The best stay of our trip. Such a great place and everyone was helpful and made everything easy. The Sunday night dinner and live music was the best meal I can remember. We’ll be booking in the next time we’re at Thredbo!

Lodge has a real feel of a lodge - as there is lots of wood panelling. No issue with lodge. Thredbo is quiet during Feb. We had a really good view of the mountain.

Room was quite satisfactory ... Clean spacious and tiny bathroom but quite functional.Loved the European accent and a nod to yesteryear when Candlelight was started back when Thredbo was a fledgling snow village and the snow fields were being built.
Was a bit annoyed that the parking wasnt on site or close by luckily the weather was ok so waking back up the hill was ok but in snow or rain this would be a challenge!
Parking space 4 would be the idea place if nothing on site but its first in first served ...maybe Candlelight should reserve some there too.

When I made the booking through Wotif, the room was advertised as a “quadruple room” with two double beds, suitable for four guests. However, upon arrival, we were provided with a room containing only two single beds, accommodating just two people.
This is a clear misrepresentation of the booking details, and I am extremely disappointed. The staff at the lodge advised that such discrepancies are common with Wotif bookings, noting that your platform frequently provides inaccurate or misleading information.
This situation has caused considerable inconvenience and falls well short of acceptable standards. I am requesting a prompt explanation and appropriate resolution. If this matter is not addressed satisfactorily, I will consider seeking legal advice regarding the misrepresentation and its impact on our stay.

A Thredbo haven

Candlelight Lodge may not be up there with their more modern competitors but it does have character and comfort in spades. Well located with just a short stroll to the Village and marvellous views from all the bedrooms. An added bonus is the cooked breakfast and cosy pub located on the bottom level. Staff are welcoming and accommodating.

I absolutely love this place and it pains me to not be able to give 5 stars across the board, but the reality is they did not service our room once and the wifi didn’t work. It’s still absolutely awesome though, the staff are great and the restaurant and bar are literally among my favourites in the world! At $500 a night though, you should really make up the rooms like you say you do on the door.

Great cosy place to stay, loved the older style, it had everything available and was clean , bus stop right out the front. Beautiful view of mountain. Beds were very comfy. Bathroom modern and nice and clean, with a bath! Heater in rooms. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay again.

A cozy hotel with great views.

This hotel is a cozy B&B. It is a little dated, but the room was very nice. The restaurant was convenient and had quality food. The included breakfast was the best! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The ski shuttle picks up right in front of the hotel and runs most of the day. The biggest downside was the internet not working, and the closest public parking was at the bottom of the hill, nearly a mile away.

Staff were all lovely, the details on hotels.com is very incorrect - no welcome drinks, breakfast not included, not a top floor room - someone needs to update this - it did influence my choice in hotel so was disappointing to be told it’s incorrect. The room is pretty rundown and daggy - the shower curtain and grout need a seriously good clean. Heaps of pillows and blankets which is good. The bar is outdoors and directly below the rooms and is sooo annoyingly loud - must have been 20-30 loud drunk people there until midnight - sounded like they were in our room - last night was not a good sleep. Restaurant was awesome!!

Very welcoming, friendly place. Immediately, they assisted us with the bicycle transport for our non-circuit, multi-day bike tour. The house may be relatively old, but very well maintained; the rooms generously large; we enjoyed the balcony with the panoramic view, and overlooking their terrace, the afternoon live band music added to the holiday feeling; ahh, and don't miss out on the, by far and between, largest selection of German beers.

Terrible. They double-booked our room and bumped us. Apparently it happens a bit at candlelight. We got sent to another (cheaper) hotel. We weren’t told about it at all. They were just going to wait till we turned up but the other hotel rang asking where we were because they had the wrong dates. Don’t stay here!

The room has comfortable beds for all but there were small shards of broken glass on the carpet which the cleaners missed. My son cut his foot while walking on the carpet.

They also left out a few comfort items like tissues, tea and coffee.

Stunning views, service and hospitality

Our family of four stayed here during our visit to Thredbo and we could not be more happier with our accomodation.
During a quieter time of the year, the managers were extremely friendly and made our a stay a warm one.
The lodge has an authentic German/Austrian feel and is located in a convenient location with easy access to the chair lifts and restaurants.
Breakfast was perfect with freshly baked croissants each morning. We were privileged to indulge in a cheese fondue experience! An absolute must when you stay here.
We will definitely stay here again when we return!

