I called at 9:30am to inquire about early check in as I had a five hour drive Elijah said 1:30 would be okay
I got to the hotel at 1:45 and was told by Breanna that he was in training and they don’t offer early check in to sit in my car until 3.
When I did check in whoever it was is not friendly and the whole process was stale and awkward.
I got to my room on the second floor after walking two hallways and taking the stairs because this facility has no elevator and they of course out my right next to the stairs door so all I heard all night was bang bang bang.
On top of that there was a hole in my ceiling that a spider was hanging out in, cobwebs behind the bed, the shower was dirty, I spilled some lemonade so I wiped up the floor and surrounding area and the rag came up black. It was gross.
Good thing I brought my own linens as well and the pillows are garbage.
If you can pick anywhere else please do so.

I stayed here for my son's orientation at Ohio University and knew not to expect much but was told by a friend rooms were clean. And they were clean. If you need a very very basic place for a night, it's fine, as long as you aren't too picky. The room is sparse. The vanity is not a regular bathroom countertop and very small and the sink is low. The lighting was bad, I needed to do some work and had to take the lampshade off the light so I could see. The bedside lamps were tiny short little cheap things. The AC worked great if it was on 64 degrees. But as soon as you tried to turn it up, the heat in the room kicked on and did not turn off. So 64 all night it was. I love a soft mattress, but this was beyond soft, felt like I was sinking in a hole. There is no elevator, just an fyi if you don't do well with stairs and are on the 2nd floor. Overall, an adequate place to stay 15 minutes from OU and it cost $50 less than what OU was charging parents to stay in a dorm single for orientation. I'm not picky, so it was fine, but just know what to expect going in.

NOT the stay i thought! We arrived at 2:50 PM. Check-in was at three. I had to wait for 10 minutes. There was nobody there. The parking lot was empty but they still made me wait. I had to be at a wedding at 4 o’clock, so I was really rushed for time. I requested a recliner for my elderly mother or two separate beds. We got neither. The young man didn’t even know what a recliner was. I had to explain it to him. He said he would call his manager- no follow thru. The continental breakfast was a joke. There were several people waiting in line for a home, Keurig coffee machine! For a whole hotel one home coffee machine yikes the continental breakfast was a joke. I recommend going into Nelsonville to get a hot breakfast. The room was clean. The back patio was nice but looks are very deceiving… This is a teaching hotel at Hocking College they just didn’t know what they were doing. Won’t stay there again. Definitely not worth the price!

We stayed here while our son/stepson attended freshman orientation at OU. It’s about 18 minutes from campus. The front desk workers and bartender were very helpful. Drink prices were great ($2 for a Diet Pepsi and $6.50 for an amaretto sour). Bar was open until 11. The room was spacious; loved the decor and the clean, new-looking upholstered chair. Only one small glitch: the bathroom’s sliding door didn’t close the entire way.

The Lodge is fairly remote and was very quiet when we visited in early June. The Lodge has a back patio that has plenty of seating and several tables. The patio overlooks a field and a forest. Everything was clean. Breakfast was available, but was very limited. We would probably stay here again.

Well the restaurant is attached to the university and the restaurant to the culinary school but school was out so not a soul there and know amenities. I will say we will go back because i think they have a really cool concept. I want to go back when school is in session. They were super nice

Clean room. Breakfast options are limited. More like continental. Not a full breakfast. A comfortable night sleep. No elevator for the 2nd floor. No exercise room, but you have access to the college's rec. building. Not good for long term stay, but better for 1 or 2 nights.

It sits in the middle of a corn field, literally, which is not the worst thing, outside patio looked like it hadn't been used all year, cobwebs, pallets, overgrowth. No easy way to it, the windows are about a foot wide, didn't look like the hallways get vacuumed, the room was decently clean, the beds terrible, just looked sad and unkempt

Stayed for 3 nights, enjoyed the experience. The rooms were clean, bedding and bathroom was clean. The common areas could use some love. The pillows were a lil crazy but we always use our own. Staff was friendly it was overall very quiet Memorial day weekend. I would recommend. Pet friendly for an additional 50.

