Had a such horrible experience for the last stay in Rome. I booked this hotel via Hotel.com. And there has a highlight showed for Free Shuttle bus to the airport which attracted me. When I checked out in this morning, the staff in front desk told me I owe them €20 for shuttle bus. €8 for each way and another €4 for city tax. And I tried to show them the website’s highlights for FREE SHUTTLE BUS. And the bold guy in front desk told me it’s not free, it’s just free for your experience??? And also because I booked via Hotel.com which is not their business!! But ended up they said is their technical issues which I have to pay for it!! Excuse me??? Have you heard yourself???

Room was very dated, scuffs on walls, dodgy kettle, no bottled water. Lift was bashed in places and corridor carpet disgusting. Bathroom tiny. Overpriced stay. Our previous hotel in Rome was luxury for almost half the best western price. I would not recommend this hotel to friends or family.

When selecting a hotel for a last-minute stay due to a flight delay, we selected this hotel because it appeared (due to pictures and description) to be very close to shopping and dining. It is NOT. It is walkable, but not through a very nice area. Also, you will pay €8 pp for shuttle service to/from the airport which is efficient and convenient. The room is a little cramped and hallways are dated with old carpeting, but we also didn’t pay top dollar for the stay. We did not take advantage of the on-site restaurant, but instead opted for the 15-minute walk to the restaurant area close to the marina. Staff was courteous and fully bilingual Italian/English.

The staff was amazing, especially Andrea. We arrived at the hotel pretty late, after a long day of traveling, I was in a pretty bad mood from a terrible flight and lack of sleep. But when we walked in door and Andrea greeted us with a warm smile, it felt like coming home, and instantly improved my mood. She did everything she could do ensure we were happy. If anyone from the Best Western Corporate Office reads this review, I hope you know you have a real winner in Andrea.

Staff was friendly on check in and check out. Reception building was nice. The room wasn't great. The thermostat didn't work so the room was really hot. We turned it down from 21.5 as low as it would go to 18.5, and the air/fan did not turn on. We opened the window, but there was no screen and planes fly over the hotel so it's loud with the window open. The shower did not drain properly, so by the end of each of our showers, we were standing in a base half full of water. There was a single wall mounted hair, hand and body wash tube by the sink, and another in the shower so amenities definitely lacking. The first thing we saw when we sat in the bathroom, was dark hair on the floor. The shower base was old and it was not well maintained. The bedskirts and curtains were stained, which didn't instill confidence about overall cleanliness. The \"grate\" inside the room entrance, opened into the ceiling above, and was dirty. The hallway carpet was quite dirty and old. The room cost CAD $252 in November, which felt high considering the room conditions. We suspect they're charging for proximity to FCO. Not what we expected from Best Western, or for how clean we found other properties in Italy.

The staff had attitude as soon as we came in. It all started with the attitude of the shuttle staff.

Then when I asked about the air conditioning, they said it's off and to open windows. I was on the ground floor and the windows were full length sliding doors with no screen so no privacy or security.

The room got extremely hot and the beds were 100% awful. Barely slept, so using that hotel as a rest stop was a failure.

We also set an appointment to be dropped off at the airport which they claim they didn't have our reservation when we confirmed the night before twice. While also charging us for 4 people and charging us for the incorrect room. Mess from start to finish. Makes me never want to go back.

Best part of this hotel is its restaurant. Great selection of finely prepared foods for both dinner and breakfast. Friendly serving staff as well.
Hotel itself looks good on surface but in reality is worn. Room was hot and humid only resolved by opening window thus noisy. Shower drain slow and almost flooded during use. I guess it was OK for a layover but wouldn’t recommend otherwise.

This was a descent hotel for one night stay. It is 10 minutes from the airport which is why we chose it. The lobby area is very night but the rooms themselves are out dated and older. Other than that we good night stay and were able to get to the airport quickly. Also, they have a scale in the lobby to weigh your luggage for a Euro (to make sure you aren't over weight).

Hotel was NOT worth the price and was under construction. Hotel's restaurant is ONLY open from 6 pm to 10:30 pm. No free continental breakfast. Elevator was broken and my room.was on 2nd floor. Sink was stopped up and i had to call fronk desk to send maintenance to unclog. Twin beds not even 12 inches a part.

Although room was clean, hallway outside of room was very outdated and carpet looked old and faded and needs to be replaced. Door at the end of hallway which leads to outside stairs was slightly open and does not close properly and has high sqeaky scrappy noise when you tried to close or open it. So even though you need a key card to enter the building, the side stairs was open and anyone can enter the building on 2nd floor so not secure. Also our waiter at the restaurant was not very friendly. Airport was close to the hotel but shuttle service was not free.

Congratulations Best Western Rome Airport- you have achieved my rating of the worst hotel I have ever stayed at over my over 50 years of travelling, and staying at over 100 hotels in several countries. The hotel is not a 3 star hotel, should be classed as a motel.It is dated, extremely dirty, the walls are covered in dirt, and are damaged, paint peeling off in huge chunks. The huge chair in the room was ripped apart, the ceiling was black from dirt where the air vent is. Definitely not modern furnished as they claim. More like a 60’s dated theme. The bathroom is small. You are unable to open the shower doors due to the tiny space between the sink and shower. The only towels are directly touching the bidet. They charge to weight your luggage which is a service provided by most hotels located close to the airport with no fee. The check in was good, the girl at the front desk called a taxi to take us to a mall as our room was not ready, at 35 euro, however when we returned to the “hotel” a taxi taking the same route back from the mall, charge 25 euro? We did not try the dinner instead walked up the street and we lucky to find a lovely restaurant, called Indespensa. The gentlemen whom took us to the airport was friendly and helpful. The area is run down. Run far away from here. Best Western shame on you- you can do better
