The hotel is super old OR at least it seems like it because of the upkeep(?) The toilet did not flush properly - water just swirled in clrcles without taking anything down. Engineering came but did not help the situation any. Actually, he said it's working until I put some TP in and showed him how the TP just swirled in circles. The restaurant tables were filthy. Had grease on them that would stick to your hands. Food was horrible as well. The restaurant itself had a stench smell. The photos are so polished/photoshopped that it is just decieving. Stay away from this place.

Good Hotel, just not the best in cleanliness and a lot of mosquitoes. Staff were faboulous just that the management have to invest a bit to fix the shower, the broken doors, the dirty chars and a few touch ups, but otherwise a good stay.

I made this reservation in a crunch. The whole 3rd floor smelled damp. The room windows were completely covered with Bird Poo and I couldn't keep them open. Several pillows and many towels had large stains that were unacceptable. The water temperature in the shower was always cold. If you waited for it to heat for 15 full min, it got to luke warm. The Toilet stopped working on day 3.

Firstly, the key fob provided was not working, which required multiple try before I got into the room. Additionally, the flush in the bathroom was having issues, which was an inconvenience.

The property itself felt very old and in need of renovation. The flooring in my room was visibly damaged, giving the space a worn and unkempt appearance. These factors combined to create a less than satisfactory stay.

While the staff was courteous and tried to assist, the state of the property and the initial hurdles left much to be desired. I hope the management takes these concerns into account to improve the guest experience in the future.

I was visiting bangalore with my parents. The first room they provided us had broken shower head, moldy bathrooms, and ac was not working. We had to change the room in the middle of the night. In the new room ac was better, but had very dirty moldy bathrooms. Would never stay there again.

Rented two rooms as a family. One was fine, the other was ordinary with some mold in bathroom ceiling. Toilet flushes in both rooms were temperamental. Staff were courteous and tried to be helpful

The most uncourteous staff at the reception, none of them I encountered greet you, only focused on running your credit card, do not bother informing the guests about the breakfast timing, wifi connection. The hotel policy on the website says children under 17 stay free with paying adults. My daughter was 12 years old, and was told by two different staffs (one is executive manager) two different age limits (11 and below, 10 and below)!

Rooms smelt fungy, bed cushions soggy like a 4th rated hotel. Most amenities non-functional. The electric kettle had rust at the spout. I requested a replacement. I was electrically shocked when I touched the replacement one. Not only that it still have stains. The weighting machine didn't have battery, and had it replaced. The flush buttons on the toilet stopped working, got stuck after first night stay.

When I decided to cut short the stay by one night, the executive manager (Jennifer) cooked up policy saying that the hotel can't allow modification, and I had to cancel the entire reservation and rebook, in trying to dissuade me from changing the stay without penalty. Expedia travel agent helped contacting the property for authorization to update. but never received any response from the hotel.

Finally, the food at the breakfast buffet didn't look appealing. That was not the worst part, after having the leman rice, two in our party feel sick.

4 star hotel room rent for 0-star room amenities, uncourteous staff and service. Stay away!!!

The rooms were dirty, toilets were so stained. We had only one towel kept in the room when it was a triple occupancy. Food was very spicy, even coconut chutney was tasting like chilli chutney. We called the reception to check on accomodation for driver, they said there is a room in basement where the driver can sleep. But after arriving, they did not provide a room and asked him to sleep in the car. Overall, not a 4-star quality.

Is is a clean hotel worth 3500 Rs per night. However, I was charged above 5000 via Expedia. I like as it is connected with the Elements mall. The broken sewage in front of the property made it impossible to walk outside. I never accessed the pool as I was told it is closed after 7:00 pm. Never got connected for in room dining service; phone rang and rang and disconnected always.

Fire safety issues need resolving

Good stay overall. Room comfortable, gym small but nice. Didn’t use swimming pool (no loungers out by the pool). Breakfast was great. Biggest problem was that one of the fire escape routes was padlocked shut. I think there were problems with the fire escape ladder, but it was still signposted as an escape route, and the only escape route for that half of the hotel. I wouldn’t have expected this from an international hotel chain.

