Theres not enough characters available for this rating. First, the room was advertised at $90 when i booked, but i was charged $128 a night. I wouldve spent the extra $ for a better place. The building is run down and civered in spiders. None of the doors shut properly or securely and I left in the middle of the night after the adjoining room guests ventured into my room while i was sleeping. The AC took 15 minutes to kick in after turning the power on and the lighting was very very poor with only 3 lamps (only 2 working) for that very large room. The sheets had someones hair on them and the pillows were that of dollar store quality and very uncomfortable. The area is loud. The \"mountain view\" is actually good...if you can see through the clouded glass and spider webs.

Not a great experience

The bed is full of springs and uncomfortable and pillows flat it took all 3 to make 1 to sleep on. The shower was slimy and dirty and the water pressure really sucked. The bathroom is a little cramped and the walls had patches and imperfections all over. The a/c did not work that great. The one good thing I liked was the rocking chair outside to sit near room while smoking or drinking but highway noise kept it a little bit from being relaxing.

Front desk was closed and never could check in.

I can’t rate the stay because nobody would ever come to the door to check me in. The reservation was made due to there being a 24 hour service desk and it was closed. I waited 20 minutes in sub freezing temps to see if anyone would come check me in. Attaching photos of closed lobby with the lights off and open sign on. The charge of $73.67 needs to be refunded.

So the good parts included newer carpet, clean beds, easy parking and quiet area. The bad parts: beds weren't comfortable and you could feel the springs coming through and the bathroom just needed an entire gut job. The light was rusted and didnt have a cover plate, the shower curtain was molded and the worst part was the leaking ceiling that kept my friend up all night when it rained. Water was all over the bathroom when we woke up and that was obviously the reason for mold on the ceiling. For the price we paid I wasnt too upset but would def probably stay elsewhere next time.

Dry old. Windows and doors so old there are gaps a snake could crawl through. Very noisy because of traffic and paper thin walls. Got up to shower and didn’t have hot water. Was informed on checkout that the fixtures were upgraded but never tested. Manager decided to argue with me. I wouldn’t stay there again and wouldn’t recommend the property.

I turned the heat on one night and it smelt as if it were going to light on fire. The door had to be slammed to close. The curtains were broken and barely closed.

We were told we would have free continental breakfast. We didn’t and it was still on the web. I called the desk and she was no help. Very rude and said they had coffee and juice. I specifically asked about the breakfast for two in the comments at the time of reservation. We were not advised at any time there was no food.
We didn’t have any cups in the bathroom.

I decided to stay here because it was only 77 dollars a night and only 20 minutes from Cherokee. I probably wouldn’t stay here again. We stayed in room 15. First the pros… refrigerator and microwave. Also no stairs all floors on the ground some with a chair outside you can sit in.

The cons. Well here is just a few..

TV had lines running through it didn’t block vision bad but first time I’ve ever seen that
Towels and wash cloths were white with brown stains.
Light switch was broken fan was noisy and loud.
No free breakfast just free coffee and juice which I didn’t try because bojangles was just right up the road.
Pillows were gross and flat.

In conclusion, I’d stay here again because it was cheap. If it’s just you and a friend that really don’t care as long as it’s cheap… I’d stay here. At 77 a night it was way cheaper than anywhere I saw in Cherokee. However you get what you pay for. I wouldn’t bring my wife here because she booshzie as hell. If you have a wife like that take her to the super 8 in Cherokee.

Great venue and service!

The hotel is located in a peaceful valley surrounded by mountains, and is still close to town. It was very beautiful and peaceful in the morning. The room was surprisingly large too. The staff was friendly and the service was great. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

Nothing like the county police waking you up in the middle of the night banging on the neighbors door and serving them a warrant. Walls are paper thin so it kept us up all night. Beds were pretty uncomfortable. It was clean but very old. I’ve stayed in nicer places for a lot cheaper. And the breakfast was a joke.

I booked a room, went to my room and it wasn't what I had booked. They moved us down 3 rooms which wasn't what we had booked, but at least had a tub. When trying to turn the hot water on nothing happens. Manager came and looked at it, was rude but told me I would get a refund that hasn't happened yet. Save yourself the trouble, and look past this place.

