Kresna By The Sea is a lovely place to stay. I loved the way it has been designed. It has a peaceful ambience.
Great amenities, the rooms are a good size, safe in the room, little kitchen so you can self cater. Close to the beach, for surfing, bars etc. The staff are all lovely.
It's quiet. I would recommend to anyone who likes calm over the chaos in Bali.

Toilet didn’t flush properly even after 2 requests. Bathroom had no towel rails or hooks to hang your clothes on. Robe only had 3 hangers. Restaurant didn’t understand the concept of serving cold beer

The address of the club rooms is not as advertised. The actual location is several minutes away and is at a separate property that is old and run down. We asked for a refund and would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed in the Villa Kresna Boutique and Suites - Junior Suite.
Our room looked out to the pool. Villa Kresna is in a great location, less than 2 minute walk to the beach, 5/10 mins away from restaurants and bars.
Our room was immaculate on arrival and after all visits from housekeeping. Housekeeping also come around daily to spray the rooms to keep out mosquitoes, this was a welcome bonus as I do tend to get bitten, so this service was much appreciated.
All staff were very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again and can recommend it.
Only negative point I can make is that there weren't enough hangers in the wardrobe for both of us, as we were staying 2 weeks we had a lot of clothes!

Great stay at Villa Kresna. It was a little confusing to find the villa at first as they have 2 location and where the actual villa is located is like a labyrinth to get to when you are not used to Seminyak.

Staff is very helpful and kind. We were there for my birthday and they provided us with a surprised birthday cake after our breakfast order at the villa.

Firstly, I didn't end up staying at this Villa. and thankfully I received a full refund.
The night prior to our arrival, under 24hr notice, I was informed that there were renovations happening, and we'd be compensated with one free meal each per day. A $5 meal doesn't compensate the expense of this villa though.
I also believe that they need to seperate the two accommodations they offer. The villa was not near the pool you see pictured here. Also it is positioned in an area away from everything, which would be nice if the villa was nice enough to spend time relaxing at. We like to walk everywhere so the fact there was no footpaths next to the roads makes this more difficult, especially if you have children.

We went and viewed the villa and it was cute and clean. Probably not worth the $$ in my opinion. The renovations were underway right next door to the villa we were given, I mean on the other side of our wall... my main complaint is that I wasn't given enough notice.
I had to waste part of my holiday finding a new place.

I really hope management improves their communication with guests

Overall Villas are in need of upgrade,having said that everything worked and upkeep was excellent.Staff were pleasant and on standard issues very good but when a mistake on bookings made by me Silver Service were needed to sort out problems. The Straw Hut is past use by date but staff pleasant and food delicious,but variation of set menu can be disastrous.

Great for circa AUD100 stay in seminyak

- Basic structure, nice fit out.
- Double air conditioning that worked well
- Okay shower but hot water may be limited to circa 15 minutes tank
- Location (proximity) to main district was great, just a short 800~m walk which allows you to feel tucked away with no noise and disturbance.
- Location (environment) wasn't great. Apparently has security issues as advised by the front office manager and we were told to not walk out after dark. Streets were dirty and smelly.
- Parking and getting in/out wasn't an issue with a scooter.
- Inclusions were basic, 2 bottles of water a day. We had food vouchers as renovations were on-going which did not disturb us.

The location of Villa Kresna is excellent as there is a laundry service just down the street as well as a Circle K convenience store. It is a short walk to some of the main streets of Seminyak and the Rush Bamboo restaurant is just across the street. The Villa offers a airport shuttle service and the attached restaurant is very tasty.

We were only told that there were two properties located in different address after we made reservation. Also got communication after we made reservation that there is construction going on. They did offer a free lunch and ride to airport as compensation. However, for some of the communication, it took over a week to get a reply.

This property is set in a quiet spot only 2 minutes walk from the beach. It's very peaceful and the staff are pleasant and helpful. The small restaurant serves a good breakfast and dinner; the nasi goreng was delicious. There's also a small bar.
The walk to the main street was about 10 to 15 minutes on a fairly dark, narrow road so be very careful at night. However, I would definitely stay again.

