It’s cute. We got a small room with double beds. The beds are very soft and wobbly and not sure if the sheets and blankets were washed properly there was hair on them . We expected the noise outside til very late . Shower bathroom not very clean . Had hair and mold around the edges . Staff was nice and helpful. Probably wont be going back .

This was our second time at the Dauphine. It has a great location. The rooms are efficient and clean. Both times our rooms have featured large showers with great water pressure. Parking is convenient. Staff is responsive. I was disappointed that the ice machine in our area of the hotel was broken, and I had to cross the street to the main hotel for ice. The pool pump failed during our visit, and the hotel arranged access to a pool at a sister property so we could continue to party. Very much recommend.

The staff was amazing. Extremely helpful, prompt, and just a pleasure to speak to. My issues lay with the property itself. I had initially booked somewhere else but my initial reservation fell through, so I shifted my reservation to this hotel. Originally, I had only chose this one because of the pool. It was my son's first trip and my mother and I wanted to take him swimming. Unfortunately it was closed the entire time we were there. Not sure why. But it dampened our spirits a bit since the whole purpose for this decision was for that specific reason. Then, during our first night it became apparent the AC didn't work and hadn't worked in a while. Granted, the woman at the front desk moved us promptly so this is not an indication on her services; she was wonderful. My issues lay with whomever updates their staff and customers. They should really notify both of what does and does not work, ensuring their guests aren't wasting their money. Anyway ... The hotel staff is amazing. The parking is pricey but the valets are kind and eager. The location is great for walking around the French quarter. But ultimately, I would advise against this hotel if you have kids.

First, the room is super small & dark! When looking at pictures it looks spacious/open & bright. That’s a lie! The ENTIRE hotel is HOTTTT we had thermostat in room set on 60, still HOT AS HELL! Even the hallway, & elevator so small, dark & suffocating! No ventilation in there. Tub & sink SUPER SLOW TO DRAIN! Damn near taking a bath & shower at the same time. “Onsite parking” is valet parking $50 per vehicle. Horrible experience with this hotel. Will never recommend or stay again

This is an older hotel which we knew when booking. But, there was visible water damage inside, the air vents were black in one of the 2 rooms we had. The pool was not like pictured. It looked dark and dingy.

The location is great! Walkable and easy to find. If you’re looking for a fancy hotel experience this is not your hotel.

If you’re looking for a place to lay your head for a night of 2 with no driving to see the French quarter sights, book now!

We do “staycations” a lot in Nola and live staying here. Really enjoy the history of this place as well as the old school feel. Staff has always been friendly and very helpful, when needed. We always recommend this hotel to family and friends alike. Two thumbs up Dauphine Orleans!!!

Stayed for 5 nights at the Dauphine and it was nice! Close to Bourbon St. without it being too close that we could hear a lot of noise. The bed was very comfortable and clean and we had a TV in the room. Front desk staff were always very nice and greeted us every time we came in/went out even when we came back late from the bars. The only thing we’d comment on is the lack of housekeeping. We only had our bed made/bathroom cleaned and restocked 1 day out of the 5, and the one day we did we felt bad because the housekeeper told us she was the only one working (there’s 4 floors of rooms). Pool was a nice amenity, but overall pretty basic hotel & I would recommend for shorter stays than ours.

Arrived to find the hotel had zero parking available. It was raining so this was pretty inconvenient, but we just went a few blocks down and got parking in a garage, cost for one night was $50. Walk into the reception area and the one staff member was incredibly slow. Couldn’t manage her tasks without getting distracted. I was there for less than 24 hours so I wanted to hit the ground running.. anyway waited my turn after many different obstacles to find out the 3 travelers I was with were told they only had a king available even though my booking and her printout plainly said I booked a double. Now what? She couldn’t figure out anyway to accommodate us even thought I have never in all my life of travel been told “we don’t guarantee room types”. Ummmm yes hotels do. So.. I took my money a block over to just get out of the ridiculous mess this hotel was causing me. Great trip after that. Do not stay here! Too many other choices in the city!

The first debacle was the parking. We were told there were no places at the hotel. One person told us they had deals with other hotels for parking and another person told us we needed to park in a public lot. The public lot we were sent to 3 blocks away charged $100 a night for a non-preferred spot. We decided to park for an hour so we could check-in and solve the parking problem later.