I have to say we were pretty impressed. We needed a cheap hotel close to Cherokee since our usually campground was booked during our last minute trip... It was super clean. It had the coldest AC I have ever had in a hotel.. We always turn it down as low it can go. Let me tell you, I had to turn it back up! Sometimes you can hear some traffic racing up the road since it’s off of a Main Street but wasn’t terrible. Beds were super comfy. There were 3 of us... myself, husband and 16 year old daughter.. they provided and extra tier and washcloth.. not sure about toiletries as we always bring our own anyways... Owners were very friendly and overall was a great stay for what we needed for our 4 nights. Please keep in mind this isn’t a 5 star hotel. Bathroom could use a bit of updating but honestly for the price, you can’t beat it! We will definitely stay here again when we are in town!!

They didn’t give us enough towels, washcloths etc. There were dead bugs on the floor. Maid service didn’t clean our room while we were gone so I had to request more towels and then drive to the office to get them. The phone in the room didn’t work. It was very obvious no one had been in the room in a long time.

quick overnight stay

Overnight trip to mountains to dig gems nearby. Room was larger than most hotels. King bed still had plenty of room around it. It had a desk and one chair. We would have preferred a table with two chairs to eat on. At least another chair would have been nice. Only two bath towels but an extra one would have been nice with my long hair! No hairdryer but that was ok. Hair dried fast in heat! There was no coffee pot to make a cup of coffee. We had a partial roll of toilet paper with no extra roll. Bed was not comfortable to us. It was hard. Also need two pillows each. For what we paid it was ok for overnight stay! It is at corner of two busy roads but was quite! We went down to store right by it and got coffee and breakfast. Two cafes right there for breakfast. Great location and friendly staff.

Outage to upgrade!

Well when we arrived there had been a power outage. Owners were extremely apologetic and accommodating! They went ahead and checked us into our room with hopes of power being back on soon. When they found out power would not be back until the morning and then realized their rooms up on the hill still had power, they moved all of the ones with a room to an upgraded room on the hill. The rooms were super big and very clean. Would definitely stay again!!!!

The room was very clean and roomy. The bathroom had been remodeled but there was no shelf in the shower stall for soap, shampoo, razor, etc.....not a major issue. Overall the room met all our needs. We were there on a motorcycle trip and the staff allowed us to park bikes under the eve of the sidewalk. This was our third stay here and will stay again.

Wife started to take a shower and head broke off. She waited till we got back home to take shower. They said they would open new room for her to take shower but all rooms were cold.

This is a simple property in a good location. It probably can use some updates but it is clean and comfortable. It has few amenities but you know what you are getting. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable place with a good staff then this is a great place to stay. The hotel website states it best - \"Forget about fancy. It is an older motel and very basic but very good price and friendly staff. Check in and check out were simple.We chose the Rodeway Inn because of the price and several comments about it being close to Western Carolina, which is why we were there. On expedia it advertises that it is 15 miles away from Cullowhee but both of the staff members we asked said it was closer 45 miles away, but by using our GPS it ended up being about 24 miles away and taking about 30 minutes.

No,we do not have a dog.

We carried our Son to college for a short visit.The area is beautiful.I knew that the motel was older and on a busy road.It was inexpensive and had everything that we needed.The Housekeeper was kind enough to leave a light on.When we checked in ,we were asked three times if we had a dog.We did,three hundred miles away but No,not with us.Four times we interacted with the office and every time asked if we had a large dog.I became paranoid and checked our Volkswagon-no dog.I asked a hotel worker to come into my room to assure we had no pets.Upon checking out(I can not make this stuff up)the question was asked.Loved the area,take an elephant.

Bed was hard. Not enough pillows. There was dirty, smelly clothes left in the dresser drawer and also in the night stand. A sticky note was left sticking on the wall with someone's telephone number listed on it. The tile in the floor of the shower was broken and missing pieces. Poor housekeeping. On checking out, had to wake desk clerk from his morning nap to check out. Told him about the nasty clothes and all he said was sorry, never made a note to address the problem. Had to ask for a receipt.
Would not recommend staying here.
