Staff were helpful, and efficient with the check in. The room was clean and modern (but not necessarily to my taste - I'm not overly impressed with rooms with a panoramic view of the toilet area; though in this case there was a blind) The air conditioning was set quite cool, but amenable to adjustment. Breakfast was fresh and copious.

Cicada Lodge is simply amazing. The staff are fantastic and so attentive in an understated and non instrusive way. While the dinner menu is quite limited, the food is superb and the service relaxed and efficient. Simply I loved Cicada Lodge and could not recommend it highly enough.

The cabin was nice. To get to them you have to walk on a boardwalk above the ground. I noticed they had ramps so it is wheel chair friendly. The food was very good but very pricey $125pp for 3 course dinner. I had to ask if you were not a big eater what is the alternative. I normally just have an entree but I felt like they would think I was Penny pinching so I ordered a main $60. Didn’t finish it but it was tasty. There are only 3 choices of entree, main & desserts and they don’t change every night in fact possibly not even every week. So if you stay more than 2 nights you may not be happy eating the same meal. There is no where else for dinner so a captured audience .Breakfast was included and good also a pre dinner drink and canapés were included in the room price.
We had a nice stay but glad it was only 2 nights. Even 1 would have been ok.

Great location on rim og river with native plants outlook of bedroom. Excellent service and great complimentary canapes and drinks in evening Pool was a little small but nearby pool at caravan park excellent.
Evening meal was expensive an d need more options, but cheaper option is available at caravan park and is very good .

the location was great, very clean & well maintained.
i have lots of allergies so remote travels sometimes can be difficult but the chefs accommodated me really well and exceeded all expectations!
the food at this place is fantastic, can easily compete with some of the best Melbourne Crown Casino restaurants!

one thing that was quite annoying is that we were not allowed to smoke on the balcony, yet the room had an ashtray. i understand not everyone likes the smell of smoke but i have never stayed at a hotel where you are required to walk to a pool side to have a cigarette when your room has a balcony (and we are very seasoned travelers with some of the world's best resorts in our experience).

overall it was a great experience and the best place to stay around the area.

The Lodge was truly luxury in the outback. The staff were super friendly & helpful. The pool was 24/7 access, the rooms spacious & very comfortable with lots of facilities like coffee machine, lovely teas. Bathroom was spacious also & each room was private with a private balcony. Breakfast & canapés were superb.
The price is a bit too costly I feel which resulted in us only being able to stay a max 2 nights. I was shocked to find a beautiful caravan park directly opposite the Lodge which made it less exclusive then I originally thought it was.

Love the peace, tranquility and inclusions. The staff are helpful and excellent, but the property is not staffed to properly accommodate all of their guests to have breakfast in a timely fashion. This is a problem because breakfast is included in the price of the stay, and we had to leave on time to get a tour. Took us over an hour to get the breakfast that we had ordered the night before!!

This is a lovely property in a great location. This was our fourth stay. We have noticed a significant decline in the service since our first stay. The staff is usually made up of young itinerant workers who are in Australia on working visas. On this occasion one was excellent and the rest were mediocre. They have a formula that they now cannot deviate from.

The advice on daily activities was much poorer than we have experienced on previous stays. It took three attempts, talking with three different members of staff, each time receiving different information, before we could organise our day in the gorge.

The evening meal is a set three course menu (no choice) for $95. Drinks are extra. You now have to order your breakfast the night before and, whist nice, is a lot less than on previous stays. The breakfast is more in line with a small cafe (you have a choice of four set meals) than a luxury or romantic accomodation stay. Our breakfast order was mucked up on the first day. On the second day we had a different chef that prepared the meals in a very different way (not as good) and we had to wait 40 minutes even though there were no other people at breakfast.

Overall, this is still the best place in town. If you have not stayed before, or have not experienced many other luxury accommodation options, you will probably find it quite good. However, the drop in service meant this property was overpriced for what it offers and no longer in the luxury range.

An Oasis of comfort and sophistication in the heat and dryness of the bush. Cicada Lodge is unassuming in its surroundings but offers 5 star comfort to hot and weary travellers. What a great place to stay at. We had fabulous staff serving us on our first night, Helena and Steven, they made us feel very welcome and were super helpful and friendly. The restaurant was excellent. The rooms are really comfortable and really well set out. It is a very quiet setting and very convenient to get to the gorge cruise we had booked the following morning. Overall we were really happy to have chosen Cicada Lodge for our stay in Katherine.
