The room was clean and full of character but the inability of the cold water taps (both bath and whb) to provide cold water unless it runs for at least 2 minutes really needs to resolved by management as a matter of urgency.Relying on your guests to accept this as a consequence of having \"quirky taps\" - as stated by the very small sign affixed to the whb - is not good enough.Get new taps asap! The evening meals were plentiful but in the case of the salmon, prawn and pasta dish, it was over cooked. The Morrocan Lamb was very good. £9.50 for a glass of Pinot was a bit steep!

End of evening sat with a drink in lounge talking to friends and advised last orders at 10 then waiter came and asked if we were staying at the hotel , they should have known this . The staff were so helpful, couldn't do enough for us. The food was out of this world, so tasty and beautifully presented.
The room was spacious, the bed comfortable. The bathroom was clean with a huge walk in shower. There was a kettle and a wide variety of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits too.
We both slept well. The curtains were blackout so weren't disturbed by the light either.

Really nice well run hotel. All staff friendly and attentive. Fantastic evening meal and equally as tremendous breakfast. Room was clean and comfortable, bathroom modern and clean with a nice hot shower. We were on a motorcycle, so were particularly pleased by the large flat tarmac secure car park at the rear with an entry barrier. They have a cosy bar area too, so you can have a drink before or after dinner, plus some outside courtyard seating if the weather is good. Good local beer on tap. Given the included excellent breakfast it feels like good value too.

Lovely hotel with excellent service

We had a lovely 3 night stay at the hotel and eat there twice with 6 other friends. The service was excellent, from the booking process to the bar service and the waiting on in the restaurant. We had a room at the rear of the hotel which was lovely and quiet. The room was large and clean and we had no complaints. The food was superb on both nights and I would highly recommend the Chicken curry. The breakfasts were also excellent. It is worth noting the steps from the car park to the hotel but it is very easy to park at the front to drop of luggage and then go and park your vehicle in a nice secure car park. In all we had a lovely stay and would definitely use the hotel again.

Fantastic room, comfortable with amazing shower. Reception, lounge and dining area clean but a little tired looking. Restaurant offered a Kitchen and bar menu with own GF menu. Breakfast was self-service continental breakfast with no GF options so had to take something from the cooked menu.and menu for hot food. Be aware the local shops are all closed on a Sunday and only a few opened on bank holiday Monday. Overall had a lovely stay and would stay there again.

This is a beautiful property that has been decorated to a high standard.

We did experience a few issues during our stay, but this was due to a misunderstanding with our booking and had nothing to do with the accommodation or the staff.

Gavin (Manager) and his team work hard to keep the customers happy and the hotel running smoothly.

If you have a chance, don't miss out on the breakfast. It was five stars all the way.

Relaxing weekend in lovely Llandeilo

Lovely room upgraded us to an Excellent room with 4 poster bed and large bathroom.All the staff were very friendly and professional. Check in was easy. No view as we faced the road which was noisy when the windows were open which you needed as room was quite hot but they had a fan in the room which was good. Room was a bit dusty in places around the lamps and some cobwebs from the curtains (which were very heavy as the windows were huge!) but this didn't effect our stay. Food was excellent in the restaurant. Not much choice on the continental breakfast but probably most people just have a cooked breakfast instead. All in all a very enjoyable weekend in lovely Llandeilo with a great selection of independent shops and lovely cafes.

I stayed with my mother and sister. We unanimously voted that our stay was wonderful.

The service really set the tone to begin our stay. She greeted me with a smile and walked me over to the apartment. She explained everything. We were even offered dinner eventhough dinner service had finished - we checked in very late. They even kept the kitchen open longer for my mother who couldn't make it in time.

The apartment itself was spacious, comfortable, easy to move around and not to forget clean. We had a slight problem with the shower and the night manager was amazing. He came and sorted it out with a smile. We really felt taken care of.

The only downside is that we didn’t get to stay longer. I would've also liked a hand-held shower feature with the bath tub but honestly that's just a preference because we were three women sharing this space and only one shower.

Overall, would definitely recommend and if we get the opportunity, would love to stay longer. Such a quaint town and a lovely place to walk around.

Fantastic stay here with my boyfriend last night. We arrived by bike and called beforehand to let them know and they kindly allowed us to keep our bikes safe in a ground floor room just off the courtyard.

Reception lady was so lovely and check in was a breeze, the room was gorgeous and spotless, the bed was comfy. Massage shower was a bonus!

Breakfast that was included was outstanding - full Welsh breakfast was great for two hungry cyclists!

We also ate in the restaurant and staff and food were both fabulous. Will definitely be back.

A lovely quirky hotel with an amazing evening meal

A fantastic welcome by a friendly member of staff.
A lovely quirky hotel, however, not disable friendly, but I guess that’s to do with being a listed building.
The food was amazing with lovely fresh ingredients. The mussels were probably the best I’d had and the trio of pork was delightful. Only negative being, the bar closed early,
The breakfast was ok. Fresh fruit salad would have been nice as I am lactose intolerant and cereals aren’t something I go for. Also baked beans with the breakfast would also have been something we all would have liked to have seen on offer.
We were a party of 6 celebrating a 60th birthday and all 6 stayed the night.
Will definitely be returning.

