Hotel is in a convenient location, walking distance of around 200m, from Hulan road metro station. Staff were excellent, allowed us to check in early. Breakfast was good. Rooms could benefit from newer carpets. Kettle, coffee Tea were available in the room. Overall good experience

THE HOTEL WAS ADVERTISED FIVE MINUTES WALK FROM MANY ATTRACTIONS. IT WAS ABOUT 30 MINUTES SUBWAY, METRO RIDE FROM THE ADVERTISED LOCATION. A BIG PROBLEM WHEN YOU ARRIVE LATE AT NIGHT!!!

Spacious room with sofa. Bathroom is okay. Price was reasonable for a nice hotel.

However, wrong location on the map and we went to the wrong location at first. Near the metro, but the metro station is far from downtown area.
Room was a little hot, since you could not control the temperature of the Aircon. It was summer when we stayed.

Services and facilities are good but they never turn the air conditioner on due the outside temp was around 25 degrees C, The room was that hot that we had to open the window to sleep a little.

5 mins to metro station, 20 mins to downtown

This hotel is located outside the downtown district, u need to take metro for 20 mins and get to downtown. Well it is an Holiday Inn Express, so they have some basic breakfast for free. The price is cheap, why not give it a try?

The rooms maximum have a double bed. If you need a King size bed or two queen size beds, forget about that. They DO NOT have that. We had to purchase two rooms to accommodate 3 people, as one bedroom only had one double bed which could only accommodate two people, which at the end costed double to me. By having two double beds would have avoided me from getting a separate room.

Breakfast is good. It is all steamed food. Nothing fattening at all. Reception doesn't know how to speak English at all, so having a translator or a translation app REALLY HELPS!!!

Local area there is nothing close by within walking distance. You have to take a cab to go anywhere from the Hotel, which is a nuisance. Plus, for any Indians out there, a lot of restaurants do NOT even deliver to this Hotel as it is far away from the city.

Not a bad stay for a reasonable price!

Came from Canada for a day 4 day stay. Really liked the bedroom layout and cleanliness, yet they could only accommodate 1 queen bed or two twin beds. Since we were 3 people, I ended up getting two bedrooms with 1 queen bed in each room. The breakfast is healthy, not the traditional bacon and eggs (American food), but had bowled eggs, sausages, ham, pork, noodles, fruits, bread, jam, butter, milk, and cereals.

Hotel is close to public transportation. Free breakfast is excellent. Chef on duty to cook your noodle to your liking. Apple at the front is very helpful and courteous. Will definitely stay in this hotel next time in Shanghai.

Super value for the price you pay, worth every dollar including the breakfast! Only thing need to be improved is the attitude of the person (chinese ) , it's not the language but it's the attitude, needs more training in refinement. Not at all friendly, a little bit discourteous. When we were asking what is the password for the wifi, and she was still busy checking us in, she answered \"wait\".. That's unacceptable language in the hotel industry, especially one like Holiday Inn Express.. Attention! Management, Please train her more !

Overall, it's a very nice hotel. American hotels, including Holiday Inn Express, is often one notch better than those in the US.
Checkin:
We had a little problem with the check-in process. It could be Expedia's fault or the hotel's fault. But the staff sent us to the room first and sort it out.
Non-smoking rooms:
In Shanghai (as of 1/2016), smoking is allowed in hotels. This hotels offers non-smoking rooms, which are truly non-smoking rooms.
Room:
The room is excellent in all aspects, except the softness of the beds. It's too hard per American standard, but just right for Chinese.
Breakfast:
Superb per American standard - average per Chinese standard.
Location:
It is less than 5 minutes walk from subway line 1. About 1 hour of subway ride from the center of Shanghai. Just a couple stops from Shanghai Circus World.
The area is pretty quiet. As \"remote\" as it is, it's got many excellent Chinese restaurants. Chinese use \"dianping\" for finding restaurants reviews. With it, we visited three of them, and all were excellent. Note: most restaurants in Shanghai allow smoking.
P.S. We found a fruit stand near the hotel too. An Asian pear called \"Huang Guan Li\" was surprising good, better than all Asian pears I had before.

