It would have been nice to have coffee in the lobby in the morning so that you can sit in the large number of comfortable places and enjoy a quiet morning. Especially with the room with the roaring fire.
We wanted to know if we could order wine and sit in one of the lovely rooms but it must have gotten lost in translation.

The actual hotel is stunning. Built like a castle, warm, comfortable and beautiful. However, there is literally nothing to do around it except several fairly difficult hikes. No wifi, small little pool. It would be a romantic place to unplug and unwind, but for kids or as a base to explore, no.

We come here often, it's one of our favorite getaway hotels. It has a great pool and garden, it benefits from a fantastic view and is close to nice natural river pools and walking trails. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good, Lunch and dinner are served on a beautiful outdoor terrace, but regrettably the food could be better, especially for the price, and there are no good restaurant options close by.

On the negative side, the SPA usage is not included in the price and would have make the overall cost more expansive than any other hotels we visited. That should be more clearly indicated on hotels.com

This is in a so sweat out of the way location... Total contrast to the cities and traffic in Portugal? Delightful staff and a very very satisfactory restaurant.

Wonderful renovation boutique hotel in mountains. The restaurant was fabulous and hotel was artfully renovated. Worth the trip just for the views. As most of the reviews, the serious was so-so. Don't expect the same customer service as you would a small B&B.