I had horrible experience. Didn't get the rooms we booked. Didn't get the breakfast we paid for, it said it will included with room but when on site they made us pay. Expedia team tried to work with them for refund but I haven't heard from anyone in more than a week. I'll highly recommend, if you want to spend your money spend it at a place where they will do what they promise

I had a rate that included airport pick up and that worked well. However I booked this hotel so I could swim and the pool area is torn apart (seems like that for a while) and looks like a construction dump. Don't book this place if are hoping for a place to swim as there is NONE

The stay was pleasant. However, cleanliness was not up to 4 star level. Swimming pool though advertised was closed during our stay. Bathrobe advertised was not provided. Drinking water was not replenished daily. Some towels smelt of cigarette smoke. Considering the above issues, the price paid was high.

It was not a pleasant experience.. The room we were alloted had the curtain missing from toilet exposing it to the room.. When reported by me the attitude of the staff was callous and they did not take any swift action and just blamed it on their own maintenance staff..

The shower was defective and the maintenance guy just told me that no plumber was available and I need to wait till morning.. Even in the morning Noone came to repair..

When I ordered the food they did not tell how long it will take and it was just endless wait.. When I called they will just lie and tell me it's on the way..

Overall a horrible experience.. It's a good property next to a shopping mall but has poor staff attitude and poor service and maintenance..

Impressive hotel next to a shopping Mall

Very impressed with the hotel. Was very convenient for the purpose we were in- to be near our relatives in Nagavara who were surprised that such a nice hotel existed in the area. Breakfast was excellent. Can’t say the same about the food in the restaurant. Was quite expensive. Was shocked to see they had charged 450rs for a bottle of water. We were a group of 10 people at the restaurant and paid Rs 1350 for 3 bottles just for the water Elementis Mall within the same complex was an added bonus. Staff were friendly and helpful .The only drawback was-room was not cleaned every day and we had to remind the cleaners to do our room. Overall a very pleasing experience at the hotel and enjoyed the stay. Would definitely go back if I were to go to Bangalore again.

The staff is warm and courteous and make you feel welcome.The rooms are spacious with a comfy bed and clean bathrooms. The breakfast spread has sufficient variety and is of good quality. The hotel is conveniently located for those on business trips with work in Manyata Tech Park. I will stay again on my next work trip.

The Reception Team were very helpful, especially Susmita the Front Duty Manager who assisted me with a number of details in arranging Uber and Ola taxi's for me, plus where to find the nearest ATM etc...all so appreciated...and Susmita did it all with a pleasantness kindness. As well, Viykash at Reception was helpful and kind. Given the great service, clean and comfortable rooms, good buffet breakfast and other amenities the HoJo Bangalore Hebbal is a very good deal for the money!

Requested non-smoking room on Hotels.com. Smoking room was allotted. I was told that I will be shifted to a non-smoking room the next day. Nothing happened. Spoke to the manager few times. 3 nights stay and the room was offered on the third day. My wife who is highly allergic to smoking fell ill and had to get medical help.

Waiting time for check in was 20 minutes. System was down and rebooting time was 20 minutes.
There was a waiting period of 20 minutes for breakfast on the first day. Explanation was given that 8 - 9am is a very busy time. Staff not adequately trained.
Explained my difficulties with the manager and was offered a free ride to the airport as compensation. Did not take the offer as I had already booked the taxi.
I had stayed at Howard Johnson in other countries and I had good experiences.
I will not recommend Howard Johnson at Bangalore to anyone.

During check in, there was some confusion as to how many people were on the reservation. After showing the expedia reservation confirmation, the manager changed things on his end.

The room was good. I have stayed at the Ashok in New Delhi for about the same price and Howard Johnson is way better than that.

I left my watch on the bed side table and didn't remember it until I was home. I called to find out if they had it and they did. I went in later that night and got my watch back.
