The room was clean. The lady at the front desk allowed us to eat our lunch in the breakfast area before checking in that day. We were loading the contents of a storage unit across the street into a moving van and needed a place to eat some leftovers. She was so kind to let us eat in comfort. My elderly dad needed some nail clippers and she provided a pair. The breakfast was good. They allowed us to fill our cooler for the long trip that day.

I wanted to give this hotel a better review because the staff were very friendly and pleasant. However I could not overlook some concerns I had. I was placed in a room that was a designated room for people who had pets. The woman at the desk asked if I had a pet and I said no. She informed me my room was a designated pet room and unfortunately she couldnt move me. The odor of the room was unpleasant. I went and bought airfreshner but still the room stunk. I could hear conversations as well as snoring in the room next to mine. There is not much to chose from in Jerseyville IL but next time I will drive the extra 15 min and pay 20.00 more in Alton for a better place. The chair in my room was old and worn out. The heater made an unusual whirring sound which was annoying. The only real good I can say is that the staff were pleasant. The hotel needs some updating desperately. If you are going to stay here make sure you tell them you dont want a room pets have stayed in unless of course you have a pet.

I was glad to hear that they was fixing the hotel up but we had a single queen room with only 2 bath towels and when we asked the front desk for an extra towel we was told that policy was only 2 towels per bed so if you are a woman staying with you significant other you mite want to bring your own towels for your hair

Decent for the price

For the price this was a decent stay. All the staff were friendly and professional. Joe was especially helpful. The room could use some updating. The bed was comfortable. Conversations in the next room could be heard walls kind of thin bit overall no loud experiences.

Being on a walker the whole staff was right there to help with anything I could need from opening doors in and out to showing me how to work the tv and bringing my luggage in and out, they were all so kind and polite! But we couldn’t find the pool?

The staff was very pleasant, helpful and friendly. The room's Air Conditioner was very loud -and made a lot of noise- and then it sort of whined and sputtered each time it ended a cycle. The TV had operational issues. A staff member, Lee, kindly came up and spent about 20 minutes getting the TV to work. She couldn't do anything about the elevator-(but, it needed fixing and was going to report it to maintenance). The breakfast options were very nice. And the corn field surroundings were charming.

We booked a non smoking room and had to stay in a smoking room as they had nothing else available. The front desk clerk was kind and offered some air freshener but was not helpful in getting rid of the thick smoky odor. Needless to say did not sleep well.

Not Disability friendly, policy to sign for service animals and placed in a \"pet designated\" room which usually smells like pee and poop. ADA Federal law FORBIDS as a service animal is not a pet, and in no way should a disabled person be required to stay in any different accommodations than a regular individual. So i was charged for staying in a non-pet friendly room. Its been turned over to the Illinois persons with disabilities act. Further more, i came and went with my dog on my shoulder pouch for two days, no one had the courtesy to call and ask if i had a dog, one of the managers tried to force her way into my room clearly marked \"Do Not Disturb\" with an extra latch on, thank goodness as i was half dressed. She stated she needed to check the room, i was mortified and asked if she saw the sigh... very low class, uninformed and tacky individuals. I've stayed at the Ritz and never had one question, no declaration, no signatures, and never ever relegated to a Pet Friendly room as my animal is AKC Regestered Service and therapy.. not a fly by night fake by any means. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Plus there was no chair in the room, the desk was tacky, the drain on the sink was malfunctioning and the bathtub plug did not work.

We got the large room with 3 queen sized beds. The room was okay. Not the best quality, not the most clean. The biggest problem was the air conditioning in our room wasn't working. So it was VERY hot. They offered to move us to another room, but it would only be two queen beds. We needed the 3 and has paid for 3.

Upon check in the over night was rude to my husband because “I couldn’t run my night audit because of you”. My husband called earlier in the evening to let the hotel know that we would be late and she sounded very irritated with him and said, “Well no one told me that.” The next night I had my interaction with her. I asked if we could get a couple more towels because there were only 3 in the room. We had 4 guest staying. She gave me attitude and Asked if I had the dirty towels with me. We had just walked in from being gone all day, so no I didn’t have the dirty towels with me. She grudgingly gave me two more towels, which was needed since no one cleaned the room that day. The next morning after I showered, I reused the towels and then took them down and got a couple more fresh ones. At some point that second day, house keeping came in and replaced the floor mat. That’s it. Beds were not made the second day either. There was absolutely nothing on the beds to prevent them from being made.
I have always stayed at this hotel when I have been in Jerseyville and after this experience, I’m considering finding a different hotel. The over night person, just really made it an uncomfortable experience.

Overall our experience was good. Room was spacious and clean. Service was good. It is only the small details that keep me from rating this higher. Slight odor in the room. Patch work around the window that was incomplete. Badly mismatched paint on other repairs made the room feel in worse condition than it was. None of these would keep me from staying again, the small details just lower the overall feeling and experience.

The stay was good except for the flea we saw on the bed. Apparently, the occupants before we got there had a dog with them. The dog had fleas and left some of the fleas in the room. We asked that the linens be changed and the room cleaned. Unfortunately, we took some fleas home. I immediately washed all of our clothes and thankfully, they are gone. Other then that, the stay was good.

Clean well-kept property. Internet was flakey. Out both mornings. When I told front desk person Sat morning her response “I don’t know what to tell you.” (!!!) When we pointed out that the info sheet in room said if there internet problems to call front desk & they’d get the 24/7 support on it, she said “I guess I can reboot the router.” Which worked. Happened again next morning & when I told front desk that person said “oh, ok - I’ll reboot the router.” Overall though everyone was nice and helpful. Very close to a great diner (Nicks) for breakfast, and a Walmart Super Center and other retail. Would stay again.

Usually this hotel is ok, but this time it was terrible. They gave me a room on the ground floor right next to the elevator and the lobby. I couldn't sleep at all in the room, I could hear everything from the elevator, lobby, etc. The desk person was having conversations with people and watching TV a bit loudly at 3am, and I could hear everything clear as day. When I tried to explain I was dissatisfied with the room and ask for a partial refund from the morning manager Jesse (I think...), she LITERALLY yelled at me, talked over me, kind of chastised me for not switching rooms in the middle of the night, and eventually threw my receipt on the counter and told me if I didn't leave she would call the police. Even though I was calm the entire time and was just trying to negotiate a partial refund because the room was unusable. It was probably the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel, and I'd like at least a partial refund, and I will never stay at this hotel again.

It wasn't where I expected when I made the reservation. My fault entirely, as I had put in Missouri and Super 8 was actually in Illinois (within 15 miles of the city I had input). But what a delightful \"wrong\" turn. Nice drive there, and the directions out led me thru a nice neighborhood and eventually riding alongside the Mississippi River.
