Overall, it is very family friendly. They have kids section in the buffet with fries/ chicken fingers etc, high chairs, plastic plates. Kid's club always opens with kids activities ongoing. I am happy to go again with my two young kids if there is any good deals available.

It is definitely family friendly but don't forget water shoes for the kids as the area around the kids pool was quite slippery. I wish the drinks were a little more consistent and that they cleaned up the glasses around the pool area more. We stayed around the activities pool so I can only speak on that. The Asian restaurant (Silk) was awesome, the Italian (Amalfi) was also very good but La Pergola (Mexican) was terrible. Nice omelet station at the buffet. Snack bar (La Bamba) was very good and there's an ice cream stand as well. It is a time share resort but we were only approached when we arrived and they respected that we were not interested. And I loved that there was laundry available for 120 pesos per load including soap. Didn't have to bring home wet clothes!

We enjoyed a beautiful room overlooking the pool with the ocean as a background. It's a very impressive lobby and that impression stays with you and is enhanced everywhere you go. From the incredible Pacific ocean sunsets to the \" by reservation\" only restaurants to the buffets everything is above standard. We highly recommend and will be back.
The one thing we'll do differently is to request a room not overlooking the pool, we're senior citizens and did not appreciate the music and loud activities. Some may love it and the patio doors to the balcony were good quality providing good sound proofing. But if you want to enjoy the balcony it's loud, fortunately by the time it was time to watch the sunset the pool activities had ceased.
Beach lounges are plentiful and lots of staff available to fulfill your needs.

Upon check-in be prepared to get bombarded with a time-share presentation. After travelling for most of the day all I want to do is get to my room, instead I have to sit through a mini presentation trying to get us to buy in, I was not a happy guest at this point.

This was our second time staying at Marival Emotions and we had a great time! We love the location. It’s not far from the airport and it’s right on the beach. They have 4 pools so there is something for everyone and it worked well for our family. The staff are generally very friendly and we were very impressed by their positive demeanours despite what was happening in Puerto Vallarta and not being able to go home that night. The food is pretty good. We enjoyed their new Asian fusion restaurant, but we wish they had more options. They used to have a Steak and Seafood restaurant that we really liked.

The room had a strong mildew smell as did all of our clothing. The floor was filthy when we arrived! They cleaned/fixed the air conditioner when we complained but the humidity and smell continued for the week. Definitely run down for the price we paid!
There was much more Spanish speaking than English and we actually felt out of place at times.
Finally, they charged only the two of us out of our group of twelve, $40 US to stay and have lunch for the two hours after checkout waiting transport to the airport.

Very great stay here. We travelled with our 2 daughters and 8 other family members. It was a seamless experience. The staff are very polite and friendly. The food was great, and nobody got sick the entire trip. The grounds are very well kept. The beaches were super nice too. I was not expecting that for being on the pacific side. And we were in the ocean every day. They had lots of activities, events going on, and “parties” by the main pool. Lots of stuff for the kids to do as well. The resort is a short drive from the airport too. Overall a great trip and we will definitely be going back here.

This is our 4th or 5th time at this property. The staff is always friendly and the rooms are clean. The porters at the front of the property take good care of your bags and are super knowledgeable. The front desk staff work hard to accommodate room requests. The food at the restaurants is overall good quality. Amalfi will always be our favourite for quality and food selection. The asian restaurant was very tasty and the staff very accommodating. The (for purchase) steak at La Pergola was delicious and well prepared. The octopus was also a very interesting dish that you wouldn't normally expect. Very tasty. We also enjoyed breakfast as well as the changing dinner menu at the buffet. We did miss the homemade guacamole that was more prevalent the last few times we were there. The morning outdoor coffee bar featured a choice of coffee/tea or mimosas or a lovely bloody mary - with glasses that were pre-rimmed with Taijin. Yum. Much appreciated. The outdoor Mexican dinner surpassed expectations. The menu is varied and very good. The following entertainment with the 11 piece mariachi band and regional dance show was great. Lots of beautiful, clean pools to choose from. Thank you, Marival!

Birds landing and pooping on buffet food/utensils , is unacceptable , there is going to be a major health issue soon. Feel sorry for the hundreds of people staying near noisey pool. They even had a private event that continued past 11pm (really loud , really bad band).

