Good location but needs some TLC

We checked in and was given a room on the second floor but smoking was allowed on the floor but we were promised an uppgrade to a non smoking floor on the next day. Not really an upgrade only moving 2 floors up. The room was Ok but the breakfast area needs some TLC and staff knowledge of English was quite bad. The pool area which is quite big needs a complete renovation, a lot of things have been fixed by plastic padding. The food at the Japanese restaurant is good but you need to find the right waiter to fix the wine, the first night we got recomended a nice white from NZ and when we came back a few days later another waitress said they sold the last bottle so started looking for something else and a new waiter came and asked about the wine and he had another look and found another bottle. So you just need to find the right waiter. The Fish bar by the beach is nice for lunch and dinner and try the local shrimp ans fish. Also good service but sometime language challanges.

Great hotel, not so good \"uprade\".

Got a good package deal with a really nice Japanese dinner included. Breakfast is good quality.
Only thing was my \"upgrade\" that went to a higher level floor, but overlooking a maintenance area instead of the ocean view. Also had the AC machines ontop of my balcony who made a lot of noice.. I was already settled and unpacked when I noticed this unfortunately.
Staff is very friendly and service minded.
Beach is clean and I highly recommend this resort.

Check in was very slow. Reservation with breakfast but in the system, there was no breakfast.
First room had smelly bathroom and was changed the following Day. Kids playground is a bit old and could be refurbished. Conveniently located just in the beach.

I was disappointed about the ocean view room. I had to step outside to the balcony to see the water. The extra ocean view spending was wasted. Also, the shower door was installed wrong. The door had to be pushed in to get in and out. I’m 5’7” and weighted 148 lb had hard time to get out. Then I also discovered the room is a smoking room. As a matter of fact, all ocean view rooms are smoking rooms. So I decided to switch to the Garden View room. The shower door was installed correctly but found out one foot long mold on the ceiling. However, the beach is nicer and less polluted.

Everything was nice: room, staff, swimming pool, but in the restaurants of the resort there in not enough food choice for Europeans, we suggest to offer some more international dishes. Spa is too expensive! Finally, there were no amusements or performances. Everything is over by 21:30, too early for tourists !!

Overall it was a nice experience. The staff was nice and friendly however I have to mention that the spa experience was lacking professionalism. My frjen and I booked a two day spa just 2 days ago and we both had the facial done. However the morning after, we both had swollen and itchy feeling on our faces and my skin's condition is a lot worse than before. I would suggest next time you can give clients a skin allergy questionnaire or better explanation as to what's in the products for the facials. I would never get facials done in this hotel.

Nice location and beach front. Hotel getting old due to its age however overall very clean with very nice grass pitch in the center of the hotel. Everything working with nice staff. Great breakfast as well as BBQ dinner on every Wed and Sat. Sitting on the soft and nice grass pitch to have the BBQ dinner is a great enjoyable event. Hotel has sown its age with some wear and tear especially at the kids club pool area. It is interesting to see everything incl a float, toy car for the pool need to pay rental fee. I like the hotel anyway.

Of all the hotels lying along Yalong Bay, Marriot’s 2 blocks of rooms are the nearest to the beach.
Room is clean and is tiled with a big old carpet occupying the floor of king sized bed.
The garden is huge.

Great beach hotel with direct access to beach

The beach sunbeds are cushioned and very comfortable. That tells it apart from the other 5 star hotels nearby.

Food is great and we enjoyed the seafood buffet with special rate promotion. The hotel staff has done it right by speaking to hotel guests on the beach about the promotion.

We also enjoy the live music at the beach bar. The Filipino band are very talented.

We have got upgraded for room so we are very grateful.

Beautiful location & scenery with the food a miss

We had to wait a couple of hours to check in but worth the wait as we got an 8th floor room with stunning sea views. Breakfast (included) started off great - but got boring over 6 days being always the same. 1st experience at the Japanese restaurant was not good, The Chef at our Teppanyaki table was sullen and moody and not interested in the seated customers.. Too busy with serving the whole restaurant. The tempura (cooked by other chefs) was terrible.The batter was hard and oily wondering if old & worn out oil was being used. Not good value despite the place promoting itself as a top restaurant. Hotel amenities, facilities and service otherwise top class. Hotel room however is showing its age. Pity about the food overall. Better to take a 5 minute walk up the side road to 3 other seafood and Chinese restaurants for less than one-third the price.

