This is the first resort that I had to pay for parking and an upfront damage fee for the room. The bowling alley is being renovated, and we did not get the chance to experience it. This was the only reason I chose to stay here, was the onsite bowling alley because our family loves to bowl. The game room was very small with limited games offered. The parking was limited, but they did have an overflow across the street. The room was spacious, but I had to clean the bathroom again. The staff was friendly. I only stayed because a friend hyped it up more than what it actually is. I don't think we will be revisiting here.

The pool was nice. The property is being remodeled so check-in was across the street and accessing the building was somewhat complicated. There is 24 hour security in the parking garage which was nice. We had a decent view of the ocean. We were told our room would be cleaned on day 2 of our 4 day stay, but that didn't happen. The beds and pillows were mediocre at best. We went and got additional coffee from the makeshift lobby. Overall, it was ok, but I would wait until it is completed prior to staying there again.

My stay was nice and they are working on the property. The only problem I had was the sliding door to the balcony. I only wished they still had breakfast the way they use too. The overall stay was great.

One of are rooms stank ,roaches around the hotel,The tub was clogged,door got stuck at night,tv behind the door hazard,allergic reactions maybe bc they room wasn’t cleaned and sanitized properly,dirty carpet,elevator's sounded like they were about to break down,poor customer service and care,area around the hotel was not safe,balcony was very small.
We also payed for a room with 2 queens and 1 king bed and they gave us the wrong room with only the king and 1 queen and refused to give us the room we payed for.

The property is under construction currently, it does need upgrades. The parking garage was crowded but there is an extra lot in front of the building. There’s ice in the first floor only, the bathrooms near the pool were the portable type. They were always out of pool towels, I saw very few people during my stay and the towels bin was empty. Bring your own towels. If the hotel keeps its prices after the construction is done I would book again, they have a variety of pools and several jacuzzi. The property is easy to navigate, the rooms were very clean. It’s a good hotel to stay if you have kids.

After spending a crazy amount, we walked out after only been there a few minutes. From the moment we got to the hotel, it was horrible. Everything was dirty. Room was nasty. Damages. No air conditioner.
I went to the front desk and requested a refund, and they said they would not offer a refund. So we just left and booked another hotel.
I also reached out to Expedia, they tried to support, but the hotel manager denied their request as well. Expedia customer service was great, but the hotel was absolutely horrendous!

Very much needed vacation
I loved our week at Captain's Quarters. Very clean, relaxing, nice pools and spas. Lots to do all around. Oceanfront view. Only steps to the beach. The staff was nice but displaced because of construction so maybe stressed.
The only problem I had was they should let you know up front that it's $12 a night for parking, so an extra $84!!

Dont get “catfished”! Stay elsewhere. The worst!
Wow. Where do I start. I got catfished. The images and write up sounded great. But they were totally opposite. If unmanaged motel 6 ran a report in a 3rd world country! “New in 2025” nothing here was new- they are barely working on it which I guess was good as no construction noise.
Parking generally difficult and limited. There was no communication about where to check in (it was in a loud bustling restaurant next door- hot AF, unorganized, LOUD).
The hotel was gross in every way: trash all around, old milk in the parking garage for 10days+, clothes diapers, food packaging. Elevator was tired and had spongy floors, and gross. The pool area bath/changing room were extremely unsanitary! everywhere smelled like weed: garage/elevator/even blowing in my deck.
General room condition was prison worthy. Rusty metal, bad floors, thin walls, one light in th den area, beds worn and feel every spring. Wife and I barely slept the whole time as the beds and the curtains let in sooo much light from the outside lights it was almost day in side and add the people making noise until 12midnight running around.
The HVAC was running so hard but the room was just a cool WET feeling always, it never stopped. The bath slow to drain so I removed the top and it was bandaids and hair in it!
Room cleaning none! 10 days, request towels and sheets. trash and stick it outside and old towels. Not once was room cleaned. luggage trolleys hard to find. wack TV too!

We fought with the sliding door more times then I can count, even when we had a maintenance man come fix it. The AC unit was obnoxiously loud and impossible to fall asleep to. Are stay was for 9 nights and on our 4th day we asked to have housekeeping come in and clean our room, the manager said she would put us on the list, but they never showed. Don’t be fooled by the pictures online. The place is still under construction.

My room was really nice and clean, I originally had king room, but was upgraded to king suite when I asked about construction noise I was moved away from construction side to king suite. Only downfall to room was from balcony I couldn’t see up the beach due to building beside me, or complete view of down the beach for other building, it was like we was tucked between two buildings of the resort. Parking garage was only accessible to the 3rd floor, when trying to take luggage, groceries ect we had to unload cart take down steps then load it again because their was no ramp to roll it down? I was not aware of construction when I first booked our room? It was only listed on captains quarters website not Expedias?? Check in was beside resort at the lounge but was easy. But u will do a lot of walking throughout resort back and forth for elevator. Staff was very nice! Only staff I encountered that was not too polite was when checking out, she barely said 2 words to me besides looking at me as if I was her worst enemy for some reason? I was trying to tell her we was leaving a day early due to storms and was just ready to go! All she said was ok, took my keycards and that was it? No how was your stay or anything LOL!!!! But anyways pools was nice and clean, plenty of towels for room, no room service or cleaning entire stay, so the 3 stars I gave was for room cleanliness and size! But had I known at time of booking of all the construction I would have booked at another resort! 😕

The property is ideal for families, the multiple indoor and outdoor pools made it so it was never too cramped. The hotel was still under construction which made it look unwelcoming, and the hallways/rooms are pretty dated but at least mostly clean. Location wise it was an 40 minute walk down to the skywheel and the popular restaurants/attractions, other than family kingdom which was a 10 minute walk. Overall it was a great stay and we would love to come back when the hotel is finished with the renovations.

