Cet hôtel est situé dans un ancien couvent. Les chambres sont spacieuses. A l’accueil, Anna Maria est très aimable et donne de bons conseils pour visiter la ville avec le sourire.

Perfect location on the marina of Trani, with a stunning view of the whole harbor just out of the window. The building is what you would expect from a convent, the rooms are big, bathrooms are tired, the service does the job.

It's beautiful and for people attending the VIS conference it is extremely convenient. The staff are very helpful and the atmosphere is positive.

However ... the world has moved along, and I would have appreciated a kettle to make tea and a coffee maker -- these are standard items in an upscale hotel. A mini fridge would be nice as well, and a source of revenue for the hotel.

Having said this, I will book a room for VIS 2016!

Huge disappointment.

Positives: the building, views across harbour & staff were good. We very much looked forward to staying at the hotel for the above reasons, the 4* rating & the expectations set by the hotel website.

Unfortunately the service received did not live up to the 4* rating or the website expectations. To say we were disappointed is a massive understatement.

Lovely location - right on Trani harbour. Our room - 211- had a marina & cathedral view. The hotel is a bit tired. As per other reviews, the carpets should be replaced as they were badly stained in places. Appreciate the carpets might be “heritage” but they do need attention. The room itself was big. The windows are high (not floor to ceiling) so anyone of a small height may have problems looking out. The air con was very good - we needed it in the late August heat. It meant sleeping wasn’t an issue. There are some basic things the room could have benefited from such as tea & coffee facilities & a stocked mini bar. The fridge kept our personal drinks cool. The breakfast was good but not enough cooked items such as sausage & bacon - only scrambled eggs. The other choices were good & the cappuccino served by Alfonso was excellent - Alfonso deserves a mention. He spoke good English & gave us some useful tips. I’d also like to mention Carmen on reception. She was lovely & helped when we had a bit of a problem. Trani itself is lovely but probably only for a 2/3 day stay. There are not many English speaking people there & the tourist industry is prepped for Italian’s. On hindsight we should have done a “road trip” in Puglia, travelling south every 2/3 days & staying in different resorts.

THE SMELL!

A room right on the water overlooking the harbor? Sounds amazing! And it used to be a church? That sounds lovely? Well, the problem was that everything just smelled old, and mildewy, and just plain awful! It made it hard to sleep and even breathe in there. Otherwise, things were pretty nice but the smell utterly ruined the whole thing! It was very sad because we had such high hopes.

Beautiful vies, great location, friendly staff

The hotel is very conveniently situated right smack in the center of town and was great to stay at. The staff (Anna Maria) were just wonderful. The view on the bay and cathedral was spectacular. Parking in peak season is free and on the street, so it took some patience to find a spot. But its very much worth it. The old convent charm was an added plus.

Beautiful place-some rooms are completely renovated and gorgeous-others are in process. Meanwhile it would benefit the owners to clean carpets and upgrade beds in older rooms. Wonderful stay in this renovated Convent.

Could not fault our stay here. Fantastic location. Friendly and v helpful staff.One side light wasn't working. We reported it and it was sorted by the time we returned to hotel. Best shower Ive ever had. Quite happy with courtyard view as quiet. Superb breakfast. Only a 10mn flat walk from station. Would highly recommend a stay here.

The location of this property is fantastic, right on the port with beautiful views and close to restaurants and a giant park. The rooms themselves are very sparse. We had a superior room with sea view and it had a bed, a small desk area a fridge and a tiny round table with one chair. I would not rate this as a 4 star hotel, more as a 3 star due to the sparseness of the rooms. The breakfast was average, lots of selection but they served leftovers the next day from what was not eaten the day before. The staff were all fantastic, especially the front desk.

Hotel location is excellent with parking available right in front of hotel. Wonderful view from sea view rooms. Check in is quick. Our room was very spacious with a large bathroom. We did not eat the buffet breakfast as we had an early flight in Naples and breakfast room was not open until 7 am.

The hotel needs a facelift, particularly the carpets need to be replaced or cleaned,

This historic and grand hotel is very good and comfortable. It's in the best possible location and our room had unbelievable views of the Trani marina/harbor. Lovely to walk in this city as well with lots of excellent fine dining options if you like shellfish.

Nice Hotel!

Great location by the port with a view of the cathedral. The town is fairly small so everything is within walking distance. Free parking right by the hotel. Large room and bathroom. Shower was a bit small. Lovely breakfast in a very impressive room. Carpets in the hotel are wearing a bit thin. Stayed 1 night in February. Could have stayed for longer.

Wonderful Hotel

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this hotel. It was clean and staff were very friendly and helpful. But most of all the location was perfect for walking and exploring the old port area. Ask for an ocean view room - it was a lovely view. Only improvement would be to renew the carpets in the rooms. Oh and the breakfast was the best we’ve had on our whole trip!

