This review is specifically regarding the conduct of the night manager, Kiefer Braizer.

His handling of a guest situation was hostile, dismissive, and entirely unprofessional, culminating in me being removed from the hotel by security at 2am without justification. I was then charged $300 for damages I did not cause and did not authorize.

This reflects a serious lapse in judgment and raises concerns about how guests are treated at this property. The matter is currently being disputed and escalated.

Access to Midtown Excellent. We were here two years ago and the renovations were in the works and now that they’re finished everything looks great!
We loved the live musician on a Monday evening. Luggage store staff was particularly friendly and we really appreciated that.

The hotel is well situated, and the staff were helpful.

The property needs some updates internally and the lifts often didn’t work.

At the time of our visit construction work was being done right outside the hotel all through the night and the noise heard in the hotel rooms on the road side was considerable. We requested a room move which the staff did accommodate. If staying at this hotel I would recommend requesting a room at the back, as these rooms are much quieter.

Arrived in NYC on the hottest day so far this year. I booked two rooms and one room had no functioning AC. Took almost 5 hours to determine the compressor was shot and then another hour or so to get a different room. The staff was wonderful during this issue and refunded a credit for the inconvenience.

The room was on the small side, but very clean and it was very quiet. The lobby was always busy with people enjoying the places to sit, eat and visit. The live music on Tuesday night was fun! The elevators were extremely slow and it was difficult to find a car with room to get on at busy times, so we often just took the stairs from our 6th floor room. It would’ve been frustrating to be on a much higher floor and having to wait for the elevator!

Great staff. Clean room with tv, a bed, a closet, a chair, a bathtub - a great price but few amenities. I had to ask for paper cups ( no glasses) or coffee or chargers. The lobby was striking art deco and there was a café in the hotel where you could get coffee. Also a great location if you want to enjoy Broadway shows and Times Square.

If you’ve ever wanted to spend $300 for a hotel room with a bathroom you’d have to sit side saddle on the toilet to use, this is the hotel for you. If you like standing sideways in the shower since it’s too small to stand the normal way in, this hotel is for you. If you like other people’s hair in your bathroom sink when you arrive, this hotel is for you. On top of those issues, the bathroom had 2 bath towels and that was it. No washcloths, no hand towels nothing. It also had 2 shampoo pumps in the shower and no body wash or conditioner. The bathroom was so small that I had to exit the bathroom to dry off after my shower. The only reason I’m giving this place 2 stars is because the location was prime for going to see shows on Broadway. If you’re looking for comfort, go somewhere else.

The hotel was in a great location off time square. It was clean and the staff were really nice. I love the lobby area. I also felt safe because it required a key pass to go to your rooms.

We had a quad room with 2 bunk beds. It did not have curtains or drawers like the ones pictured on the website. But it did have chargers in the wall and the beds were comfortable. I loved the down blankets. The bathrooms were clean. Make sure you bring a body pouf or washcloth because they don’t have those.

A perfectly fine option if all you need is a place to sleep in between the hustle and bustle of a NYC trip. There's not a lot extra that it offers, especially when a resort fee was thrown in that I had no idea what it was about. Also hated that I had to pay this at check in and not as part of my entire booking on Expedia - this limited my personal spending budget on the actual trip to NYC when I like to pre book hotels in advance and get that cost out of the way.
The experience with the staff was just fine. I do wish we got a smile at least once or any sort of friendly demeanour but hey, who wouldn't be burnt out working in New York?
Rooms were clean but I've been in much cleaner hotels. Bathroom could've used some extra love.

More like a hostel than a hotel! The deluxe room was not very deluxe and very basic … small and outdated … bathroom was grubby with cracks in the bath and paint peeling off the back of the dirty door, grout was black around bath and toilet was dirty … nowhere to store cases or clothes properly … no water or glasses available in rooms … WiFi was intermittent …window view of air conditioning units not NYC! The bathroom ceiling had a bulge and leaked but nothing was done even after we reported it … asked for a room upgrade as we are platinum tier and reception said there weren’t any when we knew there were upgrades to suites … asked for a late checkout for all the inconvenience and given an extra hour! So would not recommend unless you are of school or college age as there were plenty of youngsters there eating takeaway food in the reception area and hanging around… luggage storage also cost us $3 per item which we didn’t expect!

Rude staff! I have stayed here before and it’s been okay- not great, but after this last stay, I will definitely not be coming back. Unfortunately I got very ill during my most recent visit and I called guest services to ask if I had some things delivered from the drug store could they be brought up to my room. They said yes. When my items showed they had been delivered, I called back down to guest services and they connected me with the front desk. The person who answered literally told me “nope” when I asked about my items being brought up to my room. She was beyond rude and told me it was against policy and didn’t care what guest services had told me. I couldn’t believe how rude she was- turned me off to this hotel for good.

Mold on bathroom grout, chipped paint and holes in woodwork. NO amenities at all, not even plastic cups. No ice bucket. For two, only receive 2 bath and l handtowel, no washcloths. AC in first room didn't work 1x2 foot hole in the drywall, and front desk very reluctant to give me a new room. Bed comfortable and nice shower. There is NO WAY this is a 4 star property, maybe 1.5 stars.

