The stay was OK. To get to the room, it was really odd. There was a small step then another larger step into the room itself- kinda weird. The room itself was really clean. The floors were really Noisy It was like there was no padding underneath the flooring, and it was echoey. Lastly, breakfast was very basic. Some packaged muffins and some breakfast cereal bars were all that was available.

The staff was incredible, very personable and friendly. Pet friendly with a grassy area nearby. The only downside was that the walls are thin and the neighbors shower woke us. Will definitely stay here again.

The motel was clean and well taken care of. The room was clean and larger than expected. There is a chair at the desk and a nice chair on the other side of the room. AC/heater operates from the thermostat in the room so it can cycle between cold and heat depending on the temperature you set it. Worked well and was not as loud as some others. Toilet and walk in shower are in they're own room with an exhaust fan while the sink is in the larger room. Like that. The bed was firm but comfortable and the pillows were good. Coffee maker and fridge were nice to have. The included breakfast is about as light as it gets. The photos show a waffle maker and other things but thaey must be stock photos because they don't have them here. Just a muffin, little yogurts, cereal, and coffee. No toast or bagels. It's nice though to be able to grab something to snack on. We had a nice stay here and I'm sure we'll stay here again.

Parking for longer vehicles limited. @ 71 yrs, i had to walk/carry from the street. Things were tidy.
One thing missed-- was, mini fridge freezer very frosted.

Why would a hotel invested so well as this (amenities are exceptional for a Super 8) restrict its patrons to an uncomfortable night’s sleep? We wondered why we were NOT resting deeply, just tossing and turning, until we discovered that ridiculous little motion detector on the air conditioning thermostat that limits the cool air we would receive throughout the night - so long as there is Exaggerated movement. Who would create such a device for hotels that lets the room get super hot for 20 minutes and then cools it down for 4 ice cold minutes. There is no option for a second mole constant fan mode! Who doesn’t appreciate a ceiling fan’s never ending breeze and sound. I hate that stupid thermostat.

The room was nice and clean. The AC kept the room at a good temperature for me to sleep well. I only used the mini fridge but having a microwave and coffee maker in the room is a nice feature to have. The TV had plenty of channels for me to find something good to watch. There were plenty of restaurants and stores close by. I enjoyed my stay and will be back if I stay in the area again.

The place is old, but to be fair, it's in Susanville. I have not stayed at Super 8 before, so I cannot compare this Super 8 to other Super 8 motels. But I believe you get what you paid for. The check-in staff was nice. The room did not feel particularly clean, but fortunately the bed sheets were clean. The walls are thin because you can hear others conversation if they are talking in front or near you door.

Very convenient location on our journey to meet up with family in Oregon.
Wish the breakfast had been available longer than up to 9a. That was not a good time for leisurely travelers with small children or those arriving late into the night.
Even 10a or 1030a be better. Myself and my 2 grandsons got over to the eatery at just after 9a and it was all closed up.
The beds were very comfortable and the room was nice and clean.

No on site parking for trucks, trailers, or RVs

The room was terrific; however, the property advertises RV, truck, trailer parking and this is NOT available! The parking is three blocks away at the fairgrounds IF available. I called to double check this feature and they assured me that parking was available. Makes things hard when towing a truck with a trailer and having to walk 3 blocks with 3 kids under the age of 5 at MIDNIGHT!

Additional options for breakfast like waffles and or a toaster with bagels and cream cheese would have made it better. Maybe an extra towels and pillows. Staff were all excellent, particularly Rachel who was a real gem. Some special accomodations were needed, as cell phone and internel service were down to the whole town when I arrived. They ably worked around most of the difficulties, with the only real snag being my booking through Expedia, which the property was constrained to, and they were real slow to respond even after service was restored.