We enjoyed our stay. We were in a 1 bedroom suite with 2 kids.
Pros. Amazing service, friendly staff. Love the layout of the resort, nothing is too far of a walk, beautiful beach and waves.suprisingly lunch buffet was amazing, lots of prawns. Tried it out on our last 2 days and wish we went before. Beds are super comfortable. Enjoyed taking the bikes for rides.

Cons: trying to get a reso for a resteraunt. We tried 2 times and couldnt get one so unfortunately didnt get to try any of the amazing places . Dinner buffet was ok, some nights better then others. Would have been nice to have ice cream at dessert area like all the other resorts we have been too. Although the desserts looks beautiful, they all taste the same and have the same texture. Nights are quiet which is nice but we had a 2 bedroom suite above us and heard banging and running around all hours of the night so sleep wasnt great. Drinks were very inconsistant . Sometimes they are made them great and other times it tastes like pure alcohol. Kids drinks are so overly sweet my kids couldnt finish them. They have a hard time understanding little sugar . 1 other con ill mention is the entire week we were there they wouldnt let us use boogie boards as waves were too big. Isnt that the point of boogie boarding? The ocean was full of people doing it.

I would still return to this resort as it was very good for kids and very clean. And nice warm pool water :)

We recently returned from Marival Emotions Resort in Puerto Vallarta. After a long travel day, we arrived to find our rooms—booked together—were separated across the resort. My daughter has special needs, and I had emailed months in advance requesting we be placed close together. We were told it was based on availability. After about 30 minutes of advocating, we were moved to the same building and floor, which we appreciated, but our room faced a parking lot instead of the view we booked.

Check-in was also frustrating as we were approached with what felt like a timeshare/VIP sales pitch. After declining, the staff member’s attitude changed and we received little information about the resort.

The room was clean but had minor issues like a burnt-out bathroom light and uncomfortable patio chairs. The bed was average. Service in the buffet and restaurants was inconsistent—we often had to get our own coffee and cutlery. The food was okay but not memorable.

Booking à la carte restaurants required lining up at 7 AM on select days, only to find them fully booked or available very late, despite never appearing full.

Positives included clean pools, a nice beach, and great entertainment—especially the Greatest Showman show.

Overall, we wouldn’t return or recommend it as an all-inclusive.

The one bedroom suite provided ample space for a family of 4. The buffet provided an excellent selection of choices with options changing each day. The pools were clean and we never struggled to find a set of pool chairs together.

My only qualms are: it is basically impossible to book the speciality restaurants. We arrived at 6:50 (booking opens at 7:30), were 8th in line and the only option for our group of 6 was 9:20pm. Lastly, it would be a bonus if you could order from a limited food menu poolside but not such a big deal. La Bamba was great each day for lunch.

Overall, this was a good stay and a very family-friendly resort with lots of activities for kids. The property is about 25 minutes from PVR airport, clean, and in good condition with friendly staff. There were plenty of chairs at the pool and beach, and the rule about removing items before 8 am helped prevent early chair-saving.
Check-in was smooth but you are directed to a membership/time-share pitch after getting your keys, which was annoying when we just wanted to get to our room. The ATM was out of service our entire stay, which made tipping difficult.
There are several pools, including a kids’ pool and an adults-only pool (no swim-up bar). The two swim-up bars were busy and drinks were on the weaker side. Poolside service was minimal unless you tipped.
Food was mixed (about 3/5). The buffet (Casa Bella) was inconsistent in service and replenishment, though the omelet station was great. À la carte reservations were the biggest frustration—you must line up around 7 am and may wait hours, often ending up with very late dining times. Amalfi had excellent service and good food; Silk was good but had extra charges on some items. La Pergola was decent but had long waits.
Our room was clean with good water pressure, but the shower temperature fluctuated, toiletries weren’t always refilled, and towel service was inconsistent. Water refill stations were often out of order.
Entertainment and activities were plentiful and well suited for families.
Final thoughts: Great for families.

The rooms are nice and bright with comfortable furnishings. Our first room faced the activities pool which was noisy so we were moved across the hall without a problem. The beach is amazing. The buffet is very good, but the room is noisy . Service is courteous, but slow when very busy. The reservation system for the a la carte restaurants is frustrating . Staff are kind and helpful. We had a problem with the fridge in our room that never got fixed and the ceiling fans only have one pull chain so you either get light and one fan speed or no light and adjustable fan. The sink taps also were in need of repair. I have stayed here several times and it is a good place, but the quality seems to be gradually diminishing.

