Staff were all great, helpful, friendly and couldnt do enough for you.
Surrounding area was beautiful with lovely walks.
Room for the price in my opinion was very average. I have never seen such a small TV. We went back to the room quite early and watch a bit of TV as we had an early start the next morning, TV was so small and at an angle on the wall that you couldnt watch it comfortably.
Food in the bar / restaurant was excellent, we had to leave before breakfast start time so cant comment on that. Room was very basic and not worth the money.

No WiFi - really small rooms not worth £100 a night

Bad smell - no toiletries to use like shampoo soap etc

Water pressure was good in the shower but gap in the door closing

Just a bit rubbish for a night more £50 a night

Bar and restaurant is very good and foods great.

Good area to walk too very pretty location

The property was very shoddily done up. The shower enclosure was dirty, the basin stood away from the wall leaving an unhygienic gap, the flooring had ingrained dirt. The toilet seat was loose and had to be held up for gentlemen to use it. We asked for some water for the room and we think we were charged for what appeared to be tap water. The pillows were cheap and lumpy; I would have thrown them away. I took photos and would happily provide them.

We stayed 3 nights and the experience was excellent. Clean, quiet and superb breakfast included. Ate dinner in the pub twice which was very good. No downsides, just that there was no cot available for the baby. No issues as we were told that in advance so brought our own. Also the single bed in our room was very squeaky.

Would definitely stay again.

Everything was great but I realised (too late) that there was no shampoo or shower gel! So probably my fault for not paying attention?! I normally bring my own but I forgot.
All staff were totally professional, friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was excellent; toast, cereal, fruit juice, tea or coffee and full English, vegetarian etc are all available if you would like. And the restaurant food was amazing! Well worth a visit! Thank you to everyone who works there, you do a wonderful job!

Beds in accommodation extremely poor, linen and pillows need replacing, inadequate toiletries, loose wiring around the room. On the plus side room was warm and breakfast was good, however, evening meal was basic , and poorly executed, as well as limited choice. No real ale on the bar.

Really nice place to stay

Enjoyed our overnight stay. Staff were great and breakfast was lovely. Room very clean and newly decorated and was set in a block in the courtyard at the rear of the Inn. Very happy with the stay, and would definitely stay again if we're in the area.

I stayed 2 nights. First night I had a meal in pub attached. Ok, very nice people tried to make sure wverything was ok, even offered to make me a sandwich for the road as I was leaving early in the morning. I would stay again. Note the pub is not open Sunday night.

Brilliant place for a short stay, we stayed 1 night and it was lovely the room was very clean and tidy the bed was comfortable there are no draws for clothes but for a short stay it didnt matter. Breakfast was included there was a selection of cereal, toast and cooked breakfast to order which was very nice. Fresh juice and tea and coffee only downside you had to pay extra for a latte but not a big deal. Price was perfect as well. The village itself is beautiful so peaceful and quiet. Will be visiting again !!

Disappointing return visit

We have stayed here before so knew in advance that the accommodation is in motel-type chalets, some of them up to 70 m from the main Inn. Standard of the rooms is satisfactory for the price but the Inn has now decided not to issue toiletries, except on request!! Somewhat inconvenient when the notice to this effect is seen as entering the shower - trekking 100m round trip to ask for toiletries not attractive. Toilet rolls and towels are still supplied though

Bedding cheap and not comfortable,shower was in dire need of replacement and dirty looking,tv in room was 24 inch,a joke.asked for french toast for breakfast as *chef* was on told only from sheet of paper on table,took hash browns sausage and beans,hash browns looked like they had just done rugby final and broke to bits sausage was awful,beans were small and not good quality,even toast was hardly edible as slices so thin teeth were crunching on it,not in a nice way biggest joke of all was that on menu in room it had that all gluten free food was made in oil fryer with same oil as everything else,this is a big no no,would i return,definetely not.

Nice location and motel-style single storey rooms extending back from the rear of the pub. Check in and out worked fine and service was good in attending to a temperamental TV. Rooms were generally clean but the bathroom was in need of attention with black mould on the silicon seal of the shower and between the tiles of the shower. Unlikely to stay there again with other better pubs in the neighbourhood at equivalent price

Really nice. Car parking right outside the chalets, breakfast was lovely and nice amount of choice. The room is relatively basic in terms of furnishings but the shower is powerful, the WiFi good and for one night or two, perfect. Small gripe, the bed linen doesn't fully overhang the bed so can leave taller guests with their feet exposed in the night. But a small gripe overall

My visit was due to a competition at a neat by venue i started with my friend. Lovely little twin room, all modern and beautifully decorated and super clean! Had everything we needed too. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the food was out of this world! We will definitely be back, have passed on details to other friends who will also be competing at the venue, they were easily impressed with our experience.

Stayed for one night, Sunday night at the Village Inn and it was ok for this. We rang earlier in the day to see if we could book a meal for the Sunday evening, but they stopped serving at 3 so good job we rang.
Room nice and clean, but a bit small, could have done with another chair, the reoccurring complaint for a double room and only one chair.
Nice and quite as we said a good overnight stop.

The Village Inn really is a hidden gem. The rooms are excellent, the hotel and food exceptional and the staff could not do enough to make your visit the best. There is nothing not to like about the Village Inn. Friendly people, first class food and facilities. Would certainly recommend to family and friends. The ambience in the restaurant and decoration is very pleasing and the chef's provide first class food. Something for everyone. The breakfasts are lovely too. Very good value for money. A peaceful setting with plenty of car parking. Excellent value in every respect.

Very good and enjoyable stay, albeit brief - only one night as on business in the area.
Good motel style rooms so quiet and secure, poor weather so cool, but room quickly warmed up however.
Evening meal was excellent, beautifully cooked and presented. Breakfast similarly fine, but 8am start a bit late for business guests, 7.30am start would be more acceptable.

Damp, uncomfortable room.

A warm greeting and quick check in led us to our room which was one of the chalets away from the main building. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable and the bathroom was full of damp. For £70 this is unacceptable. We struggled to sleep because the door had glass panels which let a lot of light in. Bring an eye mask if you do choose to stay here!
