We loved the location. Felt like we could use the water bus to places (right around the corner from hotel) with buying the passes or pay 2 euros to cross the water on the tranghetto. The food near the hotel was amazing! We appreciated AC so much. The breakfast was so perfect but just be careful if you eat outside the designated breakfast area in case you get charged to eat outside. Have euros for the tax fee you pay at the end of your stay. We organized a water taxi with the hotel since our flight left really early in the morning. Go to the rooftop to see a gorgeous view! All in all we loved the location and appreciated the amenities!

Its a great location- easy access both to quieter parts of Venice either north east or across teh canal and west and walking distance to St Marks and the Rialto.

The staff were delightful and helpful. We took our disabled son with us and the stafff could not have been kinder to him.

The rooms are a great size and all the facilities worked well- including the air conditioning!

The breakfast was good and certainly of a standard to match a 4 * hotel. The staff were kind enough to find things for a special diet to eat.

We love the upstairs terrace and the bar were kind enough to bring drinks up to us.

There is a some re decoration needed ... but it is Venice, it is probably damp in winter and its not my house!

We have stayed there before and will certainly do so again

The position Is excellent. Easy walking to the quieter north east corner or St Marks. The traghetto is close or a gondola.

The breakfast was ok. It was the same food every day but good quality. I thought it said we would eat on the roof so we could overlook the city but that wasn’t the case. We ate on the main floor.

We stayed at Foscari Palace for two nights and, based on the reviews and ratings, I was genuinely excited about our stay. However, upon arrival, the person checking us in unexpectedly asked whether we really wanted to stay there. That comment immediately made me question our choice and created a negative first impression.
The hotel's location was definitely a positive. It was conveniently situated near many restaurants and within walking distance of several popular areas of Venice. Unfortunately, on our first day, the Vaporetto service was on strike, so we had to walk everywhere. While that situation was outside the hotel's control, I wish someone had informed us when we purchased our three-day transit pass. Depending on your destination, most attractions were about a 20–30 minute walk away.
We reserved two rooms, and while both were clean upon arrival, they were very different in size. One room was spacious and comfortable, while the second was significantly smaller—approximately one-third smaller—even though we paid the same rate for both rooms. That inconsistency was disappointing.
The rooftop balcony was another letdown. It looked nothing like the photos on the website. To reach it, guests must climb a steep wooden staircase, and the area behind the stairs appeared to be used for storage and was quite cluttered. The hotel was very underwhelming. We went in May and the bar and the roof top were not open. There were several things wrong in the room which they did address. There is a small porch type area on the canal which is very cute, however, if you want to have your coffee/breakfast out there they charge you 10 euros. This should be included. We expected a concierge service but the front desk did not always speak English so they were no help in getting us around and there were no maps, brochures, etc. The location, was excellent however.

This was my third stay. The location is terrific. The rooms were clean but the property needs some maintenance. The roof leaked into my room after heavy rain, the hallways need to be repainted from water damage and the mirror in the bathroom was broken. The pillows were much too flat for my liking. Breakfast was good often needed to be restocked. One day we were leaving early for a tour and breakfast was not fully set up at 7 am. With that said, I would book it again for the location and cleanliness.

I cannot say enough about how pleased I was with this hotel. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast they supply is better than almost any other hotel we have stayed at in Italy. The rooms are neat and clean. Our plan is to stay here again next time we are in Venice. They even set up our water taxi from the hotel to the airport and packed us a nice breakfast for our departure. I would rate our experience as a 10.

A beautiful spot on the water. Breakfast area was lovely. You could sit at the windows looking over the canal. Our room was very nice and staff kept it clean and fresh each day. Lovely big shower. Staff responded to concerns quickly. They were not able to fix our tv for us (but we didn't really spend time in the room anyway). Breakfast staff was friendly although the night time person at desk for key retrieval was not friendly and was always 'screening'. Also please ensure you have the city tax payment in cash on check out, as we were not allowed to add it to our bill and pay it on our card (although we did do that in Verona). The ATM in the hotel charged an exorbitant exchange rate for the cash payment. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel.

The Hotel enjoys a prime location in a charming neighborhood with a beautiful view of the Grand Canal. It's conveniently situated near several vaporetti stops, making it easy to explore Venice. The rooms are spacious. However, the age of the building does show in some areas. The bathroom sink was clogged during our stay, and the shower doors were unstable, occasionally coming off their tracks. The fridge in the room was completely empty, and there were no water bottles or a coffee machine provided, which felt like a missed opportunity for guest comfort. The hotel features a rooftop that offers an incredible view but was abandoned and poorly maintained. In reality, it had a few scattered tables and was clearly not set up for guest use.
Service was inconsistent. Some staff members were courteous, others at the reception were noticeably hostile and unwelcoming. The hotel is also understaffed, which may explain the lack of attentiveness. Breakfast was limited and repetitive. On top of that, we were mistakenly charged an extra €20 for having breakfast on the terrace despite never having eaten outside. At checkout, we were given someone else’s bill, and they also added a city tax for our 4-year-old child, which should not have been applied according to local regulations. Given the high room rates, management is relying solely on guest turnover without making any efforts to enhance the guest experience or create a welcoming atmosphere that could enhance the experience.