Overall pretty good resort for families. Well maintained. Resort is on the beach which is pretty clean. Pools were great. Enough dining options but not too many, should be ok for not fussy eaters. We tried Italian restaurant and service in there was great. We tried Japanese restaurant and service in there was not great. Many people there do not speak English so at times can be difficult to find or get stuff. There is pizzeria open till 12 at night which is great. No dedicated cafe though on the resort and there was no good coffee anywhere on the resort. There is Starbucks on the resort. Decent value for money.

If you are not a member or “socio” of their hotel their customer service is horrible. They have preference for their members- so you cannot enjoy 3 sections of the hotel if you are a non-member. Their check-in/out process is poor- only 1 or 2 receptionists available. They offer “day passes” thus an overflow of people in the resort. Not too much selection in their “buffet” area in addition to food was at room temperature. Rooms need to be updated- I stayed in building 10 ( per staff it’s one of their original buildings) which was attached to water pump room which always sounded like you were on an airplane. Lastly, we go to relax for our vacation-mowing the grass at 7 am?? Really?!!!

Our stay was disappointing.
Check-in took over 45 minutes with staff who seemed overwhelmed and unfriendly, followed by a very pushy membership sales pitch insisting everything is “basic” unless you upgrade.

Although we arrived at 3:00 PM, we didn’t receive a room until after 9:00 PM. The first room assigned was still dirty from the previous guest, causing further delays.

The resort felt overcrowded, the mattresses were old and uncomfortable, and noise levels were consistently high due to loud pool music and a wedding on the property.

The photos on the website do not match the current condition of the resort. The property looks worn and outdated, as if the pictures were taken many years ago.

Food was just okay. The only true positives were the nightly shows and the activities staff, who were genuinely engaging and enjoyable.

The staff were not helpful when asked questions. One woman in particular did everything she could do to ignore people waiting in line.

We took kids and they gave us an agenda of what was available. Our kids wanted to do the mini talent show. On the paper agenda, it said it was one day, but the online version said it was a different day. Either use a paper agenda or tell folks to use the online version.

The room, especially the bathroom, was very dated, lots of stains on the counter. Our room was 1738.

Some days the music was so loud at the kids' pool that we had to wear ear plugs to get any rest.

The Amalfi restaurant was great and the staff in it were very helpful.

e will definitely never go to this all inclusive again.

The property focused more on upgrading your services and catering to those members who did, Offering separate eating and drinking areas. For an all inclusive resort this was very disappointing.
It was extremely difficult to get a reservation for dinner at a decent time and was only accommodated after I complained.
After being at the resort for 4 days one of the guests in our groups bracelet came off and he was asked to leave the pool with his child. When requesting another bracelet they refused wanting him to leave the property. Again unacceptable when his name is on the reservation and payment was received. Thankfully he was able to obtained another bracelet but only after they completely stressed the family out.
You want to have vacation to make good memories and it should be easy to relax and enjoy your time, sadly this resort did not meet those expectations.

This place wasn’t what we were hoping for, AC in the room doesn’t work, shower had hair all over the walls! Rooms are tiny and so are beds! They need to renovate! There is only 3 restaurants to eat and the food was good but very busy and long wait ! This is defined like a 3 star hotel, nice kids play area but very crowded and they want you to pay for everything extra! As much as we wanted to love this place we didn’t! Nobody really cares if you happy there or not ! We took the most out of this trip for our kids! Absolutely loved Puerto Vallarta but definitely not coming back to this hotel!

Beach is simply amazing. However, most days the purple flag was up so we couldn't use any of the ocean toys. People were in the water and it was completely safe. Wish we could have used the toys.
Restaurants were great! Service was spectacular! Buffet was good too.
Rooms are tiny. Bathrooms were not good with glass doors without locks and you could see in. Not comfortable with 3 people in the room.
Entertainment at night was fun. Wish there was more activities during the day in the pool. Seemed like the holidays affected day time entertainment.
Overall, I like Marival Emotions. Would go back again.