Checking in however took the whole hour. Two employees were working but the lobby was backed up with a line of guests. We waited for our turn but each guest checking in took at least 10 minutes. When we finally got to the desk, even though they already had our payment information it took forever to get any kind of communication. They gave us 2 keys and sent us to our room. They told us to wait until 5 pm when the workers left to try and park. We might get lucky enough to get a space.

We went up to our room and neither of our key cards worked. We went back down, waited in line again (there was only one worker at this point), and were told that they would reprocess the keys but if we still couldn't unlock the door we would have to wait for an engineer.

When the keys didn't work, of course, we chose to leave. They still charged us 100 dollars. Because it took so long, we had to buy an extra hour of public parking. Thankfully we found a better hotel just outside the quarter. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL.

It was nice having the valet so close and convenient but we did feel bad a couple times when we had to leave 3 times in one day but the parking staff was always so friendly and they didn’t seem bothered at all. The property is pretty old but it’s expected with the history of these buildings. It was a nice place and close enough to bourbon that we could walk there but not too close where we had to hear the noise all night.

Cons: computer system was completely down when I arrived with no back up plan, so I was just turned away from checking in and told to come back later. Phone in room was broken. Zero dial tone. Our room wasn't ready till after check in time. Parking was great and felt car was safe. No help with luggage and no elevator to our upstairs room. Some renovations were taking place in one area. The bar was ok but the breakfast for what you could get should have been included as it was chain hotel quality. Only sweetened cream for coffee so couldn’t use due to health issues.

Room was so old and poorly kept there was a one inch gap in a window pane that allowed outside air inside and room had a hard time cooling off. Bed frame broken. Ice machine broken. Tv fuzzy and remote broken. Hotel phone was crackly. And worst of all these issues were brought to the attention of front desk four times in four days. Linens dirty. Carpet dirty. Missing light bulbs. AVOID AVOID! I emailed the manager and have not yet heard back from them. No offer to comp some of the stay. Never again. I’ll pay a few more bucks to get a better room and more responsive staff.

Originally we got a room without any windows, I don’t even know how thats possible and after a quick chat with the staff they changed us to a gorgeous room on the fourth floor with views all around. The location of the hotel is superb, within walking distance of Jackson square (10 minute walk), and Bourbon street (2 minute walk). If you’re trying to explore the French quarters only, then this is the spot, far enough so the noise is minimal, but close enough that you can get anywhere by just walking. In fact driving is a nightmare in French quarters, by walking you get to enjoy the beautiful streets and views. Hotel pool is quite intimate and in a small but cute courtyard. The only issue is that the water pressure was lowkey horrible when taking a shower. I would for sure stay here again though!

It has multiple courtyards, private balconies and a great little bar, giving it that old N'Orleans charm. Staff very friendly and helpful, just ask for Hope - she will take of everything! Buildings are old in the Quarter so some allowance is given for smells or facility conditions.
We discovered our bathroom sink drained very slowly, so we told the front desk on our way out for a walk, when we came back it was fixed.

All of the staff we talked to were very helpful and courteous.

The onsite valet parking was great and convenient. We were able to access our vehicle at any time.

You will be staying at a cheap motel like room with no AC, dirty sheets and blood stained beds! Don’t forget, you can’t refrigerate or heat up food because you won’t have those in your room either.

This hotel has seen better days and is in desperate need of a major renovation. The bathrooms are tiny and left much to be desired. The carpets are extremely dirty and in need of replacement. The staff were friendly and helpful, though. The last time I stayed in this hotel was June 1995 and there is a huge difference between then and now. Hope the owners decide to invest money in a refurbishment bc the hotel would be great if they would.

Unfortunately there were a few small things that added up decreasing the overall experience of our stay at Hotel Dauphine. When we got to our room there was no soap or toiletries. We asked staff for these and were told it would come. After coming back 5 hours later there was still no hand soap or toiletries. We ran to the store and purchased ourselves. The next day we were gone all day and came back in the evening to our room that hadn’t had maid service (we did not have any DND sign posted). The next morning we called and asked for maid service, which did come, so on day 3 we got our room cleaned and finally got the soap/toiletries. We also had issues with valet not being available/around one of the days we needed to access our car. It looked like he ran to lunch which is understandable but the front desk was dismissive and didn’t know he wasn’t there as they told us he was and that we just must not have seen him. Overall a fine but somewhat disappointing stay in an incredible city.

