This was what we needed. A clean bed at night after a day of exploring all the great local beaches and restaurants.

I am pro-eco friendly hotels. But when you have to request shampoo and toilet paper the first 3 days of our staying, and nobody shows they care to cover our needs, is not ok.
We ended up buying our own Shampoo, toilet paper and toiletries. We travel light with 1 backpack and we trust that the Hotel would provide basic services, but this was not the case.

The wifi is very sketchy & the room basic
We were stranded from our reservation for 3 nights & they refused a refund but agreed to give us free nights the following week based on giving them a good review
Hotel.com tried several attempts to get them to ok a refund & they refused
Again today they refused the free night & refused a cancellation blaming hotel . Com
They said it was because we hadn’t given a good review
We will not recommend this hotel as they were upset we used a booking app
I suggest they Join the 21st century

The staff were great! We have stayed at this hotel before and it was clean. This time we would not even use the towels as they were so dirty and threadbare.
Our air conditioner quit three times however the staff were quick to fix. The last night there a drunk someone who broke down the door across from us as he was locked out and fighting with another person inside. Called the desk several times with no answer. The situation could have been far worse. Will not stay there again ever!!

This property has wonderful and helpful staff, that respond as best they can to your needs. The positives were kind staff and great location in Santa Cruz. Rooms are in need of upgrades and repair. I changed rooms due to dripping a/c. My biggest concern was the last 5 days I did not feel it was safe to use the pool due to its murky waters and floating/sinking unknown materials. I was told each day it would be cleaned, then told it was clean but they were missing a chemical. That was unacceptable to me. I would not return to this hotel, or recommend it.

This is a very nice little hotel. Popular with Mexican and non-Mexican tourists alike. It’s very clean, the beds are comfortable and there’s lots of hot water. It has a nice pool, the restaurant is great and there’s often live music. It’s located very close to the marina so you can walk around and look at the sites and enjoy the neighbourhood too. It’s very basic, but the price reflects that. Excellent value. We are repeat visitors and will stay there again.

My firs visit stay at this hotel i had no problems everything was great. This second time was a disappointment. The staff pushed a unwelcome vibe at check in. My room was miss blankets. At breakfast time the hotel had a menu but insisted we get the meal of the morning due to staff only making that meal. This will be my last time i stay at this hotel. I also talked to management on-site but didn't seem to care about customer concerns.

If it wasn’t because Expedia asked me to pay upfront I would had not stayed there. One room key for four adults inconvenienced as the lights and AC operated w key and if two left the the key needed to stayed. The white sheets and white towels had the visual yellow stains. I reserved a pool view got a parking view.

This is not a 3.9 star hotel. I booked based on the reviews and the reviews almost seem fake. Our room was not ready at 3pm check in time and they had several guests waiting for their rooms too. Once we finally got our room the room stinks! The sheets and room smell like mildew! The AC does not cool enough, the shower is disgusting dirty on the ceilings and the shower head is soo old that water does not flow properly. The TV is tiny, the only good thing in the room is the art. I was really expecting more. The location is nice and the pool and restaurant are nice but this is definitely not even a 2.5 star hotel.

Downsides- pool is rented out for other events a lot which changes the overall ambiance and tranquility of the facility. Room cleaning was minimal. Towels are threadbare and no toiletries provided other than soap and soap.

The towels were clean, but very old, let’s call them almost rags. My bedding wasn’t changed the three night that I spent there. I never used the pool, I just walked around and it wasn’t bad, but, nothing outstanding or super clean. The whole hotel is just OK. It wasn’t very expensive so, I guess you get what you pay for.

Stay here if you don’t mind being overcharged 100 pesos per dog deposit, being snickered at by staff for learning Spanish, and waiting over an hour in the restaurant for drinks while everyone else around was served their meals in a timely fashion. You can likely stay anywhere else in town and be treated decent.

El servicio del restaurante es lo máximo, súper amables y con verdadero sentido de atención al cliente. En cambio todo lo que tenga que ver con el personal de la recepción es malísimo, nos hicieron esperar muchísimo para el check in, no tenían pulseras para todos (nunca nos las dieron), el control de tv nos lo cambiaron como 3 veces y JAMÁS sirvió (y no les importó en nada). Al momento de hacer check in me dicen que me espere porque no han dado las 3, voy 5 minutos antes y me dicen que espere un poco más y cuando dan las 3 empiezan a atender a otras personas que acababan de llegar en ese momento ¬_¬ Realmente el servicio \"administrativo\" es muy malo, pero en restaurante de verdad es super diferente (se ve la intención de querer ayudar y atenderte bien).

