We stayed in the cottages, which overlooked the Missouri river and railroad tracks. I enjoyed setting on the deck in the evening watching them. The cottage we stayed in met or exceeded our expectations. We will stay there again. One thing we found out is that most of the restaurants in Herman close on Tuesday and Wednesday so we will not be staying in Hermann on those evenings again. We will come in on Wednesday ( The Tin Mill was open and good on both Tuesday and Wednesday) and leave on Friday. We came into Hermann from the West, so we drove down to Jefferson City from Columbia and the took highway 94 into Hermann, it is a river road and well worth the drive.

The area was quiet/very peaceful. Loved the cottage. It was spaceaious and clean with individualized thermostat control. The multiple fireplaces, steam shower, in room jacuzzi, and deck hot tub were our favorite amenities. Those were the reasons we booked at the Hermann Inn. Snacks and drinks for us to consume during our stay were waiting for us when we arrived. The local people were really nice and friendly. There wasn't a lot to do in the area for entertainment. But its a cute little town to visit if you just want to enjoy nature and visit a few wineries. And many are closed on Mondays. Even a few that list open on Mondays on their website. My only 2 complaints are 1. The protective sheet on the bed had some stains on it. Had to remove the sheet and fitted sheet to see them. This is why I typically take my own sheets when I travel. It appeared it may have been laundered but....and 2. When booking on Expedia the pic of the cottage deck was different than actual property. But I went directly to facility webpage and viewed their pics prior to purchasing. As well as Expedia doesn't state their fee does not include the use of the hot tub, hot gourmet breakfast and welcoming tray. Thankfully the property notified us and we were able to add it on for an additional fee. Also I would recommend checking the prices through both Expedia and the facility and compare prior to booking. ... Overall if you're considering visiting the area Hermann Inn Cottages I highly recommend.

Great location. View from our room was excellent of the Missouri River and sunset. The host was very helpful. The room had everything you may want and was well stocked. I would recommend this cottage to anyone.

What a beautiful place to stay. They provide everything you would need. Please be aware that a lot of restaurants and wineries are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, wish we would have known this when planning our trip.

The hot tub had grime and paint chips. Almost every wall had huge gaps in the corners. I think the suite we stayed in was private and probably really cool back in 2003 when it was last updated. I think for $400 a night I should be getting more than a nice view and a burnt cookie.

Beautiful drive up and property. Greetings from Allie was fun and professional. She was there for everything we needed. The suite is beautiful, the fireplace was on, and the view is amazing. I definitely recommend a getaway here.

Beautiful room with a fireplace, comfy bed, and balcony over-looking the vineyard and lovely town of Hermann. They deliver warm cookies and ice cream every evening! They had brats and frozen margaritas in the evening. If you want a full breakfast, though, you have to pay extra...we did not know that until we arrived. All in all, a beautiful place and I would love to stay there again!

Really extraordinary in design layout, features, and thoughtful add-ons. Beautiful view, see-through fireplace, steam shower, well equipped kitchen, comfy bed, etc. Have stayed at many fine hotels and condos -- never seen one this well equipped. The train tracks run below at the base of the cliff, but limited noise gets up to the room. Try the little fireplace/therapy fireplace next to the whirlpool tub. Robes, phone by the toilet, you name it. The town is nice, too!

Unbelievable, Fantastic, Friendly/Helpful Staff. Beautiful Inn, setting, scrumptous food,-fun cheese/bread/wine welcome tray, chocolate muffins ice cream goodnight treat. Awesome weekend getaway!!!!

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at Hermann Hill. We've been at the main Inn and just recently stayed in one of the cottages These people know how to pamper their guests. We will not hesitate to make this an annual getaway spot to reconnect and get away from it all. Well worth the money!!

It was Great!!

We stayed in the cottages. They thought of everything!! Our cottage was overlooking the river and train tracks, it was beautiful, and I actually enjoyed hearing the trains go by. They didn't run at night. We would definitely go back!!

I brought my girlfriend here to celebrate her birthday and was thoroughly impressed! The staff worked hard to make us comfortable from the moment we arrived with appetizers and cocktails, then showed us to our room. Other than the great service and beautiful rooms, the thing that most stood out to us is the attention to detail that Hermann Hill has. If it was something you might forget, chances are that they have thought of it! I had never been to a bed and breakfast before, but we even reserved a room for next year!

Our Favorite Getaway

My husband and I love Hemann Hill! We have stayed at the Inn and in the Cottages and we love both experiences. The rooms are fantastic and we love their attention to every detail to make the stay perfect. The welcome tray is a wonderful treat upon arrival and the breakfast is amazing!! Hermann Hill is a great place for my husband and I to get away for a weekend.

Couples Getaway

We needed a couples getaway but not too far from our children just in case! After doing some research I came across Hermann. I thought that would be a perfect getaway for us! When I came across Hermann Hill I knew immediately we needed to stay in a cottage for some couple time!! Best decision we made!! I had high expectations from reading other reviews and when we walked through the cottage door every expectation I had was met!! The room was amazing! We stayed 3 nights. When we arrived the first day we had a relaxing evening of sipping wine and dinner at the Cottage (which was amazing!) The next day we took on the Hermann Hill 3 mile walk, toured a few wineries (Stone Hill, Adam Puchta, and Oak Glenn), had lunch at Stone Hill (which was also amazing), enjoyed the Tin Mill Beers, and stopped in at the German Wurst Haus for some amazing bratwurst to cook at the cottage that evening! The next day we continued touring local wineries opening up our taste buds to wines we never would have thought to like. We had a great time! We also realized that as a couple we need to spend more time together and staying at Hermann Hill in one of their cottages definitely allowed us the couple time that we desperately needed with complete privacy and outstanding amenities! We are already planning our next trip to Hermann for one of the wine trails and will again be staying at Hermann Hill in one of their magnificent cottages (hopefully the same as our first visit.) Thank you Hermann Hill for an outstanding stay and the couple time that we needed!

Almost Perfection

I loved everything about the cottage where I stayed for two days this November. The rooms are beautiful, the view of the river is lovely, the massage I had at the Inn was to die for, and the goodies in the fridge were the best I've ever eaten. I have only one, fairly large, complaint: The hot water runs out so fast I could only fill my jacuzzi tub about 6 inches deep. I asked about the hot water and was told it isn't legal to make the water any hotter (than tepid). All I can say is: Those huge, deep tubs were a big mistake.

Anniversary get away from our wonderful children we are blessed

Thank you so much for a wonderful week end , it was amazing. We both felt so pampered the spa, bringing our breakfast to our room, the jacuzzi tub was awesome! it was so great to be waited on. Gods beauty surrounds your place, the view, the sunrise was absolutely breathtaking. Everyone was so delightful and sweet and how special how we were greeted when we arrived.