Great location in FrQtr. But the age of the hotel and rooms is catching up to it. The room itself was fine but I had a number of concerns. It was a cool wk which was fine but the heater did not work in the room. The hot water was luke warm. The shower pressure was poor. Outside the balcony was a distant constant annoying scraping. I think it was a security gate. Anyway it never stopped. The staff was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the bar. Kate was cute. Did not use the pool but nice place to relax. Ideal location for FrQtr and Bourbon st and Canal St. Glad had a fridge but no micro. Nice they provided 2 bottles of water. Really cool balconies. However I am not sure I would stay there again.

Some of the categories were worse than terrible. The staff was either a pack of liars, didn't care a bit about guests or completely incompetent. I stayed in Room 209 and the defining thing was the raw sewerage that backed up into the bathroom wash basin. Not only unpleasant but a clear health hazard. I reported this to the front desk each day and was assured they would \"take care of it.\" They never did nor did they offer to move me to a new room. Other issue: the safe had no key, I was advised that an earlier guest must have taken it with a shrug. My very favorite: one of the table lamps was missing a light bulb which I reported every day. Never replaced despite assurances and final straw: I requested a wake up call the last morning which never came. You should lose these guys.

Hotel is a bit dog-eared but but the room was fine and location was great, and the price on a Sunday was good. The pool had a lot of organic matter floating on it—- insects? Plant debris? We ended up not staying at the hotel. When we saw the condition of the hotel and the DUMP of a room, I went back to the desk and told them that I could stay there. They said they would refund my money. The pictures that are on their website are DRASTICALLY different than the actual hotel. The owners of this hotel MUST spend money on fresh paint, new carpet, lightbuilbs in the elevator, etc. This is the first time ever of using Hotels.com where I felt I was deceived.

We stayed in the Herman house which is across the street from the main hotel. The shared courtyard was cute. Upon entering our room, the light switch wasn’t working correctly. Also, the shutters would open randomly because the magnet wasn’t sticking. The tub had mold in the clock. And the room had a musty smell when we walked in. We did notice the smell dissipated after we made clean the room on the second day. No maid showed up on the third day. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, the room was cute and different. Would we stay here again? Possibly but not in that room. Just steps away from Bourbon Street and all the fun but quiet enough where you could get a good nights sleep.

When we arrived the staff claimed there was no valet parking and told my partner to park at a parking garage two blocks down. They then let another customer in the valet parking when my partner drove down the street while i waited with the luggage. The tow truck driver was sitting near the parking garage, my partner told me, they were towing cars. This was a scam. When I complained to the staff all of a sudden they said my partner could come back and they would find parking. The staff at the desk miscalculated and over charged my debit for incidentals. The staff at the desk said they did not know. We got the wrong room that was originally booked. And then when I asked for a receipt when I left the staff said they did not know how to print one up at the front desk. For the price this was the most negative experience and if you want a trip to new orleans that is positive I would not book this hotel

Parking was easy since it was in the garage. We were not put in the room we booked which was the Superior Carriage House King room and instead were placed in the Premium Hermann House room. They did not tell us we were switched rooms until we asked. The carpet in the room was not clean and the tub jets looked dirty. I was expecting a nicer room for what we paid. The reason for the switch was because it was double booked. I don’t know who booked first but just be aware you may not get the room you want even if it’s showing available.

The staff was nice but couldn’t do anything without the manager who wasn’t available when I went to the front desk a few different times. I would think there would be more than one manager but apparently not.

We really enjoyed our time in New Orleans and will be back, just not to this hotel.

Our room was gross. The carpet was really old and grimey. The mirrors in the bathroom were in need of repair and or replacement. Ive never seen a shower with a wall of mirrors. Not a fan. The ceiling had rafters that had dust chandeliers, aka dusty cobwebs. The staff were friendly and helpful. But I will be staying back at this hotel. I have had cheaper hotels in better condition. And the breakfast option was severely overpriced and not good at all. Now, the bar and the bartender was excellent.

This is a great location for exploring the French Quarter and the riverfront area. Staff are friendly. However, the Premium Herman House King Room I booked was not as nice as the pictures on Expedia, which showed a couch and sitting area, and most importantly had a constant “wom wom wom” noise coming from the bathroom ceiling all day and night. That combined with the loud rattle of trash pickup at 4am daily made it tough to sleep. If you want this location, maybe go with a nicer room in the main building. Herman House isn’t as nice as it looks.

The hotel is very convenient to bourbon street. The front desk was hospitable and the room was fine. It’s nothing to write home about but there isn’t really anything bad about the hotel