The AC in the room did not work, multiple calls down to the front desk and it still did not wor. On one of the calls I was told by maitnenance it was too close to the end of their shift so it was not their problem...
The radiator heat however would not turn off leaving the room a balmy 80 degrees the whole trip.

The rooms were tirex, the lobby was a bus stop with all the flogs of tourists with suitcases open, random people strays off street roaming around. Will never stay again. Staff was polite and nice ans shld be credited. Massive bus tours come here and clog up the elevators and there is some unsafe feeling - 2 incidents during my stay.

The Paramount at Times Square is hands-down the best hotel I have been to in NYC. The lobby is genuinely gorgeous, and the rooms are quaint. The rooms are on the smaller end (this is NYC after all), but it does not feel like they are small. They are laid out strategically to feel spacious, and the amenities offered are excellent. The staff are always super friendly and provide excellent customer service. Aside from all of these benefits, the hotel is in the perfect location. It is strategically near Broadway Street and Times Square. There are plenty of bodegas and great restaurants within a 2-minute walk of the hotel, and it is only an 8-minute walk away from the Gershwin Theaters, where Wicked plays. 10/10 recommend.

Pros:The lobby is beautiful and it is close to EVERYTHING in Times Square and Broadway. There is a small coffee shop downstairs and a bar. You can store bags, different price both times we used it.
Cons: Had to have maintenance come to our room 2 times because our room was 78 degrees.
They were out of conditioner..really? You can’t stream Netflix on the tv without a chromecast device HDMI. The elevators, are HORRIBLE! You would select your floor and it was skip it or take you to another floor. Did this multiple times when I was on it.
I would stay at another location.

Adorable lobby. Rooms are adequately sized but lack details. Bad design in bathrooms, few towels, prison style sinks, could do so much with little $$ cost but disappointing overall.

Elevators were tricky working only half the times.

But FANTASTIC location! Great NYC views and SUPER CUTE cafe adjacent to the lobby.

Not a bad place for the price just not the greatest rooms. It’s NYC and an older building but small details were overlooked that could have made it 5 Star worthy!

The rooms are standard size for nyc. Lobby is funky and loud. The coffee shop is quaint. There is no deli/convenience store - only vending machines - scantly filled - in the lobby. There are no in room fridges or microwaves available to warm food. The staff swapped bodywash for a second bottle of shampoo and towels were limited. I've stayed here twice because it is a great value and the location is top notch.

Paramount Hotel Times Square was a great option for our stay. It’s centrally located near Broadway and Times Square making it an easy jump off point for anywhere you want to go. It’s steps away from several subway stations and was an easy transfer from JFK airport via AirTrain and the subway. Rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. Staff members were pleasant and approachable with questions. The luggage storage was reasonably priced and convenient (just take cash to pay). I would definitely stay again when visiting NYC.

As a solo traveller, I booked a Single room at the Paramount Hotel going by photos alone. I later checked (as it was a rushed trip ) the reviews and saw some particularly negative reviews, but I am happy to say that, I personally had a very positive stay..
My only two quibbles, if you can call it that was the fact that
1, a previous guest had pulled the power cable for the TV. (Made no difference to me as i only used the room to sleep and bath.
2, the Plug for the sink was missing. (This is me having to search for something.
Other than that, I have no complaints.
Was it noisy from street traffic, yes..but thats to be expected for the city that never sleeps. I had difficulty one night then threw my ear buds in (always be prepared)

On to the positives.
1, location.
2, the main enterance/bar is uniquely decorated and i loved it. With bright neon colour lights. Great seating and secure lifts.
3, staff were all friendly when spoken with.
4, my bed in room 617, sublime. I was so comfortable
5, city tax i think was 165 and a dollar for a security/ charge for the room. (Deposit)
6, clean and tidy.

The location is what’s it’s all about. Otherwise, there is not much to brag about. The room is in desperate need of updating. The faucet was leaking, the heating was not working, the window would not open, there were no cups for water, no hand towels, no tissues. And, although exterior noise is not the hotel’s fault…it’s 2026! Soundproofing windows is a must in Manhattan. But again, location is key!!

The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and a decent size, the bed was comfortable. There was only one mirror in the room and no electrical outlets in the bathroom making it difficult to get ready to go out. The room was warm and the air conditioner was in operable so we had to open the window, which was fine and comfortably except it got stuck and when we called maintenance they never came. We weren’t able to check in until 4 and there were people with their luggage sitting and laying everywhere in the lobby, it looked like a homeless shelter. I will not stay here again.

There's plenty to do/see in the nearby area of 42nd Street. Thats a big plus!! The hotel's downstairs interior is absolutely gorgeous. However, I experienced having a room with a very large water bug (roach) which scared the bejeezus out of me once I discovered it. God knows how long it was there visiting with me lol. There was also a problem with the rooms temperature. Other guest had the same issue in regard to their room temperature. I was immediately changed to another room for my issues. Although, the new room had no bugs, it did in fact have water damage throughout. Which was an eye sore lol when in the room. My motto, spend only 4.5hrs in your hotel room once awake... sleep, wash, dress, snack, photo op, then leave. Outside of the room issues, the hotel staff was pleasant. The night life in NYC is always fire!! You can't go wrong. Enjoy everyone!!