Brief feedback: We had to wait past 2:30pm to check in. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room is old and in need of refurbishment. They are doing minor renovations in around the villa which can be intrusive but we were informed of this early on. Old decor does not excuse the lack of cleanliness. I am not OCD but the bathroom door & frames could do with extra effort in cleaning. We stayed for 2 short nights but I shall stay elsewhere the next time. Also, a little far off the main street and it is slightly dangerous to walk because of the narrow road.

Quiet back street location minutes from beach

Very spacious and looked after with amazing amenities. For what you pay for, the villa gives back in spades with private plunge pool approx 5 ft deep, private open plan living and very comfortable beds.

This villa sleeps three with a Double bedroom and single bedroom although listed as a one bed. It has two bathrooms when we only expected one and is extremely close to all the amenities of Seminyak including beach, restaurants, bars, shops etc.

It is down a back lane so mini torch recommended which we knew before we went so no issue and a mini mart and circle K for basics less than 2 minutes walk.

We stayed at the villa which has the straw hut on site. We ate and drank here regularly with great choice of foods and drink and always extremely good service.

The villa staff could not do enough for us and called if we had the no clean sign up to make sure we had enough water and toilet roll etc if we didn’t want them to clean.

There were a few tiny issues but none would stop us returning again. Little bit dusty on top of the shades in the living room but there are about 12 which adds to the special feel at night and there is minor building works going on at a neighbour but we were informed before arriving and asked several times if we were ok and was it bothering us.

Honestly can not fault this place and will happily be teturning in two years to This beautiful country and the beautiful villa.

This boat trip was a nightmare to and from and delayed the majority of our trip I would reccomend the hotel to rethink their contacts with this company

Be aware of having to climb 2 flights steep stairs to get to rooms on 2 top floors. One of most beautiful hotel rooms I have stayed in. Feels more like a private upscale residence. Marble bathrooms, separate marble shower and porcelain tub very beautiful. Extremely spacious for 1 or 2 people and I stayed alone. 2 fragrant yellow flower buds on each side of beautifully made up bed. I could sleep on day bed outside listening to wind in tropical trees. Just to right of property is a path down to beach and you can actually hear and see waves right outside. It's so quiet at night. The waves light up from surrounding structures. Lots of pvt small boutique hotels around this area and it just feels so private and lush. It took me less than 5 min to reach beach and I walked alone at night but it's very dark and I still felt safe. Needer toilet paper and security guard provided me alot more.

Villa Kresna Boutique Villas

Kresna is an older establishment that has aged well. I stayed in a Pool Side Villa, which was split level and totally suited my needs to relax as well as do remote business from my lap top. The villa was spotless, comfortable and appointed with a small kitchenette including stove. The open air shower/toilet, which is quite private, was a complete surprise and sheer delight. WiFi is of an excellent standard with good bandwidth and speed. The staff are very friendly and accommodating but this is Bali after all and lees than that would be unusual to say the least.
The dinning at Kresna is best suited to breakfast or when you just cant be bothered to venture out. Room service is provided for meals. The fare is pleasant enough and well priced but don't expect anything special. The bar is nice and makes for a good starting point before venturing out.
Villa Kresna is located only a few of hundred meters from The Obori and KuDeTa at the beach end of Eat Street (Kayu Aya) in Seninyak. There is a scooter rental shop just outside the property for those adventurous enough to brave Balis' traffic.
The rate is very reasonable by any standard and personally I think great value. 4.5 Stars for this Hidden Gem.

The whole room is creepy! They have one locked door upstairs and one locked wardrobe in the room. They have lots of photos showing one family with an boy. The most terrifying thing is there has one big scissor placed in photo album. The photo where the scissor placed on shows the boy was lying on a bed in hospital with one leg hanging. The tape water is way too salty and smelly, cannot use for bath and toothbrushing. Staying there was the most unpleasant journey especially at night!

We were greeted by the owner Wayan even if we arrived in the late evening. The villa exceeded our expectation, the only downside is that the villa is rather far away from the airport, around 5 hours drive.