Very nice hotel, always pleasant weather, not too hot. Clean environment. Would be perfect, but a lot of trainees who have not received proper introduction before starting the work in peak season. With good smile everything still works. Have a try and you will not be disappointed.

5-Star Hotel with 2-Star Guests

This hotel is very nicely designed with an excellent pool and comfortable rooms with good soundproofing. The staff is well-trained and eager to help. My son especially enjoyed his two swim lessons in the beautiful swimming pool. I loved the gym and its sauna. We enjoyed eating at the café, Chinese restaurant and beach bar. The prices for drinks are quite high at the hotel, so I recommend visiting the supermarket at the end of the hotel's curved entrance road and stock up on drinks and snacks as soon as you arrive. The food at breakfast is delicious, but some of the Chinese guests were overly noisy and gluttonous acting like they were preparing for a long hibernation. Some of the guests smoke in the lobby, bathrooms and in hallways (even on our nonsmoking floor). We were unlucky that President Xi was in Sanya during our stay, so security was very tight; we had to show room cards when we returned from the hotel. Worst of all, our driver couldn't come to the hotel to pick us up. I was shocked that the hotel took us in a bus to a parking lot paved with large rocks. This was very rough on our luggage, and I was rather angry with the hotel about dumping us off at such a horrible place! I would return to this hotel, but I would definitely avoid coming to Sanya when the president of China is in the city. I think the hotel should have warned us of the situation in advance.

We stayed 3 nights during December 2014. The hotel was lovely although it was evident that it was a little bit older than some of the other hotels in the area. However, this did not take away from the excellent experience. The standard twin share room had two double beds with a large bathroom. The best thing about this hotel was its fantastic private beach. I took a walk along the private beaches of the same stretch and the Marriott's beach was the largest, flattest and most pleasant on the strip. Would highly recommend this hotel. Another highlight was the on-sute Quan Spa. Although very pricey the service was very lovely and added immensely to our stay.

The hotel facility is very nice. The rooms are comfortable. The beds are acceptable but clearly not 5 star standard. The service was 4 star and the food was mediocre at best. The beach and the grounds were beautiful. I will return to Sanya for vacations and get aways but I will look for another hotel that hopefully will give me better value for my money.

Excellent Relaxing Beach Vacation

After three weeks travelling through China as a family with two older children we loved that beautiful quiet place. The park with the different pools was amazing and swimming in the ocean was perfect at this part of Yalong bay.
The accomodation was very clean and at a very high standard. The staff was very friendly and helpfully. Only the prices for a lunch snack or were much too high.
Overall we would highly recommend the Marriott Yalong bay.

Very Good Beach Resort Hotel in Sanya

We were very happy with our stay at the hotel. The hotel is close to being a great beach resort hotel. The staff in the lobby, kids play area, spa, and pool bar are very friendly; some of the restaurant staff seem like they're not so happy in their work. The food in the Chinese restaurant is excellent; please try the Dim Sum platter. The Café food is mostly good; breakfast could be better, but the waffles are quite good! My 9-year-old son loved the fish foot massage, large swimming pool, and beach. The garden view room was very comfortable, and it has good soundproofing. Check-in was a really great experience with cold tea served; the wait for check-out was a little long, so I think more staff may be needed close to check-out time. The only other problem is some old men smoking in the lobby, hallways and bathrooms; maybe the hotel could make a smoking room in the lobby for the folks who like to breathe cigarette smoke. I definitely don't want to see cigarette butts in the ashtrays next to elevators on my nonsmoking floor! All in all, the hotel is very good, and we will most probably return someday.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. The upkeep of the resort is amazing and the rooms are very nice and clean and comfortable. The breakfast also offers a large variety of food and is delicious. The front desk people are also very good at English and a young gentleman named Alex was very helpful in helping me book a train and contacted my next hotel for me that didn't speak much English to assist with my arrangements there. Overall I had a wonderful stay here

Great Holiday!

We had a wonderful time in Sanya Marriott Hotel.
Beautiful property, great beach, awesome hospitality, courteous staff and a great place to have vacation with Kids.
I would reccommend this hotel to anyone who has young kids.
The hotel staff made our stay very comfortable. The spa was great too.

I would like to mention Lotus and Alex from the front desk for their hospitality. We are thankful to you both. Keep up the good work and we hope to come back very soon.

