This was our second stay at Hotel de Moura. It is a throwback to a more elegant era. The floors, ceilings and walls exhibit craftmanship that would be difficult to reproduce today.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. It has convenient parking and is an easy 6 minute walk from the historic center and castle.
The only downside is the lack of an elevator. The receptionist offered to carry our bags to our room. We are seniors and carried our bags up as we were travelling light.
We will definitely stay there again.

This wonderful older building became a hotel in 1900, which might have been the occasion of the last renovation. Today, faded glory is probably the best description.
I stayed in Room 1, a room that should not be used for guest accommodation. It looks onto a square but, perhaps for preservation reasons, there is no attempt a sound mitigation at all. Similarly, all the noise from the lobby, bar area arrives unfiltered into Room 1, which on a Friday night continued into the wee, small hours.

Very friendly and welcoming staff who recommended a great place to eat just across the plaza. Large private parking area at the back of the hotel and not visible from the street. The hotel was clean, as was the room. The continental breakfast was also excellent. The only downside was the matchbox sized room. It was so hard to find space for our luggage and the only hall space was taken up with a chair that had been put in the room. Not a lot of the room for the very high price. Pool not inviting.

The building's history'was amazing, the staff were very helpful. Facilities needs a litlle touch up. The breakfast was very poor. The pool was very far from hotel, long walk, and when we did get there it was very small. But overall a very good stay. Will definitely go there again soon.

Wow. Where do I begin. What a wonderful and unique property! Absolutely breathtaking. Staff was super helpful and gave us great dining recommendations. Room was comfortable and clean. The pool area was perfect way to cool off after a day of exploring. Will definitely be back again

Amazing old world charm

Amazing place, Hugh bedrooms, stunning decor and old world charm. The building itself is worth a visit. Balconies and courtyard for sitting outside plus wonderful lounge area inside. If you looking in this area stay here. Private car park at the rear. No restaurant but it’s in the middle of town and walking distance to cafes and restaurants. Nice town but like many it he area could do with an economy boost. Perhaps some of the outside needs painting again. One of the few places I’d go out of anyway to stay at.

Chambre au mobilier des années 70 et 80, disparate, trop volumineux pour l'espace. Plancher qui craque, éclairage déficient, salle de bain exigüe. Les photos laissent croire à un bâtiment plus luxueux qu'il ne l'est. Pas de réfrigérateur et le réceptionniste, allure débraillée, n'a jamais pu trouver de la glace lorsque demandé. Déjeuner médiocre, aucun aliment chaud, café imbuvable et service inhospitalier.

Amazing building in town full of history

Amazing building. We enjoyed the pool as very hot temps. -around 40c. Staff had kindly left the air conditioning on in our room to help with high temperatures.Some issues with hand basin and toilet in our room, however this did not impact our stay.Breakfast relatively good.WiFi fine.While we found Moura itself interesting, the lack of restaurants , especially those serving vegetarian food and extreme temperatures detracted from our stay.

We stayed for a few days over Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Hotel Moura. All staff that we met during our stay were helpful and professional. The room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was buffet continental style and was enough to start you up for the day. We will be back in Moura next year and will definitely look to stay here again.

A wonderful, traditional hotel modernised to provide what's needed for a contemporary stay. Good beds, cool rooms, excellent service, and a good breakfast (served from a pre-chosen list to ensure safe service in the current situation) Highly recommended!

So nice!

Hotel de moura was a very nice surprize. As soon as you arrive there was wonderful reception staff offering maps and suggestions for activities and restaurants. Carla was very kind and informative.
It was extremely hot when we arrived so we took advantage of the pool in the orange grove. The room was very large and clean with nice french windows. The whole building is stately and interesting. Beautiful ceilings and lovely courtyard. Nice bar lounge where we bought a 5€ bottle of great wine and drank it outside on upper balcony.
Breakfast was served in a spectacular room. The selection was great. Just stay here!

This quaint hotel is excellent!

It is a quaint hotel with lots of character. The room where we spent the night was very large and had a very comfortable bed, which seems to be a rarity these days, as most are usually too hard/firm. There was plenty of parking behind the hotel. The buffet breakfast was very good and the dining room was elegant. If you need to stay overnight in or near Moura, Portugal, this hotel would be an excellent choice!

