The lobby and other shared spaces were updated and the staff was very friendly upon check-in. The room photos were deceiving online as the standard double room was not updated. There were issues with the shower and the floor of the bathroom flooded each time.

My room was spotless and I felt really well looked after at the Hotel Angela. The staff, particularly the reception team, restaurant staff and the Wellness massage therapist were helpful and friendly. The bathroom could do with refurbishing next year however as it was not at the same 4 star level as the rest of hotel, but it was clean.
Really enjoyed the amenities, particularly the warm indoor pool. A great facility with everything you need. The dining menu was good with at least two fish dishes available at dinner so a good variety of dishes.
A big shout out to the amazing and wonderful Maria on reception. Nothing was too much trouble for her and it was clear, the only objectives she had were to understand my needs and to make sure I was comfortable and happy. What a great member of the reception team. But actually, the entire reception staff were impressive. A very good first time experience.

This was our 3rd stay at the hotel. We like the location and that it caters to adults rather than families. The room are a little dated but they’re comfortable with good amenities

The hotel is far from being a 4 star. The staff at the front desk it depends who “assist you” some are very kind but need to ask someone else for answers, and we even had a person who despite being 3 employees at the front desk and absolutely no one else but us, told us to check the app for the information…not really pro hospitality. The spa…omg the lockers, I was shocked at their condition. Some reviews talk about sustainability but the rooms at an ibis are much better when it comes to sustainability, the WiFi is very bad and the rooms are average. The area around the hotel is nice and some reviews talk about the elderly people but it’s just the area but if you go more towards the center there’s a mix of ages.

This one I wasn’t sure how to write. I will start with my ending thoughts- overall I would go back to this hotel and recommend it with some tips for travellers beforehand. If you go premium don’t expect to be treated premium in all the bars or reception. For example the hotel gave our room to another guest who came in when we were in the room, they apologised and gifted us some wine but then refused to provide a corkscrew and wanted us to go and buy our own. It’s a conflicting hotel and I’m not sure the extra price for premium is entirely worth it.

Lovely hotel. Staff very pleasant, rooms cleaned every day. 3 pools, one indoor which is very relaxing. We had a wonderful stay, but one thing to complain about is the food. Do not book any food, it really is awful, a couple of restaurant staff were very rude and signs everywhere about being careful about food portion sizes. The hotel is situated next door to restaurants, and are very good at low cost. Dont eat meals at the hotel, would rate the food as 1 star and im being generous.

We stayed in a Junior Suite and were so pleased. It was spacious, the bed enormous, clean and comfortable. All staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was good and although we never made it down for breakfast, the buffet at night was great, with lots of choices.
All in all, a calm relaxed week, just what we needed. We will definitely be back, loved it.

Loved our stay at Hotel Angela, our room (Seaview Terrace) was amazing. Only negative was being charged 2.50 Euros for 8 lumps of ice when our in room fridge wasnt working at first. They did fix the fridge on the second day but the guy at the pool bar who charged us for the ice was not friendly at all. Overall a lovely stay though and the room was gorgeous.

Lovely hotel with modern decor and wonderful views. Loved the swimming pool and roof top bar, but was disappointed with the sun-beds all being taken up with towels and no-one using them until later on the day.

Hotel was lovely and clean . I had the deluxe junior suite which was really nice . Lovey ad clean and very spacious. My only complaint would be you are not shown how to work anything in your room. I had no idea how to work the chrome cast or coffee machine. I just felt the service could have been better . The hotel itself though was lovely and right next to many bars and restaurants and steps away from the beach .

This is the 3/4th time I have stopped at this hotel & previous visits have made me return, however this time I noted changes - some for the worst:
Happy Hour was 7-9 its now 8-9 meaning your queuing for about 30 minutes to get served. Also adding to this problem is guests from other hotels are coming in just for the Happy Hour meaning finding a seat is very difficult.
The Evening meal charge (If you have not booked half board) went up last week from 19 to 30 Euros! I also hear the choices of meals has been reduced.
The \"Towels on the sunbeds\" issue is totally out of hand with all beds having been taken within 10 minutes of the area opening.
The New Roof top area is only partly nice - yes there are 4 lovely double sun loungers with a super thick mattress's & the seating area is very nice however the single sunlounges are out of 1960s Dads Army type - Very uncomfortable & being charged 15 euros to gain entrance is terrible.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in a junior suite and really liked the room. The room was facing the sea, comfortable and no disturbances from other guests. The only negative was the tv kept turning itself on in the middle of the night and seemed to have a mind of its own! No biggie.

