Marè

Marè is an amazing and fascinating building, perfectly located for the harbour and restaurants. Very comfortable rooms, although our ‘courtyard view’ was more of a brick wall which made the room a little dark. Breakfast served on the roof terrace was delicious with lots of choice of savoury and sweet pastries, bread, cold cheese, meats and fruit. It was disappointing that the roof top Solanza and spa area was closed and we were not aware of this before our stay.

When we arrived we were given a dark room with 2 very small windows, no light as a result and certainly no “courtyard view” as described on the Hotel.com website. We had to complain and were only then offered a more suitable option.
The reason we booked Mare Resort was because the name suggests something more than we got, while the description and photos in Hotel.com advised a Terrace, solarium, private beach, sun loungers and beach towels, none of which were available. Mare Resort failed in so many ways to match the description on the Hotels.com platform which enticed us to pay above our normal rate, and we were greatly let down by Hotel.com, and are entitled to a refund.

No wifi during our stay, other maintenance issues

While the hotel was modern and very central, and the staff was very friendly, we ran into some major issues during our stay. The WiFi did not work in our room or anywhere in our floor. We reported this shortly after our arrival but were told to try again later. The problem persisted throughout the night and on the next morning, and when we reported this to a staff member - they admitted that they had a problem and promised to have it solved “within 30 minutes”. Unfortunately this was never fixed until our checkout.
Since cellular reception at the hotel is also very weak - we had no internet connection during our entire stay.
Another problem was that the shower in our room did not drain, but instead flooded the entire bathroom.
Overall this is a good hotel, but maintenance issues should be resolved and staff should learn to address such problems when they occur.

Mare Resort

The hotel is very clean and extremely well located. Unfortunately the terrace which has an incredible view of the harbor and is usually used for breakfast was closed due to renovation and we had to content with an inclosed room. During our first day the breakfast was incredible but now due to COVID 19 the buffet formula is gone. However it is still very good.
I will recommend this hotel thanks to its location and cleanliness.

Despite the name it is most definitely a B&B and NOT a resort. No dinners in the winter time, and no gym or spa or swimming pool facilities. Staff were very courteous and attentive and it is very close to the harbour and lovely restaurants.

Can do better!!!

Trani is a beautiful resort really worth visiting. The Mare Resort is situated on a nice sport & easy to reach everywhere. How ever up arriving no one was at the reception area & the door was locked. We had to wait for nearly 10 min before someone arrived & I think he is the only person working that evening for a resort that has 13 rooms. Room was nice but the breakfast was nothing to rate on & they’ve got the simple order wrong, maybe they don’t understand English well🤔 we’ve asked the reception to book an restaurent for us & to inform us but they never did & we drove there & found out they’ve closed for the season till 3/1/19, Also the staff ask to park our car over night at €20 but in fact you can park in the street without paying as there are no parking restriction or meter on the street. To conclude my opinion of this hotel is to train up & hire more staff.

My stay

This hotel is perfectly located. It is right in front of the pleasure harbor where all the restaurants and stores are located. It is also 5 minutes away by foot from the cathedral. In the evening it is very lively and wonderful.
By aware that the accès to the hotel by car is very difficult at first. The street in front of the hotel depending on the time of the day becomes a semi pedestrian street and the hotel charges 20€ per night. However you have parking available in a square really close for only €2 to €4 per night.
The staff is extremely accommodating and will help you any time. The breakfast buffet is excellent located on the terrace of the hotel with a dream view of the harbor.
I will definitely return to this hotel.

Excellent location in picturesque town

Hotel could not be any better positioned. The room is of the highest quality and the bed extremely comfortable. Unfortunately the weather did not allow us to avail of the rooftop terrace for longer than half an hour before the cold got to us. The hotel has chosen not to display any cold meats, cheeses etc for the same reason. I asked if they had any cheeses and was told yes but not shown any so said I'd have a poached egg on toast instead. My wife and I were a little surprised when a full large plate of mixed cheeses were brought out along with two boiled eggs sitting in a bowl. we returned the cheese plate and tried to explain that we hadn't intended that. I know this confusion was owing to our not speaking Italian and the limited understanding of my English by the extremely pleasant receptionist/ assistant. However I would say breakfast was a disappointment for me as I do not enjoy sweet cakes and pastries first thing in the morning and that was all that was on display. cereal was there also but the limited milk was warm (not cold).Not having the cold meats and cheeses on display anywhere leaves the guest relying on the personal choice of the types and quantity of each of the breakfast staff who may have limited understanding of requests in English
Another hotel we stayed in got around this issue by having all the perishables and milk on display in a glass fronted fridge?

Good hotel close to harbour

Old building with lots of charm. Lovely views over Trani harbour and main piazza. Room was great but the hotel could have done with more staff, those that were there were good but there were not enough of them.

A renovated palace

Not a resort not even a restaurant
No facilities just modern hotel rooms
Ours was dark with no view and many steps but overall very nice.
Breakfast was very carefully metered out.

Great hotel - shame about the breakfast

Beautiful hotel in a great location. The rooms are fantastic and are very well equipped with free items in the mini bar which was much appreciated. What a disappointment breakfast turned out to be. No yogurts and had to ask for things - what was there was very limited.

Die Unterkunft als ehemaliger Palazzo ist etwas besonderes und hat Charme. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und das Personal war nett. Die Lage ist super, wenn man aus dem Hotel rausgeht, ist man direkt im Geschehen drin. Der Ort bietet auch sehr viel (Restaurants, Cafés, Shopping etc.). Mir persönlich hat an der Unterkunft jedoch ein Balkon, ein Pool und die Möglichkeit Abends im Hotel zu essen gefehlt.

Un hôtel qui a dû être beau… personnel peu aimable, informations contradictoires (ex : on peut garer sa voiture devant l’hôtel… et puis non, juste pour déposer les bagages, le petit dej commence à 7h… et puis non, c’est 7h30)
Chambre spacieuse mais fenêtre au ras des pieds !
Jolie salle de bains. Plage privée mais il faut la voiture.
Solarium inutilisable… complètement destroy sur le toit terrasse.

L’hôtel n’est pas accessible en voiture car il est situé dans une zone ZTL.
Le parking de l’hôtel est payant (25€) mais vous trouverez des places dans les rues alentours en zone bleue( payantes).
L’hôtel a beaucoup de charme face à la Marina

Fantastisk hotel - god beliggenhed

Fantastisk hotel - skønne værelser, venligt personale.
Morgenmaden er meget italiensk med mange kager - kaffen var god.
Hotellet ligger med udsigt til havnen og med masser af gode restauranter i nærheden.
Man må ikke parkere ved hotellet, men de kan tilbyde parkering i garage for 20 EUR - de parkerer bilen.

Struttura storica affascinante che si affaccia sul golfo di Trani, ma la struttura dovrà adeguarsi alla categoria di appartenenza.
ho segnalato in reception tutti i punti che riporterò,
- riscontrata mancanza di pulizia dei pavimenti in camera, con presenza di polvere e capelli.
- guarnizioni abbastanza usurate della doccia, l’acqua defluiva all’esterno copiosamente, valutare anche gli scarichi.
- interruttore applique non funzionante su luce di cortesia accanto al letto.
- mancanza di amenities a marchio Culti, pur pubblicizzando la marca negli spazzi dell’albergo e i camera, al suo posto presenti flaconi non monouso a marchio Omia.
- scarso assortimento della scelta dei prodotti da colazione, non adeguato per la categoria.