Original room was deep in corner of bottom of building facing the staircase. Bedding was dirty as soon as we went in. We immediately requested assistance and were moved to a different room. Very minimal dining options, especially for picky eaters. Not much for snacks or ice cream. Alexandria at the main pool bar is OUTSTANDING! She alone was a positive experience. Pool was great sized and temp. Cleaned if something happened and other pools to use in meantime. Ocean was clean and amazing. Many \"preferred\" area chairs/beds not used because they charge for them. May as well allow use to others if not being utilized. Shows were great and start at 8:30pm. For the cost, food, dessert, activities and staff should have been much better. Several room issues, but spent most of our time in the ocean or at the pool. Weather was amazing.

This is our family’s honest review of Marival Emotions, intended to share details that may not be clear in other reviews.

As former Riu guests, we found the food and rooms to be average, despite the resort advertising itself as a 5-star luxury property. Compared to similar resorts, the experience did not meet that standard.

Check-In:
What was presented as a quick check-in turned into a disguised sales pitch for a 90-minute presentation, despite assurances it was not timeshare-related. The process felt misleading and pushy. They were so focused on signing us up that they failed to mention the kids’ snack bar, which we only learned about at checkout.

Food & Dining:
Limited buffet: no avocados, guacamole, or nut options. Pizza quality was good but inconsistent due to understaffing. No poolside or beachside food or drink service, which was especially inconvenient while traveling with a 2-year-old.

Pools & Beach:
The heated kids’ pool is nice, and the beach is excellent for families, calm, sandy, and shallow.

Rooms:
Our Club Room was clean but basic. The minibar was minimal, housekeeping did not consistently restock coffee, and water pressure was inconsistent. The mattress and bedding were uncomfortable, though the pillows were good.

Comparison:
We visited Friendly Fun Vallarta during the same dates for much less money and found the food, poolside BBQ, and beach service far superior.

Overall:
In our view, this is a 3-star hotel at best with impressive grounds.

The other restaurants require reservations on the day before at one of the desks and they say all are booked?? You cannot call to reserve, not from the hotel either. I think they keep these restaurants for the \"VIP\" customers. Also the timeshare is one of the ways you can become a VIP customer.

The room was pretty small even though we booked a grand king room. Seems false advertising.

This was our first time doing an inclusive resort and we probably won't be doing it again.

Honest Review of Marival Emotions
I truly believe that a vacation is what you make of it and overall we did have a great time. That said, here is my honest review.
The good:
The resort itself is beautiful and very family friendly. The pool and water slides were a perfect size and so much fun for the kids (aged 2 and 4). Everything for children was great and my kids absolutely loved the food options available to them. The concierge service was exceptional and truly went above and beyond, especially when our airline lost our bags. They were hands down the best part of the experience. My son loved the mini golf and my daughter like the playground. We also enjoyed the shows. We wanted to do bikes but we ran out of time! There was so much to do.
The food highlights:
The Silk Restaurant was absolutely amazing and honestly saved the resort for us. Some of the best Asian food I have had. The pizza and pasta were also delicious (wish this was open all day not just at 5) I did have Burria tacos at the Mexican restaurant that were good, but that was pretty much the only standout there.
The bad:
The Italian restaurant was completely inedible and honestly disgusting. We went 2 times just to be sure. And the use this bizarre ragu tasting sauce in every dish. The buffet was not good at all and I barely ate there. Breakfast was also a big disappointment. For lunch, the options were very limited and you can only eat so many hamburgers and hot dogs. I really wish there were more lunch option

Staff was absolutely great, they helped us move to a room with a tub since my small
Children inky take baths. The entertainment team does a wonderful job, and we especially liked the kids club. The food was okay, need more variety. I did have a small issue with a bartender not wanting to provide a carton of milk for my small kids, as they still drink milk at night. However, the staff helped resolve the issue. Great place overall, especially when traveling with kids!

Starting with check in, we arrived around 4pm and we were really hungry. We let the welcome staff know that we were hungry, but they still took a long time to go over the rules and amenities. He also tried to get us to go to a timeshare breakfast a couple of times during our stay. After our hour long check in the only option for dinner at that time was at the Piazzetta dei Forni, which wasn’t bad, except for all the birds that stole my son’s pizza. The rooms were fine, except that the bathroom and shower have glass doors with just a little bit of privacy glass in the middle. My three boys shared a room with their older sister and privacy was difficult to get. They had to use a towel in between for more privacy. The beds were on the firm side, and the ceiling fan in one of our rooms was abnormally loud. Maid service was hit and miss with one of our rooms not getting cleaned one of the days. To eat at the premium restaurants you have to have VIP access. Besides the buffet, pizza, and poolside restaurants there are three restaurants that are included with the all inclusive, you have to make reservations for two of the three from 9am to 3pm near the front. Desk. Amalfi (Italian) and silk (Japanese ). When we tried to make reservations most of them were full and we had to settle for later times, or different days. There are no reservations needed for La Pergola(Mexican) but its first come first served. All three dining options were mediocre. Beach and pool were 👍. Shows lame.

