What an experience. One of the more quieter and nicer all inclusive resorts on Zanzabar. 1/2 board though, but breakfast and dinner were ample buffets. Lots of local dishes and for such a remote place, much of the food is locally sourced. Fruit at breakfast and desserts made with local ingredients are standouts. Different themed buffets at dinner nightly. Lunch was always snacks at the beach which included a top notch chicken tikka tandoori and nan.

Would highly recommend as staff was always eager to please.

Ocean breezes at a great resort

After 4 weeks of safaris in 3 countries we wanted a place to replace before our long flight home. Mission accomplished. The breeze at the edge of the beach was wonderful. We had great AC and the staff was friendly and accommodated my wife’s allergies very well we can’t say enough good things.

A solid all rounder with a lovely beach view. Service excellent but needs updating and upgrading in parts - especially as regards in room facilities and gym - to be a true 5* hotel. Staff lovely though and it’s a well oiled machine in terms of its half board food options.

Breezes Beach Club is an amazing small sized resort (there are probably 60 odd rooms but it doesn't give you this impression) where together with my family spent 8 wonderful days.

I'll start off by saying that the resort is extremely clean in all public spaces, the flora is nicely maintained every day, it's a closed resort so you don't have to be concerned being secure (although in my mind it's not necessary), it has a clean beach, security on the beach as well as you will encounter local people selling stuff (they are the same every day. they are friendly but sometimes can be persistent).

The resort has most facilities that you would expect (spa and gym - haven't used), a diving centre, a water sports centre, plenty of bars, a TV room and library etc. Why a TV room? Well, it's because they don't have TVs in rooms.

The wifi is really good and you can access it from anywhere within the resort, even on the beach.

The room is standard but will lots of storage space, nice features such as a baldachin to protect against mosquitos. We had a lovely room with sea view and it was amazing. You also have subject to the room, a nice outdoor space with a table and chairs.

The food was absolutely amazing. And I'm a picky eater. There was a combination of 4 nights buffet and 3 nights with a set menu which was perfect. The set menus at least, you could tell that they have well prepared chefs or actually employ international ones.

A kids club would be something good to have in future.

Had a great time at Breezes. The staff and food was the best part of the stay (not buffet style). Room was nice, fairly roomy and had the standard amenities. Comes with bottled water replenished once per day but might need more depending on your consumption/activity that day. Only downside is it's an hour from Stone Town. But there are enough activities locally to spend time on...or you can just relax and hangout. half board (breakfast and dinner) was enough to keep us fed for the day. They also accommodated dietary needs, adjusting ingredients as needed. Did gluten free well (spouse has severe allergy), no ill effects so they did well.

Wow - we had such a perfect stay. For starters, the hotel is GORGEOUS from the lobby to the restaurants to the rooms. Food was in general very very good. Great pool, beautiful beach and very nice rooms. Evening activities were fun and allowed the guests to interact with each other and the staff. But by far the most amazing thing about the hotel were the staff. Service was beyond amazing and every one was so friendly - anticipating your every need and want. Quite possibly the best service I have encountered at any hotel in the world. Special shout out to Cha, Dorah, Lucas, Omar and Issa. We had a wonderful stay and this hotel is extremely recommended.

We spent two nights at the hotel for a birthday treat. The hotel and staff were great and food was excellent. The beach is beautiful and the pool was very clean. We had a very good sized room. The AC worked very well as did the internet. No hesitation in recommending the hotel. We had a complimentary spa treatment which was excellent.

Peaceful haven on a beautiful quiet beach

Every experience was excellent at this resort.
The staff was welcoming, helpful and kind from arrival to departure.
The waiters are all very attentive and friendly.
The meals/food is outstanding.
The housekeeper for each block of rooms is also very attentive and helpful.
The rooms are quiet, peaceful and beautifully decorated. Comfortable bed and couch. Even the rooms without a sea view have beautiful garden views and every room has an outdoor porch with table and chairs.
The pool and beach lounge areas are spacious and beautifully kept. And the beach directly in front of the resort is pristine and beautiful. Beatiful and uncrowned for sunrise and evening walks.
It is family friendly, lots of kids. But the space is so big that noise was never loud or overwhelming.
This was a beautiful and calm paradise on the beach that I would highly recommend and hope to return to one day.

Stunning beach resort with very clean and comfortable rooms. Staff were very friendly and the food was also amazing. We really liked the facilities on the beach which meant there was always something fun to do (reef walk, snorkelling, wind/kitesurfing and there is also the possibility to do scuba diving courses). The staff was extremely attentive and always trying to accommodate. Thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable holiday destination and would definitely recommend any couple to do the same.

First class treatment from the moment you arriive to when you leave. Very friendly and personable staff in all areas.

The food is excellent. We went half board and then ordered a flatbread beach side in the afternoon to tide us over to dinner. Dinner alternates between do down and buffet with different themes for the buffet.

Evening entertainment changes each night.

Nice pool and beach. Not crowded.