We have stayed here twice before with excellent conditions. This time the shower water was lukewarm and the bed was terribly uncomfortable. It seemed as if the springs were broken. It sagged and creaked. It caused us to keep rolling to the middle of the bed and was not conducive to a good night's sleep. We have raved about the Lodge after prior stays, but this one was disappointing.

There where a lot of issues during our stay. We couldn’t adjust our heat and there was resolution to the issue. The beds were VERY uncomfortable. And they need to put king size beds in the rooms. There is no bathroom privacy with barn doors and there isnt enough seating in the room. There were no lightbulbs in my bedside table and there needs to be much better pillows. Nothing about the fire pit, bar or breakfast was explained to us at check in and there was no silverware w breakfast. We booked two rooms on one reservation and they put us on separate floors! Finally when you take the stairs there is no signage on doors and the rooms are not sound proof alt all… you hear EVERYTHING. I still paid as much as a regular hotel so I helps to make some improvements.

Perfect stay! The staff was so welcoming, kind and professional. Our room ( and the rest of the hotel)was immaculate and very homey. The bar served the most delicious drinks and breakfast was great. My only regret is that we waited until our daughter’s final year at OU to stay there.

I LOVED the location! Surrounded by farm land, grapevines, foliage, a lovely outaide area with a firepit AND a beautiful 24 mile paved walking/bike trail right next to the lodge. I loved the room ..No carpets, no dusty drapes, no tàsteless pics on walls..clean sleek look, and a cool glass sink! Would have given a 5 star, if the pillows would have been pillows instead of crumpled up, worn out looking, limp things, and the mattress was def not firm..I sank & only weigh 115#...and breakfast was warm coffee and a few items like bagels, waffles & apples..which I don't really care about but some might...if pillows and mattress would have been decent would be a 5 star

This was the second time we have stayed at Hocking Lodge while visiting with our grandson at Hocking College. Area is very quiet, safe and secure. Property is very nice. Room is very comfortable and beautifully decorated. Breakfast menu is improved with several options and gluten free cereal for those of us who need to eat GF. Thanks so very much for that. Coming from farm life we love the setting with the area surrounding the lodge and seeing the tractors in the fields. We have booked a room here again for grandson's upcoming graduation.

The room was spacious and pretty clean. But the bar and the restaurant were closed. I guess the restaurant is close permanently right now, but the bar is supposed to be open and it’s not open on Wednesday nights all that aside the room look nice but when you get in the bed, it was horrible. It should never be in a hotel. It’s the worst bed I’ve ever slept in. It was a big hole in the middle of it and the pillows were lumpy and fat and terrible. The whole experience sleeping was terrible. I did not get any sleep. I need to go to another hotel just to get rest from last night. It’s too bad really the set up as a college run hotel to get experience to the students. The problem is no one’s minding the shop.

Upon arrival, the facility did *not* have our reservation and was booked (althpugh they said Expedia did not connect with them). They finally gave us a "no show" room at 1 am; however, it was a single (we had booked, and needed) a double. They rolled up a cot which was rusty and broke upon unfolding, so one member of our party slept on a tilted mattress. The breakfast was meager: weak coffee and no milk for what coffee there was. With better management, this could be a nice place. EVen better, they could give the attached culinary school practice and have them prepare the breakfast offerings.

The area also really is lacking in food options and there weren’t any food options inside the lodge either.

Very nice Hotel .staff was very friendly and helpful.
I would've like see them have more staff. And think it they need do better job cleaning and sweping. Look like to me maintenance had done some Drywall repair work. And didn't clean up very well. Overall I would recommend staying there. It's in nice location and sets off main road a bit. Ok only down side was No Elavor and main Bar was only open Thursday to Saturday and limited hrs in the evening
