I felt like my room was a little small and dark, but the bed is pretty comfortable. There are in-room wifi so I was able to work in my room at night which was super nice. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful...my taxi was late and the security guard pulled up his chair for me to sit down by the door and wait. Also, the restaurant has really good pasta. The pizza was just okay, but I had the gnocchi with prawns...it was delicious!

Hidden Zanzibar Gem

I had a great stay at Sahari Zanzibar. The beautiful pool and gardens feels like Bali. The rooms are comforable and the sound of the ovean every night was a beaitful plus. I enjoyed wood stove pizzas and friendly and accomadating staff. The owners are lovely people. This place has a cool luxurious vibe to it. It is a true gem.

Excellent location and comfortable rooms which have \"shabby chic\" decor. This means a bit tatty finish but big comfortable room with great ac.
Staff in restaurant particularly good. We arrived at 10.20pm and was a bit disappointed that check-in guy (Soulaman?) was unable to get us a drink from the bar! Didn't expect food but surely a drink could be found.
Hotel is not too big and perfectly located for a totally relaxing stay. Would suggest a walk up the beach to Paradise Beach Resort where beer is much cheaper.

we had a great time at Sahari. the room was a bit tight as we were 3 but we enjoyed all the hotel's lounges and shades. i would have liked more airing for the shower. all in all it was a great stay, food was also tasty and the pool was pure heaven for our daughter. also, the tour options that were offered by other agents at the hotel was very good for us and we used it daily.

The hotel delivered what it promised: a peaceful atmosphere, good food (lovely breakfast included); good internet connectivity; ocean front ; other food in restaurant is ordered from menu. The menu was diverse and food tasty; good portions. This is important because there is nothing else around within walking distance. Taxi deals can be negotiated with staff assistance; reliable airport transportation can be had for US30 instead of the posted US55 at airport.

I don't usually rate hotels as I don't think theyre anything special. But the sahari is a good find and I really enjoyed my stay there. For context I was on a business trip and taking 2 days off there to relax.
The staff is uber friendly and the premises are very nice, right on the beach, the pool is amazing, the rooms are outstanding. There are excursions organized from the hotel.
The food is also quite good, especially the catch of the day as there is a lot of fishing going on around.

Beautiful beach front hotel with wonderful staff

We loved our holiday here. The hotel was clean and had a lovely private pool. Plenty of sun loungers to while away the day and plenty of activities to choose from; swimming, snorkelling, fishing, sailing. The restaurant serves delicious seafood, sushi and pizzas too!

The hotel has everything to be fantastic: good infrastructure, just next to a nice beach, good pool, restaurant, etc. But, ends don't seem to meet. During my stay there I was under the impression that the owner of manager were away and that the staff was a bit at a loss.
Definite improvements the hotel needs is to add A/C to the rooms and have the kitchen moved further from the pool.

Amazing hotel!

stayed here for 3 nights and didnt wanted to leave. The hotel is very cozy and well decorated with a nice swimming pool right in the middle of the complex. Food is great and with good prices and the rooms are awesome! Its also located right in the beach which is so beautiful. The only downside is that its the low tide makes it impossible for you to swim in the ocean during most of the day. Highly recommended!

Lovely hotel, staff were very friendly and allowed us to check in early.

Very close to a beautiful beach and the swimming pool was adequate.

The restaurant was on the pricey side but the pizzas were the best pizzas I've tasted in Tanzania!!

after check out staff were very accommodating and allowed us to use a shower in a room after we had been snorkelling.

Overall - a great hotel.

Relaxing, great food, excellent staff.

Thoroughly enjoyed this hotel, excellent staff and food. No air but the front desk were kind enough to loan us a large floor fan. The beach isn't good for swimming which is why I didn't rate it higher overall, you need water shoes to the explore. But a 20 minute walk down to Paje for good swimming. We knew all of this prior to departure. The hotel pool is lovely with lots of beautiful small areas around the hotel with comfy swings, lounges and beds all set in beautiful surroundings. Andrew, Hadj, and Othman in the restaurant absolutely made our holiday!!!! So attentive and little extras that meant so much to us. If you want a relaxing holiday this is the place, the new Manager Alex is terrific. No room safety deposit box but management is great about leaving passports, money etc in office safe. We would recommend for a lovely quiet relaxed holiday.

