We stayed for 3 nights, it was on the top floor (2nd). Room space was adequate, not very spacious. It was a country style hotel with good vibes. But could do better with roome service as it is in middle of woods so you may see small insects if window is open.

This is a wonderful place to stay. It feels like the Scottish hunting lodge it was, solid and comfortable and close to the forest. The view over Loch Ness is perfect. The staff take very good care of you. The food is excellent. The location is convenient to all the Highlands. The bed is comfortable. There is a fine lounge downstairs and chairs on the lawn overlooking the loch. My only tiny complaint was that the toiletries and in room coffee came in tiny plastic packaging which caused a lot of difficult recycling.

This was a lovely place to stay near Loch Ness, with a view of the loch from our room. Service was very good, with attentive and kind staff. Food offerings were varied, and what we ate was wonderful. This hotel, though small, holds a rustic grandeur that encourages a long happy stay. Though my own stay was short (only 2 nights), I was able to explore the lucious ground and glenway trail that is connected to the hotel. As well as the friendly and helpful staff. The bar and restaurant were superb. Accommodations were alightly dated but held a rustic charm.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Inch Hotel. It's in such a great spot - our day was spent visiting Culloden and Loch Ness with the intention of driving onwards towards Fort William. The Inch Hotel was in a perfect spot for a one night stop during this drive/trip. We loved that we could see Loch Ness from our rooms. The rooms were comfortable and decorated nicely. We loved the all-around coziness of the hotel. The carpet, decorations, and general look was exactly what we wanted in a small hotel. Our favorite part was the communal den - it had games, bookshelves, a wonderful fire place, and a gorgeous big window that overlooked the Loch. Also, we can't speak highly enough about the staff. They were kind and accommodating. I was very impressed! Finally, we had dinner and then breakfast there, and both meals were delicious. We had wanted to walk into town for dinner, but sadly arrived far too late in the evening to make it possible! But the next morning we did the walk into town, and it was an easy walk! I'd highly recommend staying here!

We had a one night stay on our way back home from completing the NC500. We were made very welcome, including our dog. Food was excellent, staff very friendly and only a few minutes walk from the little town of Fort Augustus. Hotel was lovely, however looking a little tired. This hotel advertises that it has a malt selection of 60 varieties, we found this appeared to be much reduced.

I was pleasantly surprised on arrival at The Inch Hotel. The manager who checked us in was really friendly and helpful, he gave us lots of information on the local area and recommended places for us to visit and the best way to get there. Our room was possibly in the furthest part of the hotel and i couldn't get any wifi there but the size of the room, the bed and the overall cozyness made up for it. The en suite bathroom was a bit of a hazard, the light switch hit you in the face if you forgot it catches on the door and don't move quick enough, the shower was over the bath and without a none slip bath mat both me and my partner had a close calling getting out of the shower and both nearly slipped. We ate both breakfast and an evening meal here and both were excellent. All the staff were super friendly and helpfull. The bar area was cozy and there is a seprate room to relax in with comfy chairs and great views. There are loads of excellent prints/photos all around the hotel of wildlife and scenery, i would of bought some if they were for sale. I enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

Must try harder - what a disappointment
I note a large number of 10* reviews and cannot accept those as genuine. I've stayed in this hotel on 4 previous occasions and always been really happy with it. But the dinner this time was terrible and breakfast just about ok. The bar was only stocked with products you could buy at the local convenience store and had only one type of gin. Gone is the traditional Scottish country house ambiance, replaced by pizza and empty fireplaces by the new owner. Very disappointing :(

Each room is named after a Scottish Loch. The carpets are tartan colours. The food is amazing. The friendly staff are courteous and helpful. The hotel exudes charm. Loch Ness is visible from many rooms and is within walking distance. The sunrises over Loch Ness were glorious. I’d love to stay there again. A lucky find for us!

Overall, this is probably my favorite hotel I have ever been to. Staff was top notch, breakfast was incredible, room was very comfortable and clean. Easy walk to village center. Please note: The Highland cows that are pictured aren’t currently there (as of 18 July, 2024) due to a fence issue. The hotel is incredible nonetheless!

My husband I stayed here overnight. It was a nice quiet stay with a pretty view of the loch. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel has charm, but could use a few updates particularly in regard to the bathroom. We also weren’t able to successfully lock our door when we left the room. The restaurant was tasty, but on the pricey side. There aren’t any other options nearby.

As it’s an older hotel, there is no air con.it would elevate the service if a fan was provided as standard. Opening the window is just an open invitation for moths and other such flying insects.

The hotel was not at all as advertised. The internet and television did not work. The teapot in the room was full of mold. The heater didnt work in the room. The window didnt close all the way. The staff worked very hard to deal with all these issues, but they said these issues had been going on for a long time. It is a bed and breakfast so breakfast is meant to be included with the price. However, we were charged at check out for 2 breakfasts. The breakfast was inedible, it tasted like there was half a bottle of salt in the eggs. 15 pounds per breakfast for something you could not eat. There are also no cows to be found anywhere near the property

We spent our last night in Scotland at this hotel. We wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel was very quaint, cozy, and picturesque. The location was incredible with views of Loch Ness and the Highland cows! The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Saskia checked us in and she was an absolute delight! She was so friendly and accomodating! We had not made a booking for breakfast the next day before our early departure, but she made sure there was space for us. The food was great, as well as the coffee! Thank you Saskia for being such a lovely person! We highly recommend staying here at The Inch Hotel!

Found the staff excellent , food very pricey and although it says :pet Friendly: in reality it is not, clean rooms and public areas , its location is a plus but I feel that it is overpriced and to charge for a dog that can only be kept in the room is frankly scandelous.

Best check in ever! Saskia came outside to greet us and was so lovely. The house is gorgeous and homey. The surrounding areas beautiful. Dinner and breakfast were great (I’m a super picky foodie and this exceeded all expectations!) cool trails in the woods around the property. And super quiet and peaceful at night. We want to come back and spend a few days in the future.

This is a real taste of Scotland overlooking its most iconic Loch.
The beds were super comfortable. Shower was unfortunately a bit weak and not really hot enough and on a cold day this would have been an issue. Breakfast was vast and included many traditional dishes and service was exceptional but could have done with a proper espresso coffee (although I admit this is really an Italian speciality). Stags heads on the wall, tartan carpet and beautiful Scottish vistas makes for an overall excellent experience.