It was absolutely horrible. Dirt/crud in the bathroom. The floor looked like it had not been cleaned in some time. When we arrived we had to wipe of the kitchen table ourselves. The pictures make this place look nicer than it actually is. Very disappointed, will NEVER be back.

We were in a “newly remodeled” room that already had chipped furniture and a large burn hole in the couch. It seemed like they upgraded some things and mixed them with old furniture. Ocean front , 15th floor up high , best views we had in Myrtle beach . Loved everything about it and wished didn’t have to leave . If I had one issue is that the resort provided shampoo but no bodywash which really surprised us because we never been anywhere that didn’t provide it . If I can get those high views of beach life every time I’ll gladly come back . Also be warned too when you check in , and finished , you get a bit caught off guard as you get directed to another person who wishes to set you up with timeshare and book you an appointment to go meet up with someone for around 90 minutes. This was something my wife and I didn’t like and didn’t come for and put a blemish in our trip as we felt pressured into it .

We normally stay here but this time it was under construction. That being said I can see great changes coming which didn’t bother me. I had an issue with the bathroom. The shower doors had handles on each end so it would only open so far making it very difficult to get in and out safely. The pool was overflowing and the hot tubs were very low. The beds had an indent in it and I felt like i was sleeping in a hole.

The office had put the room unnder someone elses name, and kicked us out. They were being very rude and disrespectful. Wouldnt even let us grt our belongings

Will not stay here again. The swimming choices were nice for the kids, as well as convenience to the beach. The room was partially remodeled and there was space for 6 of us. Very nice staff, and the luau was fun. Other than that i dont have a ton of great things to say. Dirty, leaky air conditioner, a man tried to break into our room at 3am, lots of drunk parents not watching their children, the restaurant is overpriced and not very good.

Very nice hotel. Check in was a breeze. The hotel was under construction but it wasnt a bother but for about an hour. We stayed on the 9th floor, oceanfront and had excellent views. We loved the indoor lazy river, pool and hot tub. Price was good for this time of year. We parked on the deck, went to the elevator and it came out right in front of our room. Very convenient. Great location to walk downtown. Will definitely return.

Beware!!!! I paid in full on hotels.com and captain's Quarters stated they only got paid for 1 day of stay. No one on either said has given me my money back. They just blame each other. As of right now i am out of $281.00 and still no deposit back either. I paid in advance to be sure of how much spending money i would have. Didn't know the front desk and/or this website would rob me.

For starters, the resort is under construction, every single floor!! Very loud, dusty & concrete chunks everywhere. Zero customer service. They don’t bring clean wash towels daily, when we requested them, took over an hour to get them delivered. Key cards de-magnetized 4 times in 3 days. Could not get in the garage or the room without parking & walking to another building for the temporary check in area, to get new cards. The bowling alley is no longer there. The restaurant that was on floor nine is not there. The Loco gecko is only open on weekends. Check-in was an absolute nightmare 45 minutes. I will never stay at this resort again. I’ve been coming to Myrtle Beach for 30 years and this was by far one of my worst experiences zero out of 10 would not recommend.

Tv remote control did not work so I tried to call the from desk and the phone would not call the front desk so I walked down to the front desk and waited 20 minutes for someone to talk to because no one was at the counter, when someone finally came to the desk they told me that they didn’t have extra remote controls so they told us that a Guy from maintenance would come to our room to solve the situation and he never showed up very unprofessional and a big waste of my time

Room was dirty and never got housekeeping with 4 night stay. Noisy every night, construction going on. Elevators were small. Pools and hot tubs were dirty.

I loved the amenities and fun things to do for the kids. We had a great time in the hot tub as well as the kids enjoyed the lazy river and pools. However, the pictures depict more upgrades than there actually were. Granted, they are in the process of renovating but the entire hotel including showers, lamps, and balcony furniture were outdated. The entire facility needs a deep cleaning.

There is a lot to say about this resort. Firstly, they do not have “breakfast included”. There is one restaurant that is over priced next door, that you can walk to.
I had to have someone change my room because our patio door didn’t lock and our shower wasn’t usable. Mind you, we were placed on the first floor, so we could’ve been robbed at any moment. Speaking of robbed, the manager made us feel dumb because the safe wasn’t operational and they didn’t feel that this was a big enough issue to address. On one of the first nights, we were there, there was actually a break-in from a patio balcony on the 10th floor. This man was never caught and he broke through a patio door that did not lock properly. I have never experienced A group of employees who were so bothered by having to do the bare minimum of their jobs. It was so difficult to find someone that worked there to address issues with, because there was relatively no one ever available at the front desk. On top of that, they have a pool available for the guest to swim in, but don’t plan on getting wet because they do not refill the towels after 10:30 AM. The pool opens at nine so if you don’t get there first, you don’t get a towel. There was no maintenance that ever came to the room, or housekeeping. If we wanted new sheets, then we had to go to the front desk to get them. Like I said no one was ever available at the front desk, and I couldn’t call because our room phone was broken.