The location is the only good thing about this quite dated and badly maintained hotel. From the start the receptionist was quite unpleasant, not very welcoming and then at the room, the bathroom ceiling needs to be clean thoroughly, the shower door fixed and just simply provided with normal, usual amenities such as glasses for water and more pillows. Too much money for what it is.

We called the hotel to reserve a room, the representative that took my call let me know that there were lots of rooms available and that I didn’t need to reserve. Just come to the hotel, no problem. After travelling to the hotel we came to the front desk. The rep at the desk spoke no English and our Spanish is not very good. She told us that if we had no reservation that they had no availability, then translated again with her smart phone that the hotel had no rooms available. We told her our story and she again told us there were no rooms. I asked for her supervisor or someone that we could explain to us in English. Another employee came to the front desk. After explaining our story and that we needed a room for two nights, he also confirmed That without a reservation, that they had no rooms. But, he then offered a king room at an exorbitant cost and couldn’t explain how they went from no rooms to having an expensive room available at 4x the cost. We would not stay there again. Customer service was not great. The rooms were very clean however there were none of the usual amenities like water glasses, hair dryer, kleenex, coffee maker, tv controlller or a/c controller were provided. You had to get the tv and a/c controllers from the front desk and return them upon checkout. Breakfast was ok.

Great area, quiet and near the beach with free beach shuttles before noon. Bfast is only free for 2 people (2 different options each day) despite the advertised 4 people bfast. Great AC, very good food, good pool area, pool needs more underwater light for evening swims. The room bathrooms do not have a vent. Colectivo buses and taxis drive through this place regularly. Restaurant service needs improvement. But overall not a badplace to spend with the family.

This is NOT a 4 star hotel. The hotel itself is old, beat up and dirty. The service is an absolute joke! Not helpful, not apologetic even when they provide their guests with incorrect information. The beds by the pools are nasty! The pool itself is alright. They do play music from about 10 am to about 9 pm so if you get a room by the pool you will not be able to rest if you are a light sleeper or a napper during the day. 4 of the 6 nights of out stay I had to request new sheets and towels since ours were duty or stained! At one time when I asked I was asked “why” and when I told them they never apologized they just sent someone. Please please do not stay here! Pay a little more not to be hugely disappointed and upset. The only good thing about this place was the location. Very centralized and close to everything you may need and the service from the “capitán” at the restaurant which I assume he may be a supervisor or lead waiter. He was awesome, helpful, respectful and even helped my husband out while he felt sick.

The thing we didn’t like was that Expidia said breakfast was included but after we paid Expedia didn’t forward the free breakfast to the hotel, not a big $ deal but bad false advertising and not the hotels fault.

Location is great. No fridge or safe in room so for a longer stay not really convenient. Hotel pool towels are so warn out and with holes and all frayed. If you get a tab at the bar they add on a service charge. I paid for my tab and the next day a bartender told me I didn’t pay. Buffet is over priced and not a lot of selection.

Great large pool area! Bamboo \"pergolas\" provided protection from the sun at all times of the day if desired and there were also lots of open areas if you wanted to sunbathe. An open air restaurant located right next to the pool had very good food and service. There were many restaurants as well as the beach within walking distance.

The hotel.staff were awesome it was.the restuarant staff that were terrible, they constantly tried over charging and adding tips for themselves and the service was terrible. If you stay at this hotel you have no choice but to purchase items from the resturant as you are not allowed to consume your own food and beverage by the pool. The part about the hotel i did not like is the lack of mini fridge you couldn't even keep a bottle of water cold.

Hotel Santa Cruz is an excellent value for the money. Room was large and spotless. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant on site overlooks the pool and the food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Pool is large and well kemp. And hotel is a short walk to the very nice beach. Overall one of the nicest places I’ve stayed in years.

My boyfriend and I booked a night because we had an early flight out of Huatulco the next morning and needed a place near the airport. There was a musty smell coming from the dresser in room 123, and it was only after my boyfriend saw the lines of bites on his arms and shoulders the next day and we did some online research that we realized that the smell was bed bugs. I sent an email to the hotel in Spanish the next day, and two weeks later they replied saying the the room had been cleaned. No apologies, no offer of compensation. That on top of the hotel being pretty crummy to begin with. The pictures of the pool look nice online, but all of the white covers on the cushions of the pool furniture are stained from overuse. The wifi was slow at best, and the bathroom in the room was absolutely institutional. There are plenty of options in the area. Don't stay here. Pay $10 more and get something that doesn't bite!