At first we were disappointed because we expected to be in a room at the Villa Kresna property closer to the beach. Villa Artista is walking distance to Eat Street and the beach. We loved the garden , the beautiful balcony dripping with bleeding heart vine in flower. The breakfast in The Straw Hut very good . We would go back for sure.

The villa was a neat space. A 5-10 minute walk to the beach and 10 minute walk to seminyak square. I was a solo traveller so I didn't feel great about walking through the villa areas at night from the main roads. Tight roads with many scooters. But overall an enjoyable stay. Air con wasn't strong in the bedroom. The rest of the villa is open air.

While the room was very nice, small conveniences were lacking. Television reception was unwatchable throughout my stay. WiFi weak and inconsistent. Restaurant food quality was poor. Constant stagnant water odour was off-putting but likely unavoidable. Inconsistency in charges and inclusions from day to day depending on the staff member was a little irritating and a bit insulting but easily remedied. For a relatively expensive Bali hotel, it could have been a little bit better.

We advised in advance that we would arrive a bit late from the airport, so we coordinated with the reception to wait for us to check in. The room was perfect, all very clean and tidy. Awesome breakfast! A simple breakfast but very well prepared and blunt. The hotel was about 50 meters from the beach, which kept you away from the normal noise of Seminyak, but not so much so that you can not get around walking everywhere. Very attentive staff, always smiling and solving any queries we had.

A tucked away gem in the best part of Seminyak

Had a 5 night stay while I shot a wedding in Bali ... Villa Kresna was an ideal place to rest in between shoots. Location is central Seminyak yet tucked away in a back street and still only 50 metres to the beach. Staff were very accommodating ... free breakfast was a great start to each morning and the apartment was serviced every morning very diligently. I would definitely return to VK ... price and location is king!!

Enjoyed my stay but the villa was very small and old. Bathroom was open air but still felt very dated. Check in was in a dark and dingy room. I went to the address on the website for check in to be told it was somewhere else. People were friendly at the hotel. A padlock on the front of the room was not a nice start. Pool area was nice and I enjoyed a couple of dips. Only stayed for three nights. Upstairs area was pretty redundant really and never went up there. Bed was king size and comfortable. Reception organised a motor bike for me and a taxi at early hours, with a wake up call. I had asked for a metered taxi to take me to the airport but he wouldn't put it on and at that time in the morning I didn't have much choice...it was 4am. The stay was enjoyable and away from the main shops and restaurants, it was walkable though taxis or in my case a moped got around that problem. It was also very quiet which in Bali comes at a premium to say the least. Breakfast was ok, to be fair food was more expensive than I thought it would be. Poached eggs on toast was nearly £6.

Reasonable accommodation really close to the beach

The condition of the hotel/room is not brand new, but effort has been put into ensuring that it is clean and tidy. For the price we were paying, it was definitely a good deal. We booked deluxe rooms which were on a higher floor. Do note that the hotel has no lifts, steps may be a problem for those who have bad knees/aren't so mobile. Don't worry about having to carry your luggage up yourself though - the hotel have friendly staff on hand to help you out with that. Breakfast was sufficiently pleasing - as a few reviews have said, the pancakes here deserve special mention. The big breakfast was good as well. All in all, in you want to be near the beach (but further away from shops) and hustle & bustle of Seminyak Square, Villa Kresna is a pretty good bet that won't burn a huge hole in your wallet.

The staffs were friendly. Unfortunately the facility was not so great. Bed was not comfortable and too sunken in. Wife had backache after 2nd night. Loud machine noice from Aircon compressor keep us awake 3 nights straight. Was not a King sized bed but 2 singles placed together and had a GAP in the middle where our Son slept. Surface of the pool had rough edge tiles which my Son had a few knock and cuts on him. Truly not recommended for family stay. Too rough and distance from anything is at least 10 minutes walk in narrow lanes. Menu from Straw Hut is good for 2 to 3 days, anything after that... you would no longer have the appetite.

