It was a nice 5 day stay until the last morning. Then I saw a cockroach on the desk/table where I was sitting. I also had a non-smoking room right next to the breezeway where the employees smoked. Every time I went into my room it smelled faintly of cigarette smoke. I didn’t complain because I didn’t want to move rooms.

Ok room. The AC was super loud when it would kick on. It kept waking me up all night. The bed I was sleeping on was leaning on the top left side. I kept wondering why I was rolling to that side of the bed. We didn't use the TV. There is a small refrigerator, kept our drinks nice and cold. Shower was clean, and plenty of hot water. Over all, an ok stay.

The bedding was more clean than anything else in the room. Only very shallow cleaning was done in the carpet and bathroom. Gum was stuck to the AC unit and it was clear chairs weren't moved when cleaning. The toilet paper holder was falling out of the wall. The shower had a constant drip and the bathroom floors had not been properly cleaned in a while. Coffee supplies were present but there was no coffee maker. It wasn't the worst hotel I've stayed at but it was at least $30 too expensive.

In the middle of the night 1:35am we woke to a terrible thumping noise. We thought it was someone beating on the door but then thought it must be next door, then realized it was coming from our sink vanity area. Upon examination there was cold air coming from behind the mirror there also. Putting our phone up behind the mirror we saw that there was a big 12\"x10\" hole in the sheet rock to the pipes and insulation with air coming from we suppose the outside and blowing up the wall. We wedged a washcloth under the corner of the mirror to stop its banging on the wall. But shortly the noise started again. It was intermittent and very annoying keeping us awake for quite a while. We reported it to the front desk the next morning and they seemed unconcerned, just asking what room we were in. No apologies no we'll get on it to fix it, nothing. Then we went in to breakfast which went from 7-9 and found nothing in one of the serving dishes, 3 sausages in one and 1 biscuit in another. There was no milk for cereal which we asked about and the breakfast person went by us and in and out of the supply kitchen area with no comment or resupply. She never checked on the food or even walked out into the breakfast area. She had on stained clothes and left the building out the back door and returned once. The juice machine had an out of order sign on one juice. I tried to get orange juice and it spewed a foot out from the machine and all over the floor and onto me. No employees cared.

Upon check-in the room key would not open the door. Desk clerk checked it and said door mechanism defective and I was assigned a different room. After one successful try that key stopped working as well. Had both keys re-set and only one worked. Finally repacked all of my belongings and put them in car not knowing if I'd be able to access the room the following evening when I returned from a wedding.

I was very patient and kind with the staff after I was provided 3 dirty rooms, one I even asked the front desk to check first. I was “guaranteed” it was clean. And no, I was met by the cleaning staff and escorted to a 4th room. That was filled with the smell of cigarette smoke and burns on the side table. I no longer felt safe to stay here. I was told management would contact me for a refund, because I decided to go elsewhere. I’ve now been contacted they will not honor a refund. What terrible service, and experience.

Got around to getting a shower and the handle on the shower was broken completely off. She placed us in a third room, and there was a half smoked cigarrete on the desk. At this point we decided that we were going to skip the breakfast the next day because if the rooms were this big of a hassle, we could only imagine what the eggs would be like. Will never be back.

Disastrous: Major Security and Service Failures.

My partner and I booked a 4-night stay, but due to storm conditions, we arrived just after midnight for check-in. The experience that followed was unacceptable.

Upon arrival, the night staff was asleep & seemed disoriented. After getting our room key, we found that it didn’t work, requiring us to return to the front desk. Instead of proper assistance, we received vague hand gestures on how to operate the outdated door lock system.

When we finally managed to enter, we were shocked to find the room already occupied - the guest’s belongings were inside. Thankfully, no one was present, but the situation raised serious security concerns. Had someone been inside, the scenario could have been far worse. Given that we were in Alabama, where gun ownership is common, the thought of an accidental confrontation was unsettling.

After returning to the front desk, we were given the correct room, but it was outdated, unclean & poorly maintained. The shower drain was filthy, making it an uncomfortable experience; and the beds felt itchy. By then, we had already decided to check out the next morning and booked a nearby hotel instead.

Before leaving, we reported everything to the front desk. The staff apologized and promised to follow up regarding a potential refund after speaking with the owner. However, we never received a call, email, or refund—just another disappointment to end an already awful stay.

Serious improvements are needed in security, cleanliness & customer service.
