

Shame about the room

Lobby and lounge area looked amazing and was very comfortable. Was quite excited as I walked in, but then I got to my room. Not sure what I booked, but if it was a double room, which I think it was. It was tiny, you could not have had two people in that room. You could only walk around one side of the bed. Wasn't a fan of the pea green carpet either. The room was also cold. Staff were great very friendly and chatty.

Total Tranquillity

We stayed for one night and could not have been happier with our stay. Reception was friendly and helpful, and unlike many other Scandinavian hotels, we had a queen-size bed, not too separate ones. Yes!

Clean and comfortable rooms and probably the best breakfast buffet I have ever seen. Everything you could ever require from the best of Nordic tradition accompanied by a perfect, panoramic view of the garden and the trees. Wonderful place, can't wait to visit again.

This is a beautiful hotel throughout. Room was lovely as was the dining room and common areas. The staff were very helpful. We borrowed bicycles for a few hours and did some beautiful bicycling around the lakes. The breakfast was very high quality.

Good but expensive hotel

Lovely hotel in beautiful setting about 1km outside the centre of the town although easily walkable but it is expensive so we didn't eat there. Staff were very helpful and of course spoke English. We were there at the beginning of the Riverboat jazz festival - most of which is free. Plenty of places to eat in the town - we liked Cafe 1. Raeke at the old paper mill by the harbour. In addition to the jazz we went walking in the area around the Himmelbjerget just south east of the town. You can drive there or take a ferry boat. It is one of the highest places in Denmark at 147 metres.

Hyggeligt Hotel, dog var senge virkelig ringe og hårde.
Der lugtede helt vildt meget af kloak på gangen til alle værelserne, så lugten trængte også ind på værelset.
Brusekabine er så lille at det er svært at vaske hår uden at støde på vægge og bruseforhæng.
Til trods for det er atmosfæren rigtige hyggelig, og hotellet ligger i nogle fantastiske omgivelser.

Skønneste sted

Det er tredje gang vi besøger Gl. Skovridergaard og vi vender helt sikkert tilbage.
Personalet er så søde, dygtige og imødekommende. Værelserne er virkelig dejlige og udsigten skøn. Morgenmaden var perfekt - virkelig god kvalitet. Vi spiste aftensmad i Orangeriet og maden og betjeningen var eminent!

Vi kom en halv time før at morgenmads buffeten sluttede og det virkede som om de allerede var ved at pakke væk.

Enkelt overnatning med familie

Rigtigt fint hotel med gode senge og god morgenmad. Hotellet er ikke moderne, men alt er særdeles velholdt og velfungerende.

Ganske udmærket

Udmærket hotel, hvor der var det nødvendige tilgængeligt. Værelset var også okay, dog af lidt ældre dato, uden at være fuldstændig nedslidt.
Morgenbuffeten var okay, maden var ganske fin, men der manglede bestik og begge morgener var der ved lang tid mellem der blev fyldt op af de forskellige ting.
Alt i alt et udmærket ophold, uden at det var super godt.

Ingen mad ???

Kunne ikke booke i restaurant fordi der ikke var serverings personale. Vi kørte til en super Vietnamesisk restaurant i byen. Personalet sagde der var fuldt optaget. Men gået på klingen sagde der ikke var personale.
Morgen mad kl. 8,45 var med kolde pøser, kold æg, over stegt bacon, og da vi gik op for at tage frugt var vort bord tømt på trods af at der var kaffe i kopper og mad på vores tallerkner.

Last minute booking solved.!

Super lækkert og vil til enhver tid anbefale det… De var supersøde til også at presse en gang mad ind, selvom der var pres på køkkenet.! Alt spillede på nær disse få ting - tv kanalerne kørte absolut ikke, og streaming ville systemet ikke - selvom det var sat op til det. Og så opfyldning på morgenmadsbuffeten gik lidt trægt, samt måske et lidt bredere udvalg. Men kvalitet fejlede ingenting.!
Men det bedste var sengen, dyne og pude samt sengetøj - det var topklasse💪

Dejligt ophold

Som altid en fornøjelse at bo på Gl. Skovridergaard. Værelserne er i orden, morgenmadsbuffeten er god, og personalet er venlige og kompetente. Hotellet har et eksklusivt udtryk, og en rolig atmosfære.