Quiet Villa near the beach

Fantastic villa, very quiet and away from all the hustle & bustle of Seminyak square but so close to everything. Beach was literally at the end of the walkway (20m). Amazing staff who couldn't do enough for me. Especially the mamma in the cafe, she cooked me a lot of meals & food was great. Staff also minded my luggage on the last day as I had a late night flight, allowing me to swim in the pool & offered me another villa free of charge so that I could shower & freshen up for my flight. Highly recommend. Only slight issue was not a lot of hot water in the shower. I will definately return to this hidden paradise.

The hotel is small and quaint. Check in was quick. They gave guests free lemonades while waiting to get checked in. The staff showed you around the room and tell you the amenities. The room was a good size with a nice view of the pool. Breakfast had enough options and the taste was fulfilling. Walking distance to shops, restaurant, and literally 2 minute walk to beach.
Con: The condition of the hotel does not rate it 4 stars in my standards, hotel standards, any standards. 2.5 stars at most. The beach close to the hotel is a bit dirty, trashy, and unimpressive so if you are staying at this hotel purely to be close to the beach then I don't think it's worth it. The pool is extremely small and uninviting. More for tanning on the side then actual swim. Another small detail about this hotel that does not rate it 4 stars and leaves me disappointed was with the breakfast service. Seems petty but, I ordered the same breakfast all three days which includes a fruit platter. For 2 days, I thought their \"fruit platter\" was processed jam. On the third day, I asked what the fruit platter entails and the staff said a variety of fruit. So this fruit platter actually existed and included real fruit. Why I didn't get it the first 2 days beats me. Overall, this hotel is cheap and livable. I recommend mainly for price.

Spacious and well-maintained villa!

It was a great stay for our group of three as the villa was spacious, clean, well-maintained and tastefully decorated. Although slightly secluded from the main street, this also meant that the area was quiet and peaceful. We found the area generally safe. We didnt have time to swim at the shared swimming pool directly accessible from our villa, but i noted that the water in the pool did not look very clean and was cluttered with fallen leaves. There was also construction going on early in the morning which disrupted our sleep, but they stopped after we made a call of complaint to the front desk. In future, it would be appreciated if the hotel could at least inform of such construction works beforehand If unable to schedule it at a later time. Overall, i wished i had more time spent in such a comfortable accommodation. Notably, the villa was only about a 10-minute walk from Ku De Ta !

Over rated and disappointing

This is a motel, not a 4 star villa/hotel. The photos look better than what you'll experience. The reception is a dark and unwelcoming space. The cool towels they brought looked dirty. I had never stayed in any establishment where the bath towels were in the condition I found in this place. They were all stained and threadbare. My sheets had stains on them when we checked in and i had to ask for ten to be changed. Had to complain 2 days in a row and physically take the towels to \"reception\" to change, and they still left the gray face washes. WiFi password was changed half way through our stay and no one had informed us until we complained about it not working. The little pool in front of the villa was the only positive as it was mostly private.

All natural!!!

Amazing hotel away from noisy areas but just a walk away. Surrounded by nice green areas and pools. The only you have to keep in mind with this hotel is that is like an outdoor villa sort of country home that said it is a little deteriorated from the environment none of it that will affect functionality of anything and the fact that is surrounded by nature (trees, plants, dirt, open air) it brings bugs (mosquitoes, little lizards, frogs, butterflies) none of this affected our stay even though all of this is unavoidable the staff did everything they could to take care of it. Granted none of this was happening inside the bedroom just the outdoor areas.

Good place for a small budget

Good facilities, clean rooms, but a bit hard to get to hotel due to location. Friendly staff, helpful, struggled communicating but apart from that overall happy.

Clean room, close to beach, wifi rarely worked .

For- close to beach, clean room.
Against- a little too far to shops, probably about 20mins walk. Aircon in room was faulty and with no ceiling fans, room was very stuffy. Reported fault to front desk who said they would look at it however the same fault persisted ( wasn't cold). Wifi woeful and we had to use our own portable modem.Upon checking out, I paid the room account by cash, but the staff member refused to give me a receipt as proof that I paid the account.I retrieved my cash and paid the bill by credit card and he then gave me a receipt showing nil balance

Great value Villa for what you pay for

Was very happy with Villa and chose to return for a second time. Delighted to be given the same room as we liked it the last time. Everything else was fine the way it was except for a few essentials which really needed attention.
1. Air conditioning wasn't cold enough in our room. Was amazed that I slept thru the night despite the average temperature.
2. wifi signal was never strong in the upper rooms. Signal is lost once you enter the room.
3. the reception are or main lobby area could REALLY use some fans to dispel the heat. Gets quite warm and humid when u have to sit there and wait for awhile.