Lovely pools

We enjoyed the room, the lovely pools, the beach, the buffet breakfast. The room was clean and the beds were comfy. The food at breakfast was great. We also enjoyed the cocktail happy hour at the bar on the beach. The lunches and dinners were not so great, not good value for money and not really up to a standard you would expect for a top hotel. We went elsewhere for meals other than breakfast. We also took along lots of snacks.

The hotel and staff were terrific. The criticism I have is that the cost of eating and getting a drink at the hotel is prohibitive. We like to have lunch by the pool and some drinks but found we had to leave the hotel due to their high costs.. Its their loss and ours.

Family stay at Marriott in Sanya

Grounds maintenance at Marriott was excellent. Staff spoke good English and they were very helpful. However, the room did not live up to the description. It was small for a family and with extra bed it did not have enough space for three of us. In addition, sea view that I booked was not available because we were given room on the 3rd floor and the sea was not visible from our room. Therefore, it is important to rate your rooms honestly with view and without view because the price differ depending on this. In brief, not all rooms that face the sea have the sea view.
Breakfast became little boring after 3 days because it was almost the same offer with a slight changes. It did not justify the price.

A nice relaxing place to enjoy the beach and pool

After a month of touring China, we really needed a place to relax and recharge our tired bodies. This resort was exactly what was needed. It started at check in where we were given a cool scented washcloth and a cool drink, to the wonderful swimming pool, to the ample chaise lounges by on the beach. We were able to relax and enjoy the sounds of the ocean.

The beach was much nicer than expected. And we were impressed that they hotel did not allow people to reserve chaise lounges with a towel. The rooms could have used a good sprucing up. The rugs needed to be replaced, but the large bathroom and the fantastic views more than made up for the dingy interior. The internet charge was very expensive compared to other hotels in china. The prices in the restaurants were fairly high but the quality of the food was good.

The best part of the visit was the employees. They were extremely friendly and helpful. Everyone from the front desk to the cleaning staff could speak English. They always greeted me with a smile and seemed to go out of their way to make my stay as nice as possible. They even took drink orders on the beach and served each drink with an iced washcloth. We felt very spoiled.

We were very satisfied with our stay, and I would recommend this hotel to others.

WiFi connection strong. Hotel room neat and tidy. Check in and out were smooth and quick. Beach was clean. A few pools for people to choose from. Breakfast was not bad but too busy at peak times that the hotel is struggling to manage. Staff were mostly very friendly.
Had dinner at the Chinese restaurant but their champagne glasses had a toxic smell which is totally unacceptable.

3回目に、クレームを言うと、持っできました。

靴下の止め糸が取れず、困っていたのに、対応が悪すぎる。

海の見える部屋を予約したのに、端の部屋で、ベランダに出て、はじめて海が見える状況どす。

Buen hotel en la mejor playa de Sanya

El hotel está muy bien conservado, tiene acceso directo a la playa y las habitaciones son amplias con baños muy completos. La comida está bien, pero no es lo mejor. En uno de los bares tienen una pareja de cantantes filipinos que amenizan mucho la estancia. El servicio sigue los estándares chinos.

전반적인 서비스가 너무 좋았지만 호텔 방 안에서 음식을 먹은 후에는 바로바로 씻어서 치워야 됨 !! 콜라를 마시고 잠깐 책상 위에 나뒀더니 콜라 주변으로 개미떼가 등장해서 너무 놀랬음 ㅠㅠ..
방에 바람도 시원하게 잘 들어오고 전망도 좋아서 출장으로 왔지만 잠깐이나마 휴가 온 느낌이 듬

비싼가격 값을 해요. 근데 바닷가라 그런지 방에 습기가 좀 차있는 느낌이에요. 묵는데는 지장없고 그냥 좀 습습한 냄새와 기분정도? 이전에 도심 힐튼에 있다가 여기로 왔는데 훨씬 좋아요. 조식도 더 맛있고요. 근데 가지볶음이나 볶음류 한두개는 고수가 있을 수 있으니 싫어하시는 분들은 볶음류를 조심하세요.
근처 백화구 몰이 택시 기본요금이라 위치도 좋아요.
네이버 블로그 추천 맛집은 건너편이고 거기도 가봤는데 일행중에 중국 향신료 싫어하는 친구가 있어서 맛있게는 못먹었어요. 근데 건너편 백화구몰 입구에 사진 속 집에 해산물 먹으러 갔는데 고수만 빼달라고 해도 다 맛있더라구요.