Our Studio Suite had 2 Juliet Balconies overlooking the Grand Canal and Gondola station. The decor was Old World and 550 sq ft. The staff was friendly, served buffet breskfast-it felt like home for a week. Only 23 rooms with good air conditioning. This location as great as you could walk or Vaporetto eithercdirection as it's halfway up the Grand Canal.

The customer service was terrible. The front desk said that we need to get an extra bed for my 9yr old daughter because the bed is small. I paid $120 for extra bed for 2nights. I saw the bed and it’s California king size which is good size for us. I canceled the extra bed and I asked for a refund and she said I can’t get my money back and I asked why. Forcari Palace hotel was an excellent choice for several reasons. 1st was location - far enough from the main tourist stops to be quiet for sleeping but close enough for getting to those sights for convenience. 2nd it is located very close to a gondola express to cross the Grand Canal as well as close to the water bus stop. This ease of jumping on either to go somewhere was great. Then you get to the property itself. The building is in excellent condition and very well appointed. Good size rooms and bath accommodation. They also have a deck to watch the Grand Canal at water level and a rooftop patio for great views of the surrounding area. I highly recommend this place for travelers.

Location is great , rooms ok but staff not so good. We were booked for 4 days then heading to Ravenna to get on a cruise. There was a National transportation strike so the only way we could get to the cruise ship was to leave a day early. Spoke to the staff who couldn’t understand what we were talking about. They didn’t even know about the strike, couldn’t see the manager till the next morning . He kept stating it was a no cancellation booking which it was but because of the circumstances we thought he coul see we weren’t cancelling on a whim. Hotels. Com thought it reasonable too and went in to bat for us , but to no avail. So there goes 250 euros down the drain. Loved Venice but this soured the trip.

Our arrival by water taxi was the beginning of the best stay we had in Italy. The front desk man was terrific, welcoming and willing to help in any way. He made us 2 Aperile spritzes to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our room 101 was beautiful. Spacious, immaculate, and beautiful. The breakfasts were amazing. The Americanos and the delicious croissants were the best. The breakfast team couldn’t have been more accommodating. The only problem we had was the checkout man at the desk. He demanded cash for the city tax. All 3 of the other hotels put it on the bill. We didn’t have cash left and were headed to the airport. This kept our water taxi driver delayed. The driver gave us the cash and we had him put it on our bill for the ride. All the man at the desk repeated was ATM and pointed to the machine. Other than his attitude, our stay at Foscari Palace was as good as it gets. Traveler advice: keep a little cash just in case this happens to you.Thank you so much!

The location is wonderful, facing the Grand Canal and right next to a boulevard full of shops, restaurants, cafes, bars etc. Very convenient to get to from Marco Polo airport using the taxiboats with a walk of about 10 minutes. The atmosphere in general is charming and the rooms are incredibly comfortable and spacious for these old buildings.

Wonderful location on the Grand Canal, close to vaporetto and traghetto stop. Good breakfast selection. Great rooftop terrace overlooking the Grand Canal. Front desk staff overall very friendly, except for one middle age gentleman.
Washroom needs updating. Rust along shower/bath enclosure, faucets mismatched, vanity counter top broken and chipped. Good water pressure and good hot water.
Room too warm and unable to turn on air conditioning since the hotel already disengage the air conditioning system. Windows do open but no screens so mosquitos became a problem.

Very welcoming on arrival, clean and well presented hotel, sat out on the terrace and had a drink while our room was getting ready, lovely seating area out to watch the gondolas go by!
Room was clean but few little things, coat hook was missing from behind the door, screw still in wall… knob missing from one of wardrobe doors, few other little niggles but nothing that would stop me from recommending or going back to the hotel. Complementary breakfast was outstanding every day as was the service from the staff at breakfast time nothing was too much trouble and selection was plentiful!

We really liked this hotel. The private water taxi dropped us off outside the hotel. Room clean and quiet. Don’t open windows as mosquitoes come in. Breakfast lovely and plenty to choose from. Lovely cafe called Sophia on the corner of the Main Street. About a 20 minute walk to the Basilica.

It would have been good if the hotel had allowed guests to use the coffee machine through the day but they didn’t. When you’ve been walking all day and up and down those bridges a hot drink when you get back would have been lovely.

Stay Away

I'd like to for sure recognize the afternoon desk attendent for being attentive and kind. I dont have her name, but she jad eastern/asain heritage and was great. Everything else was not. The manager was not kind did not care about our experience. The room was not good or comfortable. We could not increase the heat and the shower soaked the entire bathroom. Would not recommend.