Loved staying here. Staff were warm and welcoming and very helpful with advice on where to go. Our room had a lovely view of the port. Breakfast was amazing - a fantastic buffet with loads of choice. I liked the grilled veg, topped focaccia and fresh fruit best.

Shabby San Paolo Convento.

When we went to our room it had not been cleaned properly.There was pieces of detritus on the carpet and what looked liked dog hair.The room smelled like a dirty dog.The carpet had old stains all over it.They changed us to another room which was a bit better.We had booked and paid for 4 nights and basically had to stay but we wanted to leave.The hotel is very run down.The breakfast is not very good either,the scrambled eggs were not replaced.The worst thing was the carpet in the rooms and hallways really need to be given a good clean or replaced.The only good thing about this hotel is the location.

Overall, I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The location is great, but apart from that, the rest of my experience was far below my expectations for a four star hotel, especially at this price point.

First the service was really poor - the receptionist staff were unhelpful and pretty apathetic most of the time. In addition, the wi-fi, when it was working, was so slow that my 3G mobile connection was faster and more reliable. There was no way I was able to effectively carry out my work over the connection. The rooms were spacious and views were nice, but they were dated and definitely long past their best. The breakfast was also very basic.

Overall, I would not recommend unless you get a really good deal on the price.

Lovely hotel housed in an old convent. Some areas felt a little tired but this did not detract from our enjoyment.
However the breakfast was very poor. We arrived towards the end of the mealtime and found that there were no scrambled eggs in the serving dish. After I asked for some to be provided, they did take approximately 20 minutes to arrive, and they were so dry that we thought that they had been cooked for the whole of this time.

Idyllic location, friendly and helpful staff. No restaurant for evening meal and bar was limited but always found us a glass of ice. Surrounded by good eating and drinking venues, spoiled for choice. If you can, get the only room with veranda overlooking marina and sea. If you get awakened by the youngsters at 4:30am the views are still worth it.

Great location but not easy to find parking.

The hotel is in an excellent location, right on the harbor near many restaurants and all the activity The hotel and room air conditioners were set at too warm a temperature so not comfortable for sleeping. Breakfast was good. Parking is only on the street and you have to be lucky to find a place. Room furnishing fine. It is a historical building.

Amazing location and huge room

Absolutely adored this hotel and Trani! The staff were very friendly, the position amazing and I had an unexpected amazing view and huge balcony. They loved my dog and the hotel became home to him. If you want perfect and boring then don't go here -my shower was broken but I didn't even bother complaining as it was very usable. If you want charm and cheer and huge rooms then this is your hotel.

Faded grandeur in perfect location

The building and its unrivalled location is as good as almost any top class hotel. However, the interior is in need of some loving care. The 'superior' rooms have a 'view to die for' across the beautiful harbour. Ours (114) was large, high ceilinged and with a large bathroom and shower. However no plug in the sink and the toilet flushing was temperamental. Little choice of fresh food at breakfast and on two of our three days there was no table laid up for us to sit at. Parking was a nightmare when we arrived late afternoon on a public holiday (May 1st), but plenty of free on-street parking at all other times. Michaela, the receptionist, was helpful and charming.

Romantic Port Location

Hotel is located in a magnificent location. Our room had a balcony and a spectacuoar view of the port. The hotel could use some updating, e.g., replace or shampoo the lobby carpeting. Staff was extremely friendly.

Trés bon séjour de 2 nuits dans cet hôtel idéalement situé sur le port de Trani. La chambre est grande, confortable, calme mais un peu ''ancienne''. Trés bon accueil, personnel sympathique et petit déjeuner copieux dans l'ancienne chapelle de cet ancien couvent. Ce qui a son charme. Pas de problème de parking gratuit en semaine mais pas le dimanche soir (et aussi le samedi je pense) car les rues sont bondées et aucune place de libre, pas même un dépose bagage devant l'hôtel.

dejligt ophold, dog bruger de ikke meget tid med en støvsuger, fandt krummer og snulder på gulvet, men resten af hotellet var pænt og rent. Lækkert italiensk morgenmad. personalet var virkelig hjælpsomme. Syntes måske der manglede en terrasse man kunne side ude på og nyde de skønne aftener på.

Disappointing service and communivationg

The view and location of the hotel were great. However, the building was under construction and there were no signs for the hotel. This, we wandered nearly an hour trying to find the hotel all the while making four or give calls (Note: hotels.com has wrong number) to the hotel reception, from where we did not get adequate help. And when we arrived around 8 pm, there were no free or any other parking near the hotel even though this is why we chose it for our stay. However, the room was spacious and the breakfast was excellent.

Struttura eccellente ma da rinnovare

La struttura antica è bellissima e di grandissimo fascino, con davanti la Cattedrale di Trani. Le camere molto spaziose come il bagno. Assolutamente da cambiare la moquette nelle camere e negli spazi comuni. Ha bisogno di una rinfrescata
