The Hotel Die Barbara is a cosy bed and breakfast hotel with perfect and friendly service in a central location in Schladming, directly opposite the Planai cable-car station and Europe’s largest apres ski bar. All rooms are comfortably furnished with modern solid-wood furniture.
We offer heated ski and ski boot lockers and a 200 m2 sauna area (bio sauna, Finnish sauna, aroma steam bath, Kneipp basin). As a Sommercard partner hotel, you can use certain services free of charge (Planai cable car, ride to the Dachstein glacier, all buses and toll roads, all swimming lakes, etc.).

The room was not very clean, the furniture had stains all over, the white comforter was off white. All the furniture was sticky in the room which made our skin very itchy. They start the introduction to the property trying to sell you a time share promotion, the resort is huge but hard to find things

This resort exceeded my expectations. The rooms were clean, the hotel staff extremely helpful and the food was amazing. Couldn’t get over the view from Azure restaurant especially for breakfast. So many areas to explore and there was live entertainment most nights. The only thing is that the Crane beach had a lot of seaweed but it still didn’t take away from the relaxing atmosphere and amazing views. I would definitely stay here again.

The room lacked essential amenities for our stay, specifically kitchen items such as a toaster, pots, and pans. We were accommodated in a studio on the ground floor. The staff demonstrated a pleasant demeanor. I left several notes for specific staff members at the front desk, which have not yet been delivered to the intended recipients. I found the text-based communication system from the front desk and hub to be highly effective, as it facilitated quick and easy resolution of issues without the need for a physical visit to the front desk or a phone call.Over all our stay was good.Should have a compensation for returning guest.We can stay many places in Barbados but we chose the Crane..

The cleanliness of the pools was a concern, and we recommend improvements in this area, though the adult pool was marginally cleaner. Anthony, the bellboy, consistently recognizes guests, demonstrating an impressive recall for individuals. Heather, from the groundskeeping team, consistently exhibits a friendly and positive demeanor. Lana, at the general store, provides warm and welcoming service. These individuals are a primary factor in our continued patronage. We also appreciate the excellent live music and the daily shuttle service to Carlisle Beach. The jerk barbecue on Wednesday in the courtyard was superb. These aspects represent significant positive attributes of the establishment.
During our stay, we occupied two different studio accommodations. The second studio was noticeably older, with several non-functional amenities. Furthermore, the room was missing essential appliances and cookware. We recommend that management conduct thorough inspections to ensure all studio accommodations are fully equipped with necessary items and that all appliances are in working order. For instance, the non-operational coffeemaker was a source of frustration.

We had a room with our own pool and ocean views. We really enjoyed our large patio. As one of us is vegan it was great to have our own kitchen. The yoga class was excellent. Zen restaurant has very good sushi and Thai food. We will definitely come again.

The bed was too soft for me that it gave me back pain. I had to sleep on the sofa just so my back wouldn’t hurt. Otherwise the resort have everything needed. If staying longer better to do some groceries first and stack up on some drinks and chips. But they do have a general store where you can buy this as well. It’s like a mini village.

Rooms were nice and staff was friendly. Property was fine. They are definitely on vacation time as meals are slow (2+ hours for a meal). The restaurants leave a bit to be desired. Poesia was not great at all - probably the worst meal in our party we had in the whole island and the worst Italian. The place is new but the chef is trying to be too creative with limited access to ingredients. A few people had a shrimp dish with tomatoes and no-one had tomatoes in it. Azure is okay - mediocre. If you want good meals, you have to go off the Crane property to restaurants along the coast.

The downsides are: we were only here one night, and one of the main restaurants was closed, so we chose the other, and the food was not very good. None of the advertised extras like welcome drink or bottles of water were provided. And the 10am check-out time, despite having arranged for a 1pm checkout upon reception, was a surprise!

A lot closed down in the run up to the start of “the season” as ever present construction underway at the Crane (didn’t distrurb otherwise) and some restaurants onsite closed.

While resort older rooms beautifully appointed and large. We stayed in a one bedroom with pool oceanview it was spectacular. Due to time in year late October we lost the sun in our pool around 1 pm so retreated to the larger pools fur the afternoon. Coming back in may 2026

The morning of my departure I called ahead at 7:00 am to arrange a buggy to collect my suitcases and bring to the front desk for 07:45, only to be told in the most abrupt and rude manner, no staff are available until 8:00 - I can call our security team and see if their WANT to do it!

When first arrived at the property there was no one to greet me. The first desk attendant seemed disengaged. He was not rude but he was not pleasant either. The first room I was given was dirty and had mold throughout. There was a large construction project happening during my stay. Once my room was changed I did not have hot water for two days. One of those days there was no water at all. They reported that there was a water main break to the whole property. The A/C unit in the living room never worked. I reported and they never came to fix it. The showers had soap scum on them and the mirrors were extremely dirty. The entire property was unkept and needs a massive overhaul. Only on restaurant was open and there is not many choices of restaurants off the property. Taxi service is extremely expensive. I had to pay more in taxi fees than what my meal would cost once I was taken to a restaurant. This was my worst travel experience in my whole life and I travel often. Your company rates this hotel as an 4.4 star resort and it is not. I will be writing to corporate to see what can be done. I arranged this trip for my significant others birthday. This was an epic failure. I can’t express enough how disappointed I am for booking this trip based off of the recommendations I received from your website. I will never book through this site again if Orbitz does not make this rite. Extremely disappointed, unsatisfied, frustrated, and heartbroken

A lovely resort, a bit secluded so book if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle. The beach waves were a little rough, but the views are breathtaking. Staff were very helpful and friendly. I’d return here.

The Crane is an amazing property! The grounds are lush with trees, plants, and flowers. The accommodations are stunning, I felt like I was in my own home rather than a hotel. The employees are warm, friendly and polite- much appreciated. Crane beach itself is gorgeous and the swimming pools are top notch. Food and drinks are excellent. Please do not hesitate to book a trip here, it’s a stunner of a place on many different levels! I stayed at the end of September and it was not busy which for me added to the peace and relaxation of being there. They say “ you’ll know” when you stay there, it’s true - you will.

PROS: The room was great with a rooftop pool. Old world charm prevails even in the more modern aesthetic suites. The service was highlighted by Ms. Donna at the front who is great at her job, asking the right questions to direct various service inquiries and laughing with me at my attempt to have cou cou delivered to the resort. The room attendant Nadia not only did a great job cleaning our room, she provided valuable and much needed 'island tips and advice' when asked. Her service and friendliness went above and beyond what was required of her, she should be commended. CONS: The elevator in the 3000 building was not working and no help moving our luggage up and down to the top floor, this was not good. AC was dripping on desk where work laptop was - insurance claim was averted but could have been prevented entirely. Disappointing beach for that level of property which was otherwise well maintained. Food options and food pricing need to be modified for current traveler market and better uptake of daily onsite food offerings relevant to proximity to main town or other food alternatives since infrastructure provides equipped kitchens. OVERALL: We were there to attend a wedding which beautiful and enhanced by seaside ambiance and natural grounds beauty

The Crane was beautiful and I would've loved to have given it 5 stars but for the 3 nights we were there, we took ice cold showers for 2 nights. We reported it and the next day we got a message that the engineering team had fixed it but it was just as cold as before. It was never fixed. I've stayed in less nicer hotels and I've always taken hot showers. Disappointed!