Converted monastery

Converted monastery with lots of outside areas. Outside pool good slightly cool. Included buffet breakfast was fine. Room and hotel very enjoyable and good value. Our only issue was finding somewhere to eat in Moura - it was a Monday night and the end of a festival and therefore few places were open and little vegetarian food to be found. Otherwise Moura is a pleasant small Alentejo town with old castle and old town.

Good for one night

Hotel is an imposing building in Moura. For the price paid it represents great value. A bit 'faded' but our room despite having only limited natural light was a good standard. Car parking at the rear and walkable into the town. Pool area was not appealing.

We had a short break for our Wedding Anniversary, the weather was not very kind on our first day but the Hotel was a gem of a place and the local town is a great place to visit and walk around. This Hotel is an amazing piece of history being a remodelled convent. The room which was a premium double was very clean and comfortable. A very large double bed with exquisite bed linen and really comfy memory foam mattress. 2 double sofas and tv . The bathroom had a bath and shower. Breakfast was a good continental selection buffet served in the dining room. There is a large outdoor space with a garden and pool which would be lovely in summer. Staff on the whole friendly and helpful. The local area is renown for Olive Oil and Wine and there are several small shops selling local produce. There is a good choice of local restaurants serving local and International food.Of course there is also the castle and several historical buildings and museums. Would definitely return with friends.

Great old building, great staff, but no lift.

It's a beautiful old 18th Century building which has seen better days, but in terms of good old solid value for money it is impossible to beat. Best thing about the place has to be the structure itself, but the lovely helpful staff run it almost to a dead heat for first place. It's close enough in to the centre and the old castle for you to leave the car (securely off road) and walk around the cobbled streets. Superior and much larger rooms are 2nd floor, but there is no lift, and wifi doesn't work there. The bed was as hard as we've ever had, yet we've travelled widely in six continents over a period of 50 years. To be even more picky, the continental breakfast cold drink was clearly made from powder and had never seen anything like an orange during its life ! Still we'll give it four out of five because it shines way brighter than anything else, and is really outstanding value for money. It really is worth a stay.

a palace with parking

This hotel building dates back to 1853 and overlooks a central garden in town. It has/is been extensively renovated and is quite impressive inside and out. We had their best room with antique furniture and a cathedral ceiling. It was like sleeping in a palace. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is plenty of free parking in a courtyard at the back of the hotel. This is rather important as the streets are narrow.

Ficar no Hotel de Moura foi uma experiência memorável desde o primeiro minuto. O quarto era amplo, muito confortável e impecavelmente limpo, proporcionando noites de descanso tranquilas. O pequeno-almoço, servido numa sala cheia de carácter, foi variado e saboroso, ideal para começar o dia a explorar a região. A localização, bem no coração de Moura, permite chegar a pé aos principais pontos de interesse e a bons restaurantes, o que torna a estadia ainda mais prática. Destaco sobretudo a **simpatia** e disponibilidade de toda a equipa, sempre atenta a cada detalhe e pronta a ajudar, o que faz deste hotel um lugar onde apetece, sinceramente, voltar.

Sehr schönes Hotel um ein paar Tage in Moura zu verbringen. Der Innehof ist sehenswert. Im Garten beim Pool wachsen Orangen und Zitronen. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist gut sortiert, Leider gibt es nur Instant Kaffee aus einem Automaten zum Frühstück.
Wir waren bei Blackout in dem Hotel. Das Personal war Hilfsbereit und hat immer die neuesten Infos gehabt.

Tolle Lage, kostenloser Parkplatz, schickes Hotel, freundliches Personal, leckeres Frühstück. Soweit alles gut.
Die Sauberkeit muss ich leider mit einem Stern bewerten. Das Zimmer wurde nicht richtig gereinigt und wir haben ein paar Details unseres Vorgängers gefunden, die wir lieber nicht finden wollten.
Ich habe beim Checkout Bescheid gegeben und sie haben sich entschuldigt.

Bel hôtel, beaucoup de caractère. Seul hombre au tableau sale de bain et toilettes dans la chambre juste séparé par une porte vitrée, manque d’intimité. Le personnel efficace mais froid. Sinon nous avons passé un bon séjour.

Cama confortável, decoração e edifício agradáveis, boa localização. Secador do cabelo e imagem da televisão de baixa qualidade. Piscina pequena com altura constante mas suficiente para aproveitar o verão. Pequeno-almoço bom e funcionários simpáticos.