Staying at Candlelight Lodge was very relaxing. The staff were friendly and laid back. The continental breakfast was excellent, setting us up nicely for our energetic activities at Thredbo. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious, and we were only disappointed by the fact that it was not open every night, due to it being off season.
Our room was very spacious, with plenty of room to spread out. The view from the balcony, across the valley, was lovely.
The lodge is well located, a short walk to the Village Square and the Kosciuszko Express chairlift. We would recommend Candlelight Lodge to anyone, and would happily stay there again.

The first lodge on the slope and it shows. Whilst the Management do their best to keep it clean, it needs a lot of work. The beds are good and it’s nice and roomy is overall not too bad.
The Management are amazing and for a very small fee they collected us from Wildnurmbys after a few too many snapps

Convenient Cosy place in the main village

This ski lodge was one of the first built in Thredbo. As such it is not what you would call \"modern\" but rather charming and cosy.
My Family and I stayed here for a few nights and found it to be comfortable and warm. Great restaurant downstairs that serves European style foods such as fondue ( both cheese and chocolate) giant steak ( try 1kg ribeye \"tomahawk\" its good but pricey) schnitzel etc. Great selection of european beers. It was very convenient to the shuttle bus just outside the front door.
Downsides are that it was a bit dated. Hallways felt a bit cramped and the walls weren't well insulated so we could hear the guests walking outside on the wooden stairs and also the music from downstairs bar at night. There are only three car spots for the entire lodge so don't expect to have your own spot next to the lodge you will need to park in the overnight carpark which can mean its hard to use your car during your stay.
The family that runs the lodge were very warm and helpful. The price was average compared to other places in the thredbo village.

Awesome staff and magnificent view in the balcony

Staffs were friendly and helpful. Made an extra mile to direct and help us around with the parking lot. The manager even explained a brief history on how long the hotel was built and reason out why there aren’t a lot of parking spaces out there. Room was perfect with a scenic balcony view. Room was clean, cosy and comfy. Will definitely head back there again! Thanks Pablo and team!

Lovely Lodge. Location is perfect in the heart of Thredbo. A parking spot depends on your luck if the place is full. Breakfast offered impressed. There is a cold buffet and you can also order the hot options that is served plated. Room is very clean and presentable. The only disappointment was a faulty on the hot water electric system. We did not shower for a couple of days however the sauna showers had the hot water and it was never mentioned to us to use as an option. We have heard of it only 2 days after by another guest.

Family oriented mountain lodge in walking distance of the amenities and the chair lift. Very helpful staff went far to help us feeling comfortable. Spacey room with shower over bath tub and access to shared balcony with a 'million dollars' mountain view. Nice restaurant and outdoor seating area and decorations. WiFi was working most of the time. Some furniture and carpets were dated but functional. Reasonable night rates. Will come again.

I stayed with my 86 yo Aunt. Chose because I understood self parking at hotel and bar restaurant. Parking was too far for her to walk (tradesmen/staff took 3 spaces onsite) and bar/restaurant closed until winter. I feel Expedia description is misleading.

Perfect Thredbo Lodge 4 clumbing Kosciuszko

Cozy, quaint, charming lodge full of character. GREAT hot showers, hearty continental breakfast and super helpful staff. We were lucky enough to be there when the owner, John, was there. We wanted to see Kangaroos; John had sprained his ankle running the Merrits Nature Trail but still drove us twenty kilometers to a meadow at dawn to see a whole crowd of kangaroos. Trish took great care of our house keeping needs and had a neat play list for music at breakfast.

We there overnight in summer. The hotel needs a lot of TLC. The restaurant and bar weren’t operating. We had to find overnight parking which wasn’t easy. It does overlook the ski fields and maybe better in winter for skiers.

Great position for summer or winter getaway with fantastic views of the mountains.
Clean & comfortable rooms but very old.
TV didn't work at all downstairs & couldn't get DVD player or Xbox to work upstairs. Usually this wouldn't matter but weather was bad so would have been handy.

When we arrived at Candlelight we were greeted by Maddy ( Manager) who was extremely helpful. She showed us all around the lodge and made us feel welcome and right at home.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nice with a sensational view of Thredbo. Just Devine.
Throughout our stay for Cannonball Maddy was always asking if there was anything we needed or was there any information we needed. Thank you Maddy

Nice public lodge in Thredbo Village. Alison and the staff were very friendly, and the full cooked breakfasts made a good start to each day's skiing. Restaurant and bar facilities in house. Located a short down hill walk from the village centre, also has the free bus stop outside the front door so access to and from the Valley Terminal and Friday Flat too easy.
