I was having a difficult day when I arrived but then I was greeted so warmly by Darcy and Gemma, they made me feel so welcome that my day turned around instantly! My room was charming and cozy, comfy bed, nice furnishings and a fantastic large old claw foot bath tub. It felt cozy and luxurious at the same time. The location was excellent for walking, restaurants and access to the train station. The breakfast was also great, with plenty to choose from and table service instead of just buffet as in most hotels. Be aware that it is an old building so you do hear noise from other guests coming and going. Nothing worth complaining about. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend!

Every single thing about this hotel from start to finish was perfect. The staff members at the front desk and restaurant were so warm and helpful, the entire hotel feels like you’re stepping back in time in all the best ways, and the room was INCREDIBLE. Both the breakfast and the dinner there were delicious. We stayed in a Superior Deluxe room that was so cozy and full of character I wished we had booked more than one night there. Very easy access to the entire town from here and everything is walkable. Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this town.

This is a well located hotel close to shops and eateries and the theatre is walkable. The staff were friendly and the room was clean with good amenities. The bar has a good selection of drinks and spirits and has a nice atmosphere with wooden beams and panelling. Well worth a visit.

Absolutely beautiful hotel situated in the middle of Stratford upon Avon literally a minute walk to Shakespeare’s birth place home. The staff are so helpful and nice. We arrived late yet still able to grab dinner in the restaurant at 9pm.

Just be aware, they don't have their own car park. But we parked in the car park closest to the hotel, which was the same as having their own... it just cost a little more.

We’ve stayed at two other hotels in the same chain in Kingston and Hampton Wick. They have the edge as provide a prosecco / beer as a welcome drink. You can also get a latte at breakfast for no extra charge at the other hotels. We had to pay extra here which I feel is a bit
‘cheap’. Fab bathroom. Loved the Molton Brown touch. Disappointed that when my husband turned the bedside lamp off to go sleep it fell on top of him with exposed wires. We told reception and it was removed whilst we were at breakfast. Safe didn’t work either which we later found out was a battery issue.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.

All staff were so friendly and polite and went above and beyond to make your stay the best possible. The breakfast was outstanding with a beautifully relaxed dining room. The entire hotel was decorated lovely with cool relaxing palettes on the walls. We had an executive double which was a little smaller than expected but very tastefully presented. Only criticism was the hardness of the bed which did impact on our quality of sleep and there were a few hairs in the bath and shower on arrival.

Breakfast was outstanding. Cooked fresh to order and a range of cold cold buffet items to help yourself too. Staff were very attentive and accommodating. The room was very clean, comfortable and had some lovely luxurious touches that made the stay perfect. Minor issue with the toilet seat which was fixed as soon as we reported it to reception. It would have been nice to have had a bit more milk available for the hot drinks in the room as we are both big tea and coffee drinkers, but I'm sure we would have been given more if we had asked. It was nice to see a lot of use of local produce in the hotel and quality products like molten brown I'm the bathroom. Overall we had a very peaceful, relaxed stay and would definitely return.

The room was beautiful. A really special room with added extras. The bathroom was huge and very nice. The only problem was we were in room 203 and from approximately 6am each time the hall way door (which was just outside our door) closed it shook our door like someone was trying to enter so woke us and gave us a fight each time. You could forget it if it happened only once but it kept happening over and over so a relaxing lie in was out of the question.

Hotel in excellent position, lovely seating at the front of the hotel, sun all day! Bar and lounge areas are beautiful! However, our room was not clean, the bed valences were very dirty and the chrome towel rail was covered in dirty water marks. There were paint splashes everywhere, looked like the paintwork had been freshened up by a child. The beds felt hard and low quality, my partner was ok but i sleep on my side and woke up with my hips feeling bruised. Tea, cofee etc was not replenished in three days apart from when we asked. Ending on a positive, the breakfast was very good and staff very friendly and helpful.

Major problem was the constant noise throughout the night which sounded like a noisy bathroom fan running continuously!!! A real shame as a very poor nights sleep in lovely surroundings. Room was constantly plagued with sewage smell. The staff tried to help but were unsuccessful in resolving the issue. On New Year’s day even the ground floor bathroom had to be shut for a period of time because of the same problem.
Also throughout our stay we had no heat in the room and it was freezing temps outside. The staff brought us a small heater which did help but that made the already small room even smaller.
The food was lovely and so were the staff but when we complained about the issues we were offered a small discount for another visit. Hence we will not be going back again.

This is a great place to stay in Stratford. From the moment we walked through the door, we just felt we had made the right choice. A roaring open fire, a beautiful Christmas tree, oak panels and a winding staircase.
All the staff were exceptionally courteous, welcoming & friendly. We had a great room, with a huge bathroom.
The place is full of history as you’d expect. Breakfast was great and there’s a great bar serving a good choice of cask & craft beer.

Everything was just marvellous! A beautifully decorated room, spotless bathroom, fabulous rolltop bath, lovely warm robes and delicious brownies with a handwritten welcome card. The staff were amazing: friendly, warm, knowledgable and kind - nothing was too much trouble. The cosy, historical dining area served delicious breakfasts and sublime evening meals, and the coffee was superb. I loved every minute of my stay and would highly recommend The White Swan.

This was a great hotel, in a great location. All the staff were friendly and welcoming.
The room was spotless and lovely and warm. The bed was comfortable, bathroom was squeaky clean had everything in the room that you may need on your stay.
We had breakfast with them and it was yummy. We also had a light meal there and that was tasty too.
Would highly recommend staying here.

We stayed for one night in this beautiful historic hotel. The room was a good size, super clean & was tastefully furnished. The options for breakfast were varied with food being cooked to order, & everything was provided that you could possibly need. The breakfast waiting staff were very pleasant & helpful & it was the same for staff throughout the whole hotel. We will be staying again soon!

2 nights with Shakspear
No free parking locally. The hotel is in the town center with easy access to local sights and amenities. There is a lift at the hotel so handy for disabled persons. The beautifully decorated rooms are large and comfortable. The bar prices are expensive and any drinks or food hadled or served by waiters bears a 10 percent service charge.
The room we booked was equiped with a lovely roll too bath and walk in shower.
Unfortunatately for me on both mor ings of the stay my breakfast was of poor quality.
The streaky bacon was inedible the tomato and mushroom overcooked and dry and black pudding on the first day dry and crispy
Luckily the other 3 in the party chose eggs benedict or ommeletes all of which were very good..

Excellent stay!
We stayed for 1 night Sunday - Monday in September 2025 and had a great time. All the staff were very friendly (something I rarely say!), the room was comfortable, reasonably priced, and the breakfast was great, with a wide range. The main dining room is is full of character and the hotel is well located within a few minutes walk of many of the attractions. Would definitely stay again!

All staff we encountered were great, really went out of their way to make our stay special. Reception staff ensured that the flowers and Prosecco we ordered were delivered to our room prior to our arrival, they also added chocolates and a card, they were also very helpful and accommodating during our stay.
The restaurant and bar staff were also very friendly and helpful, for instance when booking dinner for Sunday evening, to ensure availability of ingredients following a busy lunchtime, they reserved sufficient for our 8 o’clock booking.
Overall, they didn’t make a fuss over our golden wedding anniversary weekend (which we didn’t want) but they did help to make it special.
We will definitely stay at the White Swan when we next visit Stratford upon Avon.
