Beautiful hotel, a real asset when visiting Bielefeld. Gorgeous combination of heritage and future hospitality. Enjoyed the location, the modern lobby spaces, quick check-in, uncomplicated yet again memorable, maybe a welcome beverage in the lobby would be nice just to top the luxurious premium experience one has come to expect from a Steigenberger property. My warm was very comfortable, modern, very good air-conditioning, bedding and the huge TV, nice hairdryer in the bathroom. Also amenities in the bathroom could be better including a comb and toothbrush & paste. The complimentary mineral waters are a welcome touch, a welcome note was on the other side literally missing and would certainly enhance the positive hospitality received. Loved my dinner & drinks in the Essbar, and the breakfast is very nice too, also the placement of seating spaces should receive renewed thought since it can get rather full in the Palmengarten. One would also wish that there's an ala carte choice at breakfast too to round up the premium feel of the experience. Overall, a beautiful hotel, very friendly service and location too direct across the central train station. As for me, I recommend the hotel wholeheartedly and would love to stay with you again in the future. Warm Greetings.

Staff in reception were very helpful, but there was an event ongoing which made the bar area very noisy.
Breakfast was very busy and we had to queue for sometime to get service.

Very impressive hotel with expansive and well appointed rooms. Could only be closer to station if it were in it. Some may find this a slight negative with a room on the station side as the platform announcements are audible and frequent. Get the buffet breakfast, it is worth every euro!

Nice hotel at the main train station which was ideal located to the exhibition hall next door. Though I came by car but many participants arrived by train and stayed in the hotel. Unfortunately, the rooms towards the train station are much more affected by street noise/ cleaning but that was factored in.

Lovely hotel and conveniently location by the station. Nice staff and facilities, and rooms are top notch.
My only concerns were there were a number of homeless And intimidating Islamic people near the hotel and I didn’t feel safe, I was approached by a few trying to get money and they were Very rude. It was also very noisy on the second night of my stay

Best Hotel in Bielefeld

This is truly a fabulous hotel. The room was totally quiet, even though we looked at the busy train station. I want windows like that for my own house! The room is spacious and super clean. The bed was wonderful. If you want a king-size bed, book it in advance. Healthy food just steps away in a little kiosk, we did not go to the restaurant but it looked great. Add to that the convenience of being right at the train station in the city center. We will be back!

We decided to stay here because of its proximity to the train station. We had tickets to the tennis tournament in Halle for two days and knew that we could go by public transportation from Bielefeld.The front desk staff was welcoming when we arrived at about 7pm, spoke excellent English and was very helpful with suggestions for dinner in the old town. We enjoyed a walk around and had an excellent Italian dinner at a restaurant in the old town. The public areas in the hotel were beautiful, with coffee and tee available self-service in the lobby even though we had chosen not to have breakfast included with our room. The room was large, clean and comfortable, with a great shower and nice bathroom. Wifi was great and solid. Through no fault of the hotel - the public transportation to the tennis stadium in Halle wasn't as great as advertised, because only one bus or train was running per hour following the regular schedule even during the high attendance period for the tennis tournament. The resulting crowds far exceeded the capacity of either the bus or the train in both directions during the most popular hours of attendance. We lucked out by being where the vehicle doors opened on 3 of our 4 trips between the hotel and the stadium. On the 4th trip, we shared a taxi back to the hotel with another hotel guest who called back to the hotel to arrange for a taxi to come pick us up. I would heartily recommend this hotel!

Back in Bielefeld

Bielefeld is not a big tourist town and the hotel pickings are slim. I lived here for a year 30 years ago, and the hotel at that time had been closed for years, so it was neat to see it open and occupied. The location is very convenient if you are arriving by train (the parking garage is small and cramped). The hotel rooms here are typical of Europe - small, but adequate. Service was good - friendly and efficient from check-in to checkout. Breakfast buffet was very good.

Nice choice in a small town.

Overall, it is a good hotel in a small town with not many choices. Area is not great at night. Rooms seem good. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Very convenient with the Train stations across the street. The only odd thing is the room I had had a water bed. Never knew they still existed.

Great stay. Many restaurants within walking distance and I used the fitness center nearby several times during my stay. They have an agreement with a local gym and it was better than any hotel gym. It is 10 euro per use. Will be back for work and will stay here again

Lovely hotel, helpful staff and complementary Danishes and water/juice in the lobby which was great as we arrived very late and was a bit hungary. The room was very spacious and clean. Another bottle of complementary water in the room. Easy to find the hotel if you're not familiar with the area. Very pleased with the hotel and would stay again. We had breakfast across the street as we didn't want to pay 19 euros each for breakfast when we were in a rush to get on the road.

Cleanliness issue marred otherwise pleasant stay.

There were black hairs and a faint lipstick mark on one of my large towels and more black hairs in the dish that held the face clothes. Otherwise, the hotel was convenient and the room spacious. Only other complaint was that the wifi was not password protected.

Nice hotel, service was excellent - they went out of their way to get us a fan when the AC was not too cold in the middle of the summer. On the flip side the area is a little rough, for a big guy like me it was not a problem but for a single female it might be a little intimidating.

The hotel was lovely, high quality and a stones throw from the station which is what we needed. But for over 200AUD a night it was seriously over priced! The other issue we had was that we went up the lift then had to drag our bags up about 6-7 stairs it get to our room. A hotel like this should not make you carry bags upstairs! Also the wifi cost which was the only place in Europe we stayed that did.

My family and I stayed in Bielefeld for six days after a 30 year gap. Bielefeld had changed little and the location of the hotel was perfect for exploring all the sights of Bielefeld. We ventured to the sparrenburg, often ate at Knigger, saw the Kunsthalle exhibition, the deer park and the house of my grandmother. The highlight of our stay was visiting our relatives. The hotel was in the perfect position no distance to catch the train and a few minutes from the town centre. A perfect few days and the only complaint was it was too short and flew by.

The hotel is large, comfortable, reasonably priced with a good restaurant and pleasant outdoor seating space for cocktails. It's literally across the street from the train station, and though not in the very pleasant old town, it's a 10 minute walk away on a busy shopping street filled with clothing and other types of stores. The staff is terrific and very helpful - I had an issue with a temporarily lost passport and they could not have done more for me. Their English was excellent and they were truly friendly. It was hot, and they even had pitchers of ice water with cucumber (refreshing!) in the lobby.

OK - Convenient for Train Travel

This hotel is great if you are traveling by train as it is directly across from the Bielefeld Hbf. I had room service both nights and the food was good and an OK value (for hotel room service). Where this hotel fell short was the service. I was put into a room with broken climate control. I arrived late on the first night and did not discover until too late to do anything about it. The next morning I spoke with the front desk and was told it would be fixed. I got back to the hotel late on day 2 and it still was not fixed. Two bad nights sleep because of how warm the room was. I was comped parking the next day but 12 EUR does not make up for two nights of poor sleep

Breakfast at 17 Euros is I feel too expensive, when you can walk a short distance and get an excellent choice of breakfast far cheaper. Overnight car parking at the Hotel at 13 Euros a night is I think worth the money as your vehicle is in a secure environment and important if you are using a Hire car. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful.