No good for the price

I have to say for the price you charge its not a good room. The floors creak theres a bath were i think.it should only need a shower bit thats my personal preference. Breakfast was not good sausage was under cooked sliced potatoes were under cooked sliced tomatoes under cooked bacon was lovely black pudding was only half a portion. In my opinion its to expensive for what it is. We had another room thhe day before in another town 16.miles away i wish wed stayd there now.

The hotel should jnform guests to drop bags out front in the loading zone, then direct you to the car park, As older travelers, the trip UP the hill to get the bags and down the steps could have been eliminated with some advanced communication

The hotel was really well located, the staff were really friendly and super helpful. The food in the restaurant and breakfast was really good, very tasty and they adapted menu choices for vegetarians, so really great. The hotel itself is nice but just a bit tired, in need of a bit of a refresh and fittings need repairing. Everything was clean but just a bit tired and needed updating. The coffee at breakfast was pretty terrible so perhaps a coffee machine rather than very weak cafetières would be good.

The hotel is striking being painted red and on the roadside.
We had promised ourselves a stay so we could look around the town and surrounding area.
The hotel is clearly an important part of Llandeilo’s history and integral to many social events in the town. Our only concern is the car park. It is difficult to find and access to the hotel involves walking down two flights of stairs over the hotel roof and down into the hotel courtyard! Better signage is essential.

Location is good, the provision of parking is useful and the food isn't too bad. However the room we were given wasnt far off sub tropical temperatures and with a window that only opened a couple of inches there was no way to attempt to cool it down. Plus there was some sort of plumbing issue that mean a sound akin to an aircraft toilet flushing every 5 minutes or so throughout the night kept us awake. Personally i would recommend this hotel was well avoided until they've sorted out their overheating and plumbing problems. Which is a shame as with a bit of effort it could be a really comfortable place to stay....but for now....DON'T.

Not the best stay at the Cawdor.

I have stayed at the Cawder on a number of occasions and believe that on this occasion the overall rating was disappointing. We arrived a little after 3 pm. The stairway is in need of re-decoration and a carpet clean, however, the room was very nice. Our intention was then to have a relaxing time in the room before getting ready for the evening. Unfortunately, the TV was not working and after replacing the remote control batteries (provided by the hotel) I managed to switch the TV on. However, it was then impossible to change channels or switch it off. Management attended to switch off the tv during the evening whilst we were at dinner. There was no concern from anyone and no offer a discount, even a drink from the bar would have been acceptable as means of an apology. The dinner was superb as was breakfast and the service staff in the dining room have to be commended for their hospitality.

However on this occasion we were forced to have cold showers as there was a problem with the boiler. Thought we might of had some sort of reduction for the inconvenience. But they were very apologetic.

Space and furnishing were excellent, we were very comfortable and after a long day the accomadtion was more than we could have expected. The Penthouse Suites are separate from the main hotel, this was not an issue for myself and family, the very squeaky floorboards in the Penthouse Suites, especially if you are a large group can be a little bit annoying, we only stayed one night so again, this was not an issue for us.

Lovely hotel, great, clean & quiet room. Really glad not located right next to the incredibly squeaky staircase. This is our 2nd stay at this hotel and we had a room on the 2nd floor at the front of the hotel. It was a much better experience as there is large industrial fan at the rear of the hotel which is quite noisy. Had a great night's sleep, very comfortable. Food in the hotel was very nice indeed.

Very helpful and friendly staff who never say no to your requests. Nice restaurant with breakfasts cooked from kitchen individually rather than buffet breakfast most hotels offer. Absolutely impressive quality, and you will never feel hungry here. The room is cosy with a spacious, modern and clean bathroom. Love the local showering products they use, very good to allergic skin. All in all, hard to find any fault in this hotel. Will stay here again if I visit wales

Great hotel, beautiful dining room and bar area. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. The room while comfortable was very warm and quite noisy with some sort of industrial fan on continuously on the rear of the building. This unfortunately prevented me from sleeping well. Turned the heating off but didn't want to open the window due to the noise. Great bathroom with a nice deep bath.

We we booked the penthouse suite for my 65 birthday was a bit disappointed to find it was not in the main hotel which is one of the reasons for staying there
The room was clean traffic was noisy and the floors we’re creaking when walked on very noisy
Had a lot of noise from the people walking up stairs did not have s as good night’s sleep
The staff were very Covid aware I felt safe in the hotel we had excellent service from each member of staff

Comfortable beds, and 2 bed townhouse is great as you feel you are away from everything but with a hotel service. Breakfast menu has changed though and don’t get as much range as previously.

Exceptional.... superb staff, from reception, bar staff to cleaners.
We have to say a special mention to the man behind the bar, impeccable manners and so friendly.
Cant wait to visit again...
