Great place to stay, staff were all very good, good breakfast both western and Chinese. Hotel offers free airport drop and pick up from morning to midnight. All local amenities opposite the hotel, very safe area. Would definitely come back and stay here.

What a beautiful hotel! I booked it because I thought it would be close to the airport. The shuttle isn’t as frequent, so check first with your schedule. Other than that, it’s a luxurious hotel in the middle of nowhere.

A proper Holiday Inn as you would expect it to. The hotel itself is nice. It has a gym and a swimming pool (you have to buy a swimming cap in order to use).
The area itself - not much to do, it's very far from the actual city, and from the airport too. So, basically, plan on staying just in the hotel and perhaps eat in one of the restaurants nearby, but that's about it.
About 30-40 minutes from the airport. More from the city (we didn't go - too much logistics :(

The Holiday Inn Airport Guangzhou is a hotel built on a grander scale than any Holiday Inn in the USA. Marble, marble everywhere. The rooms are adequate sized, very quiet and have everything you need in a hotel room. The multiple restaurants all serve good meals. The service personnel all try very hard and most speak English. The only negative I observed is that the place needs a deep cleaning in and out. We enjoyed our stay there and will return if we are in the area again.

Almost perfect, the breakfast is good the lady doing omelette eggs is incredible nice and she have the perfect touch, food is good, it was very difficult to find a clean or available table, the restaurant needs more people cleaning and preparing the tables for next guest. Deeply disappointed. The shuttle didn’t run past certain hours so my parents had to take a taxi to the property past midnight. Then once they got to the room they realized that the room wasn’t even cleaned. It took them forever to have a different room. Just a terrible night, didn’t really rest

This hotel is quite far from the airport. And if you have an early morning flight, then they do not have a shuttle bus available. Your only option is for the hotel to call you an over priced limo. There are no taxis or DiDi’s available early in the morning. In room safe did not work, and AC was broken. Also, the bathrooms don’t have shower doors, so when you take a shower the entire bathroom will be filled with water.

Firstly, I had to wait for 1 and half hours for their so called Airport "Courtesy" bus. I arrived on a flight at about 10 pm and did not get to the hotel until midnight despite phone calls etc made by me beforehand.

Everything is nice for a business stopover . Improvement in the front desk may be needed as we spent 30 mins queuing for checkout in the morning hour and saw only one staff serving over a dozen customers at that time , for both check-in and check-out.

But it only costs 100 yuan for a private taxi. After reading other reviews my suggestion is to just not worry about the airport to hotel shuttle. (the transfer by hotel shuttle from hotel to airport was perfect though).
Another issue was the service in the bar. I had ordered the afternoon high tea. I was served with a cup of tea straight away but the cakes and sandwiches did not materialize. Still had to pay a fortune for just one cup of tea though.

I thought the hotel is very near to the airport. It isn't. Its about 30 mins drive from the airport. But the hotel is quite OK for a short stay before a flight and the hotel staff were quite helpful in organizing a taxi at 4am in the morning (This was pre-booked the previous night because there are no waiting taxis around that early in the morning)
The inhouse Fresco Restaurant was actually closed for the night I was there - 18th April. Good thing is that they were taking orders in the bar for the food so I was quite OK. Meal portions were quite reasonable.

The hotel's location is not designed for using public transportation. Spending almost 45 minutes on check-in, and waiting 20 minutes for housekeeping and getting the room ready to get in. Hotel staffs aren't helpful and welcoming.

The room was spacious and well decorated. A comfortable stay in the room. The front desk confirmed we have 2 breakfast and wrote it down on the check-in letter. But in the morning the buffet doesn't let us in for breakfast and said our room doesn't have breakfast. Finally they let us walk through the breakfast area to pack some to-go food, which was ok to us.

I was very satisfied with my room and the facilities. Most of the staff spoke English and the shuttle bus to the airport was a big plus for me. I would have wanted the bed to be a bit softer but other than that it was a good experience. Make sure to make reservations with the hotel for the shuttle bus in advance.

2. Then looking for the exit gate No.16 (if you can't find it, just ask someone around)
3. Then go out, and cross the road to the second footpath.
4. Just stand there and wait. No need find the van, because it will come on time. (Ex. 13:58 - 14:01)
5. If you can't find it, just call the hotel.
6. Shuttle will take around 20-30mins to hotel.
7. Van will come every hour.
8. Van outside is coverd by Holiday Inn poster (van in white, poster is green)
9. Have a nice trip. A hotel is good to stay. Superb new and clean.

Terrible location and total kindergarten
The hotel itself is ok because it's new but the maintenance is terrible. The restroom at lobby got urine everywhere from the toilet to the ground - it was probably caused by the kids but no cleaner tried to deal with it.
At the meantime, the hotel is far away from the airport, about 25min drive (from airport to city centre is around 40-45min drive). And it is very inconvenient to go to the city, the taxi company refused us and not even in uber's service area. The reception tried to sell us some private driver from nearby neighbourhood for 300rmb, which was almost the price of hotel room.