Please see to the above mentioned details to keep up the good status.

Quite Villa and suitable for whom need relaxing

Room was spacious coz we choose Junior Suite.
But there are an animal ( Lizard ) in the bed room.
Black out for two times and it was made my sister panic while inside the bathroom

Location quite far from Seminyak Square ( need walk around 15 - 20 mins )
Breakfast not so many choices.
But overal was okay because value for money

Cool villa, well maintained pool, friendly staff.

The villa itself was spacious, tidy and had excellent aircon. Highlight was the lovely well maintained pool area. All staff were friendly and happy to help with any requests. I was very happy with the all inclusive breakfast where I was given a wide selection of fresh juices, large pot of tea (essential, I'm English), and a 'big breakfast'. Only potential downside is it's a fair walk to any of the 'spots' if you haven't got a scooter. I'm not a big Seminyak fan but have no complaints about the villa.

The hotel was in a good location by the beach however we had to keep the back sliding door closed as the smell of swamp got in. The water from the tap also smelled like it was coming from the swamp.

Affordable villa in Seminyak

It was my first time picking a villa to spent my 3 days in Seminyak Bali. The location is quiet, safe n comfortable. Close to Seminyak beach, in walking distance about 10 minutes-15minutes slow walk. We rent a bike at the villa reception and only cost us IDR65000 per day. The housekeeping staff will burn the mosquito repellent coil for every vacant villa. The swimming pool in the villa is ok I rate 3 half out of 5. Before you check in, I advice to just call the villa reception, to ensure which counter to go for check in cause there are two location to check in but it is just a walking distance away. But no worries, even when you reach the main counter, the reception staff will help you to arrange in sending you to your villa/room. ;)

Lovely spacious villa around a pool shared with a couple of other villas in a garden setting. Loved the outdoor bathroom. Great air-con to revive us after a hot day. Helpful staff.

Well kept hotel.

Superb, exquiste, spotless and well maintained hotel. Location wise is near to the beach which is about 2-3 minutes walk though a bit far from the main street. 'Outside the main action but still in it'. A big plus is the superb staff. The front desk staff is always helpful and jubilant to help with queries and requests. Thumbs up on this aspect.
When I first step in my spacious room I am impress by the cleanliness of the room though the bathroom looks a bit exhausted but I can see they try their best in keeping it to a good standard. Later I saw why is this so -the hotel deployed a group which consist of 4 person to clean a room. I am impressed.
Breakfast was served ala-carte therefor freshly prepared. Though not much of a choice on the menu, it is still good. The swimming pool a bit tiny but cute. Nevertheless a good spot to chill and rest.
After doing activities it is good to be back at the immaculate and beautiful hotel for rest or simply be lazy :).

In need of some TLC

Booked the duplex garden villa which turns out is a duplex loft (ie 3 stories!) with pool access villa. Not what I wanted nor expected. Way too big for one person (it sleeps 3 but could easily entertain 20 comfortably). Not to mention this villa shares a pool with other guests who during my stay happened to be small children. The design of the villa itself is inefficient with large spaces being wasted, no comfortable sitting area, an old \"tube\" television downstairs (this is 2016 right?) and half the upstairs being an empty unusable space, and the sinks upstairs in what is basically the passage way to the bedroom (I kept the bedroom doors open so the AC would reach the toilet, sink and shower area although the staff kept closing these doors every time I left the villa, rendering this area of the villa sweltering!). Upon arrival had to call maintenance to fix the clogged toilet upstairs and the missing hotwater, these things should be checked by staff. The kitchenette doesn't even have a bottle opener and no microwave nor working stove (not to mention no pots) to cook or heat up anything) so it is really a kitchen with just a fridge and a tea kettle and some plates - what is the point? The smaller bungalows on this property looked more thoughtful or it may be worth looking into the suites which are on a different property down the road.