Great place to stay

We stayed 5 days at Sahari. The entire setup of the hotel is very charming, with a beautiful main building, pool area and open space dining area in front of the beach. From what we've seen one of the prettiest hotels in bwejuu and paje given the price. Great value for money. They don't have a lot of rooms so it really feels like a boutique hotel and you soon know all the staff and easily get to speak to the other hotel guests, which we really liked. Also the staff and manager have been really nice and helpful. Breakfast was perfect for the time being but might get a bit monotone if you stay longer. It's generally takes a while until the food arrives but that's actually a general Zanzibar phenomena. In bwejuu itself nothing is happening, but it's only a 25min walk down the beach to paje. And one might actually enjoy the quietness compared to paje were there are much more people in the resorts and at the beach. For the 5 days we definitely had enough little activities and attractions that we could reach within a 30 minute walk or drive.
Really the only downside was that our first night, December 31st, we were checked into an empty house next to the actual hotel. Rooms were absolutely simple and only a shared bathroom on the floor. And the staff didn't even try to explain or feel sorry for what was happening. I guess they wanted to maximise the high season days but this is absolutely not acceptable. Luckily we could shift the next day so it was quickly forgotten.

We stayed at Sahari after 6 weeks of volunteer work in Tanzania and it was absolutely amazing! The food was so good and our room was just next to the pool. The hotel is beautiful and I would definitely recommend it to my family and friends. The only downside is that the beach is not good for going swimming because of the tide.. But the pool mostly makes up for that!

very relaxed short stay. the hotel has direct access to the beach with a very nice view, but it's not really suitable for swimming due to low tides. this also means you might see all sorts of junk on washed up on the beach, but that's not the hotel's fault of course!

the restaurant serves great food and its waiter, andrew, was the friendliest staff member of the entire place. breakfast is served on order and not as elaborate as some breakfast buffets out there, but a nice touch to have eggs made to your liking and served to you at the table. very laid back vibe in the evenings.

the hotel itself feels more like staying at a big private villa, rather than a hotel. no tvs or aircon in rooms, but you do hear the ocean in the background and feel the breeze, so if you go with the right mindset, that won't be a problem.

Hakuna Matata, what a wonderful place.

The Sahari Hotel really afforded us a wonderful relaxing break. We found the island, lay back atmosphere afforded us a warm and homely stay. This was made even better by the warm and friendly staff. The ambiance and setting of the hotel is perfect for an island holiday break. The surrounding beach and environment really make for a picture perfect break.

The food served was excellent and we highly recommend the Safari Blue Island Tour.

Super chill hotel on a secluded beach. Helpful staff and nice breakfast. Rooms are quiet, clean and comfortable. Be aware that there isn't much around so you'll have to go to the next beach in paje for restaurants or kitesurfing. I found that beach to be prettier and enjoyed my stay at sahari but would have probably preferred to stay closer to the action. Tony was very helpful for getting around on his Vespa! I also enjoyed the excellent and cheap massages!

Best place to relax!

A best place to relax and enjoying the quiet white sandy beach. It’s a very nice hotel, beautiful architecture, very clean, good food and friendly people. The staff and owner they are very accommodating, we got a room on the ground floor when arrived and asked if we can move to upstairs. Luckily, someone checked out in the evening and immediately they cleaned and prepared the room for us. The staff helped us to arrange taxi to Stonetown at reasonable price $35. Several restaurants are also available at nearby hotels just in case. Happy to come back for sure!

Sahara är ett vackert afrikanskt litet hotel med 17 rum .
Lite enkla rum med skön säng där ett visst behov av renovering finns . Ligger fint vid beachen som ger möjligheter till långa promenader åt båda hållen. Restaurangen var trevlig och personalen underbar men olidligt långa väntetider stundtals på mat trots väldigt få gäster , ingen riktig styrning av det hela vilket drar ner intrycket en aning. Däremot mycket god mat och alltid glatt och vänligt bemötande. Massagen var ok men lite dålig koll på tider och kommunikation mellan bokare och utförare.

