Everything about Kinosaki Onsen is a dream! The view from our hotel room looked like a painting. The rooms were very spacious. More like an entire condo than a room. The staff were very prifessional and friendly. We felt like royalty. My son lived the pool. It was great to have a shuttle bus every 30 minutes. Loved everuthing about it and would love to reurn!

This property is a 5/5 for sure, this was a highlight of my trip. Spend a little extra and get the premium suite with the private bath. The staff are all amazing, they are super professional and always helpful. The hotel Onsen is amazing too, its baths + sauna were so relaxing. The danger about staying here is you never want to leave the hotel.

Loved it here. My wife did not want to leave.

We had the dinner, and we couldn't eat anymore. We seemed happy and excited to help us. were beyond full, but it was delicious. It was also our first time having a full Japanese meal.

The staff were lovely. They seemed happy and excited to help us.

The onsen on site was delightful. Passes were also provided for the public ones along with a shuttle to get you to them.

The yukata provided were comfortable. The futon was cozy.

The view from the room, the view from the dining area, and the nature at the onsen were all delightful.

Will likely go again if or when we get back to Japan.

I had an amazing time at Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei—every minute was a true pleasure.
The stay includes free access to all 7 public onsens in Kinosaki, which made the experience even more special. The breakfast and dinner were exceptional, with beautifully prepared meals that highlighted local flavors.

What truly stood out was the outstanding hospitality. Every staff member was incredibly attentive, kind, and knowledgeable, making me feel genuinely cared for. I especially appreciated the serene natural setting and the private onsen options, which offered peaceful moments of relaxation.

The spa massage was wonderful, and the shuttle service to and from the train station made everything so convenient. I felt blessed, rejuvenated, and completely at ease during my stay. I’m already looking forward to returning.

This was a lovely hotel with onsen. We decided on a half-board which was breakfast and in room dinner which was wonderful. There were 6-7 course dinner. Beautiful grounds, afternoon drinks , nice gift shop with a great assortment of snack foods, gift items, etc.Staff were very helpful .

Our stay at Nishimuraya was absolutely amazing. From the second we stepped in all the way u til check out. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They take youd luggage to your room and give you an explanation of the room set up and customs. They provide yukatas to wear to the onsens and shoes. The foodbwas out of this world and a grwat opportunity to try a traditional Japanese meal. I cant say enough good things. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer.

This hotel is beautiful, extremely clean and attention is paid to every detail. We stayed in a traditional Japanese room which was a wonderful experience. The tatami beds were so fluffy and comfortable. They provide robes and slippers so you can visit the 7 hot spring bath houses in the village. Breakfast was also very good. It’s pricey but well worth it for a one of a kind experience!

We were a bit worried that this might be too far from the center of town but on the contrary, it was an easy walk and we enjoyed being in a quieter location. Walk into town was beautiful. The food was better than a 3 Michelin star meal we had earlier in our trip and our room felt authentic. This was a true spa experience at a fraction of the cost you would pay in the US, but with much better service.

This was the best hotel--of any style--I've ever stayed at in my life. It was also my first ryokan experience. Everything was top-notch.

Service was exemplary--from the check-in staff, to my room attendant, to housekeeping, to the shuttle bus drivers, to the onsen staff--they were all so great!

The hotel's onsen were wonderful. I wish I could've gone more often!

The kaiseki dinners were outstanding. The western-cuisine restaurant (Ricca) was also outstanding.

The rooms and facilities were well-maintained and extremely clean. The waterfall view from the lobby lounge felt so Zen!

The shuttle bus was super convenient. Even if you don't make use of the shuttle bus, the property is only a 15-to-20-minute walk to town, and it's a very pleasant walk. The nearest public onsen, Kono-yu, is perhaps less than a 10-minute walk away. (It could've been even faster if I wasn't wearing geta).

I can't say enough good things about Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei. Excellent ryokan in a super-nice onsen town.

They actually have the absolutely nicest onsen in the whole town. Their dinner is superb! It's a beautifully run and well designed place. The Beds are so very comfortable and the location excellent. It was a such a memorable experience and my son and I had an absolutely excellent time. They could not have been more gracious.

It was a treat to stay at the Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsuhei. Everything is tastefully done. Beautiful hotel, onsen, great dinner and breakfast. If you like hot springs, forget the town's public onsens, and just stay and enjoy it at the onsen.
This was a splurge for me, but so worth it after the hustle and bustle of Osaka. Stay for more than a night to enjoy all that Nishimuraya and Kinosaki has to offer.

It's the further hotel from the train station but they have free shuttle bus. Great service, nice room, great onsen, great kaiseki diner, great breakfast.They provide yukatafor you to walk around in the town.

Also, very good point, hotels.com cannot figure out that a 3 months old baby does not need breakfast. But the hotel is nice enough to refund us the baby's fare without us asking.

This hotel is situated on an amazing piece of property. We loved the view out of our room and the staff treated us like Kings and Queens. The hotel was very nice and we had a great time. The shuttle is prompt and always available. However, the hall ways had a terrible mold/ rotten smell which floated over into the room. We got used to it after about 5 minutes or so, but every time we walked down the hallways to our room we smelled it. I'm thinking it was due to the moldy stained carpets throughout. Also, not knowing the policy of some hotels in Japan, my Expedia account was automatically set to 2 people staying in the room. So I booked the hotel for $460 for 2 nights. When I arrived they happen to notice there were 3 of us. Two adults and 1 child. Apparently, many hotels in Japan require an exact person count when you originally book the room. So when we arrived we had to shell out another $250! This was obviously a huge bummer and ruined the first few hours of our stay. Had it been the original price, I'd say it was a good value for the condition of the Hotel and Onsen. However, being $350 a night, there are much better hotels at a lower price just down the street and closer to town.

チェックアウトの時も、バスタオル類とバッグを貸して頂き、返却も駅の案内所に返却で、とても親切にしていただきました。

素晴らしい宿です。

スタッフの方の対応がとても丁寧な申し分ないホテルでした。施設内は清潔で掃除も行き届いており、外湯巡りには送迎バスもあり、雨の日で、傘の貸し出しやタオルもあり、小さい子どもを抱っこし、バス停乗り場が遠くて困っていると帰りは、止まり乗車させていただけました。行き届いたサービスに大変感謝しております。また是非泊まりたいと思えるホテルでした。

贅沢な時間

チェックイン後、ウエルカムドリンクのサービスがありました。お庭を眺めながらの贅沢な時間。また内湯は清潔で広々としており浴場に隣接してドリンクコーナーまで設置されていました。浴室から脱衣所までの短い距離にバスマットのだけでなく床暖房があり湯上がりに気持ち良かったです。コロナ禍のため宿泊客もすくなく、従業員の方もとても対応が丁寧で本当に快適にすごせました。
城崎なので外湯も楽しみの一つではありますが少し離れた位置にあるため一番近い鴻の湯も600mほど歩きます。ホテルの巡回バスを効率良く利用されることをお勧めします。
お食事もアレルギー対応していただき安心して美味しいお料理を堪能させていただきました。
翌朝の地元野菜などを販売される朝市も一見の価値があります。
機会があればまた宿泊させていただきたいと思える施設でした。