Rooms are spacious and well serviced. Free big bottle of water.
Nice deck to sit out on.

If there is something you need, just ask.

What a fabulous place!

This was a few days away after doing some fairly demanding charity work in the Maasai Mara. The hotel was recommended by some friends and it did not disappoint. We arrived late but the Assistant Manager was there to greet us and there was a light meal in our room. There were several similar nice touches during our stay and all of the staff went out of their way to make your stay as perfect as they possibly could. Particular praise goes to those we interacted with most (Assi who took us on the reef walk, Anna who serviced our room, Juno who gave out the beach towels, Fatima who served most of our meals). The location was near faultless and the facilities well maintained. I have to admit to not being a fan of buffet style meals for anything other than breakfast but on the days when this was the case for the evening meal (they alternate between the two styles) I was astounded by the quality and choice of the food. I am diabetic but rarely had to make any special requests, such was the quality of the food. On the two occasions I did they were accepted and the resulting dish produced in a manner that far exceeded my expectations. The drinks prices, considering they have a captive audience, were reasonable, as were the midday snacks. Finally, I would like to thank Romi for making our stay even more relaxing - her suggestions as to how to maximise our time at the resort and minimise travelling while still seeing the sights were invaluable.
Go there! You won't be disappointed!

A little piece of paradise

A beautiful white sandy beach and well maintained hotel is the core of this lush resort. Supported by a very friendly staff and competent management guarantees a great experience. The food is excellent and if you have a chance, try the private dinner setting at the beach with your very own server. Finally the Sultan \"s bath and couples massage is the ultimate experience . On a lighter note, request a mattress topper at check in, unless you like it firm .
Beds are hard as a rock but otherwise very comfortable and covered by Mosquito netting for a peaceful sleep.

our experience was very good The beach is very nice, you can walk kilometres along the beach (be aware! do not carry anything with you. our bag was stolen while we were swimming, far from the hotel beach) but the beach just in front of the hotel is safe. you can do the snorkelling in front of the hotel. The staff is very kind and smiley. The food was good. There are some guests entertainments as well, such as swahili dance after dinner. The hotel manager is always around. The palm and Baraza hotels are just next door. Some of the rooms do mot have flyscreens, which is not pleasant. The rooms numbered 60+ are a bit far from the beach.

Best vacation ever!

Had a magical stay at Breezes Zanzibar. It is paradise on earth. The resort is top notch. The service is 6 starts if possible. They (management) called us on the ride to the resort at 10:30pm asking my wife and I what dinner we would like, served to us in our room. When we left at 2am they packed us 2 breakfasts for the trip. The level of detail and what they do is unparalleled.

Beautiful, quiet location on Zanzibar

Breezes is beautiful facility - you are isolated so if you are looking for nightlife, this isn't the place. However, I travelled solo (I'm in my early 50s but don't need the 'clubbing scene') and this is more for families and couples - think I was probably the only single person there, but it was just a two night stay. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I didn't use any of the water sports but understand they are quite good. Spa is very nice. Small fitness center but limited hours. Unfortunately early Feb is prone to lots of seaweed, and there definitely was so didn't see the beautiful blue waters clearly.

this place was more like a \"filler-booking\" to complete our stays in chumbe and nungwi beach. but it turned out to be the best. reasonable rates, professional but hearty staff, facilities without issue. swimming was ok at medium / high tide. at low tide interesting walk with \"ali the fisherman\" :). hired a fisherboat to blue lagoon, nicest coral garden we have seen in indian ocean ( we liked it more than chumbe). but what a sunburn we got ... beware...
for south africans: quite nice to reach with direct flight from joburg

Attractive hotel but poor atmosphere

Attractive buildings on nice beach, good food and drinks but slightly surly staff and absolutely everything down to a bottle of water was only available at over priced extra cost. Ongoing maintenance works also meant our stay was set to the sounds of a buzz saw at frequent intervals throughout the day.

Their policy is, total relaxation for guests, so no tv, phone or internet service available in rooms. I still didn't figure how to get room service. Otherwise it is an excellent place, and would recommend it to others.

Magnifique hôtel

Magnifique séjour.
Seconde fois à Zanzibar et je n’ai pas été déçue. L’hôtel est magnifique au sein d’un jardin sublime, la plage est propre et calme. Les repas préparé avec soin, la propreté des lieux est impeccable, les chambres spacieuses. En prime une équipe très bienveillante , des femmes de chambre au manager de l’hôtel! Je recommande vivement.

Wunderschöne Hotelanlage am traumhaften Strand.
Es wird auf Allergien geachtet und alles darauf angepasst. Sensationell!
Das Bett war zuerst zu hart, das Problem wurde direkt behoben. Duschgel und Shampoo vorhanden. Strandhandtücher und Liegen ausreichend vorhanden.
Kein Fernseher.
Alle Strohhalme sind schon aus Pappe.
Der Crosstrainer im Gym war kaputt. Schien jedenfalls keinen zu stören, weil vielleicht keiner ins Gym geht.