Nice and clean hotel on the beach in a quiet area. Very nice pool area. I would recommend the hotel to couples. It’s not a place for children. Free water was really great. The WiFi was good. Ac did not work as well as hoped due to the power outages. I would stay here again if I came back to Zanzibar.

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt im Sahari rundum genossen. Es ist ein wirklich traumhafter Ort um abzuschalten und die Ruhe zu genießen. Das Personal ist überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Zimmer sind geräumig, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und in gutem Zustand. Sehr gut gefallen hat uns auch, dass auf den Zimmern sämtliche Steckdosen ohne Adapter benutzt werden konnten. Lediglich das Essen im Restaurant bietet kein angemessenes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Es genügt den Ansprüchen, sticht aber nicht hervor.

Mysigt och fint hotell med trevlig personal och Nice poolområde. Är inte bästa stället att bada i havet på då det krävs badskor. Det tråkiga med hotellet är att det ligger långt ifrån allting annat och tar ca 1h att gå på stranden (el 10 min taxi ) in till Paje där den stranden man kan bada på ligger samt små butiker och härliga kaféer och restauranger. Om hotellet hade legat mitt på Paje hade det fått högsta betyg men nu blev det lite off för oss som inte bara villa äta och hänga på samma hotell hela tiden. Väldigt mycket svenskar på hotellet.

Equipe gentilissima e pronta a farti sentire a casa, ottimo il servizio ristorazione (colazione eccellente e personale simpaticissimo) ed immensamente di aiuto i ragazzi della Reception Suleiman e Khadija, due persone d'oro in grado di soddisfare ogni richiesta, dalle semplici indicazioni a servizi transfer e taxi ma anche per scambiare due chiacchiere piacevoli :) Grazie dell'accoglienza e per il soggiorno \"hakuna matata\", a presto!

Bellissima struttura, gestita magnificamente da Riccardo, attento padrone di casa.
Ha saputo creare un'atmosfera magica e suggestiva. Al Sahari non manca niente! Camere arredate con gusto, giardino, piscina e ristorante dove gustare una colazione strepitosa e cenare benissimo ! This hotel is magic!

We had a wonderful stay at Sahari. Came here after a safari and it was the perfect place to unwind and relax. The hotel is very cosy and you will find all the things you need here including a restaurant that serves excellent Italian food - try the pizzas! We dined on the beach with our feet in the sand while watching the sunset which was very romantic.
The rooms are nice, pretty and clean with a little balcony facing the ocean. The staff were very nice and the owner is a great host.
The walk down to Paje is about 30 min along the beach where you can wind-surf and find other restaurants and bars. I will come back on my next visit to Zanzibar.

Our stay was excellent without problems. We had a beautiful and clean room. The pool an restaurant/bar is very close to the beautiful beach.
There are not so many beds in this hotel so you will have a good rest with silence and privacy.
In the menu you will not miss anything and the food is delicius. Especially the pizza is superb.

Mycket trevligt hotell med härligt läge precis på stranden. Personalen är vänlig och trevlig, rummet och området är fint. Vi var där under lågsäsong, vilket innebar få gäster men vi blev omhändertagna rejält ändå. Servicen i restaurangen var lite långsam men frukosten var rejäl och god. Maten överlag var okej, fick en gång parmesan som var möglig...men förutom det var restaurangen bra.
Rummet var trevligt inrett, dock kändes sängkläderna lite sunkiga. Hotellområdet med lounge area, pool etc. var väldigt trevligt. Wifi var mycket bra och snabbt, gick att nå över hela hotellområdet, även på stranden.
Om jag återvänder till Zanzibar kommer jag garanterat bo på Sahari igen.

We had such a wonderful stay at Zahari Sansibar. The stuff was very friendly and the food super good. We would stay there again at any time.

Second stay there because it was a famous quiet place. Small hotel and the right place to relax. Only one step away from local village to meet locals. Manager John asks very often if all was allright, very nice man. Suleiman from the reception helps also with everything like transfer and anything else.