We were really looking forward to our stay because the room and the view were genuinely nice — that part we enjoyed. Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the price or expectations.

Our room keys did work, and we had to go to the front desk twice before someone finally came to help on the third try. We also didn’t have enough towels for our group.

One of the most disappointing moments was at the pizza bar — we sat and waited patiently, and even though the staff member made eye contact with us multiple times, we were never acknowledged or helped.

We were also told we qualified for a late checkout, but our keys were deactivated right at 12 PM even though we had asked earlier if we needed to do anything else.

Overall, the room was nice, but the way several staff members treated us made the stay less enjoyable. I hope this helps improve service for future guests.

Stayed here for 7 days with the family (group of 15).
We had a lovely time. As with any hotel, there were some pros and cons.

Pros: excellent tennis courts. Great condition and highly under-utilized. Could always get onto a court. This was probably because the pickleball courts were so busy!
There were regular tennis lessons (see the schedule posted below). Ricky was our instructor. He was great.
Food at the buffet was pretty good. Always fresh. We did not have trouble with long lineups as we went to breakfast before 9am. However, after 9am there were very long lines to get in for a meal.
The gym was large. Equipment old and a bit tired but it was well equipped. Regular pilates, yoga and spin classes offered.
There was regular beach volleyball and free boogie boards available. There were also shuffleboards, life size chess, table tennis, and mini golf.
Beach was clean, and great for long walks and swimming. Two days the red flags were out but you were still permitted to swim.
Overall, service at the resort was good. Friendly staff.

Cons: twice we booked for a La carte dining.
These experiences were awful. Both times, the food took over 2 hours to arrive. We dined at Silk and even after a 2 hour wait we were delivered hard, undercooked noodles and rice.
It seems that the staff and kitchens struggle with serving groups.
One of the people in our group did get sick for 4 days from something that was served at the restaurant, we think Mai Thai or

When we first arrived we were given the wrong room, we were switched the next day but they had wanted us to checkout of the room at 12 and check back in, with 2 kids under 5 we said absolutely not. For this error we were given a pass to Mai Tia which was for members only, the service was extremely slow. The grounds were very slippery when wet and lots of wipes were seen, thankfully non from us. The Buffett was ok, nothing special. The AC unit in our living room dripped like crazy if you left the door open at all. They had a restaurant that was open for breakfast 6 days a week, which was great! The new silk restaurant was amazing and had great food! Most staff were friendly and the grounds were kept clean

Everything was good, but the hotel lost big points in our rating at check in and checkout. It was the first hotel we stayed at in the past 10 years that required extra payment (CAD100) for us to be able to eat at the buffet after our check out at 12pm and until our shuttle was supposed to pick us up at 4pm. They were also not straightforward about it when we asked a couple of days in advance, very dismissive in the information they offered. They could have given us much better information at the \"welcome\" info session as well, when their main goal was to convince us to attend some sale pitch the next day. They wasted 30 minutes of our time and didn't even end up poiting us to the right direction to our room. Good stay overall and it's a shame that they risk their reputation with small details like this. Don't think we'll be going back.

My family stayed at Marival Emotions for a week (including 2 kids and 2 grandparents). The staff was phenomenal and were happy to help us with our Spanish! The kids club was excellent and included time at the beach and the pool. There were lots of activities including ping pong, tennis, pickleball, shuffleboard, etc. The food was decent with lots of options including a kids buffet. We loved our week there and would go back!

Property was nice, pools and bars were well kept and enjoyable. Rooms were clean and comfortable with balcony that overlooked one of the pools. A few negatives, nobody explained anything to us when we arrived we asked quite a few staff questions and seemed like they expected us to already know everything. Another downfall was the teen room and other areas could really use some maintenence, they were very run down. Another downfall was the the pools did not close down until 10pm but the staff would try to push you out of the pool or off the chairs long before that and the pool bars closed at 6pm seemed early to me. Overall was a pretty good stay