An excellent hotel popular with British clientele. The food is buffet style with a good choice of everything from soup, salad, pasta and meats. The evening entertainment is more focussed towards the older generation but usually good fun.
At breakfast there is a great coffee machine which also dispenses hot water. Unfortunately this results in a long wait even for hot water - a separate dispenser would be good.
Some of the evening entertainment can feel a bit background music. Would be nice if they had proper sound system, disco lights etc.

Could not fault the hotel. Booked breakfast and evening meal, plenty of choice every day, above average for the normal all inclusive meals, ate out some nights and felt we’d missed out by not eating at the hotel. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was beautiful with amazing views. Had a fantastic welcome from the young lady on reception who was as excited for us to be there as we were. Couldn’t fault any of the staff, all very helpful and served with a smile. Myself and my daughter (20s 50s)stayed in this Lovely hotel across the road from the beach we had a free room upgrade it was beautiful had a sea view and felt very lucky .. staff were friendly and helpful. Most the people were older and some very friendly but some were rude and seemed to think they owned the sunbeds which we experienced on first day so it put us off and we stayed on the beach rest off our short stay but clean hotel and lovely staff rooms.

The indoor pool was fabulous. The entertainment was very good but it's a shame that during my stay i never saw anyone playing the grand piano. I felt a little under pressure to 'purchase' a drink at the evening dining, when i would have preferred just a glass of 'free' tap water.

I was sampling this hotel for one night, as I had been in mijas for 11nights…. I know the area very well. I chose this hotel as the pool is the best one around that area on the front , only negative the pool opens at 9 not like they tell you at reception 8am … then you have to queue and you don’t get sun on 3/4 of the beds until after 11…..

A convenient location with adequate rooms and an exceptional view. The WiFi is great (I was using it even sat outside of the hotel) and the smart tv options were superb (free view available). The three passenger lifts are small and during peak times can get quite busy, but the staff are friendly and helpful. I’ve been told the onsite bar and restaurant are quite expensive in comparison to the surrounding area, but holidays are all about going out anyway, and the local amenities are choices are amazing, and within very short walking distance.

Double and twin rooms are not the biggest but are nice and modern and comfortable.
Plenty of choice if your eating in, you can't go hungry and the food is piping hot.

The hotel is an older building and can do with some remodeling. Our first room had bugs so they moved us, the phone never worked on our 4 day stay even after several attempts at fixing it, the WiFi was not reliable. I booked this hotel not knowing that it caterers to an older much older demographic then ourselves, the live music and hotel bar shuts down at 11:00pm.

This hotel will take some beating! I found it 100% from the invite and welcome from the start for the whole stay and the very polite and friendly departure. It was my Birthday while i was there and the hotel placed a lovely bottle of Champagne and a card in my room. What a lovely gesture.
The evening entertainment was very good and most enjoyable. I cannot comment on the food as we ate out but other residents we spoke to said how nice it was.
I thouroughly recomend this hotel and will definitely look again at staying there.

Had to make 4 trips to reception each time i needed something as would be fobbed off and the phone did not work as they kept giving me the wrong code to dial. 2 staff members had a habbit of giving a lecture rather than providing a service. As a vegetarian I normally struggle in Spanish hotels (and prefer Greece and Turkey for that reason) but this hotel was fabulous. Lots for everyone meat eaters and veggies alike. Breakfast costs 8 euro and dinner 14.The breakfast is fantastic with lots of fresh fruit, strong coffee, juices, infused water and a mix of Spanish, continental and cooked breakfast. Bread lovely and fresh too. The dinner buffet is fabulous, the salad bar stays the same and I love the gazpacho, desserts are plentiful, the hot meals have a slight theme as well ie one night had Arabic style, one was Asian with spring rolls, English roast etc. Pool is nice but pics are a bit deceptive as it looks huge on some pics when it isn't. Nice area and kept clean with great views. The reason why I am giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is that it claims to be refurbished when the only things refurbed about it are the shower (which is great- nice water pressure and roomy too) and a lick of paint/ headboard. The rest of the bathroom was 1980s looking and was obvious it was just a bathtub pulled out and replaced by a shower. As another review said there were hairline cracks on stuff. My other complaint is that there was a power cut for around an hour between 1945-2045 ie dinner time which isn't the staff's fault but it meant half the buffet could not be served due to how warm it got/ hygiene reasons and not only was the power off but so was the water so could not wash hands or use loo. No compensation was offered