Siamo stati al Sahari Zanzibar dal 21/2 al 28/2.
È una struttura meravigliosa gestita dal gentilissimo Riccardo ,sempre disponibile per qualsiasi cosa. La cucina è ottima. Il paesaggio mozzafiato! Sono riuscito a fare kitesurf esattamente davanti all’hotel.
Non vediamo l’ora di tornare a Zanzibar!

Service catastrophique. La piscine un vrai plus

La piscine est belle, il y a une multitude de petits coins pour se reposer autour, ça c'est le point fort.
Le service au restaurant est catastrophique, des heures d'attente pour manger, que ce soit pour le petit déjeuner le déjeuner ou le dîner. Les employés manquent de formation, en plus d’être lent , il y a toujours une erreur sur les commandes, un vrai désastre. Nous avons eu l'impression de passer notre temps à table, ça nous à gâcher un peu notre séjour dans cet hôtel.
Les prix des plats et boissons sont excessifs pour Zanzibar, vous trouverez une multitude de restaurant ou les prix sont bien moins chers.
Ne comptez pas sur la plage de l’hôtel pour vous baigner, Quand elle est là, l'eau est salle, pleine d'algues et malheureusement avec la marée, l'Ocean se retire complètement contrairement à Paje, Nungwi ou Kendwa ou vous pouvez vous baigner dans des eaux cristallines toute la journée.
Nous avions une chambre en rdc, odeur de gazole dans la salle de bain, de la rouille sur les murs de la douche, le toilette fuyait, nous avions de l'eau usée qui ruisselait sur le sol de la SDB.
Le ménage quant à lui était fait tout les jours , et les chambres était désinsectisées tous les soirs.

velmi příjemné místo pro rodinnou dovolenou

Pokoje super, vybavené, čisté, akorát malé. Koupelna malá, málo tekla voda a byl cítit WC. Personál velmi milý, ochotný, občas lehce zmatený (po africku). Drobné zpropitné obsluze v restauraci pomohlo rychle lepšit kvalitu služeb. Výborná italská kuchyně (majitel nebo provozovatel je Ital). Občas (asi 2-3x během týdenního pobytu) nešla několik hodin elektřina v celé oblasti - tím pádem žádná wifi a teplé pivo :-)

A ridosso della Jungla, senza essere un resort a cinque stelle, il Sahari è una scelta perfetta per una famiglia che voglia confort senza inutili eccessi in terra d'Africa, a diretto contatto con la realtà locale. Cortesia e gentilezza da parte di tutto lo staff, disponibilità genuina e sorrisi, uniti a professionalità concreta che ci ha premesso di trascorrere una decina di giorni splendidi ci fanno dire GRAZIE SAHARI!

Accueil chaleureux, personnel attentionné. Le restaurant propose une carte sympathique et savoureuse.
Il y a une petite masseuse très sympathique avec des doigts de fées.
Le seul point noir est que j'ai trouvé la literie horrible. En 2 semaines, je n'ai pas réussi à dormir une seule nuit entière, bien qu'ils nous ait changé la literie.

Your corner of paradise

Sahari was the perfect place for a week of rest, relax, and base to enjoy a few tour around Zanzibar Island.

Sahari is highly organized, communication before the trip and organisation of transportation from / to airport on time.

All people working there are nice, kind and helpful, from the check-in to our last night and checkout.

Rooms are clean (and cleaned every day), restaurant menu is ample and quality of food impeccable from Italian to English breakfast / kitchen, even sushi, and most important, local food.

All of this together with a blindly white beach, not crowded and crystal clear sea. And if you're really really lazy, a swimming pool inside is there for you.

Also, massage, and small but professional beauty center and tatoo studio.

We would like to thank Riccardo and all his staff for the amazing week

Fantastico!

L'hotel si trova direttamente sulla bellissima ed infinita spiaggia di Bwejuu. Pulitissimo, personale eccellente e molto cordiale, pronto a soddisfare ogni richiesta. Se si vuole vivere appieno la vera vita di Zanzibar, lontana dai chiassosi ed affollatissimi resort questo è il posto migliore in assoluto. Lo consiglio e spero di poterci tornare.