Extremely nice villa's!

Very nice property. Close to beach, shops, and restaurants. It's off of the main Bali roads, so very quite and peaceful. Room was very clean and really comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Tranquil Oasis

Awesome location, quiet yet close to beach & shops

Really enjoyed our stay. Relaxing and quiet. Great location.
We stayed at the Kresna suites. If you have a group make sure you stipulate that as one person with us booked at the Kresna Villa's thinking he was in the same place as us. The is some distance between the 2 places.
This is being particular, as overall the place is great, but I suggest they scrub / give a fresh splash of paint around some of the door handles as some appeared a bit grubby.

Nice hotel close to beach but beware

We were pleased to be given an upgrade to a junior suite. Hotel seemed really good until we saw the condition of the bedroom. There was obviously a major water leak problem as the wall adjoining the bathroom was permanently wet
The bedroom floor was also wet making it dangerous to walk on for fear of slipping over. Even the bed was damp. We reported it to the staff who came straight away but seemed unable to do anything. It appeared that it had been like this for some time. In the end we had to refuse to stay before the manager agreed to move us to another villa close by. We never received any apology & the manager never put in an appearance.

Nice staff sweet pool and intimate atmosphere. Our room Lotus 5 was a little dull in decorative terms with the bathroom being the nicest room. I also think the sheets and pillowcase covers are long past their best and could do with being replaced as are grey as opposed to white. We had two days and only moved on as they had no availability. I left a jacket in the room and the staff kindly called the hotel I had moved to advising that I had left it behind. I would recommend this hotel but would suggest an update of rooms to management nothing major just a few decorative updates.

Rooms are large and clean but run down needs a face lift taxi drivers can not find hotel as hidden away down a very long lane and amost on the beach
Just tell the taxi driver the next street on the right after the Marret hotel and just follow the very long lane alway to the end as next door to Luna 2 appartments

Amazing Hotel

Wow, second time I have stayed here and didn't think it was possible to get better. The location is great, tucked away in a quiet side street so it feels private. Beautiful big rooms with great finishings. Really cute boutique hotel that do it right!! Staff are friendly and the hotel is great. Will definitely be back again!!

This hotel is in a great location. Staff are very pleasant. My only negative comment is that our room was very damp and smelt damp when you open the door. There was mould in the bedroom and bathroom and our clothes always felt damp. Please look at this as it ruins what otherwise would be a great place to stay.

Villa Kresna

I loved staying at the Villa Kresna. My room was huge, clean and very comfortable. It had perfect hot water and great water pressure, which I struggle to find in a lot of hotels in Bali. The hotel is a quiet, quaint boutique property. The location is perfect for the beach and the local restaurants are easy to access by walking along the beach. Accessing the hotel by road is great by bike/scooter - its a tighter squeeze for a car. Its about 10 minutes walk along a few alleys to get to the main road, but I love all those lane ways over there and found it very safe and not a problem at all. Everytime I walked out of the hotel, I was offered lifts by the locals, so getting around was no problem at all. I had room service once during my stay. The nasi goring was delicious. The pool is quite lovely too. Breaksfast was quite average, nothing fancy at all. It was ok for me but Id say would be a bit small for a man. Staff were reasonable friendly. I would definately stay there again and would recommend it

Great spot

I am in Bali for 2 months traveling. Love Villa Kresna, just a few glitches with internet which I need to work or else I would continue to stay here. Staff is wonderful, free breakfast is amazing with fresh pressed juice and cappuccinos, lattes, etc. The road into town is narrow so I always took taxis, beach is just down the path.

Great little hotel close to beach

Lovely spacious rooms although bathroom could have another towel rail and more shelf space. Deluxe room has tv viewing from bed but the Junior suites have separate lounge area with tv and no tv in bedroom. 15 min walk to eat street north and 10 min walk to beach bars and restaurants south. Close to beach. Pool was small and the very deep end could be converted to seating to enable more guests to enjoy the pool. Basic but good food in the small restaurant. We were in Suite 4 which was very quiet.