Not recommended

Little or no English was spoken so communication was difficult. No assistance to arrange tours or even information on what might be available. Breakfast was good. Evening meal was dreadful and not what was advertised. When I complained they laughed and thought it was funny. Although the metro is just a couple of minutes walk it really is too far out of town. Moved to a down town hotel which was a hundred times better and no more expensive

最寄り駅の場所は上海中心部から離れていますが、駅からホテルまでは徒歩圏内です。
建物は新しく清潔、部屋の天井も高く過ごしやすく日本のビジネスホテル並かそれ以上です。
周辺にコンビニはもちろん安価～高級な食事を取れるお店もあり困ることはありません。
中心部に比べて価格も安く、清潔なため次回上海を訪れる時も利用したいと考えています。
注意してほしいところはExpedia上で表示される地図の位置は間違っているという点。baiduマップやGoogleMapで正確な位置を確認することをおすすめします。

靠马路，有点吵，房间环境只能说一般，不过在大上海这个价位只能说性价比不高。
房间内只有牙刷、拖鞋、洗浴也都是2合1，和快捷motel那种差不多标准。所以有点小失望。

ホテルにサービスやスタッフの対応は問題なく、快適に過ごすことができました。少し中心部から離れていますが、地下鉄の駅も近いので、それほど不便ではありません。

Only stay one night without return again!

Once you enter the hotel and talk to the reception, you know you make a wrong choice. Breakfast is real cheap - e.g. no fry egg or bun!!! The reception attitude is unexpectedly unfriendly as if they let you stay there for free. If you are a smoker, you will love it because the room and corridor are filled with cigarette smoke :( :( If you need to travel to the city, you better reserve at least 1 hour more. the location is in a suburb.

上海郊外のくつろげるホテル

市内から離れているので環境を心配していたけど逆に整備された街並みに感動。ホテルの設備は他のexpressと同じで問題なし。ちょっと市内から離れすぎているのが難点。朝の渋滞はひどいので地下鉄がおすすめ。駅は近くて便利。

Una cama para tres!!!!!!!, huevos fritos de terror

Al presentarme a la recepción me dicen que he reservado una habitación con una sola cama para tres personas. ¿Pueden creerlo? No acepté. De muy mala gana, la muchacha en la recepción nos ubicó en una habitación en la zona de fumadores con dos camas muy pequeñas.Bajé a recepción a reclamar mis derechos y pedí hablar con el gerente. No me lo permitieron pero me cambiaron de habitación a la zona de no fumadores.
La primera noche fue pésima. Tuve que arreglármelas para dormir con mi esposa en la misma cama estandar, mientras su prima dormía en la otra. Amanecí con dolor en el cuello.
Para la segunda noche decidimos unir ambas camas para ver si nos acomodábamos mejor y funcionó muy bien pero creo que un huesped no debería tomarse estas molestias.
La mucama apenas y limpiaba la habitación. Nos dejó toallas mojadas y no hizo las camas y nos dejó sin gel para el baño y tuve que bajar a la recepción a solicitar un frasco nuevo.
Entiendo que en China la mayoría de hoteles solamente sirven platillos chinos pero vamos.....al menos deberían tener huevos revueltos o fritos.
Luego de comer lo mismo durante dos días, se me ocurrió que talvez podría conseguir unos huevos fritos. Le pedí a una chica del restaurante y su respuesta fue Nooooouuuuuuu!!!!!!
La expresión de su rostro fue de terror, como si le estuviera pidiendo algo asqueroso.
Servicio al cliente en este hotel: REPROBADO.
Me hospedaría nuevamente en él: Noooooouuuuuuu!!!!!

Vale la pena

Estuve de paso únicamente por una noche. Me resultó fácil llegar con google maps. El mapa de ubicación de Hoteles.com está malo. El hotel se ve bastante nuevo, muy cerca de la estación del metro Hulan road, habitación limpia y personal que habla inglés en la recepción mas no en el restaurante. Tuve problemas con la conexion a internet y las computadoras del lobby son Mac con las que no estoy familiarizado. En términos generales volvería a hospedarma allí. El único lugar medianamente decente para comer en los alrededores del hotel es un Family mart,