Great Stay. Free Airport Shuttle
A quick note on how to get to the shuttle when arriving at the airport. I went up the escalator by the exit which took me to the food and check in area. There are "gates" (or exits) around the perimeter. Look for gate 16 at one of the far corners. The shuttle was a small van which comes on the top of the hour from 7:00am-midnight. Stand on the median as the shuttle will stop on the far street rather than the one closest to the doors. It says Holiday-Inn in small letters so be alert.
Overall the stay was great. Fantastic value and one of the best rooms I've stayed at. I was only there overnight due to a long layover. Comfy bed, spacious room, and the bathroom had a shower and separate tub. Highly recommend staying here. The shuttle takes a bit (20 mins?) to get to the hotel as it is not necessarily right next to the airport.I will definitely stay here next time I'm in town and hope I have time to take the train from the airport to Canton Tower.

Holiday Inn Airport Guangzhou is above the level of standard set in Holiday Inn itself, only matter is this hotel is pretty far from everywhere. Other than this matter, everything is thumbs up, staff service are all direction from coneige, reception, restaurant , maybe not total convenience for english speaker.
As a half Chinese, I find I am totally comfortable for their arraignment during the special season in Canton Fair. One further things want to mentioned here, is appreciate their restaurant chef service as one of my colleague are veggie, they special make for him breakfast and dinner buffet a veggie noodle, just 1 dish for him whenever we request.
Thanks a lot for their service and foods in buffets are good quality too.
As a half Chinese, I find I am totally comfortable for their arraignment during the special season in Canton Fair. One further things want to mentioned here, is appreciate their restaurant chef service as one of my colleague are veggie, they special make for him breakfast and dinner buffet a veggie noodle, just 1 dish for him whenever we request.

My first stay, the taxi drove me around for two hours and tried to scam me, when the trip takes less than 20 minutes from the airport and should cost no more than RMB 25. He tried to charge me 100. I refused to pay anything, and the hotel settled with him for 50 (I got them on the phone, and they gave poor directions to the cab after we'd been driving around for an hour.)
The hotel is nice, the staff are good; I'm not fond of the restaurant, I found the staff their abrupt, and the food is average. There are NO suitable food establishments nearby, however; the area is new and not yet well developed. Breakfast at the restaurant was fine, though.

This was a pleasant surprise. The hotel is a little off the beaten path, but it is very nice with great rooms at a very reasonable price. I paid double for similar amenities at other hotels in Guangzhou and in Taipei.

This is a 5 Star Hotel. Definitely the nicest Holiday Inn I have ever seen. The Hotel is only a year old and is first rate in every category. I would highly recommend it.

Highly recommend for proximity, and economic stay
It was difficult to get a taxi to go to that specific Hoilday Inn (but that was more an issue with taxis wanting to overcharge). The drive to the hotel is a bit dark and seemingly remote but after about 20 minutes you appear in a little town which has alot of condos and little local shops. The Holiday Inn is in the middle of all of this and the hotel itself is magnificent from the outside and the lobby and the rooms just as impressive. the staff are very friendly and attentive. The breakfast was okay, you have more than enough choice to find something. There is also a free shuttle to Guangzhou airport which leaves every hour so thats convenient. I would recommend this hotel if you wanna stay relatively close to the airport for one night and pay a decent rate. There is also a free shuttle from the airport but I had a bit of trouble finding it so took the taxi in the end. (Apparently in domestic terminal 2, stop 15)

2nd time staying here. First time was due to a work conference, second time was because my other hotel gave away my room so with no other option nearby I reluctantly chose this place. It's a decent holiday inn with comfortable rooms but it isn't very close to the airport, although they claim to be an airport hotel. Nothing in the surrounding neighborhood either. On the positive side there is a free hourly shuttle to the airport every hour on the dot.

This hotel is very close to the airport. The hotel is very clean, but the breakfast was a bit overpriced for what it has to offer. The rooms are roomy and comfortable. The staff is quite friendly.
It has a shuttle that go from the airport to the hotel and vice versa. However, you must look out for it. It is super on time, it is better if you go to Airport Exit 16 5 -10 mins before the hour to wait for the shuttle. The shuttle, however, does not take the highway to the airport, but local roads, so it takes 30 mins instead of 10 mins if you use the shuttle. You can then take the subway all the way to the city, which is about an hour.
At that price that I paid, I think it is quite ok.

As nice as the pictures
The hotel opened in January 2015. We stayed there in December. It is clean, comfortable and has the unusual feature of being as nice in person as in the promotional photos. The neighborhood also seems to be newly constructed, and not finished yet. Across the street is a shopping and dining development about to open. We would love to stay there again.
